This place was a one-and-done experience for us. Never again!!…read more My husband and I ended up here after the Dave Chappelle show because our original dinner plans fell through when the restaurant was fully booked. We should have made reservations, but at that point, all we wanted was a decent meal (nothing fancy) after a long workweek and then to head home. Unfortunately, a decent meal didn't happen. The food was some of the worst we've had in a long time. My husband actually spit food into his napkin, shook his head, and said, "I'm done." I've never seen him do that before. Several dishes were simply inedible. The mashed potatoes were bland and flavorless--how do you mess up mashed potatoes? The potato salad was equally bland and disappointing. The French onion soup had very little broth and was overloaded with a thick layer of hardened cheese. Overall, the food tasted cheap and poorly prepared, yet the prices suggested otherwise. It felt like diner-quality food being sold at premium prices. What made the experience even more frustrating was the manager's response. He came to our table after hearing about our concerns, but instead of focusing on the quality issues we raised, he seemed more concerned that my husband refused to order a replacement meal. That spoke volumes about where the priorities were. The one bright spot was our server, who was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. No complaints regarding the server as he was extremely apologetic with our experience. To our surprise, the restaurant also added an automatic gratuity to our bill. Ironically, had that not been done, we likely would have tipped our server more because he was not the problem. The kitchen and management were. No, I didn't complain about the tip after I noticed it on our bill. We were over the experience and just wanted to pay and get the hell out of there. Save yourself the disappointment and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. We certainly wish we had. Gordon Ramsay, if you're looking for a future Kitchen Nightmares episode, this place could desperately use the help. P.S. A business name change is not going to help with the quality of the food. Do better and prove that you actually care about your customers, not just the $$.

It seems simple, however, this is not the case with all estate sale companies. They have a good, positive attitude. We attend Emerald sales at least 2 weekends a month and shopping with them is fun and fair. Emerald is considered a favorite by most resellers and regular estate sale customers. They conduct most of the very large mansion sales in McClean and other affluent areas. Inventory is displayed beautifully and in a way that makes it easy for everyone to shop in an organized manner. We thought it was important for Emerald to be recognized for their honesty and professionalism in such a difficult arena. They value their clients, as well as their shopping customers and they want both to be happy. Thank you for offering such outstanding service.

The way they laid out their inventory was in a very professional manner. I had the chance to meet Eric the owner and was very impressed with how he handles the sales. He not only helped assist me but at the same time coordinate the items going to auction. Such a smooth and professional experience I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of there sales to come in the DMV. Thank you again!

It had been a while, so I didn't realize they had moved to this location sharing a new home with two other shops. I perused the wares to see what was available, taking in the plants, array of vintage furniture and other little quirky offerings. The plants were priced higher than some of the potted plants at Ace Hardware, although a few of them did come in unique planters so that could explain the price difference. A lot of the furniture is also for sale, except for a few pieces which were clearly marked as "not for sale". Everything is laid out thoughtfully and made for perusing. I wasn't greeted upon entering, but the other people that walked in after me were. And when I got to the register, the cashier didn't engage in friendly chatter with me like she did the other patrons. It felt like she wanted me out as soon as possible. While the old location of House Mouse was small and didn't hold as many books as this new location, I didn't have that kind of experience in the old shop. Your mileage may vary upon your visit, but I don't think I'll be back.
