Very poor customer service here. Got to the register I explained to the lady that I would like to purchase an item and pick up my order. She asked for the info and then said the orders were closed. I told her that couldn't be since it says ready for pick up. She said they're closed. Another customer walks up, she takes them without resolving my discrepancy. She shoos for me to move over. I'm looking at her like "i'm here, help me". She started to take a second customer when I asked her what's going on with my order. Then she said she had to get a manager. The manager comes and goes to check for the orders. She comes back and says one of the orders is from September. Idk where she got that order from. I showed her the number, she went to check. I was standing for a while waiting for answers. The original sales worker said they're packing your order and she left for the day. She never rung me up, never resolved my original issue. I continued to wait a while for my order. Another associate asked to help me and he checked and they weren't even packing it. I was in this store more nearly 30mins waiting for my order. I'm very disappointed at the customer service I received. The lady was not very friendly. She was even terrible to someone else who questioned the pricing. She has a very dismissive demeanor. Crate & Barrel was having a Harvest Moon Event so we decided to go and check it out. They had the entire store decorated for all the upcoming holidays. They had Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year's Displays. All were exquisite, with food and drinks to sample, shrimp cocktail, Charcuterie Board with various cheeses, fruits, vegetables, meats, cakes, pies, cookies, so many treats and various drinks, smoothies, cranberry cocktails, cider cocktails and vendors demonstrating their automatic espresso/cappuccino machines. Of course I had to have a latte from a Beeville machine with hazelnut, it was awesome. I am so glad I attended this event, they went all out. Every display really highlighted each holiday. It was like walking into someone's home fully decorated professionally which it was. Gave me a very peaceful welcoming feeling. Crate & Barrel is somewhat pricing but they have high quality merchandise. You do get what you pay for here. Can't wait to attend the next event. read more

I had an excellent experience picking up an item after ordering online. Each staff member was friendly and even asked to help me bring the box out to my car. Nice store a bit hectic at holiday time. They could use more help but what store can't. They have an inventory of every gadget and then some, Lovely flatware and new updated patterns for place settings. Quite a remarkable store, operations are well they try. Upstairs furniture is primarily contemporary, always lots of interesting things to feel and touch. Marble cheese stones lovely, everything coffee tea and then some. If you don't find it here it most likely doesn't exist. Generally nice staff. read more

I was just verbally abused by the store manager in the Riverhead Outlet store. I was there to return a pillow sham that I had believed was in the wrong package and hence the wrong size. It was labeled "standard sham" but inside was a king sham. Becuase I didn't have a receipt, the store clerk had to call over the manager. After waiting a good 10 minutes for the manager to arrive, he looked at the store clerk and said, "no returns without original packaging." I then realized this was likely my mistake, since only one sham was in each package, I had likely picked up one standard and one king. As I was explaining this to him, he walked away. I said, "Excuse me, I was speaking to you." He whipped around and verbally admonished me, "Well, I was NOT speaking to YOU. I was speaking to my employee who has asked for my assistance." I went to explain that this had been my error at which point, he landed into me with verbal abuse that he was in no way addressing me and I had no right to address him. I have to feel that had I been a man, I would not have been treated this way. I was so shaken, I began to cry and had to leave the store and then came back to retreive my belongings. I'm a long-time customer of Crate and Barrel but have never been so shamed and verbally assaulted by a store manager. His name is Terry, and I am filing an official complaint with Crate and Barrel Corporate. It was clear that other store employees were disturbed by his behavior as well. I purchased two items off a wedding registry. trying to track them was so hard. one said shipped , the other delivered. When I tried to track them on FEDEX i was getting different info. Tried to chat with a rep on the website. It NEVER worked. I went on several times. Kept getting same Message: OOOPS we cant connect. Really? Then i called. Honestly the girl on the phone was having the same problem i was having. I think she was just guessing at her answers. Also as i mentioned i bought two items, however i had one order number. Came in on a weekend to return a gift I received. The first floor cashier lady seems new and inexperienced, I gave her the gift receipt and engaged in a conversation about not liking the gift. The lady seems confused during the process and told me she was unable to locate some sort of code, I told her I didn't know the product, I didn't purchase the product and maybe its a set. She eventually found the code on another piece and told me its refunded to the credit card at which point I realized the lady has no idea what she is doing :P I told her again this is a gift, I gave her a gift receipt, I am not seeking to refund the amount to the original form of payment. She casually threw out an apology. This resulted in a embarrassing scenario where I need to explain to the original gift buyer on why I refunded her gift!! read more

