In that time, we've had nothing short of perfect service from the vet techs and the vets. They have been wonderful. Very clear. Very transparent. Very kind. My cat has adored them. This time--today-- I met with a senior vet tech (name unknown) and Dr. L about a dental issue. My cat had lost two front fangs. First, the cat was evaluated by senior vet tech name unknown, who weighed her, briefly looked in her mouth, and listened to her heart. Then, Dr. L came in. Dr. L took a thorough look into her mouth and said there was some inflammation; she should get a dental cleaning; and there may be part of a tooth left in one of the fangs that might need removal. He quoted an estimate of about $1500. He said it might take month to get an appointment because they were booked out. He left and senior vet tech came back with an estimate of $2400-$3100 with FOUR extractions. He also told us we could get in the next day. This was whiplash. I asked him go over the bill with me. I could not reconcile the vet citing one possible extraction and a cleaning with the vet tech citing a possible four extractions. He said that I could choose not to follow his recommendations but then, my cat would be in pain. I asked to speak with the vet. Dr. L again. Dr. L came back in with the practice manager, a woman I'd also never met. He said (contrary to what actually happened) that he'd barely looked in my cat's mouth. I asked him to look again and he refused to look into her mouth again because he didn't need to. He said that no one could know how many extractions she would need until she had xrays, which could not happen until she was sedated (understandable). He said that the estimate he gave was just an estimate too. I pointed out that it was a bait and switch. Dr. L and the practice manager protested. Dr. L said sarcastically that from now on he'd lead with the high estimate. I showed them that their files did not indicate any gingivitis in my cat and no one ever mentioned it. They said that is because no one looked thoroughly at her mouth. Huh? They told me several times that we did not have to do the surgery for the cat and I echoed what senior vet tech said, "if I didn't do it, my cat would be in pain." They agreed she would be and said senior vet tech was just being transparent. We went back and forth a few times before the practice manager declared the conversation non-productive and suggested I find a different vet to do the surgery since I clearly "did not trust them." It seems to me these particular individuals are running an office with a message "we only want to help you if you are rich." When I raised the issue of cost, they suggested, I shop around to other vets and perhaps go to the ASPCA because shelters also do dental work. I told them sadly that after six wonderful years with CHAT, I would be leaving to find my cat a new vet. Dr. Brunt, none of this is ok. My cat and I have come to your office yearly for six years and have never been treated with anything other than kindness and care. I am writing because I thought you should know.

So I started perusing the Barc's website, looking for someone new to sidetrack me, and to love. Once we were at the shelter, I let Jeremy pick out our new family members. He wanted an orange moron, since we've never had one of those, and a kitten... you go back and check out the three rooms of cages, write down who you want to meet, and they call you back to open the cages so you can handle the cat... see how it reacts, see how you react. First cage, first room, this skinny little tortie, with giant ears locked eyes with Jeremy and it was love at first sight. We named her Mazikeen Star... she's been with us for a week now and she's living up to her demon name in the best way possible. She's a snuggler, under the blankets, purring her ass off, happy as can be, lovebug. She's also already earned the name MaziQueen, because her two pound ass thinks she's in charge and isn't afraid to let our other two cats know it. Then, to complete the set, Jeremy also decided on the last cat, in the last cage. He's a orange and white fluffy loveable sweetheart. He was also sick. They tried to talk us out of taking him because he was being medicated and needed eye drops, but Jeremy started pouting and they relented. We still had to wait until the next day to pick them up because they needed to be spayed and neutered. Yesterday we took Cooper Sharp (our Creamsicle boy) to the vet and ran up a $500+ bill because he was still so congested it was clearly difficult for him to breathe and the medicine the shelter gave us had run out several days before. He sneezed bloody mucus all over Jeremy and so we took him in for an emergency appointment. They sent us home with nose drops, two different meds, and a bunch of other stuff. He has a respiratory infection, which is highly contagious. So much so that the vet and tech wore disposable gowns while handling him so they wouldn't infect the other patients. And they instructed us to wait outside until they had an exam room ready so we wouldn't be in the waiting room. When we left, we went through a side door. He's doing better today, and I hope by the time he finishes this round of meds, he'll be better than he ever was. I'm looking forward to spoiling these guys and giving them the best lives ever.

