Bought a fund raising coupon card for Lamppost and wanted to use it. This place is massive! We went on a Saturday for lunch and there were not a lot of people. But I can imagine this place being packed after school sports games and other similar event. One side is the regular dining area while the other side has what seems to be a brewery and bar. Saw that their menu has wine by the glasses too, which are well priced! They also have a small arcade area. We ordered one topping med pizza and added additional topping - pepperoni and sausage toppings. We also ordered a side of meatballs and cheese. Our food came quickly and they were good! This place is spacious! Good for team pizza dining or school get togethers. Clean and orderly when i went. Had pizza lunch and it was delish. The medium is good sized for 2-3 people. Had pepperoni and sausage pizza, and meatballs and cheese appetizers. I was surprised and satisfied at the quality of pizza in general and it was tasty too! Lots of seating, service was really great! Food was freshly made. We were here during the day on a random weekday. There were speakers on top of every table. While that's great for the right time/event, it was hard to figure out where to put my stroller without hurting my baby's hearing. Just a preference, wouldn't be an issue for most people. I knocked down a few stars for the quality of the food. While the pizza was made fresh, it was so greasy/heavy. Lifted the pizza and there was so much oil under the pizza and some of the ingredients itself tasted off. The buffalo wings had soggy skin and tasted/smelled like poultry that wasn't very fresh. It wasn't very crispy, felt boiled. I did like their marinara and would try a different pizza next time that isn't too heavy. A lot of beer on tap. So many good options. There are loads of choices for everyone, it's super family friendly and the owners are Lake Forest residents who are constantly giving back and helping their community. The service is great. Everyone here is very friendly and welcoming. The owners are often working and they hire local people as employees. There's plenty of chances to watch sports and hangout. This place is such a gem. The pizza is amazing and I especially loved the Linebacker. It's loaded with toppings and the crust is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and actually care about what they're serving. The combo appetizer plate was also so good and perfect for sharing. Everything came out hot and full of flavor. Since it's a brewery too, the beer is on another level. So fresh, cold, and it pairs perfectly with the food. We ordered from DoorDash. We were hosting a party and needed a couple of pizzas, and luckily for us, Lamppost Pizza is just down the street. The pizzas arrived pristine, thanks to our DoorDash driver. It also arrived HOT. We ordered two large pizzas -- one with cheese, the other with pepperoni. Very simple. I really liked the dough. It was nice and fluffy. There could have been a touch more sauce, but in general, sauce tasted pretty good. Homemade. Toppings and cheese were excellent, and the crust was top notch. Great for regulars, frustrating for sports fans I came to Lamppost Pizza & Brewery in Lake Forest alone to watch the US Men's World Cup game kickoff at 5 PM, arriving an hour early to secure a spot. The place was already packed, and every seat and table was taken or spoken for. I noticed two prime seats in the middle of the bar that sat completely empty for over two hours, saved only by a half-empty beer and a water glass with coasters on top. At halftime, I pointed out the empty seats to a standing couple, but the bartender dismissed it, claiming the guests were just "in the bathroom"--for two hours. I later found out from a neighbor that a Happy Hour regular was sitting at a completely different table, holding those premium bar seats for himself and a girlfriend who hadn't even arrived yet.While a friendly customer eventually gifted me her seat when she left, management clearly prioritizes a small circle of "bar flies" over fair, first-come, first-served seating for major events. If you aren't an insider, expect poor enforcement of basic bar etiquette. It feels like they are actively striving to become Lake Forest's newest dive bar. read more
