We booked the 90 minute deep tissue couples massage for $260 and paid online. My massage went fairly well (4/5 stars). The masseuse used a lot of pressure at stressful points in my muscles. A couple of instances were a little painful, but expected. I appreciate they use the full 90 minutes. After the massage, my partner exited towards the reception desk. I immediately tipped my masseuse with cash. My partner doesn't carry cash, so I needed to get change at the reception. As I'm following my partner to the front, my masseuse tells the receptionist something that makes her immediately ask me if the tip I gave was for 2 massages. I said "no I need to get change for the other tip." This was an awkward exchange. It didn't feel right how they inquired for tip, and that took my thoughts away from enjoying the experience. One of my family members and I first visited this place in November, and later invited another one the following month because of how nice our experience was. This is located the hub of an incredibly busy and popular tourist spot that has Knott's Berry Farm, the popular restaurants on Beach Blvd, Disneyland a couple of min. away, and many other hot landmarks. Getting a massage is an *essential* bucket list if you're a tourist visiting from far away or a local here in SoCal! -- A m b i e n c e -- You'll honestly feel like you traveled to another country! The exterior looks nothing like the inside... The owners clearly went all out with the decor! It's completely surrounded with bamboo decorations, soothing lighting, and an inviting atmosphere that feels like you aren't in Buena Park. The music was the perfect touch where they had instrumental piano and violin covers that were both peaceful and subtly familiar. It really added to the serene atmosphere. The comfort level is also exceptional! The bed was heated, which helped the muscles relax even before the massage began. Everything was clean, including the soft, fresh blankets and linens. -- M a s s a g e -- The massage services itself were outstanding. The masseuses were skilled, attentive, and accommodating. For my 2nd visit, I even brought my own scented oil and they were happy to use it! -- P a y m e n t -- All payments can be sent via Zelle, cash, or card (includes a service fee if card is used). Before the massage, the payment was handled upfront, making the end of the service seamless. Gratuities for your masseuses are accepted in case or via Zelle at the end of your sessions. -- S u g g e s t i o n s -- We have four small suggestions for improvement which are: (1) ...hopefully have rubber slippers to wear between the changing area and the bed because we were barefoot on the carpe. Not alot of places offer 120 minutes. I dent feel complete with a 60-minute massage and 90 is just about right. But then i saw that option I was in. I just had completed the Long Beach Marathon bike tour and this option was it. I called and was able to be seen within an hour. The entire place is beyond clean and smells quite nice. It is decently lit compared to other massage places ive been to in the past. But dark enough when you get to the table that it is nice. My therapist Sandy was amazing. I like getting my swedish and thai massage here. Everyone is nice and very polite. the place itself is clean and unique! The only downside is that they almost never answer their phone when we call. My friend and I came for a couples massage due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Yelp. We both did not enjoy the massage at all, as we were in pain the whole time! We both agreed, it felt like a lot of strong and repeated elbowing and extremely strong pressure one would get in a deep tissue massage when it was supposed to be a relaxing Swedish massage. I particularly did not enjoy being elbowed directly on my spine and glute region. I was completely tense and in pain the whole time and waiting for the session to be over. When I asked if this was the Swedish massage half way through my masseuse laughed and said it was and she was using her palms a lot. For the scalp massage, I thought she was going to crack my skull with the amount of pressure she was putting on my head! We paid for the massage walking in for the appointment, and honestly just wanted to immediately leave after it was done; but to add insult to injury, the front desk person asked how it was as I was trying to exit. I just wanting to be polite, while I waited for my friend to meet me at the front, said it was fine and didn't elaborate. Her tone then changed and said we needed to tip for the service. In my opinion, I don't think you should ever demand for a tip, rather that you can suggest it if you were pleased with the experience, but this person was pretty rude and presumptuous. I reluctantly sent a tip to the business via Zelle, which I thought was shady, and my Zelle errored out and got rejected. The lady mentioned to my friend that she didn't get my tip and looked annoyed. I tried again and the tip pushed through on a second try. My back feels worse than it did before going in. Though I asked for a deep tissue massage ($85), I was given a Swedish massage ($75), I already paid up front, so I asked for hard pressure. Ten minus starts I am a business owner located within walking distance of Bamboo Wellness. One day, I had neck pain and decided to support a neighboring business. After