It is a small shop on Scenic Hwy. It is very hot inside; no AC. Incense stick smell is very strong. Tables (they have about 2-3 tables) were not clean. I wouldn't recommend dine-in. This location is exactly as expected for a traditional West Indian food spot. If you're ever craving home cooked curry or roti or bake with salt fish, you're at the right spot. There is even a small shelf with a few snacks/goodies like big foot and channa. The Doubles are dangerously good! It's a favorite of mine. I preordered dhal phouri and doubles for a get together and it was ready right on time as requested. I'm glad to know there is a reliable catering spot for West Indian food - this is an anomaly. To wash down all the delicious flavors, just grab a cold beverage from the fridge - cream soda, sorrel or pineapple drink are a few of the choices. I really wanted to like this place despite all of the negative reviews but I can't. Let me start off by saying this .. the two women who were there were nothing but nice. I ordered over the phone ahead of time because I heard the wait times can vary. I ordered a curry chicken roti (assuming that it was made with boneless chicken , but apparently you have to specifically ask for boneless, so my roti had lots of bones in it which made it annoying to want to eat). The flavor was good , but I couldn't get past how my chicken inside was still pink. There goes $10 down the drain. I also ordered the veggie patty & a side of plantains. Again , the veggie patty was good but they BARELY put any veggies in it. It was like I was only eating the actual patty skin. Lastly , the plantains tasted as if they were wayyyy too ripe and overcooked. I generally like my plantains dark , but upon tasting these you can taste the burnt ness so I ended up throwing it away. I've been to this place a few times, I'm not sure what has happened lately but after this last visit, I won't be back. The older gentleman hasn't been there and the people at the front only care to play their music and watch their phones. Goat meat was well marinated and tender. Bones were included, but meat easily slid off. The restaurant is located in a plaza with ample parking and had lots of room for dining. We ordered: Brown Stewed Chicken Rice and Peas Cabbage Curry Chicken Macaroni Pie (baked macaroni) The stew chicken was very flavorful and sweet falling off the bone it was so good! Rice and peas are a staple this was good with the chicken gravy over it. The cabbage was not really seasoned but they gave a good portion. We also ordered the Baked Macaroni and Cheese, which is only served on Sundays however it tasted like the milk that they used to make it was old and it gave the Mac and cheese a weird taste so we did not eat it. I wanted to try the beef patties however they had ran out at the time and I was told it would take 25 minutes to make more so we didn't wait. I would try the Mac and cheese again because it had good consistency and the right amount of cheese but the milk used just wasn't good. They need to mark the roti ie CK, GT ext this is a simple normal practice to keep organized in a busy restaurant. I also recommend they dbl wrap the roti in the paper because sadly one of the goat roti fell and I had to throw the whole thing away. We've been wanting to try De One Roti since we moved to the area a year ago. We had it for dinner a couple of weeks ago. It was truly worth the wait. My husband ordered salt fish roti with spinach, channa and aloo. I ordered oxtail roti with the same sides. EVERYTHING was good. My favorite was the oxtails. I typically don't order oxtails because so often the gravy tastes sweet. I prefer oxtails to be all savory. These were absolutely perfect. I will definitely be getting them again soon. Another surprise was the spinach. I've always thought of spinach as super healthy but kind of basic tasting; not these. I'm still trying to figure out how they were seasoned. Having lived for years in Trinidad, I have a great affection for the people and flavors. Rarely do you find authentic T&T cuisine. Tbh this establishment is lacking the feel and love of the people. I ordered online and arrived early. The young woman working the counter pulled the order at my prompting. She also gave off the feeling that she was being put out. I waited in the car an additional 12 minutes and went back in. I got two wrapped rotisserie (goat and boneless chicken). Flavors were on point. Could have had a bit more gravy. If you want to avoid the wait, I'd just order via Grubhub and pay the extra! It's always delivered to me in about an hour the most. It's more convenient than waiting at the restaurant or in your car. It's always ways around things. Sure, if you don't patience you're out of luck. After driving past this restaurant time & time again, I finally decided to stop in. As an Antiguan American who loves all things West Indian, especially cuisine, I had high hopes for De One Roti Shop . I planned on ordering a Roti and pholourie but went with the bake and saltfish & doubles, because it was one of the few days out the week that they offered doubles. The food took a little while to prepare, but I was warned before I ordered that the saltfish wasn't ready yet, so I expected the wait. Everything was seasoned relatively well and was tasty, but the doubles were missing a little something for my taste buds. Next time I'll add pepper sauce and hopefully that'll make it 5 stars. They have a sign that states "No Mask No service, that's the law" yet they served a customer who had no mask. They directed some to wait in their car, but were in consistent. The main lady that runs the place had no mask on as well as an older gentleman. I waited almost an hour for my food, I placed my order at 12:12pm and received it at 1 pm ... I spent $55 just to be treated with excuses .... Poor treatment.... possibly a bit racist as I am Asian and the maskless customer was black and she got a pineapple soda for her less expensive short wait along with an apology for her wait!!!!
