We used to order pizzas from here quite often in the past, and for some reason we stopped. It's been 1-2 years since we've been here, and we were craving pizza recently so we ordered two pizzas to go. One of the reasons I liked this place so much is because they offer gluten free (GF) pizza. I try to eat GF when I can. Their GF crust used to be thin, crunchy and tasty. I really couldn't tell that it was GF before. On our most recent pizza purchase, I took one bite of a GF slice and it was terrible. The crust was soggy and tasteless. The toppings were good though, and my hubby enjoyed his non-GF pizza, therefore the 3 stars. Another thing we used to like about this place was their daily specials. We were happy to see that they still offer them. You can get some really good deals! This pizza place is located off of Los Alisos Blvd and Marguerite. Same shopping plaza as Piccolino Italian restaurant, and lots of free parking is available. It's a fairly large pizza place and I can see how it'd be a great place for parties or gatherings. I would return in the future, but not for the GF pizza.

Went to ballpark with my son's baseball team and parents and had a great time. The place had a great pizza joint vibe. Plenty of TVs playing playoff baseball. Plenty of tables for all the kids and parents and plenty of good pizza, wings, and pitchers beer. What stole the show was actually the gluten free pizza and how good the crust was. Good times and great memories!

Gosh dammit- waited over 45 mins for a to go pizza and salad. NOT OKAY- not happy! Considering the place was packed and three parties that arrived way after me got their food! Even told the owner I wasn't happy and wasn't okay. And there was no response. Get it together!

I forget this place is here and am always happy I remember it is. It's a fun, casual sports bar pizza joint. There is lots of seating and large screen TV's everywhere. Perfect place to watch all of your games. You order at a counter and they bring the food out to you. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful and the food comes out quickly. They have a good selection of commercial and craft beers. They also have a lot of basic wines for those who don't want beer. The prices are very affordable so it makes for a great family spot or inexpensive group outing. The pizza here has crispy thin crust and is perfectly baked. We all love their pizza, especially the Triple Crown with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. We'll be back and will try some of the other pizza toppings, as well as other dishes.

Be going to BP pizza for over 30 years, they make an amazing pizza, the meatball sandwhich is no joke The service is amazing, treat you like family, Jim has created an amazing place. The atmosphere is super family friendly, the memorabilia on the walls is cool, I remember the old RSM location, Laguna Niguel was the OG spot for me. Great pizza and great people! read more

I'm leaving a one-star review because of the way my 6-year-old was treated by an employee (pictured). My son's t-ball team finished the season and the head coach organized a mini pizza banquet and Ball Park Pizza was chosen as the venue. I was excited for some good pizza as were all the children. The parents enjoyed the food and the kids played as 5- and 6-year-olds do. They discovered the quarter machines that dispensed various little toys and trinkets. My son had accumulated a handful of little figurines and had them lined up neatly on the table that he and his friends were seated at. He was proud of them. And then, the young lady employee came by, swept them up, and quite literally threw them into the trash can. We could not even salvage them because immediately after she did that, another employee came and threw a pile of dirty plates right on top of them. Why in the world would she do that? My son immediately began crying. The young lady could not care less. Prior to her doing this, she had scolded the children as they were playing in the empty dining area (it was almost 8pm - when they close). She had also spoken to a mom in a stern manner regarding the children. The children were not behaving disrespectfully or destructively. They were acting like typical 5- and 6-year-olds. The employee was clearly unhappy about something. As a group, we were nothing but nice to her so her anger and discontent were misplaced. Also, what could a shy little 6-year-old boy have done to her for her to treat him that way? My son was crying by my wife's side when I heard that this incident took place. My wife was upset because she witnessed the manner in which our son's little toys were thrown away. One of the managers was informed of this incident and she tried her very best to "fix" the problem but when one sees his young child weeping because of something a careless (and malicious in my opinion) adult decided to do to him, there is no way to rectify that situation. Something made her angry and she took it out on my son. She can treat me however she pleases. I'm grown. But it takes a special kind of human to treat a 6-year-old in such a terrible manner. I give the manager credit for accepting responsibility for her employee's conduct. The manager was genuine. She offered me complimentary items but I was not interested in any of it, especially since I had no intention of ever coming back. On the drive home, we had to explain to my son that there was absolutely no reasonable explanation for the way she treated him. He could not comprehend that an adult could treat him so poorly. How does one explain such an unjustified and horrible behavior to a 6-year-old? I suppose he learned a valuable lesson today. Until today, he had never met an adult that treated him like he was of no value. I will never go back to this restaurant unless our next team decides to do a get-together here and even then I would likely choose not to attend. That employee should be ashamed of herself. People often downplay poor behaviors of their children but my son is not that kid. He is very polite and rather quiet. I am furious that an adult would treat a very young child that way. Really love the pizza here but the service lacks. Tried to call in an order for delivery on a Wednesday night and was asked to wait on hold to confirm they could deliver to my address. Waited on hold for 11 minutes and ordered from another local pizza spot in that time. Really wish they had online ordering. read more