I came here yesterday and interacted with a few associates. But one in particular who was helpful was David I found the cheeseboard i wanted and the cheese servers to go with it for a housewarming gift for my friend. The store as always is well organized and stocked. When i brought my items to the counter i inquired if all of the cheese server handles are always this big because i only noticed two in display. David said they also have a stainless steel one and i opted for that one because 1 it was cheaper than the marble and 2 it can go in the dishwasher.. he nicely wrapped the two items and placed them in a box securly with handle and plenty of tiasue paper The other item i purchased was for myself it was odd sized measuring cups 2/3 3/4 1 1/2c and 2c. Perfect because their stainless steel and they are embossed with the measurements so i dont have to worry about any ink fading off after multiple years! read more

This is an awesome store that has the best high end furniture around. My daughter found the couch of her dreams for her first solo apartment in NYC after 5 years of roommates. The store is abiding by CoVID standards and all associates wear masks and require the same from customers. This Crate & Barrel is well stocked and have many registers open thus, there are never any long lines. It's well cleaned and maintained. Their gift registry at this location is easy to use and informs engaged couples when products are discontinued and should be removed from your registry list. The staff at this location is very friendly and helpful which they actually provide service! Gift wrapping is free. The only way to access this location is by car. It's located in a very upscale area. Shoppers can take Northern Boulevard all the way to Manhasset. read more

My husband and I tried to purchase a set of dishes at this location this morning. The staff member we interacted with was an older Hispanic woman. She was extremely overbearing, latching on to us and following us everywhere we went on both floors making it impossible to make a decision about what to purchase. we left without buying anything because of this. When i tried to let management know before I left, they couldn't care less. Definitely will not be returning. read more

My review is about their customer service not their products. I have purchased numerous items from multiple bridal registry's in the past 3 months at the Manhasset store and unfortunately have had customer service issues every time. Back in May I placed an order for pick up. First I received a text/email stating my order was ready for pick up. Shortly after, I received another text/email stating the entire order was not available but I would be notified when the missing items were ready for pickup later in the month. Ok that's fine since I didn't need the gift til the end of June. I follow the instructions for pickup and choose the option to have someone bring the package out to my car. It asks how long til I'll be at the store. I chose 10 minutes. I got there exactly in 10 minutes. Once there the next question was which parking spot am I in. I choose spot # 2. I wait, and wait, and wait. 10 minutes later I get out of my car and go into the store to find out what's taking so long. I wait another 15 minutes and finally they come out with the order. 35 minutes to actually get my order. Why bother asking how long until I'm at the store if it's ignored. Ok I get home and bring the box in. Later that evening I decide I better open the box and make sure everything looks ok. To my surprise there was something missing. I ordered 8 glasses but 1 was supposedly missing according to the text/email but 2 were missing and I was charged for all 8. Now I call customer service. They tell me the 2 glasses that are missing can be purchased at the flat iron store or the Westchester store. Now I understand that customer service is most likely not in NY so they have no idea where these stores are in regards to each other but... why would I go to another store to pick up the missing glasses. They didn't even offer to have it shipped to me. I insisted but then they kept asking if I wanted it sent to the recipient. I had to keep insisting they mail it to me because I was giving it to the recipient at her bridal shower. I finally get the missing glasses but they sent it 2x and charged me for them again. Now I had to go back to the store to return the extra glasses. A total mess. I vow not to shop at crate & barrel again but of course in July I get an invite to another bridal shower and they are using crate & barrel. I cringe and purchase gifts. Of course this time they are charging shipping so I decide to do pick up at the store again but only One item I'm purchasing is available for pickup at the Manhasset store. The other item is coming direct from the vender and crate & barrel is charging me $28 to have it shipped. I'm not happy but I order it. Later that night I decide to look to see if this particular item is less expensive elsewhere. Low & behold it's not less expensive but no shipping charges direct from the vender. I reach out to crate & barrel and explain that I could order the same item direct from the vender for the same price minus $28 shipping so they credited me for the shipping. Why did I have to ask though. On another note the exact same thing happened with the store pickup this time as it did back in May. I will never shop at crate & barrel for myself. Absolutely terrible customer service. I purchased a $12,000 sectional (3 pieces) and after delivery I noticed the seperate sections were connected with nylon brackets. The sections all moved around so the couch is never "one piece". I called the 800 number for crate and barrel and they told me to contact the store. The store suggested that I purchase "stabilizers" to fix the issue. (why do I have to purchase anything to fix any issues with a brand new $12,000 couch). I explained to them that the legs were not the issue, if the couch slid around it should slide together as one piece. The couch was actually seperating. The next suggestion was to install additional nylon pieces to keep the sections together. Great. They schedule a date for service to install four new brackets and in the end their customer service rep tells me "that will be $70" because apparently they were giving me the brackets for free, but I had to pay for delivery. I told them I wanted them to take the couches back and didn't want to deal with this anymore. Paying $12000 for a couch and being nickle and dimed for a faulty design is just ridculous. The customer service rep actually had the nerve to tell me "you know you're the only person that's ever called to complain about this?" At this point the phone call was becoming infuriating so I asked how she could make this statement, did she field every phone call ever made in regards to this couch. Her response, "for this store yes". They delivered the brackets and only installed two although they stated they'd install two per section (so they needed to install 4 in total). Absolutely pathetic service. Very pretty store. The workers at the store are very nice and helpful but once they sell you a product, good luck. Don't get sucked in by the pretty furniture. If you have issues their customer service is not only pathetic but rude as well. I don't understand how they can be so non chalante, this is a potential liability. If the couch comes apart and someone gets hurt, they're opening themselves to all types of lawsuits. read more

