The Brooks Street was a Turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich on a really fresh, soft yet chewy roll. The Trestles was full of thick cut, flavorful roast beef. Both are served with a side pickle spear. I was craving a sandwich, wanted to try something new, and support a small business. We came by right before closing, around 3:15pm on a Saturday. The older couple running the place were just the cutest, super sweet and accommodating. We probably walked in about five minutes before their actual closing time, and they were already cleaning up, but they insisted on helping us anyway (even though we would have totally understood if they didn't). We ordered the two vegetarian options on the menu. I especially loved the bread on the cold sandwich. It was fresh, soft, and slightly sweet. The veggie melt just needed a bit more salt, but I liked the hint of spice. Overall, good solid sandwiches, but nothing particularly standout. We paid about $30 for two sandwiches, one bag of chips, and a small tip. A bit pricey for what it was, but I appreciated that they use fresh, quality ingredients. Honestly, not sure I would go out of my way to come back (unless I was already in the area), but it was a nice experience and I'm glad we tried it. Second Reef is tucked in an unassuming plaza, you'll have to park and walk into it. It's the same plaza as pure hockey + Greek bistro. If you park near pure hockey and look over to the Greek bistro you'll see second reef! The customer service here is excellent and they are very helpful. I came after the lunch rush and got the chance to witness the care taken to make our sandwiches. You might think I'm overthinking what it takes to make a sandwich but not here. They didn't slap the food on the bread and quickly spread the aioli about. They didn't skimp on the produce or have parts of the bread barely covered with toppings. They took time to make sure it all fit and was made carefully so eat bite is satisfying. There is a ton to choose from here and even the fountain machine ice was exceptional. Bits of broken ice with cubes produced a faster chill to my Diet Coke than when it's just cubes. Didn't spill out either and overfill the cup with ice so I was pleasantly surprised. Not bad service is a little stoic but they get the job done here. Had an Italian sandwich, forgot the name, the one with three types of meat and provolone. Was rather bland but did the job. I can tell how good a sandwich is by how fast I eat and finish it. Normally, it takes me 2 minutes to finish a remarkable sandwich. Took me 10 minutes to finish this and I was hungry. Got the same sandwiches we did last time - the Brooks Street & the Varazze (italian). They were even better than I remembered. The padang Padang sandwich was pretty decent. I think this sandwhich could be better if it had something a little more crunch texture in it. But the sauce is really good sweet with a little kick on the back side. Mavericks is always a solid choice. Packed with goodness and that squaw bread is thick cut delicious. I decided to order the Brooks Street Sandwich. My husband ordered the Varazze Sandwich. And my daughter order the Brooks Street Sandwich as well. All 3 sandwiches are a MUST. I love how all of the ingredients are nice and fresh and the perfect lunch. While waiting for our order, the owner, who is very nice by the way, gave us Lays chips. We asked for toasted sandwiches, were told "they come toasted," and still ended up with cold sandwiches. No napkins, no bags, just two boxes handed over. Thankfully, an older staff member kindly offered us a bag to complete the order properly. At nearly $20 per sandwich, I expected better quality and at least some basic customer service. I was excited to try Second Reef Deli for the first time, but unfortunately, I never even got the chance. Their website says they're open until 4 PM daily, and Yelp lists 3:30 PM, so I made sure to leave work early and rush over on a Saturday at 3 PM, well before their stated closing time. When I walked in, I was immediately told they had already packed everything up and were closing early because they were slow. No apologies, no explanation--just a clear message that they were more concerned about leaving than serving a customer. The employees were rude and dismissive, offering no communication or consideration for the fact that I had made an effort to be there in time. If a business is going to arbitrarily close early, they should at least update their hours online or make it clear to customers. This experience left a terrible first impression, and unfortunately, I won't be giving them another chance. read more

Having been here now a couple times, it's quickly becoming my go-to when I have a sandwich craving to fill! My favorites are the pastrami sandwiches, both the grinder and the Ruben. The bread is always toasted perfectly, the pastrami super yummy and the balance of all the ingredients is perfect, never too much bread, or too much meat or too much fluff. The service is always great. My last visit an older gentleman was there with (I believe) his wife, and while I was waiting he walked around giving waiting patrons a bag of chips and and said "here's a bag of chips while you wait!" Now how awesome is that! I've had a few different sandwiches now and have not been disappointed. Great food, great service and a great price, what's not to love! read more

The strip mall it's located in is kind of empty, but the deli is clean inside and there are outdoor patio tables where you can enjoy your lunch! Sandwiches filled with a HUGE amount of veggies/meat/inside fillings are the best. This place does exactly that and more. The Mavericks sandwich has a ton of turkey slices, only 1 slice of cheese (perfect for me as I don't love cheese THAT much), and generous portions of sprouts and avocado. He looked so pissed off, didn't make eye contact and barely vocalized our total. When he was making my sandwich, he was slapping things on it and looked like he hated every minute of putting it together. He then sat it on the counter without calling out my name or anything.
