Jane suggested we place the order to lock in the sale prices. She told me to call her direct once I'm approved for the arhaus card. She would then transfer the charge from my American Express to the arhaus card. Fast forward. I'm approved. Call Jane. She was able to refund my card and put the entire purchase on my new Arhaus card within minutes. I also changed my mind on a fabric and Jane...to the rescue. Online ordering is convenient but ordering through a sales associate (especially a really knowledgeable and helpful one like Jane) is highly recommended. Jane and I have communicated over 10 times in the past few weeks. She couldn't have been more helpful. The salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted good, but it was nothing memorable. To be completely honest, it felt like something I could (and likely have) made at home. Well executed, just not special. Where the experience really fell apart for us was the service. Our server was absent for much of the meal and rarely checked back in. After we finished our entrées, he returned to clear the plates and apologized, explaining that he had been speaking with his manager. While that could be true, I spent many years working in the food service industry, and it's hard for me to understand why a manager would pull a server away from an active table for a prolonged conversation. Maybe that's what happened -- but regardless, it was a significant miss. Between the soggy salad, the standard salmon, and the spotty table service, I don't think we'll be returning. There are simply too many other places where a $200+ dinner feels more justified and better executed. I truly wanted to love this place -- the setting alone almost won me over -- but unfortunately, the overall experience didn't live up to the atmosphere.

When I reached out to West Elm customer support, I was told they couldn't do anything because I was past their 60-day replacement window. That might make sense for a minor return, but not for furniture that's literally disintegrating within months of purchase. For a "premium" brand charging these prices, that response is completely unacceptable. I chose West Elm because I thought I was investing in quality craftsmanship and good customer service. Instead, I've been left with a defective dining set and no help whatsoever. I'll think twice before ever buying from West Elm again and I'd strongly suggest others do the same unless the company starts standing behind the products it sells.