My review is strictly based on their wedding registry event. My fiancé and I were interested using Crate&Barrel for one of the stores for a wedding registry. We were greeted by the staff nicely as they explained how to use the ipod devices to scan in the products we would like to put on our registry. They provide small bites and drinks for those who were hungry. The staff was very helpful in explaining how the products work and what they would recommend. Like most companies, Crate&Barrel offers extra benefits such as a completion discount after your wedding and extra gifts from their vendors if their products you select are fulfilled in your registry. As a nice thank you gift, Crate&Barrel gives the couples two stemless wine glasses in a cute wine bag. We very much enjoyed this event and suggest other couples to go as well. Of course if doesn't necessarily mean you have to go to this location if another is closer to you. read more

House stuff. Yay - I love Crate & Barrel. I can always find something in here that I didn't know I needed until I saw it. As I've moved over the years, I have left some really sweet C&B items attached to walls that I simply could not get back off said wall- that is more a testament to my fanatical use of gigantic sized anchors - but the C&B items were also very well made. Anything I've gotten here is top notch and having just recently moved, I am out shopping again... cha ching! Some of the stuff is pricey - so I look for the clearance catalog whenever they mail it to me - The place is clean and almost impossible to get out of there without buying something! If you are looking to purchase furniture, look for Ed Carpenter in the furniture department. He is the best. He is very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. He knows a lot about the products and how/where they are manufactured, etc etc. He will make sure the pieces you select will look good in your space and also fit through your doors! Sales associates in house ware are, however, not as knowledgeable about the products. They are usually short staffed so it is difficult to get help, even on a weekday. read more

