    Juicy Jerk chicken

My favorite Caribbean spot in the surrounding ATL. I drive almost an hour each way because it's just that good! Arrived around noon and was fortunate to get my jerk chicken directly from the smoker. So yummy! Everything was fresh and tasted really good.

First time here as I always seem to miss them when they're open. I ordered the Oxtails and frankly, I'm not impressed. A large plate is 25 bucks so, I'm gonna eat it but, see this reddish gravy? Looks and even tastes like a BBQ sauce. Very "ketchupy" instead of that rich brown or burnt sugar taste. Good: Portions. Nice big pieces. I had no tough, seemingly old pieces. Veggies. Great. Plantains. Most places give you two pieces. I got like 4 or 5 from these guys. Bad: Hours of operation. Yes it's my first time there but I pass them going to another place, usually for lunch. I've only not been before because they are always closed. Well... except for one time but I was moving too fast to stop. Hours seem sporadic. Oxtail. This BBQ-esque tasting sauce. It's thick and I got a good amount but, I feel like I'm eating ribs, not oxtail. I have different places I go to for different dishes. I was only interested in trying these guys because I was told by a family member that they were outstanding. It's for that reason I probably will never go back. I was only looking for a source for Oxtails and since this was disappointing, well, no reason to go back. Their other dishes could be fantastic so, keep that in mind when reading my opinion.

Jerk Chicken, Rice & Peas, Plantains and Vegetables

Authentic Jamaican Food!!! And what more needs to be said after that? This jerk chicken comes straight off the grill and you taste it in every single bite until your food is gone. The rice & peas, plantains and cabbage/vegetables are a great compliment to the food, you really get to enjoy the full grill flavor of the jerk chicken or whatever dish you're having. Tastees Jamaican Cuisine is my daughter & I go to spot EVERY single time.

    Better Health Drinks

I NEVER do reviews.. But This place Deserves one. travel ALL over the Country, especially Atlanta area eating and trying Jamaican spots and this is Definitely one of the Best! I don't know about the being closed with other reviews.. but they were open when I went and the food tastes Great!. The Best Beef patty I had in a while and it was so hot! The fresh fluffy Cocoa bread was the perfect complement to the combination. The wings were spicy and flavorful and the rice & peas were good. The plantains were also cooked well and tasty. They Also had fresh soursop juice that was delicious and had no pulp. And Lastly, they had several healthy drinks and tonics for Better Health like for diabetes, Black-seed oil, Sea moss and even drinks for thyroids! I HIGHLY recommend this spot!

Fried cabbage, rice n beans, and plantains

Always hot and yummy when I stop by and grab me some jerk, brown chicken, or rice n beans. Today I ordered beans n rice, cabbage, and plantains with a chicken patty. All this for $8 If you're looking for Jamaican cuisine don't sleep on Tastees! They have curry, jerk, and assorted beverages and spices you can purchase. As soon as you pull up you can smell the jerk on the smoker. It's also at a very convenient location. I usually go around lunch time and I'm in and out. Delicious

"Jerk" chicken plate..more like BBQ chicken

Where do I begin? First of all, let me say that I normally don't eat at restaurants that don't have their health score visible, but this time I broke my own rule. Welp, that's what I get. When I first walked in, there was a man sitting at the table, whom I thought was a customer, b/c I wasn't greeted so I assumed he was eating as a customer....WRONG. He worked there. He proceeded to get up,(still no greeting), and he got the attention of a lady in the back. She didn't greet, she just looked at me for a minute, then asked "what can I get you". I ordered the jerk chicken, white rice, and mixed vegetables. I swear that chicken tasted like bbq, with just a hint of spice...not jerk! Oh, and I don't know if I remember seeing the man who fixed my food (same man who was sitting at the table when I walked in) wash his hands..I'm still wondering about that. The chicken had an alright taste if I had my mind set on bbq chicken, but I didn't. He did throw in a few plantains, so that's a plus. I was not impressed by this place at all! Probably wouldn't return, nor would I recommend either. Oh, let me add that the Sorrel, which is some sort of punch, was 4 friggn' dollars!!! Really? I passed on it, which I really wanted some too, b/c it looked really good, but I wasn't about to pay $4!

This is curry chicken. Not curry goat !

Horrible. I ordered a jerk chicken and they gave me barbecue and also ordered a curry goat to only get fucking curry chicken and the goat is way more expensive than the chicken

I've came twice to try this place during operating hours and they have been closed both times. I won't return a third time.
