The store itself was well stocked with items, but the prices here were a bit high for the styles of merchandise they had. A family member of ours has some of the items being sold here and she told us that they were from a few seasons ago and the pricing wasn't much different than the retail price. In the end, the store was average but what made our experience special was the incredible staff who made us feel welcome. This is expecially important this time of year. In the future we will come back to this store but hopefully during a clearance sale.

I walked into the store, the Saturday after Christmas and was immediately handed a 20% coupon and they were currently running a 50% sale already! I was in heaven! The only thing that was lacking was the 00p. They had a lot of 00, just not petits and that goes for all the sizes. So I got the things I knew would fit me and that was the tops. I also loaded up on some jewelry and things for the man. There are lots of employees here, but none of them really asked if people needed assistance with finding stuff. They seemed mainly concerned with ringing people up. I was asked at the register if I had any help and I happily told them no. I had over $500 worth or items and was happy to see my total drop to $200 after my discounts. I went back to exchange something two weekends later, because it turned out to be too small for my man. The store seemed to have been ransacked... And there many empty shelves. Either the sale went great or they are not really good about restocking. Either way, the store is a great deal when compared to normal jcrew. Just not the service. Will I go back? Yes, I may not like the service there, but I do love the sales and discounts. I'm too much of a jcrew lover to have it affect me.

Though the outlets, in general, have few stores that interest me now (J. Crew, Banana Republic, and kiosk in the food court that sells cinnamon rolls bigger than my head), this J. Crew outlet fails to disappoint. I can always walk away with SOMETHING. Almost all bases are covered here: clothing for men, women, and a "crewcuts" section for the wee little preppy children. Sometimes the sales are *myeh* (e.g.: The clothes I always want the most are on sale for $5 off; that cute cream-colored pencil skirt my eye was immediately drawn to upon entering the store? Down from $75 to $70. I might as well buy it in the city...) Conversely, there are always great deals on basics. T-shirts, sweaters, and cardigans are regularly 20 - 40% off, and the sales rack does yield some cute things at great bargains. This place is clean and tidy, too. Ever been to an outlet where it looks like a tornado hit the clothes? (Or, perhaps, it looks like a tourist group full of bossy women with crunchy blonde hair and fanny packs tore it apart with little regard for others?) Rarely do I come across a clothing display in which even a shirt collar is askew or a button is not done up when it should be. It's beautifully maintained, absolutely. Granted, it's a 45 minute trip from my parents' house, and Woodbury Commons isn't THAT far from NYC, but I love this store. Absolutely. When I need to get my Sexy Work Lady look in order, my pilgrimage yields rewards...like V-neck leopard-print cardigans.

That is the Fisher Home Hospice Shop: a marvelous showroom of timeless artifacts, clothes, books, games, and necessities that you might overlook or fail to live without. Let me give you a nice laundry list of my purchase of a tidy litany of needs, all for under a hundred dollars: Relevant literature/books for me, my new favorite clutch purse bag, snow gloves, two phone holders for vehicles, fine clothing for me and my family, household staples like notepads or three ring binder punches, and for sure my list could go on. Let's stop saying that the money you pay for these is too much or too little and instead look to what your purchase does: it funds the Fisher Hospice Home. This isn't your typical 'store,' and would be more fair to call it a non-profit venture. Volunteers maintain the store floor, swap out goods seasonally, review donations, and they all work as volunteers, for gratuity alone. The love they spend on what visitors might like is obvious, from their childrens' toy section, to their miniature library, to the household goods section. The space is maintained, full of light, and is accessible. What might challenge you is that what you find here is going to be more personal to you, instead of some wide class you happen to be a part of. That is what happens when you merchandise in timeless necessities--you would just as likely find a selfie stick here as you might find typewriter paper. What you leave with is actually liberating: there's no tracker of your behavior as a consumer, there's no brand loyalty that you're analyzed for, you're just a local shopper. Perhaps that's why the Fisher Home Hospice Shop feels like any internationally savvy visitor would visit, because what strikes you might be as surprising as any other bargain reseller, like Marshalls or TJ Maxx. Here, it's local, it's for a cause, and it's open to the public. A former friend recommended I visit the Fisher Home Hospice Shop, and I now regret I thought their advice meant I would only visit once! :)

Every single time we come in, she's always there. Never smiles, always very short if you talk to her, and sometimes outright rude. For some odd reason, interacting with her has become part of the experience in coming here. "How much you wanna bet I can make here smile?". "No way!" So, in a weird way, we look forward to seeing her. It's much smaller than your standard goodwill but still worth a look if you're in the area and have time.

Snarky, rude and poor customer care…read more There is a sales woman with brown long hair and light eyes who was unapologetically rude and ruined her own sale. My husband was carefully replacing a few socks that my daughter (3yo) had disturbed from their place on display. The saleswoman started to wave her hand frustratedly in my daughter's direction, while repeating "could she NOT! Could she NOT!" Lady, she's 3! And it was being refolded and replaced. I hope the owner knows that I walked OUT. I was planning on spending several hundreds of dollars but, because of that poor attitude, why would I support a brand that hires staff like that?!? When my husband told the woman that this was unacceptable and he was replacing the items to their original place and folding them, she proceeded to tell him to "get a grip sir!" Staff training on customer care is lacking and should immediately be addressed!

But being a Western girl myself, I was thrilled to see it when I first arrived here, and even more thrilled once I discovered just how *cool* the stuff on offer here really is. Tasha Polizzi, owner and main designer, worked with Ralph Lauren and Kevin Kline then apparantly decided to turn her attentions to the world of Western chic - which she does quite well. Many of the fashions on display at the store are designed by Polizzi, meaning that if you purchase it there, the odds of encountering smeone else wearing it are fairly minimal. This is a good thing. You can buy everything from designer cowboy boots to home furnishings to hot sauce here, though the focus seems to be on rural-hip women's wear. Certainly all the ingredients you'll need to create a faux Western get-away and buy the clothes for it to boot are present here. Prices are high, but service is wonderful. I found a beautiful long synthetic buckskin coat here and bought it, but decided it was just too long for me. I asked if I could exchange it with a shorter version of the same coat, and the store immediately said it was okay and that they would make up the 40 dollar price difference in store credit. (Works for me.) They didn't even need to see my reciept. Nice of them!

I bought a fabulous coat that was on sale for $60. They have Minnetonka moccasins, Pendleton blankets and towels, cute cowboy hats and plush bison. The staff was so nice and told us stories about local places, gave me a million compliments, and even gave me a random hat for free. I just love this store. I want to live in it.