I love this place. Our living room/dining room I decorated 5 years ago I think? Maybe 6? Anyway the chairs still look amazing besides where our devil of a cat has jumped on with her claws leaving tiny scratches you can't even really see (she's evil) lol but they've held up so well I just love them. Our dining table looks amazing too. I also just replaced most of our kitchen storage with things from here. Actually I need to stay awhile from here for awhile :) I even just got the cute Christmas looking tree thing before it was even put out. If we can't find our wreath hook I'll be back for that! At least I hope they sell it again this year. Seriously how does my husband misplace a huge wreath hook? Also our bar we got from here still looks just as good if not better then the one on display looks here. I might have to invest in a couch from here one day if they start doing cool leather modern pieces. I could spend an hour just walking around here. I only wish they sent more coupons like west elm/pottery barn does. Seriously id shop here even more. I ordered an item online late last night for store pick up. It was in stock at the store so I expected to be able to pick up early today. As per order summary the estimated pick up time was 11 am to 12PM today. I didn't receive an email confirming the pickup but decided to visit the store at 12:30 PM anyway. I arrived at the store and informed one of salespersons I wanted to pick up an online order I'd placed. She looked at me stunned and said something like: "you ordered last night and expected to pick up today?" So I repeated to her that the item was available at the store. Another salesperson found the item I wanted and off I went. What I'd like to know is whether the first salesperson was aware of the same day pickup option? read more

In 24 hours I was disrespected twice by store sales associates who are VERY COMFORTABLE at being rude, disrespectful and wasting customer's time. I'm a customer of Crate and Barrel over 20 years and unfortunately the Manhasset Crate and Barrel is now my store because I recently moved to Long Island. It's a miracle this store is in business. Purchased items from my daughters bridal registry and the cashier took all of the wrong items off her registry (items I did not purchase). It took one week, three text messages, and one 40 minute phone call to make the corrections. They gave me a $20 gift card for my trouble. When I went back to use it, the two customers on line in front of me were having various problems with order pick ups and returns. The cashiers have no idea how to help without calling a manager. This store gives me anxiety and frustration. They have beautiful things but I can't take the emotional damage it does every time I go in the store. Every customer around me was furious. read more

I went to C&B looking for a dinning room set and found one I wanted and fell in love instantly. It was perfect for me...as a matter of fact I had a picture of it from years ago. I received excellent help; as a matter of fact I had two sales people help me. Both very professional and knowledgable...I really recomend Christopher. I purchased the Dinning Room set. I went home happy. My challenge was with the Delivery people...maybe I misunderstood, but I didn't realize they wouldn't empty the furniture out of the boxes and take the boxes with them. This location hardly ever has a flood of customers so its unclear to me why the associates at this aren't maintaining the floor as they should. I stopped by on a weekday to do some shopping and as I walked over to one of the displays of dishes and looked down ( not touched a single thing) a large dish from the very top shelf to my right came crashing down on me, hitting my shoulder. It was frighting to say the least. But what made it worse was the way the employees "didn't" handle the situation. It turned out the the wooden display that holds multiple dishes snapped at the front as a portion of it was hanging slightly off the shelf causing the dish to fall, hitting me and of course breaking. But it was assumed that I broke it and the employee that approached me said "don't worry about it" followed by an after thought of "are you okay?".... We had to ask for a manager to address the issue, who was convinced that I was reaching for the dish which caused it to fall (not knowing what had happened), to which I suggested he check the camera to confirm since it was evidently so hard to believe the dish fell on its own. At some point he sarcastically offered to call an ambulance (jokingly). Sure, it may not be an open wound but if it fell right onto my skull, or say onto your elderly mother.... I'm not so sure anyone would have found that as funny. I know things happen, and I also know that I'm lucky to have walked away with a bruised shoulder but not only would it have been nice if the store's employees handled this properly, not to mention not accusing injured customers in the first place. But at the very least check your display's to make sure they aren't half hanging off the top shelves. The manager also filed a "report" after I requested it and collected my email and phone number but I never received a confirmation or copy, which is odd because as he claimed the report was being sent to corporate - yet I never received any proof of that. Going forward I will be shopping at the Manhattan location whenever possible as they at least are professional and keep the store displays in check despite the large volume of shoppers. read more

