This place is terrible. Every time I pick my dogs up from boarding, they smell of urine and their fur is crusted in it. You could never go back and see the boarding because you have to make an appointment and my guess it's because it stinks back there. I know they give baths before pick up, but they have to because the dogs must sit in their own urine as long as they're there. I even noticed a sign on the computer, reminding the team to give the dogs water over the summer because there had been dogs boarding without water for the weekend. I need a new vet. Expensive, horrific boarding. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! Tiffany at the front desk is atrocious and rude! I will start by saying I am a seasoned dog owner, I've had my dog for 12 years. My family and I moved to the Towson area from PG county earlier this year. Transferring from our previous office Union Vet in DC- whom we loved. Towson Veterinary Hospital is very convenient to our new home, and my hope was that we'd found a new home for vet care. I was incredibly wrong. Today I noticed that I was charged for a wellness visit after just having a wellness visit 3 weeks ago- this fee was assessed for booster shot administration, and apparently because it was a Saturday appt there was no way around it. The issue I have is that nobody in the office communicated this to me at the time I made the appointment. Nor did anyone tell me that I could have scheduled my dog for a tech visit on a weekday and avoid the fee. Upon calling them to communicate my concerns I was met with defensiveness and attitude from the front desk staff, Tiffany. Ultimately she gave me excuses as to why I was charged and told me it was my fault that I didn't book a tech visit. I asked for her name and the office managers name and she replied, they aren't in, the doctor is in a visit and I will have to wait for a call back- and she hung up the phone! I promptly called the office back and spoke with Rachel, a very kind member of the front desk staff, who has excellent customer service skills. She was very transparent about the issue and has assisted me with sorting things out. She will put me in contact with the office manager early next week and the expectation is that I will receive a refund for the wellness visit- that my dog didn't need- on Monday. Despite Rachel's efforts, I've requested my dogs records and I will not be returning to this office for future care. As a new member of the Towson community, I can confidently say I've had wonderful experiences thus far. This has been an exception to that and I can only advise that pet owners in the area AVOID!!! read more

I would not recommend starting care at this vet. I would especially not recommend them if you hav a pet with a complicated medical care or an older pet in need of care. They are staffed by young adult techs without proper training that manhandle animal, the main vet Dr. F has a terrible bed-side manner and is rude and dismissive, and they gauge you with the pricing for services. Everytime I drop my dogs at this place first they smell and feel absolutely filthy and secondly the bill is always over 400 dollars for some vaccine they need and because they need the vaccine they need to be seen by the doctor for 75 dollars in addition to the bi annual required doctor visit. Everytime I come in the bill is at least 150 dollars over what was quoted. While the pricing looks competitive for the boarding they will get you with said required vaccines and 74 dollar visits with the doctor. Please be aware. read more

I cannot tell you about the service here because I did not get any!!! Which is the problem. Prior to going for my pup's appointment, the person I spoke with on the phone to send in his medical records was helpful. The process was fast and simple. When I took my pup in, the receptionist was working with someone. I sat and waited my turn. They took so long my appointment time had started. When the person left I walked to the counter next. The receptionist was sitting at the table, on the phone, said nothing to me. Not a hold on hello, hold on ma'am, or anything. There were also about four or five people there, right outside the doorway as well as going in and out the door. It looked like they were upset about something. They talked amongst themselves and walked past me. The appointment intake forms and pen were on the counter so I started to fill it out myself. I figured that would speed the process up. Still at that point, the receptionist who is one foot away did not acknowledge me whatsoever. I thought to myself, if they can treat me with such disregard, what will they do to my puppy who can't speak for himself? So feeling embarrassed and invisible I crumpled up my paper and dropped the pen, right at the counter. Which the clearly blind and deaf receptionist did not see. Picked up my yapping puppy's cage and walked out. Which I'm sure no one noticed of that either. It's wild how disrespectful silence can be. And clearly since no one saw my transparent, see-through, invisible self, my appointment time must have been the same too. There was no follow up call to reach out with me about my "missed" appointment. I can't believe I took time off of work to be mistreated like that. A puppy was gifted to me on account my last child ( Dog ) had passed away. I had never been to this Vet before but because the pervious owners started her care there I wanted to continue until I could find a vet on my side of town. Not knowing that it would be a big DISAPPOINTMENT. First appointment was not as bad as this last , while I understand the need for social distancing when the appointment was over they just gave her back. No mention that my receipt would be emailed. When I asked for the paper receipt it was given but not the three medications I had paid for. So again I had to call in the office to inquire about the meds. Visit # 2 was scheduled for her to have booster shots which was Today , when I called to make the appointment I was advised that she would only be coming in for 3 booster shots and it would cost me around $130 and that my appointment would be 8am. Now I was late I got there at 8:25 and when I called to inform them I was there I was told my appointment was down for 9 am, ok. Once she went in a few minutes later I got a call later saying she bit one of the many young assistants and my bill would be $270. In amazement I wanted to know why when I asked two weeks ago its $130 and now $270. I feel at this point I was robbed she had another wellness visit that she didn't need and and two other things that I had given no consent to. She was supposed to only have a follow up for booster shots , once I expressed my frustration about the bill they took off 40 dollars. Its was not about the money at first but the lack of communication and rudeness when questions were asked. Once I looked over my baby I noticed there were not blood spots , which is normal after shots, but her mouth was bleeding. Knowing if she was afraid she would have tried to protect herself as any animal would do; but because of the rudeness when I started asking questions I started to wonder if she even received the shots. I work in the Health Care Field customer service is paramount, no one not a pet owner not a human being should ever walk away from any health care facility in doubt about the care that was received. We are living in epic times, we already have much to bare with family members dying and the loss of income now we have to worry about the neighborhood vet cheating you and miss treating your pet. I do not normal write review but I was pushed by my dog trainer and dog sitter to speak on this, I love my baby and If don't speak for her or my self then no will know but something has be done. Maybe they are not like that with all their customers but I would be pretty angry if I was at a restaurant and received different services when spending my money. So for those whom have had a good Experience there good for you , but those whom have not speak on it. Oh and I will not be recommending this clinic to anyone! read more

