Luv My Pet - Dog Walking Rodgers Forge

We have had a great experience with Luv My Pet. We have a rescue Chihuahua with an abusive past who…read morehas some trouble trusting people, and he can be... a bit grumpy with strangers. We work long hours and were wary about scheduling walks with a service, but Kaitlyn from Luv My Pet has been so patient and loving with our guy (even though he sometimes barks at her), and their daily walks have really helped to socialize him. She even gets him to cuddle with her on occasion! We get a text message from Kaitlyn every day after their walk to let us know how he did, and sometimes we get pictures. Scheduling is so easy and convenient. We just email Jeff our schedule every month, he immediately sends us an invoice, and we pay online -- including a tip for Kaitlyn. Whenever something comes up, like if my work schedule suddenly changes or I stay home sick, I just text Kaitlyn to let her know. We are moving out of the area and are crushed that we can no longer use Luv My Pet for our pup. We would recommend their services to anyone in the city!

Luv My Pet is beyond the best! They have walked our dog Emilie for over four years and counting,…read moreand we recommend them to everyone. They are super responsible and have a great team, so we know a walk will never be cancelled. Even if our normal dog walker cannot make it, they schedule someone else, so we never have to worry that our dog will get walked! We can schedule, pay, change, and leave notes in the app, so it's super convenient as busy young professionals and new parents. Most importantly, their team is so caring. Luv My Pet has supported our senior dog through so many challenges - helping us to observe when she has had health issues of all varieties, offering encouragement and tips, and more. We cannot recommend Jeff and the team at Luv My Pet (especially our pup's bff and dogwalker, Hillary!) enough!

After his last great escape, I realized that he needed some exercise to break up the monotony of his day. I emailed Andy and he was kind enough to come out that day and meet Alfie (and us, the humans in Alfie's life.) Andy started coming the next day to run with Alfie and wear him out until we get home. It's only been a few weeks but so far, so good. Andy is a pleasure to deal with. He's communicative and great with both people and animals. We really can't thank him enough for everything he's done for us and for Alfie.

As always, he did a fabulous job - she was fed, entertained, and treated like the Royal Highness that she is. I had written some detailed instructions this time because of certain changes that had occurred since their last visit, and everything went smoothly and exactly as planned. To top it off, Dan actually let me know that I had overpaid them and said that he would credit my account for a future vacation - now that, my friends, is honesty. As far as I'm concerned, they can keep that money as a tip, because they surely deserve it. I am so glad that I selected Dog Day Afternoon as my pet sitting provider. As you can see by the other reviews, they're unmatched in both care and customer service.

They do have different items and brands that you may not find in your local pet food chain. They also have a grooming station, which I was advised to book ahead of time. There is parking right out front, but you can also park in the Harris Teeters parking lot as well. They did start doing monthly dog social events on the second Saturday of every month from 12 to 1:30 PM. I attended the St. Patrick's Day Social, which I found out about on their Facebook page. They were giving away a lot of freebies, including samples of pet food and treats, can lid covers, and doggie poop bags. They even had food for the customers (Jimmy Johns sandwiches, cupcakes, water and soda). This is definitely an event I plan to try to make every month.

I have purchased cat food here in the past and while I've since switched brands, I thought the value was pretty good. They even gave me a free sample to take home to my kitties. They have pretty much anything you could need for your pet including grooming services. Glad to see a locally owned pet store in this high traffic area!

When the male vet came in, he barely introduced himself. I tried explaining I'm new to cats and wasn't familiar with how vet visits go. He then asks me to "scruff him." I have no idea what that meant, I just said I'm new to cats. He seemed irritated and brought in a vet tech. I thought he was just going to look at his anal area, only to discover he was expressing my cat's anal glands. Did not explain to me what he was going to do nor what an anal gland expression entails. Then he tossed the pus covered paper towels into the trash, and missed. And left it there. I tried asking more questions and felt dismissed. At one point the vet literally just ignored me as he was writing notes. Oh, he listened to my cat's heart and lungs and said everything "sounded good." It's two months later at a different vet, and my cat has a heart murmur and asthma! I brought my cat back one more time for another anal gland expression. When I called ahead asking for the price, they told me it would be $20 + $5 vet tech fee. When it was time to pay, it was $30 or $35 + $5 vet tech fee. Felt like they were just pulling out random numbers. The vet techs were nice overall, but after all of that, I just got a weird vibe and won't be bringing him back.