I began fostering a young dog from BARCS back in January…read more Had her for nearly 2 months before she was adopted. She was adopted by a family in mid March. I was instructed to bring her in for spaying before handing her over to the adopter family. Dropped off the dog early on the appointed morning for spaying and was told to return at 4pm to pick her up. Arrived to pick her up and she was brought out by an attendant, handed over to me and I was told she had already been spayed. It was obvious she had been sedated and was groggy and whimpering. Now, I had asked BARCS after I got her in January if she had already been spayed because it was obvious she had been shaved for surgery. Poor girl, they almost cut on her again for no reason. It gets better. The adopter family had her for less than 2 days before they contacted me wanting to get rid of her. She could be a handful and I knew how to handle her and had instructed them not to return her to BARCS or any other shelter. I took her back into my home and intended to keep her permanently. After she was adopted, she was no longer property of BARCS. A week ago, BARCS blows up my phone and email and wants her returned so they can do an intake on her. I question them about why and told them they had no rights to ownership any longer. Stupidly, I took her back to BARCS and was told she would be returned to me in 3 days. 3 days goes by and they tell me she has been adopted by another family. Monday evening (04/20) I look at their site and there she is available for fostering or adoption. Apparently, the family that adopted her could not have a pet where they lived. Was this true? I have my doubts. I reach out and tell them I will be down Tuesday morning to adopt her. Before leaving to go get her, I see an email from Veronika Graham informing me this animal has been placed in a "rescue shelter" and is not available to be adopted. Well, I smelled bullshit and told Veronika Graham as much. I questioned her how none of this adds up, but she has not and I do not expect a response from her. BARCS lied and removed an animal from a good home. Mine. On one hand, I respect an organization that does good things for animals in need. On the other, it is quite apparent one hand does not know what the other hand is doing there in their offices. I never should have returned this animal to these people. Now, I will most likely never see her again.

On top of that, the nurse tried to do a urine test from a sample he left on the floor, and later the doctor told her it was contaminated. It made me question how trained the staff really are. Then they labeled him as a sick pet even though they already told me to go to urgent care. And the last straw was when I tried to schedule a follow-up and the same girl said, "She can schedule it whenever she can afford it." That was so out of line. Who says that? My family and I moved to the Towson area from PG county earlier this year. Transferring from our previous office Union Vet in DC- whom we loved. Towson Veterinary Hospital is very convenient to our new home, and my hope was that we'd found a new home for vet care. I was incredibly wrong. Today I noticed that I was charged for a wellness visit after just having a wellness visit 3 weeks ago- this fee was assessed for booster shot administration, and apparently because it was a Saturday appt there was no way around it. The issue I have is that nobody in the office communicated this to me at the time I made the appointment. Nor did anyone tell me that I could have scheduled my dog for a tech visit on a weekday and avoid the fee. Upon calling them to communicate my concerns I was met with defensiveness and attitude from the front desk staff, Tiffany. Ultimately she gave me excuses as to why I was charged and told me it was my fault that I didn't book a tech visit. I asked for her name and the office managers name and she replied, they aren't in, the doctor is in a visit and I will have to wait for a call back- and she hung up the phone! I promptly called the office back and spoke with Rachel, a very kind member of the front desk staff, who has excellent customer service skills. She was very transparent about the issue and has assisted me with sorting things out. She will put me in contact with the office manager early next week and the expectation is that I will receive a refund for the wellness visit- that my dog didn't need- on Monday. Despite Rachel's efforts, I've requested my dogs records and I will not be returning to this office for future care. As a new member of the Towson community, I can confidently say I've had wonderful experiences thus far. This has been an exception to that and I can only advise that pet owners in the area AVOID!!!

I had heard good things about Warm & Fuzzy from a few family members and decided to try them out in the hopes of finding a little less expensive care than our previous vet. I was pleased with the care she received during our time there. All of the vets and vet techs that we interacted with seemed to handle her "spicy" behavior well and conducted themselves with compassion, even while she was growling and hissing at them. Unfortunately, my cat's condition continued to worsen and she was eventually diagnosed with cancer. We ultimately made the decision to have her put to sleep at Warm & Fuzzy just a few months after our first visit. Once again, everyone was very helpful and kind during what is such a difficult time. I greatly appreciated the empathy and understanding from all the staff involved and the seamlessness of the process. I was only disappointed with some of the limited availability I found in making appointments. I believe they're one of the only vet clinics providing exotic pet care in the area, which can make getting appointments with specific vets difficult as their spots fill quickly (though there were a few times where we were squeezed in between appointments so we could be seen sooner). They also only perform operations on Tuesdays, so there may be a longer wait for these procedures. Despite some of these frustrations, I was still satisfied overall, and would recommend this vet clinic to other pet owners.

