We were out later than expected doing some holiday shopping and wanted some easy takeout on the way home. I forgot that I had been here years ago and ended up calling in a pickup order. We had beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, some steamed dumplings, and an order of crab rangoon. I will say that not all run of the mill Chinese takeout spots are created equal and this one sits on the higher end of the scale. The food was great and the price was very fair. My wife and I had a tough workout at Planet Fitness, and we were starving. PF is in the same parking lot as the Banboo Garden Restaurant. The restaurant is rather small, with only 4 tables if you choose to eat in. From what I saw while I was there is that the majority of their business is take-out. The atmosphere was a little noisy, with employees of the restaurant speaking loudly/yelling back and forth. Also, I saw that the tables were not being wiped down in between customers. I had to whipe off my own table with napkins provided by the cashier. As to the food, we had chicken with vegetables and egg drop soup. Portions were large enough for my wife and I to share the chicken with vegetables. Both the main dish and the soup were very tasty. The food is good but I would recommend take-out instead of eating in. If you're looking for carry out, the food is exceptionally good but the experience of eating in the restaurant was not so good. read more

Third time there and it's been disappointing every time. My Sezchuan chicken looked like they just dumped the bottom of a jar of sauce on top. Gross! As I walked out every dirty table had full plates of food left that looked like a disgusting orange chicken meatball! Never again read more

While Bamboo Garden may not look like much, at this price point, you're in for some solid Chinese. We securely ordered at the window (similar to a NY bodega) and waited outside for our order. We appreciate and applaud BG's covid protocol(s) commitment. The sesame chicken was classically prepared and had just the right amount of flavor. The cashew chicken, rangoons, and egg rolls are exactly what you'd expect from both their descriptions and pictures. The buffalo wings were small and too greasy. We're unsure why we ordered wings because we've had this issue with Chinese wing preparation methods before. Most importantly, our order was 100% accurate. Take out and delivery has been inconsistent (understatement) the last two years and we were THRILLED when we got home to find our EXACT order prepared and precisely packaged. Our only feedback would be to create a better "order ready" notification system for those who wait. We were outside, masked up, and our order sat around for at least an extra ten minutes until we thought to check on it. Employees were walking in and out of the main doorway the entire time we were waiting. While disappointed, we understood that BG was busy and perhaps lost track of us in the shuffle. My husband and I visited Bamboo Garden after a tough workout at Planet Fitness in Mt. Pleasant. The restaurant is located in the same plaza with plenty of parking. The eat-in area is VERY small. I didn't call it a dining room because it's not. They only have about 2 small tables and a few chairs thrown around for carry out customers. We ordered at the front counter. It's all business with no exchange of pleasantries. You have an open view to the kitchen, which wasn't appealing for me. We both ordered chicken with Chinese vegetables and egg drop soup. Even though we ordered to eat in the food, it was served in plastic containers with plastic silverware. The food was good and priced competitively with other Chinese food carry out places. I wouldn't recommend eating in. The kitchen staff was extremely noisy, and there was a poor dining experience with the noise and sitting right next to people waiting for their carryout. My husband had to wipe off the table before we sat down. No customer service. This is a carry out business, and if you are looking for that, then you should be ok. read more

I have been very disappointed in the last two meals I have ordered from here. The first was teriyaki chicken. It was very dry with very little sauce and the fried rice is different (and not as tasty) as what I'm used to. Last night I ordered the Chicken Chow Mei Fun. There was a ton of noodles, very little chicken, and virtually no sauce. I don't know if they have new chefs or what, but the food is not nearly as good as it used to be. I was so upset to find there was no rice in my take out bag when I got home. When I called they didn't offer to do anything and when I pressed they said they would give me a free rice next time. As solid a Chinese take out as you'll find. The food is always fast, hot, and accurate. They crank them out quickly and get the line moving fast to keep it a true carry out experience. A lot of their items they actually prep themselves ( the creamcheeses wontons in particular). They are efficient and do it with a nice attitude and a smile! No, I'm serious. Luckily, Bamboo Garden is a solid place. It's about what you'd expect for this type of restaurant, consistent, quick...I always get egg drop soup and tofu with mixed vegetables. Generous portions. Best Chicken Lo Mein & Crab Rangoons. Don't like Chinese food? Their chicken wings rock! The only things I've had that I didn't Carr for was: Shrimp w/lobster sauce, Shrimp Toast & the BBQ beef skewers.