I am writing this letter to you with great regret and sheer disappointment and thus would like to register a complaint with your company Crate and Barrel. I did not want to have to put the pen to the paper however I am at a loss of words for the poor customer service that I have dealt with for the past 10 months. I have exhausted all means by trying to contact the Manhasset Store, leaving voicemail after voicemail and even leaving my name and number for a supervisor of some sort to contact me back. That led to no avail, which now brings me to today. It started on July 24, 2021 when I placed an order for a Pacific Sofa with the intentions that it would be delivered in November in time for the holidays. When November came around and the sofa had not yet been delivered, never once did the saleswoman or another employee reach out to tell me that it would be delayed due to covid-19 restrictions. We were left without a sofa for the entire holiday season. Which then led into the New Year. I reached out to the store and they had told me that the new estimated delivery date would now be the end of January. Sure enough when January strolled around my sofa was still not ready to be delivered. Numerous phone calls later asking for an update, I finally was able to get through to somebody at the store and they had told me the middle of February is the latest update. Debating whether or not to cancel my order, I decided to stick with it as I had waited this long already. When the date came and I still did not receive a phone call regarding my sofa, I had to reach out AGAIN. Being a company with this highly of a reputation I would expect better customer service and more transparency. Fast forward to the beginning of April I still did not have my sofa. This is now 5 months past the promised delivery date. I contacted the store again and after leaving numerous requests for someone to contact me back I did not receive any update. I was left in limbo as to when I would be receiving my sofa. Part of my decision process was particularly stipulated intended for prompt delivery. My sofa FINALLY got delivered on April 22, 2022. That is 5 and a half months after the promised delivery date. If I had known that it would of taken this long I would have cancelled my order a long time ago and went with a different company. I was then told that in order to receive some sort of compensation for having to wait so long I would have to receive my sofa first. The moment I received my sofa I called up once again searching for answers. None of the employees who had answered the phone were able to help. I then left a message with one of the employees to have a supervisor contact me. That was on April 30th, 2022. It is now May 4th, and I still have yet to receive a phone call. It would be in your best interest to insist upon greater promptitude in regards to deliveries. Otherwise I will likely be compelled to place my orders with your competitor who is going to be more translucent and give the delivery with a stipulated time. I look forward to hearing from you about this on going predicament. read more

Overall terrible experience. First the staff are only interested in signing you up for the store credit card instead of helping with any furniture sales. The "furniture expert" Kim I dealt with was useless, I practically had to convince her to sell me two couches. I specifically picked fabrics that were in stock and due to be delivered in May. Well several delays later C&B still can't get me a realistic time frame, saying they are not sure when they will be available, so I cancelled my order. Spend your money somewhere else read more

I went to the store today to return a few items off my registry and it was honestly the most horrible experience. The person who was at the register needed help from the manager, Travis because they weren't able to complete the return on their own. The manager, Travis told me I was unable to return the items unless I had a receipt. I was confused as I had provided him my registry number where he would be able to locate the orders by looking at my registry. He left me at the register and went to go hide in the store. I waited by the register as another woman had come in to return an item off her registry. I looked and asked to see if she had a receipt or return label and she said no and said she had processed many returns off her registry with no problem. They proceeded to complete her return and my mouth dropped. I began to tell the lady helping her how I did not understand why they are processing her return without a receipt and why they weren't able for me. I was absolutely frustrated and that is when the lady began to begin the return process for me. I had asked where the manager Travis went because I did not think it was professional for a manager to leave me at the register and go hide for a half hour. I had called the customer service letting them know what he had said and they did not understand why he was not allowing me to do the return. This was a horrible experience and he definitely needs to get some training because that is not how a manager should act. I did not expect this at Crate & Barrel. read more