We were VERY clear that we wanted medication to get rid of this itchy yeast. So she does a visual assessment and says "Well I was expecting to see her paws really red and inflamed. She looks in her ears and says the same thing, that it didn't look inflamed enough. In my head I'm thinking "So what are you saying Dr. my dogs paws and ears got to be burning red and severely inflamed before you says it's yeast despite the corn chip smell, the licking of the paws and the scratching of the ears? So she tries to give our dog a needle for allergies and we had to inform her that Princess doesn't have allergies. So then she tried to sell us some tick and heart medication...we declined we were adamant that this is yeast and we want ti get rid of this form of fungus. This doctor is saying because it doesn't look really red and inflamed it couldn't possibly be yeast. Imagine that. Never heard something so ridiculous in my life. So then she says well I will give her something for itching and some pads to wipe on her paws. We kept trying to tell her the yeast is in her eyes as well and when she licks her paws she is cross contaminating because I'm sure since yeast loves warm and moist environments it's on her tongue too . At some point me and my daughter felt we weren't getting anywhere with the communication. Here we are days later and she is still licking and rubbing her ears , no change whatsoever and we are out of $200+ dollars. If that was bad enough I call to speak to a doctor today and had the unfortunate luck of speaking with a Lisa. Lisa from the very beginning of the call told me that the pills should work. She literally argued with me and told me the pills should work. Then this Lisa told me I wasn't a doctor and it was possible I didn't know what I was talking about. Then Lisa went on to say that she was reading the doctors notes and told me the doctor mentioned nothing about yeast in her notes. Now I'm really boiling. I was already upset before I called. Then I felt like this Lisa was challenging me and going back and forth with me when all I want is for my dog to feel better , not to feel like I had to argue with Lisa to get my point across. After listening to her justify why the doctor did what she did when she isn't a doctor herself I asked what was her name because I couldn't believe the level of disrespect. She refused to give me her name and hung the phone up. After she hangs up on me I get a text message that said "We are sorry we couldn't get to your call please leave a message or email us." So now I'm thinking why would I get a text saying that?. So I call back and I'm trying to speak to another lady and out of nowhere I hear the phone being snatched and very loud and boisterous "Lisa" gets on the phone and says " Yes I'M THE ONE YOU WERE SPEAKING TO .......&&&&$:@@**£#£. And hung the phone up again. So not only is my dog still with this itchy yeast, I'm out of $200 bucks and then l get blasted from this "Lisa". Lisa was so confident with how loud she was talking to me it kind of gave me the vibe that her manner of speaking to upset patients is pretty acceptable and supported. All I would like is to get my $200 worth of tx. They can take these products back that they sold us and give us what we consistently kept asking for and that was anti-fungal medication for the yeast.

When he needed treatment for an ear infection around the same time he was due for vaccines, they helped me think through a plan to spread out the costs while still making sure he got everything he needed. I've also had a great experience with their pharmacy. The pharmacist was incredibly helpful and informative when we switched one of Max's prescriptions. My only minor inconvenience was that they no longer carry Simparica Trio in-house, but we were able to find an alternative that worked for us. Overall, everyone from the front desk to the veterinary team has been friendly, helpful, and sweet with Max. I'm glad we made the switch!

My baby is not simply my friend; he is family.

He broke his leg in February because of all the ice and they were the first place I went because they were closest. They immediately told me he would need surgery that they couldn't do. So I took him to Falls road for the surgery, but I was told that they could do his bandage changes afterwards. I took him here twice afterwards and they bandage changes they did along with the sedative they used ended up bothering him so they told me how to do the bandage changes myself and how often. I followed their instructions but this recent spike in humidity caused a bandage to get wet and I think the surgery incision started to get a little infected. I brought him in ASAP as I was instructed. I called ahead of time and came in at noon like they asked me to. This time I dealt with a vet I hadn't seen there before, who didn't even bother introducing himself. And literally the first thing this man had the audacity to say to me was "I'm confused about this" I explained how I had been doing the bandage changes as instructed by the other vet who works there and he proceeded to speak down to me like a child, eventually asking "why does your dog even have this incision" proving that he hadn't even looked at my dogs records. When I explained how he broke his leg and needed surgery, and how they should have his xrays on file, he goes to the computer and finally looks up my dogs records just to say "oh he did break his leg" as if I were lying to him before. The unnamed Doctor removes the bandaging I had done the day prior and says "this is a mess. I don't have time for this, I'm leaving in an hour" tells me to just go somewhere else and pushes me out the back door so that people in the front wouldn't see that they sent him out the door without so much as cleaning or bandaging his leg back up. I'm never going back to Fullerton animal hospital again and neither is anyone else in my household.
