I chose this location for a haircut for me and my kids based on the good reviews here on yelp. I called ahead and was asked to come an hour before closing. When I reached there, there were just a couple customers and we didn't need to wait long. However, as soon as she started cutting one of my kids' hair, many people started walking in. There were two stylists and the waiting area soon got full. As a result, the stylist started rushing through the haircuts. When I asked her to give my daughter layers, she suggested we should only get layers in front for her (we said OK). When I pointed out that the hair was uneven in the back, she said that was layers. My other daughter's haircut was also rushed and she didn't even wet it or section it before cutting. When it was my turn, i asked for a simple trim. She didn't wet my hair OR cut it. She just used the thinning shears and in 5 mins announced that i was done and called the next client over. They could've told the people walking in that there wouldn't be enough time but chose to let more people in and do a rushed and incomplete job. I guess i will have to find a new stylist. read more

This place is awesome. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who cut my hair, but they were great. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon without an appointment and they still saw me. I told her I was cutting my hair to donate, almost 20 inches and she took care of it. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she gave me that. The whole experience took maybe 45 minutes. She put my hair in a bag for me and styled my hair perfectly. The best part, it was $18 bucks. I ended up tipping $5. How many people can say they got an excellent hair cut for only $23?! This place is excellent, I will forever get my hair cuts from here, they're great at what they do and have fantastic pricing. Definitely come here for your hair needs, my boyfriend was going somewhere closer to downtown, but since this place has such excellent pricing, he says he's going to switch over to here. I went here today to get my 9 year old daughters hair trimmed before her first day of school. When the older lady sat my daughter down she pointed out that my daughter had a tangle in the back of her head, I said that my daughter had fell asleep in the car after a day of running back to school errands. I told her I wanted to add a shampoo and condition as well. She looked at me and said, "No, you take her home and take it out (I assume the tangle) and bring her back". WTF? Like seriously? It was the weirdest experience ever. In the middle of me asking why she would ask me to do that she walked away and helped another customer. I got my daughter up and we left. My daughter started crying because she thought she did something wrong by falling asleep on the way there and blamed herself for her not getting her hair trimmed. My son was complaining that his hair is poking him in the eyes Tuesday night. So I trimmed a little, then trimmed a little more, and I stop before it's too late. I was hoping I can trim until the weekend when I have the time to take him get a hair cut. Lesson learned, never again. My poor buddy had to go to school 2 days before I had the time. I am new to Tracy and took a stroll down where Bambi is located and decided to take a chance on permanent make up. Well I have my eyebrows tattooed 8 years ago and it's fading out. After getting my nails done at Hailey, I decided to fill in my eyebrows in medium brown. Jenny the owner is awesome! She is very sweet and was concern when it hurt a little ( normal process). How in the world does Master Cuts get more business than Bambi's?! The stylist here are super talented. I was shocked to be able to get an appointment right away. I wanted a trim and color because I noticed a few grays. The stylist told me that I really don't need a color, just a touch up. Her honesty was endearing. I don't like to write bad reviews but I only went to this salon because it had 5 stars. The woman that did my hair absolutely ruined it. I had long thick curly hair and I asked to have it trimmed and thinned. She cut it incredibly short and gave me horrible layers that would never work for curly hair. Additionally, I wasn't able to see what she was doing because she turned me away from the mirror. I am now having to spend more money seeking hair growth options and having to go to another salon to get this horrible mess foxed. I am devastated that she mindlessly cut off the hair it took me years to grow out that I told her I wanted to keep. read more

I found this place thanks to Yelp and the reviews convinced me to go. I'm so happy I did!!! The older lady was such a sweetheart. She listened to everything I said and after my 5 minute explanation of what I wanted, she very nicely gave me her opinion. I am sooo glad I listened to her. I initially wanted my damaged ends cut, long layers, and shorter layers on top to make my hair look "fuller" since my hair is VERY THIN and I am losing A LOT of it. But she made me understand that the short layers would make it look even more thin and I would practically look like I'm going bald. I ended up just getting my damaged ends trimmed and long layers and I LOVE my hair. I will definitely be going back to Bambi's. read more

This is one of the first times yelp failed me when it comes to a review. I'm not a picky person when it comes to my haircut. It doesn't have to be perfect, but I do expect my haircut to meet the minimum requirements. For instance, I would like my haircut to be even on both sides. This wasn't the case and I asked her to work on my hair more(which I have never done before). I usually go to Hogs Breath (12/haircut) in Dublin or a place is San Jose (10/haircut), but I relocated to this area. This place charges 12 dollars and it feels like a 5 dollar haircut. Very seldom I made a review . It either 5 stars or no starts at all. Bambi Salon is always doing mug hair from cut and color. This time I have to give the salon a zero star. Customer service is worst today. I made an appointment for color and hair. When I went there I was told that they can't do color since they are busy. It was mentioned on setting an appointment that I need color and cut. All she could say sorry and if I want to come back another day. What's the use of setting an appointment? Did she not know how important every hour here. And further, they are not accepting cards whether debit or credit card since their system is down. A good customer service is call ahead of time your guest if you cannot do the service and informed that only cash payment. Definitely, will not go there anymore and will not recommend this salon. I always come to Bambi's for my haircut. I always get the younger lady, because she does a really good job! She's really nice and pays attention to what you want and how you want it. $15 is not expensive when you get what you want!! I've never had a bad experience coming here. I would have given 5 stars but I went back a few wks later for another haircut and it was a little shorter than I wanted it but thankfully it's just hair and it grows back. Been here two times & each time I was very satisfied with my hair! It seems like a mom & daughter shop. They are super friendly. I liked how (I think her name is Anne) did my hair. She asked how I wanted it, which way I parted my hair, etc. For the price it just can't be beat! Getting a hair wash & cut only cost me $25. Mind you, that's a pretty good price for the service. She not only washes your hair she massages your head & puts stuff in your hair that makes it so soft & they even blow dry & straighten your hair for you! Very disappointed. I went in this morning, as soon as they opened, to ask if someone there was able to do highlights/ lowlights. I specifically asked if that was something they could do. The younger woman that was there said YES they could and someone could do it at 1pm. So I made an appointment. I went in and sat in the older women's chair. She said I had an appointment. She asked if I wanted a touch up. I informed her NO. I want highlights/ lowlights and showed pictures. She seemed confused and talked to the younger woman. The younger woman said that the woman going to do my hair was not comfortable doing what I asked and do I just want a touch up. NO! I don't want a touch up, they told me someone could do it and now I've wasted my time. I was at first hesitant to get a cut, because I had a wedding the next day. The place had a nice interior, and my haircut was given thoroughly by a friendly stylist. The undercut is pretty easy to botch up, but they did well. Price is great for the quality of service as well. Perhaps a different name/logo would help to attract more attention to the shop. Bambi Salon is over pricey.my Daughter wanted to cut her bangs only,when we came inside the lady said $8 and i said let's do it! $8 for bangs only and suddenly the lady employee said do you want to cut the back for even straight your daughter's hair and i said how much she said $8 together with the bangs.and i said Okey do it. And after my daughter cut her hair and the old lady cashier employee said $15.and i said WHAT! thought she said $8 for cutting bangs and hair trimmed so I was SHoCK even my daughter said she heard the lady said $8 only.I don't Understand her English words. Bambi salon is a great hair salon with great service and friendly people! Anne has been cutting my hair for 8 years and I travel an hour from Walnut Creek to have her cut my hair.