If I could leave a negative review I would do so, which is a shame because years ago this used to be a good place. My husband and I brought our cat Kassidy in because of abdominal distress. She had to stay a couple days and I called several days for updates and each time I called it felt like an imposition on the staff. They were waiting on the specialist and had we known this, we would have kept her home until he had arrived late that weekend. We finally went to the place and we were told it was cancer. We made the hard choice to have her euthanized and while they brought her out to us, we had to wait in another room for hours! Meanwhile poor Kassidy just wants to go home, my husband was battling cancer and wasn't feeling well and we are just waiting on someone to come in the room. This took over 4 hours. Then we are brought into another room which is even less comfortable and the woman who is going to do the procedure isn't even empathetic, puts the sleep drug in our cat without warning and we don't get a chance to say goodbye. No one in this animal ER was friendly and even cared what we were going through. Our cat was put to sleep and she was stressed and needlessly kept there 2 days prior. She had been a gift from my husband and was the sweetest rescue and now I don't have either of them. This place doesn't even deserve one star! read more

In the same breath the vet told me my pet was going to die in a month and it was my fault for not coming in sooner. It was a rapidly growing mass and I called as soon as I saw it. The place is a complete ripoff. The Dr's have no idea how to solve a problem. My dog had blood work done four times in the last year. Each time the doctor reviews the blood work and says the dogs anemic. "Secondary condition chronic disease." "Let's try to figure out what's going on." Guess what they want to do, let's do some blood work. This time a complete pallet. Meaning kidneys....., ok my question why does it take until the fourth time to do "complete blood work". (250 dollars a pop) And the other three times, was what exactly? And why should I pay again 4th time for blood work? My Cat was suffering with an ear condition- scratching and scabs etc. after taking her Twice to Banfield with no improvement I called Towson Vet on a Saturday. Dr. Furmonte (?sp) said being her in right away and got myy cat all set up with treatment. Gave her a shot for the horrible ear itching. He took his time and even scraped her back teeth. Turns out we were right. My wife called back the next morning demanding an itemized receipt. The receipt included a $25 charge for 50 CT of pet form vitamins that were under $11 on Amazon. Also a $25 fee for cutting her nails despite them her needing it. Avoid at all costs! The vet preformed a bunch of tests and probes without even consulting us and we felt like our new puppy was manhandled and didn't get proper care. The vet was not professional and ask for payment without an itemized bill of what he preformed while we were still on the exam room. I have been to other vets before and I believe he is scamming owners with forcing dog vitamins onto owners bills without telling them the prices of the services and the pills he is forcing upon put dog. When I was out of a necessary medication that was hard to find, they went very out of their way to make sure that I had it when no other hospital would. I had the worst experience with them. They held my dog for two weeks. I forever regret my dog being held for tests. I should have taken my dog home. She was exhausted because she didn't sleep for days because of the noise. I will never ever put my dog through that again. We waited 24 hours for the neurologist to show up. In the end my baby's brain was filled with cancer! She suffered for days maybe weeks. This neurologist was so filled with himself as if I told you so. read more