I went here for for take out pizza and this place is a total mess. I ordered 4 large pizza's and and they only give one very small cup of ranch for each pizza! Is ranch dressing expensive? what a joke! every other pizza place has unlimited ranch. in my opinion this place is outdated and not in tune with the times. maybe some day with new management they will get a clue. I will never go back! read more

Food was good, we were having a nice night... until the very end. Our group had seven kids, all 7 or younger. They did get pretty loud and were running around at the end, but it was almost closing time and there were maybe only one or two parties still there. I get it, not everybody loves kids and their noise can be annoying. One female employee was clearly pissed off and was snapping at the kids and at one of our moms. She could have been nicer about it, but I really wouldn't even be upset about that. But then SHE GRABS THE TOYS OUR KIDS BOUGHT FROM THE TOY MACHINES AND THROWS THEM IN THE GARBAGE. And no, it wasn't an honest mistake because I watched her do it with my own eyes. She was making faces, shooting dirty looks at all of us, before spitefully scooping up the toys and throwing them in the trash, and then dumping a giant pile of plates and food on top. I should have stopped her but I was honestly just in disbelief at what I was seeing. My six year old son was sobbing, "That worker threw my toys in the trash!" That's maybe the meanest possible thing you could do to a little kid. If you hate kids so much, go work at a bar. read more

Best pizza ever! Came in for lunch, had my favorite the "Triple Crown" and got a caesar salad as well. Disappointingly not a traditional caesar salad, however still yummy. Service is great and very accommodating. Definitely a spot you come back to. read more

Pizza soggy. Kind of different. We have been eating here for years. The last few times it has been really going down hill. The bread was still great. The staff was great as always that's why they still get 3 stars. The owner is and always has been a good guy. I know he doesn't or most likely doesn't read these. But a pepperoni and sausage pizza should never be SOGGY. Really bummed my wife and I out. We will give it one more try to see how it goes. After that we are done. read more

Absolutely love Ballpark Pizza!! Amazing atmosphere with great service- Super family oriented and or if you just wanna hang with the guys and gals. The pizza (any kind you get) speaks volumes in your first bite! i'm not a fan of anchovies but when your husband is and it's on half of the pizza- if a little of it gets on your side of it - (here i don't mind it at all! ) it's still so delicious! i look forward to coming whenever we are in the area. I wasn't expecting much, but this place really surprised me. Pizza was excellent and they aren't chinsy with the toppings. I love their crust, thin and crispy. We've been here a few times already and we love their pizza! Generous with toppings, where each bite is balanced. The crust is also perfectly crisp, I have no idea how they keep it so crunchy! They have different specials each day. Monday and Tuesday are our go-to days where they take 10% off on Mondays and buy one get the second half off on Tuesdays. Happy hour goes until 6pm on weekdays, with discounted drinks and appetizers. Service is always quick and helpful. Plenty of parking in this sleepy strip mall. read more

Stopped by here on a whim and what a neat little spot. Ordered the Grand Slam Pizza which is basically their supreme with all the goods and a cheese and pepperoni! The Grand Slam pizza is like a mix of almost deep dish in a sense but not meant to be. It's loaded with so many delicious toppings and almost has to be eaten with a fork. Like some pizzas, they are better the next day and this is one of those for me. I actually liked it a lot better the next day after re heating. The cheese and pepperoni were great and as advertised. The coolest thing about this place is the decor inside. It's all about sports yet has a very nostalgic feeling for anyone ever a part of team sports growing up. I think it was pretty neat to see all the local and national team sports that are represented on the wall. Very cool. Great place to grab a slice and beer and just hang out! read more

Our HOA wanted to throw a party for our residents this year, and being that I already love Ballpark Pizza Team's food, it was one of my first suggestions to the rest of the board. We needed to feed about 100 people. Jim and Brittany were great to work with. They made it so easy, from A-Z. They worked with us on timing, recommending how much to order, and more. Very professional and friendly; Just great people, period. Everyone loved the pizza; they couldn't get enough of it. The XL Pizzas were huge, and made it that much more fun, especially for this kiddos who were there. Thank you Jim, Brittany, and the rest of the team for helping make our 1st Annual HOA End-of-Summer Party perfect! read more

This pizza and establishment has been my favorite since I was young, a lot of memories going back to the first location in Rancho Santa Margarita. The service, discounts and ambiance is next level! They have the best pizza in town. My group of pickleball friends go here every Monday night after we play. The prices are awesome you get 5% off on Mondays. They have delicious hot wings sandwiches nachos salads everything is so good. Shout out to the owner he's the greatest very friendly accommodating and their employees are so nice and sweet! They do raffles on Mondays night football and our group has won several times it's so fun hanging out with great friends food and drinks. It's so good we'll be there for Super Bowl too can't wait! read more

We are a sports themed pizza parlor that caters to all sports teams in the surrounding areas. We work hard to serve great pizzas with the freshest ingredients around. We have a great catering menu for business lunches or team events. WARNING: Friday nights are know to be crazy busy, loud and have kids running around playing games. So if you are looking for a quiet dinner spot you may want to try us on a weeknight instead.

