We ordered from DoorDash. We were hosting a party and needed a couple of pizzas, and luckily for us, Lamppost Pizza is just down the street. The pizzas arrived pristine, thanks to our DoorDash driver. It also arrived HOT. We ordered two large pizzas -- one with cheese, the other with pepperoni. Very simple. I really liked the dough. It was nice and fluffy. There could have been a touch more sauce, but in general, sauce tasted pretty good. Homemade. Toppings and cheese were excellent, and the crust was top notch. There are loads of choices for everyone, it's super family friendly and the owners are Lake Forest residents who are constantly giving back and helping their community. The service is great. Everyone here is very friendly and welcoming. The owners are often working and they hire local people as employees. There's plenty of chances to watch sports and hangout. This new bar and pizza spot has a really fun setup and atmosphere. It's split into two sides -- one that's more casual and family-friendly, and the other that's a full-on sports bar with a patio, lots of TVs, and plenty of seating. We even ended up sharing a table with another group who were super friendly, which made the whole experience feel welcoming and community-driven. The crowd was energetic and clearly excited about the new location. They have a decent variety of beers and other beverages, but the cocktails are all canned and made with a wine-based liqueur instead of real spirits, which was a little disappointing. Hopefully, they'll get a liquor license soon because that would really take things up a notch. The beer selection itself was okay, but I'd love to see them expand it with more local or craft options. Service-wise, it was fine, but we did ask three different people for waters and never got them, which was kind of frustrating. For food, we ordered french fries, an Italian sub, and a chicken garlic pizza to go. The fries were honestly the best part -- hot, crispy, and flavorful. The sandwich was decent with plenty of protein, but it lacked seasoning and sauce. The pizza, unfortunately, missed the mark. The garlic sauce had no flavor, the chicken tasted pre-cooked and came in thick slices, and the veggies were cut into huge chunks that overpowered everything. I actually ended up taking it home and doctoring it a bit to make it taste better. I was expecting shredded or fresh chicken chunks - I'm not sure where they source theirs. Overall, the vibe here is great -- fun, lively, and definitely a good hangout spot, especially when there's a game on. The bar area is lively and well-designed (I love how the bar opens up to the outside with that big roll-up door--it gives the place such a cool, open feel) . It has a nice patio area and an adult atmosphere. However, i found out I needed to go to the right. That's the restaurant and pick up side. It was clean and inviting. It has the feel of a locally owned place and not a corporate store front. The staff was friendly and took the time to explain how they used a bit of olive oil because I asked for crispier crust. The pizza was good looking and tasty. I ordered cheese but may start experimenting with toppings now i have tried it. We were so excited to see a Lamppost Pizza in the area. The service was not the greatest, ordered two sandwiches and mozzarella sticks to go. We came before their rush and watched a number of tables get their pizza and other food ahead of ours. We sat by the register waiting for our food and come to find out it was sitting behind the counter for over ten minutes. We went home with cold food and not so much of a conversation with their manager. The staff was super apologetic, but they need to work on their communication among each other. This place is amazing! Some of the best pizza in town and I love their wings!!! Only one flavor but the wings are always amazing and the pizza kills it. Manager sat other people before us and said it's first come first serve even though we'd been waiting for over 15 minutes for a table to open. Manager was rude and didn't care about making it right when I said the service was TERRIBLE.