This outfit did a good job for me when my dog tipped over my kitchen trash can and ate some chicken wing bones...squeezed me in on short notice emergency, and offered some no-nonsense practical advice on how to followup and handle the problem. Dr. F has been our Vet for over 30 years and remains most trusted and fair. And, I would add, not the same dogs. We seem to have two or three going at the same time, and Dr. F and Towson Veterinary has been there for each of them. I looked over others' reviews, some complaining about costs of meds, comparing to Amazon. Is there any point of purchase where you can get something cheaper than ordering on line? As your Vet about recurring meds and the immediacy of need, then do your shop comparison. In some cases I get meds on-line, but mostly I like to buy local and patronize a Veterinary I trust. My family has boarded our dogs at Towson Vet Hospital for every vacation that we taken since I can remember. Conveniently located and great care, what more could you ask for? I'll tell you: Dr. Fioramonti and his staff are not only on their game, after many years, I can genuinely say that they are wonderful people. Also, It's fun to catch Dr. Fioramonti for a couple of minutes every Thursday on Good Morning Maryland, where he shows an animal that is up for adoption and answers questions for viewers about their pets. After seeing all of the great reviews everywhere online, I happily made an appointment for my four month old rescue puppy at the Towson Veterinary Hospital. I have no idea about the experience of everyone else writing these reviews, but to my husband and I, the vet was incredibly rude and condescending. He made several snide remarks about the fact that we had a rescue dog from a shelter, and about how we live in Baltimore city (he notably perked up when we clarified Roland park, but honestly, we brought in a happy and healthy dog so I'm not really sure that should MATTER). He decided the food we were giving her must be bad because he'd never heard of it, and told us some blatantly untrue things, like insisting the fact that her teeth were coming in slowly meant that her immunity was behind, which is not a thing. So, long story short, maybe he IS a great vet if you're an older couple with a thoroughbred golden retriever living in Towson. However, I can only speak to the fact that as a young couple with a mutt from a rescue, coming from (heaven forbid!) Baltimore city, he was incredibly rude and condescending, and I hope this review will spare others like me from the humiliation of actually having to engage in conversation with this vet. Dr. Fioramonti is one of the best and most experienced veterinarians in Baltimore. He is thorough with his examinations and spot on with his diagnoses. Our new family puppy has a congenital cardiovascular condition that Dr. Fioramonti caught immediately when it had been overlooked by other veterinarians. Dr. Fioramonti personally called our family on his day off, to keep us apprised of our puppy's medical test results. As a medical professional myself, I was impressed with his wealth of knowledge and collaborative work with other local veterinary specialists in the area. Dr. Fioramonti seemed very knowledgeable and was good with my cat even though he was very uncomfortable and not so pleasant during the examination. I have never been to this vet before and this is a new cat I recently adopted. I brought him in because he seemed to have a fever and had been very lethargic for the past couple days. I figured he had the cold come back that he originally had when I adopted him 2 weeks prior. Dr. Fioramonti did his examination, gave him 2 shots (he did not tell me what they were for) and sent me home with some medicine and instructions to call within 4 days. I felt that he has a deep care for animals and a passion for what he does. I don't think hes too great with owners but that doesn't bother me too much, I really just care about the knowledge and care for my pet. That being said I do think I was overcharged. For this 20 min examination, 2 shots and medicine it was $174. I wasn't warned about the cost, at the end it was kind of like "well this is what it came to." I paid it without question, expecting the receipt to be itemized but it wasn't. Previous vets with other cats have not been near that cost and I have had a cat with the same illness (upper respiratory infection) before and much more medication. And always the charges were at least explained to me. read more

When I picked up my pet from boarding, he had sores on both sides of his face that were not there when I dropped him off. I asked what happened and was told he was rubbing his face on the cage. He did not receive any medical care for the sores. read more

Three moves & vets (all great) later, Dr. Fioramonti remains the "gold standard" in veterinarians. He is thorough, clear, and compassionate. He really loves cats! Dogs too, no doubt, but he was excellent with my nervous, somewhat combative girl who hated going to the vet. I have honestly considered moving back to Baltimore just to have him as a vet again. Also, I agree with other reviewers re: boarding. This is then only facility where I was comfortable boarding my girl. I picked her up early once and they were in the middle of a play session with her, making sure she was exercised & happy. Again - the gold standard. read more

I have been here multiple times with each of my cats. Dr. Sand was really wonderful the one time we saw him, but I can't put my cats through seeing Dr. Fioramonti again. The main problem that I have was the complete and utter lack of professionalism by the front desk staff and some of the "vet techs". This past visit, which finally sent me over the edge, there was a child in board sorts and flip flops that scruffed my cat the ignored me as I said to not scruff her. I personally strongly believe that there shouldn't be anyone without the proper certifications and training working in a medical facility. Dr. Fioramonti was there and was not instructing proper care at all. If anything, he looked terrified and uncomfortable with my extremely sweet cat. He did not answer my questions or have any idea about her history. We have been here multiple times and it is disappointing that some employees are really wonderful, but it's more likely to get someone extremely rude. On top of that, there was urine all in the waiting room, which I can understand happens in a vets office, but there was no attempt for anyone to clean anything. If you do decide to go here, double check your invoice because they will charge you for future tests that may or may not happen or be needed. read more