checking their website, I saw that booking online would save $5. While I wasn't concerned about the discount, I followed the instructions because the website stated that online booking was required. I entered my information, but when it came time to pay, the system simply would not process my payment--not with a credit card, Apple Pay, or Cash App. After multiple failed attempts, I decided to drive to the location. When I arrived, a lady greeted me. She was polite but had limited English. I gently mentioned that their website wasn't working and showed her my failed attempts to book online. She asked me to wait while she contacted her boss. Then, out of nowhere, a rude, obnoxious woman got on the phone and started yelling at me over speakerphone, saying, "You have to pay! You have to pay!" I was shocked by her unprofessionalism. I calmly tried to explain that I wasn't asking for a free massage--I was simply letting them know that their website had issues. Instead of listening, she continued to be disrespectful, loud, and completely unprofessional. It is absolutely disgraceful that this woman claims to be the owner. No business should treat customers this way. Instead of taking constructive feedback, she chose to be rude, dismissive, and offensive. I will never return, and I will never recommend this place to anyone. If this is how they treat potential customers, I can only imagine the poor quality of their actual services. I loved this place but today it was different only because of the miscommunication... last time I had a massage therapist named "MISA" supposedly and the massage was amazing (I'm 36 weeks pregnant) so I wanted one last amazing massage before my due date, I asked for Misa.. when I went in for my massage it was a whole different lady. This was our first time here for a couples massage, and we used a groupon. Setting up an appointment over the phone was easy and they had quite a few slots open for a Sunday. Our masseuses' did not appear to speak much English, but the front desk lady was there to translate. I'd rate the ambience a 5 except that the washing machine was nearby and made a lot of industrial noise which made for less relaxation than the music being piped in would allow. Still, the decor was extremely pleasing. As for the massage itself, it was all elbows and forearms. The lady I had was very tiny and needed to use her elbows/forearms in order to be strong enough for a deep tissue massage. While that's not what I'm used to, it still worked out in the end. Overall, I felt that I got a decent massage. I've definitely had better but I've certainly had worse. There was a point when the masseuse used hot rocks, which I hadn't ever had before, and I really enjoyed that portion. I'm not sure if I'd come back again, only because I have a tough back and I need some good thumb work rather than elbow work, but I did enjoy the experience and I thought it was worth the money. I can tell you that nobody has ever massaged my calves as well as she did. I didn't even know they needed a massage until she worked the kinks out. OMy husband and I were able to secure a last minute appointment on a Saturday afternoon. Thought I would give this place a shot since it had (overall) good reviews. Personally, I would only give 1 star, however, my husband said his massage was "ok". He said he has had much better massages elsewhere. The massage I received was (by far) the worst I have ever experienced. Usually before any good massage, the masseuse will ask if you have any areas of your back that they should focus on. Nope. She dove right in. I asked her to please use gentle, yet firm, pressure. I requested a deep tissue massage. The first 5-10 minutes consisted of her rubbing my back while the sheet was covering me. The style of massage it was turning into was Thai - which isn't what I was after. At all. I do not enjoy Thai massages and asked that she switch over to deep tissue using gentle pressure. She poured oil on my back and started to massage my back using quick strokes all over the place. I questioned whether the woman massaging me even had a license. You know how when you're getting a massage, the masseuse has a "road map" of what they're doing. They will start on one side, then do the exact same thing on the other side. They'll focus on one area, then move on to the next. This massage was ALL over the place. I believe another reviewer called it "free style". I think we had the same person. I mean it was elbows, forearms, rubbing all over the place with zero thought, and zero focus on getting to the knots on my shoulders. Usually a good masseuse will hone in on the knots and try to work them out. Nope. Not during this session. I think I spoke up several times during the service guiding her to the areas of my back I would like her to focus on. To her credit, she did. Oh boy did she. She ended up digging hot stones into my back. I repeatedly had to remind her to go gentle. To be honest, I couldn't wait for the massage to be over. Oh! Another gem. In the middle of the service, another woman walked in and the two began to whisper to each other. That was distracting. When the service was over, my back was worse than when I first walked it. Omg... I was so sore!! I could barely get off the table and dress myself. I had to be helped into the car. I took a hot bath and Tylenol to take the edge off my pain.
