Like their food, but the prices on the online menu are way off. Expected a bill of $18ish for a to-go oder, but it was $27 and change. When I questioned it, they said they didn't post a menu & don't know how to delete it Etc. This is consumer fraud, and one day, they will have someone walk out leaving a big order or, worse yet, report them to the local DA consumer fraud unit. Bamboo Garden has become our go to place for Chinese food. Love the fried noodles and the wife loves the house fried rice. To go and in house service is always good. It is usually nice a quiet in the restaurant and we love to relax there after work some days. read more

Bamboo gardens is an amazing restaurant, they have a wonderful 999 lunch special that gives you soup, crab Rangoon eggrolls, fried rice and an assortment of entrées you can choose. If you decide to go à la cart, they're very reasonable the food is great. The service is good they get you in and out quickly get a big pot of tea and the servings are generous they do a huge takeout business but you go in there at lunchtime and you will see they have a huge crowd, the owners are very sweet and nice. I tried this place the on a Saturday night after soaking in the Hot Springs and gasing up at Costco. There were 2-3 couples finishing up dinner and it was right at closing time when I picked up the food. Ambiance was dim lit and fairly quiet. It felt a little strange to walk through the dining room to pay at the register. And everyone was looking at me like my fly was down. Maybe it was... The shrimp were quite tasty. They were largeish prawns and there were about 14-16 of them in the order. The side of white rice with the order was an upcharge. So $16 before tip seed pretty steep. So I might try them again if. I've eaten at the Bamboo Garden twice and both times the food was good, ample in portion, and the service was great.

Delicious food. Fantastic service. Good quantity. By far, the best shrimp-fried rice I've ever eaten. I had the paper-wrapped chicken, the egg rolls, the shrimp-fried rice and the sesame shrimp. I had more than enough to fill me up (it was dinner time and I had skipped lunch), and plenty to take home for later. I will definitely be going back for more! What a hidden gem!!! read more

We attended the yelp V and T railroad event And had worked out an appetite between the train ride and a few glasses of wine. We consulted are you local yelp app and discovered Bamboo Garden. What a delightful surprise. We ordered the Sichuan dinner for two that included sesame chicken, Szechuan beef, and pork fried rice. In addition there was hot and sour soup plus an appetizer sampler plate of a prawn, an egg roll, and a beef teriyaki. Everything was fabulous. Hot and sour soup with spice just right and it was served temperature hot, always a plus when you order soup. Teriyaki stick was tender and tasty. The prawn dipped in the sweet-and-sour sauce provided was delightful. The sauces on the sesame chicken were sweet enough and plentiful enough to satisfy. The Szechuan beef had a definite Kick but not so much that it overpowered the flavor of the beef and sauce. Pork fried rice was very moist and not dry as many pork fried rices can be. It too was flavorful and complemented both our entrées. The restaurant is run by a family, as they are all available and helpful to meet the needs of their customers. Our dinner for two was actually enough for four people as our take-home box fed us last night. All this for a mere $15 apiece. This place is what I would call the steal deal with good food, excellent prices, and a very helpful staff. read more

I wouldn't say to not try this place for yourself. I am not very familiar with the dining options in Carson City, and perhaps this is a great option for the town. Food (2.5/5) Everything was very bland in my opinion. I felt like the food tasted OK; however, all the flavors were muted. It is as if they were following recipes and adding only half the recommended seasoning. The Mongolian Beef is advertised as being spicy, but it was not at all. The spicy mustard on the other hand, like always, was a real sinus opener. My least favorite item of everything would have to be the egg role. It tasted like it was bought commercially for a school cafeteria. My favorite item would have to be the beef. Cost was very reasonable. Everything with tax and tip, ~$10. Service (4/5) Quick, efficient, and polite. They bring out the soup and fried lunch items almost immediately. I had only an hour to spare, and was able to be in-and-out in ~45 minutes. Dining Experience (3.75/5) Restrooms and restaurant are very clean. Standard restaurant decor, including Chinese Zodiac placemats. Overall, different strokes for different folks. We ordered take out - chicken chow mein, pork chow mein and szechuan beef. The chow meins were both delicious. The szechuan beef was good - it was loaded with veggies and had good flavor - but could've used a bit more spice. The restaurant was a little odd for take out, though - when I walked in the hostess greeted me and walked me to the back of the restaurant, where the hostess stand was, to pay. Clean, nicely decorated and decent service but this place might be more aptly named Sinopec as their food is mostly fried or bathed in oil. My chicken and mixed vegetables was dripping with oil, which was too bad because the vegetables looked fresh and the chicken was fine. Most of the tables around me were loaded with heaping platters of fried chicken dishes and fried rice which one might expect to be oily or greasy. On the bright side, the steamed rice was good. I swear to god this place has steam tables in the back and they serve good out of that. I went in for takeout yesterday, I ordered & within 3 minutes they came out with the order. I opened it up and the food was COLD, except the hot and sour soup. Next time I go there and order, I will tell them about the cold food. If the food comes out in 2 minutes, I won't accept it and tell them I want fresh cooked food, nothing that's been sitting around. The food is not cheap, it's decent, but being cold is not acceptable. Came in about 11/2 before they closed, they had a few tables that were filled with people. Was seated fairly quickly, handed a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. It took a little bit for my order to be taken but i wasn't in any hurry and it's Friday night in Carson City. I ordered the schezhaun dinner which came with Mongolian beef, sesame seed chicken, but also added sweet and sour chicken to the order. If you want to be treated rude right when you walk in the door this is the place to go!!!! We did end up staying because we had a group of 9. The female owner. at least I think she is the owner and the other younger female we down right rude. When we were finished eating but still socializing they just stood like 2 feet from the table waiting and wanting us to leave , there was only one other table occupied so it was not like people were waiting to be seated. If you want tea it is $4.00 for each person they only will give you 1 cup per pot. What a rip off!!!!!! The food was good but we will never go back. The restaurant closes at 8 pm....WTH?! My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief, and I asked the man in glasses (owner/manager) if he we was actually cool with turning away paying customers 20 min before closing? Not to mention pissing us off enough to never come back. Didn't even phase this dude...shocking. Wow! My two teenage daughters and I all agree that this might be the best Chinese food we have had. We ordered the mandarin meal for 3 and every single item slaps. Egg flower soup. 5 stars. Wontons/egg rolls/pot stickers. Chef's kiss. Chow mein?! Out of this world. Fried rice and sweet and sour pork were divine. Will absolutely be back and we like 4.5 hours away. Highly recommend.