On more than one occasion this has happened. Not sure why she's Working there. Not sure if the doctor is aware of this. This is an update to my prior review one year ago. Dr F and his staff are FABULOUS. They have cared for my dog as their own for over a year. In need of doggie daycare that wouldn't break the bank while I work full time and am in graduate school, Dr F worked with my schedule to figure out a plan that would work for both myself and his staff. The staff are all truly amazing individuals that LOVE animals. They are some of the friendliest and most welcoming people in this area. I've also seen them deal with many other customers (as I was in every day for over a year to pick up my dog) and I only saw positive interactions. Dr F also helped me potty train my dog and made me a much more comfortable pet owner. These are some of the most loving individuals and my dog is always excited when we pull up for his vet visits. After being told by another vet that my service dog's cyst was probably cancerous and it might spread if I even touch it (I cannot make this up.) enroute home, I immediately sought a random second opinion. Dr. Sand is really great in taking conservative measures, discussing options and creating a strategic, effective and immediate course of action that works with the end result in mind. His surgical skills are excellent too. Definitely would recommend if you want quality service on your beloved pet, customer service, etc. The billing was VERY reasonable after comparing the proposed cost of the exact same procedure from the previous veterinarian. I thought I'd review this as it is difficult to find many reviews for this dog & cat "hotel." Firstly, I want to mention that the staff is friendly. I don't have any complaints with customer service, and I believe that my dog was probably treating okay. They say that they constantly rotate and let the dogs out for 15 minutes at a time. I believe this is probably true, but when I initially called I was told 5 minutes minimum and 15 minutes maximum. However, I was extremely underwhelmed with the facilities. Unfortunately, I didn't have much choice of where to board as we planned a last minute vacation. Upon picking up my dog, I toured the inside of the facility. The building is old and leaves a lot to be desired. The kennels are 4' x 4' and are stacked 2 high in very narrow rooms that have a door that leads outside. I wouldn't really mind this, but the website claims that the facilities are "climate controlled." I specifically asked about this as the room my dog stayed in was extremely hot and only had an exhaust fan above the door. I was told that if it gets cold there is heat, but when it is hot they only have the fan and screen door. I know that for some people this facility will suffice. However, I wasn't happy that I left my dog there for 3 days. A co-worker of mine told me about a place in Cockeysville that is much more expensive, but they allow pick-up and drop-off around the clock, have cameras in the facility to see your pup play all day from wherever you are, a large outdoor play areas with pools and more. I worked for Towson Vet when I was in High School in 1984. They were the best in caring for the animals then and now. I have had two dogs in my married life and I would not trust their care to anyone else. Our first dog a Yellow Lab stray had to be euthanized after 13 years and the compassion from the doctors and the staff was helpful in dealing with our loss. They board him, they treat him, they don't do unnecessary tests and they do what is needed and have a real problem SOLVING approach as opposed to brushing things under the rug. I started taking my rescue pup here immediately after we adopted him and Dr. Fioramonti has taken such good care of him. My dog had some health issues and over his first year he developed into a healthy pup thanks to this vets care. Although puppies shots are expensive (to get them all the vaccines they need) in the first year, the cost was reasonable and I was never hit with an unexpectedly high bill. i also had to take my dog to the PET ER one night and he saw us right away the next morning (which the ER had recommended) and i feel confident in our future plan of action for my dogs condition. One time, my fiance was worried they would think we were "crazy" because he called to talk to the doctor after my dog had surgery (because i was overly worried about the dog). But not only did Dr. Fioramonti call me later personally to let me know my dog was recovering well, but he also took the time to talk to us one on one when we picked the dog up. I trust Dr. Fioramonti to care for my dog and help me make the right decisions to be the best dog mom I can be. I also appreciate his enthusiasm for rescued dogs. We got both my dogs as puppies from rescue organizations and they are great dogs! i feel lucky to have Dr. Fioramonti as my local vet. read more

I can only say good things about my experiences here. They are the only vet's in the towson area that treats smaller animals like rats. John Fioramonti is personable, knowledgable, and matter-of-fact. The receptionists and assistants have always taken great care of my animal, and are always friendly and willing to help. The office is small but clean. I was always able to be fit in for emergency appointments. Prices are reasonable and affordable. When my rat died after a lengthy illness, I received a personal call from Dr. Fioramonti expressing his condolences. Not a card, not an email from the receptionists, a personal phone call. For me, that was huge. Dr. Fioramonti did everything he possibly could for my boy. This man is truly invested in and cares about your animals. Five stars. This is honestly my perfect vet and I would definitely take my pets here in the future. read more
