Very willing to help make the event special and help you make your event the way you want it. Everyone was very friendly. The facility has multiple different areas to utilize for tour event. And stairwells on multiple sides of building, which can be useful. In this case, my sister was able to go from the basement (where the dressing rooms are) all the way up two floors to the top floor (where the ceremony was) without anyone on the first or second floor seeing her. Very useful! I'm told the stairwells connect everything throughout the building, so you can move around the whole facility without anyone seeing you, if need be- useful in this case for sure. The DJ was great. The planning team was great. We loved the dance floor area and the bar was very nice and sleek. There is ample parking around the building. It takes a second to find but it's useful. And for your photos before and after a wedding, there are lots of good area nearby. There are a few parks within a black and lots of great spots along Spring St. My family definitely has no complaints about this venue!

Unfortunately, we were one of the last slots of the day and Smash Lab ran out of electronics to destroy before we got there. They offered us more glass items to smash instead. One thing to note is that you can bring your own items to smash- glass bottles, electronics, whatever. I also recommend putting together a playlist before you get to Smash Lab because you get to connect your phone to your smash room speaker.

We booked the Heavy Group Smackage for up to six people, which was supposed to include 50 glass breakables, 2 small electronics, and 2 large electronics. Which part of me didn't understand for the price that we paid, but I'm glad we were given that opportunity for reasons I will share below. When we got into the room, it was already cluttered with leftover debris from previous groups, which immediately made it feel unprepared and rushed. On top of that, the room wasn't set up with any of our items when we arrived (the employee was sitting in her car when we got there), so we lost a noticeable portion of our paid time waiting for things to be brought in--meaning we didn't actually get the full 50 minutes we paid for. The biggest letdown was the item selection: their idea of "two small electronics" was literally two computer mice, which feels misleading at best. The large items--a TV and a PC tower--were acceptable, but that was about it. We did get a selection of glass items in a tote, but they were all pretty small and we had to set them up ourselves. If we hadn't brought several of our own larger items, there's no way we would have had enough to entertain 6 people for the allotted time, let alone feel like we got our money's worth. There was also nothing useful to set items on--just an old tire--making the setup awkward and frustrating (other facilities have platforms of varying sizes). Overall, for $160, this felt like a very poor value and not at all what was advertised. A rage room should feel stocked, intentional, and stress-relieving--not like you're paying to finish off someone else's leftovers. I wouldn't book this package again unless they seriously improve the setup and item quality.

We were fortunate to get tickets months ago for a show that easily sold out and opening night was fantastic. Actors were terrific as always. Singing, dancing, and dialogue delivery are all very entertaining. Set design and costumes along with the lighting and audio are all top notch. Stadium style seating is fairly comfortable, but definitely grateful for intermission to be able to stretch and move around a bit. Theater is nicely sized to enjoy views from any seat in the venue. When you walk into CenterStage, you might at first feel like you've taken a trip back in time -- to…read morehigh school. The theater looks very similar to my high school's auditorium, with large polyester curtains covering the windows and the audience sitting on risers. But don't let that stop you! The talent I've seen come out of this theater -- which has created a name for itself over its past 100 SEASONS (wow!) for performing Broadway musicals -- rivals performances I've seen in New York and Chicago. The casts are truly phenomenal and fully committed to their characters. "Community theater" does not adequately fit this awesome establishment. They're so good that you'll easily forget you're in an auditorium and become sucked into the production. And they really make the most of the stage with inventive sets. I saw my first CenterStage production earlier this year with "Spring Awakening," a very raw and edgy play that explored such topics as rape, puberty, incest, abortion and teen suicide. And as the artistic director said before the play started, CenterStage does not shy away from avant-garde or controversial productions. They don't change a play to make it more PC but use that as fodder to explore more profound and adult subjects. I like that! And full disclosure: I was comped a ticket to see "Spring Awakening," so I wanted to make a return visit -- with me paying my own way -- before writing a review. Happily, I was able to do that this last week, when I saw "Sweeney Todd." This is another one that has a bit of an edge, though I admit their production was not gruesome just for gruesome's sake. They handled -- ya know -- Sweeney Todd cutting men's throats with his straight razor thoughtfully. There wasn't spurting blood, but rather, the shock value came from the actors' performances -- perhaps as it should be. I also like that CenterStage partners with non-profits on most of its productions. At "Spring Awakening," the theater raised funds for the Center for Women and Families. During "Sweeney Todd," the theater was raising funds for itself -- and more specifically, replacements for those ghastly curtains! Bravo! But they could put up paisley bed sheets over the windows if they wanted to -- I would still gladly come to their shows.

She is a great resource as a day of venue coordinator (you want this service, trust me!!) and is readily available for questions and tours. The barn is pretty big, has tables, chairs, and decorations if you don't want to do your own decorations (worth it!!) and the best parts ... concrete flooring AND real bathrooms! (So many barn venues lack both of these. You WANT these.) This barn is a great venue for all your party/wedding needs. 12/10 recommend for sure!

The main buildings sit back from the road but their entrance and signage are fairly easy to spot on Frankfort Ave. I also appreciate the ample parking near the main building. Several steps lead to the front door so check with the Olmstead's team if you need a ramp. If needed, a coat check is in the lobby. The main foyer sits in the middle of two ballrooms. For conferences and weddings they can utilize both sides - i.e. one side for speakers / ceremony and another for lunches / reception. A stage is available and at one wedding the ceiling was beautifully decorated. Food is fairly basic but I've always enjoyed it. Servers came around regularly to clear plates and restock drinks. Bathrooms are located off the foyer and have a few stalls to manage a crowd. Outside the main building offers outside seating and lots of greenery. No issue with sound, whether it's speakers hooked up to wireless mics or DJs and classical ensembles. The screen projection for conferences is very clear too. My only issue is seating when attending a conference. The chairs are metal and not comfortable during a full-day session.

Stage One has recently tucked Walden Theatre under their brand umbrella, another long standing group of 50 years. It's making their season schedule robust for families. You can purchase tickets by selected shows or as a subscription. As a non-profit, you can also support them by donation and help expose children to stories and theater. If you have young children in your life, I encourage you to treat them to this experience.

My personal opinion, I think sections A&B as well as E&F offer some of the better viewing options. Seating is first come, first serve so if you'd like a closer seat get there a smidge early. There are refreshments you can buy prior to the show and take them with you inside the theater. Overall, the play was great, staff helpful, and the experience just amazing. Parking is up to you as far as where you decide. If you park in the garage below the theater it's about $10. There is also street parking with meters. I opted to park about a 1/2block away and paid $5. I definitely will be on the lookout for future plays to come see and make a trip back!