RACIST RACIST RACIST. My sister and I were just here. We came completely dressed down because it has been raining all day and it's the weekend. There was a man and a woman helping us and another associate who had a customer decided to involve herself into our conversation. We were inquiring about the Design Trade discount, in which my sister is entitled to use from her job; she wanted to know the process. My sister has been buying furniture for her newly renovated house and was able to use the discount at CB2 which is the sister company to Crate & Barrel. This woman started to loudly scream and accuse my sister and I that we were stealing by trying to use the Design Trade discount. My sister's name was not registered on her company's account. However, the person listed on the account no longer works there, which shows the account has been outdated. This account was created over 10 years ago before my sister started working there. So instead of this woman politely saying, 'I'm sorry ma'am you need to register online, here are the steps', she said, 'you are STEALING'. We were truly embarrassed and I was almost in tears when I left the store because customers were staring. Ummmmm I'm pretty sure this can turn into a lawsuit if we took it there, all because of the COLOR of our skin. I am not one to pull the race card, but what happened here was clearly racism. We have the money to buy anything in that store in CASH if we wanted to, but of course if we can save money by using a discount in which my sister is entitled to, then why not? What's funny is that her customer was a white woman and she went out of her way to help her, only for her card to DECLINE, but for the people who were dressed down, she thought we were broke. I visited this location today around 4:45 pm to pick up a few items I had ordered online. The greeter advised I could look around while my order was being prepared. So I then told her I had a question, and needed some guidance about where I could find an item. She stated I could wait by the register for an associate. As I waited to the side for several minutes, my order had arrived from the stockroom, and the greeter was kind enough to radio an associate, that allowed me to inquire about a couch I was interested in. A male associate met me by the entrance, where I asked about the Oceanside 2-Piece Left-Arm couch. I pulled up a picture of the couch on my phone and stated that I saw it online and it says that you have a similar product in the store. I then asked if it would be possible to point me in the direction of the similar option. He then stated that everyone calls to inquire about this couch, that the store doesn't have it, he's never seen it and cannot answer questions about it. I then stated okay, I understand, do you think you can point me in the direction of something similar? He then stated how can I do that if I just told you we don't have that couch and I don't know what it looks like. This Crate and Barrel is located in the Americana Manhasset Shopping strip mall along the Miracle Mile. Crate and Barrel is a great home goods store ranging from glasses to office furniture. There are not many around, but this location has been the best of the ones I've been to. While replacing the glassware in my home a few months back, a gentleman named Daniel helped me find what I needed and take care of packaging everything and basically had all my stuff wrapped up before I even got to the register. He was knowledgeable and courteous. The store is always well stocked, clean and they have great products. Sure, you can go to target and probably buy a box of 4 glasses for the price of 2 at Crate and Barrel, but the quality won't be the same. Parking lot out front. read more

Disclaimer: This review is not intended to target Crate & Barrel products, but the customer service, specifically that of the Mahasset Branch. I ordered a sectional from the Manhasset C&B and, although I loved my sectional piece, what I had to go through to get it was absolutely ridiculous. First, they mischeduled the delivery date due to incompetence from one of the sales people. Not only did they not apologize for this mistake (which caused me to take time off from work), they never returned my phone call regarding the matter. When my couch finally arrived, it did not fit thorugh the elevator and had to be disassembled. The fact that it could not fit is of course not C&Bs fault, but they knew they were delivering to an address in the city, and you would think they would have warned me to measure my elevator. Had that been the case, the whole delivery process would have been much more efficient, as I would of had a disassembly service lined up. I had to use the service they recommended, which was fine, but would have preferred to shop around for prices. Latest issue is that a sectional clip is missing. Everytime I call the store, none of the incompetent people answering the phone can help me, so they pass me along to the store manager's voicemail. She never returns my call. Fun. To be fair, Corporate Customer Service has been extremely efficient. Big thumbs down to the Manhasset store. If you ever have an actual problem, you will be sorely dissappointed. read more

Great branch and helpful staff. My chick was looking for a particular set of curtains from Crate and Barrel and she couldn't find them anywhere. While this location was out of stock, they ran themselves ragged to find them at a different location even though they were obviously very busy with other customers. Impeccable service. read more

The Americana Manhasset is filled with those who have more money than God can print and want to make sure that everyone knows it. The luxury car show in the parking lot gives that away. So one should expect that the products here are of the highest quality and come with price tags to match. My wife purchased bone China mugs from this place because she "rolls deep." In addition to the mugs, I also had to pay for plates and bowls. The people who work here are so nice. Too nice. In fact, so nice that waiting in line to pay for items can be quite a pain. We almost walked out and ordered online. Tip: feel the items you like, take photographs of product names, and, if the lines are too long, order online. Life's too short to be standing in line during precious weekend hours. read more

We bought some furniture that needed to be returned. By the time the furniture was processed a ton of interest had hit the crate and barrel card. As a matter of fact, it took over 2 months. So the interest was a lot. The answer I got was I should have paid t he card, Pay what? That was the only charge and it was returned within the 30 days. I Called multiple times to address the issues, and no call back etc. What a joke. Never again. read more