Meet the Manager: Jim P.

Jim has been operating BallPark Pizza Team's in different locations for the past 30+ years. It started as a college senior project and has become Jim Poettgen's life. Jim grew up in Santa Ana and Mission Viejo, CA. He went to La Paz Jr. High and then to Mater Dei High School where he lettered in football, basketball and track. After high school Jim went to Saddleback Community College for two years, where he continued playing football. He was all conference both years, as well as, 1st team All-American one year. Saddleback helped Jim to move on to Cal Poly Pomona where he continued his football legacy by leading the nation in interceptions. Jim graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. His interest in restaurants began at age 13, when he got his first job at the Mission Viejo Country Club. Jim has now worked in restaurants for more than 40 years.

Only takeaway is that one of the employees was being super loud with his friends who visited him, thought it was a bit rude as a customer visiting and seeing that.

I recently visited Ballpark Pizza in Mission Viejo and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! As an avid pizza reviewer, I am always on the lookout for a great pie and this place delivered. The fries were delicious, especially when ordered Irish style which includes cheese and bacon melted on top. I also ordered a large grand slam pizza, which was loaded with toppings including green pepper, black olives, hamburger, pepperoni, onions, cheese, mushrooms and more. Although the thickness of the toppings were a bit overwhelming and they would slide off, making it a bit difficult to eat, the flavor was still tasty. The crust and sauce were also good, and the amount of flop in the crust was not a deal breaker. My girlfriend had the gluten-free Hat Trick pizza which was loaded with Canadian bacon, pineapple, pepperoni, and cheese. It too was was delicious and even as a gluten-free option it was above average for its crust. She loved it and was impressed with the quality of the gluten-free crust. The ambience of the place was fun, it had a sports bar vibe and was comfortable and cozy. The service was also top notch, our waiter was friendly and attentive. The seating area was spacious and clean, and there was plenty of parking. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Ballpark Pizza in Mission Viejo for a great pizza experience with a wide variety of ingredients to choose from. The menu is huge, the atmosphere is pleasant, the service is excellent and the parking is convenient. The grand slam pizza was a bit challenging to eat but the flavor was good, and my girlfriend's gluten-free Hat Trick pizza was great too. Awesome, friendly, smiling staff Jim- the owner is so friendly and will even sit with the customers for a minute and get to know them. The pizza is amazing. I always order a slice with pepperoni, garlic, tomatoes, and peppercinis. AMAZING. oh and their homemade ranch? to-die-for. I always buy a large to go cup to put in my fridge at home for salads or what have you. The nachos and the wings are also really amazing. although, my personal preference is to put the wings through a second time to make them a little crispy. The sweet chili is the best sauce for the wings. The atmosphere is very casual. there is a small arcade for the kids to play in and there's a couple good beers on draft for the adults. There are probably about 10 TVs in the little place so no matter where you sit you can catch a game. All in all, the place is like a big family and I love stopping by at least once every couple weeks for a brew and a slice. read more

BallPark Pizza Team in MV is my place to hang out and enjoy. I order the medium Grand Slam knowing that I'm getting the best and tastiest pizza around and that I'll have something special to take home for the next day. The service is great and with a smile. I can watch several channels of sports in a wonderful sports atmosphere. I have been there early when it's quiet and during the hectic hours when everyone seems to want to fill the BallPark! It's fun watching families come in with their kids bouncing towards the videos and parents relaxing with a great selection of beers. Like I said, it's my place to hang out! read more

5 stars for great pizza, 1 star for brash staff who don't listen. We ordered pizza online and went to pick it up. It was on time and it was delicious. When I got there, I saw a big sign that said "second pizza half off on Tuesday". I said to the lady, "wow if you had told me that when I called in my order, I would've got a second pizza". She said "we don't promote our specials because we don't like to promote things to customers that they don't want". Have only been here once, so I could have just come at an off hour, but granted half the place is an arcade...kind of felt like a less "cheesy" chuckecheese. Tons of kids running around yelling, so I wouldn't recommend this place if you're trying to have adult time or a date etc. We sat outside to avoid the chaos inside and the pizza and wings were just mediocre. You can tell the wings were frozen and the pizza was just decent at best. I believe a 3.5 star would be a true review but you can tell it's a local spot, so that's why I believe they deserve a 4 - trying to support local small businesses. read more

You can't find better pizza then ball park, I grew up going to the ball park in rancho and even though it has moved it is still my go to pizza place! I can't tell you if it's the crust, the sauce, the cheese or the way it is baked that makes it so good. My favorite pizza by far! read more

Best pizza in the RSM/Mission Viejo area by far. Spaghetti and salads are excellent too. Forget about going to the chain pizza places - go here instead. If you call in a pick up order, they'll have it ready in 15 minutes. Easy access off the 241 Toll Road. read more
