I ordered 6 patties and a said of jerk chicken by itself and it came out to $23 each patty was $2.50 and the jerk chicken was $7 not all the way bad. It was one older guy serving food and taking the payment looks like he could be the owner. The food was decent for what I ordered i give the patty a 5/10 and the jerk chicken which was 4 pieces a 6/10 it was spicy so be ready . As far as a ambiance none really the store was full of a lot of herbal stuff for sale like drinks , teas , detox etc and the place had some old school Jamaican music and some barrels outside if you wanted to buy to ship out . read more

I got a plate here the other day on 2/19/2025. I ate here previously a couple of years ago. I got a jerk chicken dinner with brown stew sauce it came with plantains and cabbage and rice and peas. I also purchased a sorell tea. The food here is actually tasty and good only thing is if spicy is not your thing this is not for you. I ate my food. My bro got a oxtails plate with rice and peas also a beef ribs. He actually threw away his rice and peas. I won't return because of the amount of heat and spices added to everything. read more

First time here as I always seem to miss them when they're open. I ordered the Oxtails and frankly, I'm not impressed. A large plate is 25 bucks so, I'm gonna eat it but, see this reddish gravy? Looks and even tastes like a BBQ sauce. Very "ketchupy" instead of that rich brown or burnt sugar taste. Good: Portions. Nice big pieces. I had no tough, seemingly old pieces. Veggies. Great. Plantains. Most places give you two pieces. I got like 4 or 5 from these guys. Bad: Hours of operation. Yes it's my first time there but I pass them going to another place, usually for lunch. I've only not been before because they are always closed. Well... except for one time but I was moving too fast to stop. Hours seem sporadic. Oxtail. This BBQ-esque tasting sauce. It's thick and I got a good amount but, I feel like I'm eating ribs, not oxtail. I have different places I go to for different dishes. I was only interested in trying these guys because I was told by a family member that they were outstanding. It's for that reason I probably will never go back. I was only looking for a source for Oxtails and since this was disappointing, well, no reason to go back. Where do I begin? First of all, let me say that I normally don't eat at restaurants that don't have their health score visible, but this time I broke my own rule. Welp, that's what I get. When I first walked in, there was a man sitting at the table, whom I thought was a customer, b/c I wasn't greeted so I assumed he was eating as a customer....WRONG. He worked there. This is an update to my initial review. Unfortunately, the staff has changed, and it is for the worst. Unlike before when we use to be greeted with a smile and like a valued customer, now you barely get a groan. Additionally, the male owner who has solely taken over barely keeps regular menu items available at prime dinner time. Sadly, me, my husband, and our son who use to frequent here at least once a week(evwn during this pandemic) have noticed that the food is not fresh like it once was before. Maybe, I will have to try them mid-day and update again based on that experience, but as of now, I hope he reads this and go back to the better experience and taste of freshness with his food that kept us as repeat customers in the past. This was my go to spot because it's very important to support the community and the food was good. Lately I have noticed a few changes, staff wise as well as taste. I do not knock anyone who is trying to make a honest living but so far every Jamaican restaurant I ever eaten at that has a staff that is not Jamaican I have noticed a difference in the quality of taste. Lately the mix vegetables is way over cooked to a point it is mushy, the chicken is dry due to it being sitting out with no cover for a long period of time, the presentation of the food is just not appealing. What I loved about this spot was the jerk being done on a grill giving it that smoke taste and now if appears as if the food is not cooked by the original chef and I am really hoping this is going to get better. read more

The health score here is %100. I'm on a recent quest to find the very best Jamaican cuisines in my new area of Snellville. This place is a Caribbean grocery store and a Jamaican restaurant. The place was empty when I arrived. I purchased a small Brown stew chicken. It came with rice and peas, mixed vegetable and plantain. The gravy tasted like ketchup and browning; didn't taste any traces of garlic, ginger or thyme...just greasy ketchup based sauce. This is the first time in the 25 years I've been eating Jamaican food that my 'stewed chicken' didn't fall off the bone. Stewed means cooked low and slow until meat literally falls OFF the bone. There was also so much soggy chicken skin on my meat as well. What I had was baked chicken with Brown stew sauce over top of it. I was beyond disappointed. My rice and peas were good, my mixed vegetable was awesome and the plantain was good. I actually discarded my chicken in the trash and just ate my sides and gravy. My feelings are so hurt. I just got and ate the jerk chicken! It was FANTASTIC! I love Jamaican that'll put a little sweat in the forehead and this was it! I've had Jamaican food with some Jamaicans I work with and this beats all of them! The Jerk sauce had just the right amount of spice and he even sauces the rice if you want! The portions were huge also definitely not going hungry after eating! Next time and yes there will definitely be a next time I'm trying the Brown stew the maybe the ox tail! Every once in a while you find that hole in the wall, off the side of the road, best kept secret type of place that warms your heart and your stomach. I wanted this to be that place but it fell short. When I saw this place I instantly wanted oxtails but they didn't have any. The only thing they had was jerk chicken so I went with that and a couple of beef patties. Chicken was more sweet than jerk and the beef patty wasn't spicy. Tasted like the ones I buy at Sams. Don't get me wrong they're not bad, but I was hoping for something a little more authentic. I ordered oxtail plate. Presentation was similar to all other Jamaican cuisine restaurants. It came with rice, cabbage, and plantain. The rice was good, and the cabbage was good. The oxtail had an abundance of fat on all the pieces I was given. The cook failed to cut off the fat or simply that's just how they make it. I had pull all the fat off that I could before I tried to eat. Nothing worse that a mouth full of fat with your meat. The plantain wasn't great either. They might have been over ripened, or just were sitting in that warmer for majority of day but it had a after taste not familiar to me whenever I eat good plantain. If I were to go back I wouldn't get oxtail. I'll probably go for the jerk chicken. read more

I've been passing by this place for weeks and decided to grab a couple of meals for dinner last night. It's about 30 minutes from where I reside. I was really surprised by the meal and they also give you generous portions. The meal was nice and spicy the way I like Jamaican dishes. So I decided that each time I'm in this area, I will grab a couple of plates for the night. I really enjoyed this. I purchased four bags of St. Mary's banana chips last Saturday and was charged $3.50 each. I went back on Monday to buy some more, and I was charged $2.50 each. I told the chef that I had paid more the first time I purchased the chips, and he was not able to explain the difference in price. When I went to the store on Saturday there was a different staff member at the restaurant. It seems as if the staff members there are confused about the prices of the items they sell.
