Don't buy a lamp from Ballard. Very cheap product. Lamp broke off at the iron light connection, obviously couldn't support the heavy lantern. Why sell a faulty product. I contacted Ballard and they were not helpful. Beware of their cheap product. There is a reason they won't stand behind their junk. See photos. read more

they don't even deserve one star. a bloody disaster waiting for weeks for night stands then jerked us around on delivery to the point of being asked to accept a delivery at midnight. DO NOT Get anywhere near this company. read more

If I could rate - 5, I would. Do not purchase anything that has to be delivered from this store. There is an exorbitant delivery fee. We purchased a leather chair. It arrived unassembled in a 4 cubic foot box. The box was damaged. Ballard does not provide assembly of items sold. We were told we could return the chair, but the shipping company would require 1 - 2 weeks to pick it up. Terrible customer service. Returns difficult. If you can't carry it out of the store, don't buy it! read more

I want to start by saying that this one star review is not at all a reflection on the wonderful staff at the Ballard's store. They were super helpful and nice. Denise did a great job of helping me select the right combination for the items I purchased. Unfortunately this is where the good times ended. Ballard Designs, as a company, is a mess. My order was done much sooner than they told me. Normally this would make someone say yipppeee, but not if their space was still under construction. I called. I e-mailed. I called and e-mailed again. We went back and forth so many times. They kept getting the delivery date and the delivery address wrong. Every time I wrote or called, I got a different person, and they never seemed to bother reading the notes or e-mails from before. After this seemed never ending, I insisted on speaking with a supervisor; she was competent and tried to help, but she could do only so much in this terribly incompetent system. They also use an out-to-lunch shipping company. The shipping company never called me to arrange for the delivery. I had to keep contacting Ballards for them to intervene. Finally they gave me a delivery date and then a delivery time frame, from 12-5. Fortunately I had the instinct to call and confirm before I left the house because the delivery came at 11. And now let's talk quality, or lack there-of. Two of the three pieces were just fine, but the third should not have made it out to me. The fabric on the back is all rippled. This is really an item for an outlet store. But I don't have the time to send it back, wait for a new one to be hopefully better made, and then deal with the nightmare of arranging shipping...So, I asked for some financial compensation for the lack of quality. They gave me $100 bucks back. Wow. Do yourself a favor and pass on Ballard's. Peruse the pretty catalog and then go elsewhere to purchase something similiar. read more

Bought a headboard and two end tables for our bedroom. They had to be ordered because Ballard keeps nothing in stock. Ballard completely screw up the order, then cancelled the order, then reordered the wrong order - I can't believe this place stays in business! Our experience with Ballard was a complete abortion. We still don't have what we ordered. Customer service is completely useless - they have no idea what is going on. I had to threaten to call the police because they had no plan to either 1. Deliver the furnature, or 2. Refund our money. Literally - I HAD TO THREATEN TO CALL THE POLICE! Steer clear of Ballard Designs!! read more

Purchased a few things from Ballard over the years. When I moved to a new condo and needed dining chairs I ordered 4 Custom Parson chairs from Ballard after I visited the store in Roosevelt Field to see the construction of the chairs. They seemed to be exactly what I was looking for - I selected my custom fabric. Weeks later they arrived, three of the chairs were OK - the 4th Chair had a defect in the wood leg. I contacted customer service, they would replace the chair and send instructions for a free return. Four weeks later the replacement arrived - there was a defect in the fabric on the seat cushion. Called customer service again they will contact me next week! If I could I would return all the chairs, just was informed today that Ballard outsources their "Custom" orders so apparently no quality control exists! You would be in need of a vision test not to have noticed the defect, I saw it as soon as I opened the box right through the plastic! My recommendation would be NEVER order CUSTOM from Ballard's! read more

I gave a 5 star review to the King of Prussia store but my online experience has been a nightmare. I ordered four runners. I received one runner and three 3x5 rugs so I returned the three wrong rugs and received a credit. Then I placed a second order for three runners to replace the wrong rugs they sent in the first order. That's where the problems (more problems) began. One of the rugs in this order was never received. I got a credit for that one. The other two were the wrong size again!!! I returned them and UPS tracking shows that they were received by their warehouse. They refuse to give me my refund. The customer service reps get confused by all the other credits on my account due to Ballard's inability to ship the correct size rugs in the first place. So now I'm spending hours calling, chatting and writing to get my $719 refund. I HAVE FINALLY RECEIVED THE RUGS. NOW I NEED THE REFUND FOR THE TWO RUGS THAT I RETURNED THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REFUNDED. read more

I have shopped with Ballard design's catalog/online store for over 25 years. I ordered a Santos angel tree topper online. When it arrived, it was so much more beautiful than I had anticipated. I tried to order one more but the item was sold out online. I called CS and they told me to try calling the NY store. Living in CA, I was not even aware there were B &M stores. I called the NY store and spoke to Erick. He checked and they had the item in stock. He told me the 20% online discount also applied for in store items. So, naturally I ordered two. He was super helpful and was very efficient. I received an email confirmation within 30 mins. The items arrived very well packaged. If you see an item you like and see that it has sold out, I highly recommend calling the NY store. read more

Very Pier One like except a little higher end but the much higher prices don't justify what you get for your money. Nothing you can't get anywhere for a better piece. A few good deals on the floor samples I would only buy those. Where they do a decent job is there light fixtures they are fairly nice and they are reasonably priced. Staff was very nice also. The rent here must be a fortune in this mall and I don't think people come to the mall to buy furniture so you're paying for their outrageous rent hence higher prices. Also when they have sales better to buy and would give them a try only then. They currently have signs 25% off everything but then you look on the fine print on a sign someplace else And says only with their credit car which I thought was very misleading. And if you think it's no big deal to open up another credit card every time you do ... you lower your credit score if you have too many already. read more

The end of December I recently moved into a newly constructed condo. I'm on the hunt to establish a decor that truly represents me and my somewhat beautiful and high end taste. I've passed this store a few times and the decor is very inviting. I'm expecting guests in two weeks I have to hustle to get it cozy. I walked around this entire store at least twice and not once did an employee ask if I needed assistance, they did manage to ask a couple, of a different race, I was kind of trailing on two separate occasions if they needed help. I guess I don't fit their profile of a paying customer. Yes, I am a African American woman in my early 50's whose has the means to purchase what I want. I'm blessed. You can bet your last dollar #ballarddesigns will never get my money. On the way out I went to an employee to ask for help and I mentioned to him what happened to me, no apologies from him, simply a look of disbelief. I thanked him for his help and left. I did tell him that I would be posting a Yelp review. We are all one race "human " just ask everyone if they need help. Stop judging. read more
