I've been here at least 4 times. The food is very good. Jackpot poutine, the sandwiches, salads... no complaints. The service is very .. Quebec. Nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about. Tonight was a Sat night and it was busy. Eric, our waiter, did his best. We had a really nice time and whatever white wine they gave me (house?).. it was delicious. This place has a dinner buffet, Sunday Brunch buffet and a daily soup/salad buffet and you can also order off their wide-ranging menu. Their menu covers just about anything anyone could possibly have a yen for. They've got everything from pizzas, pastas, rotisserie chicken, ribs, sandwiches, burgers, salads, heavier meals and a whole page just dedicated to Poutine. They definitely get five stars for choice. I was there for lunch and despite the endless choices. I chose a plain old club sandwich. I split it with my mother and I'm glad we did because it arrived on a 14 inch platter and needless to say, it was giganormous! It came with coleslaw, a pickle and fries. The club sandwich was good except the tomatoes weren't fresh. They were mushy. Other than that everything was great and their fries were very good. They'd be even better if they'd have peeled them. Yeah I know it's the trendy thing not to peel them these days but they taste better peeled. So there! My brother ordered the fish and chips that also arrived on a huge platter. Was at the Hilton for a conference, so stopped by the Banco Bistro for dinner. Price-wise, it is much more affordable than the other restaurant in the casino. I ordered the mussels, and upgraded my side of fries to a poutine. The poutine was nothing to write home about, but the mussels - wow! I was not expecting a big bucket full of them, and the cheesy sauce was a delicious match. I was stuffed to the gills after polishing off the poutine. Pretty good selection from the menu - sandwiches, pizza, pasta, seafood, steak, etc. No complaints around the table with the 6 of us. Fast, friendly service. read more

Oh my it's been too long since I've been at the casino to eat. I'd say the last time I was here was for their dinner buffet special. Overall the place still looks the same. Looks like they still do the brunch and dinner buffets. Upon arriving we were met with the hostess who sat us pretty much wherever we wanted. A look of the menu revealed some interesting choices. At first glance I didn't see the side tabs so if you want to find a section quick look to the right and you'll see tabs! Duh! I elected to get the Jackpot burger while my partner today go the Po Boy Chicken sandwich. I was warned about the burger being extra messy as the buns are literally grilled cheese sandwiches. It was suggested I use a fork and knife to eat it which I quickly shot down! The food arrived timely and boy what a sight! You can expect to have to cut the burger in half in order to tackle by hand. The fries were so good and reminded me of the fries you'd get from Vera's. They were crunchy and crispy just the way I liked it. I was told the Po Boy Chicken sandwich was good and that it reminded them of KFC. I think the reference was a positive one and not a negative as the chicken sandwich was devoured! I loved my burger it was soooo good and yeah it can get messy but it's still. manageable. Definitely one I'd recommend or even order again! One thing thing was as I was trying to finish off the second half I found that I was having difficulties cause I was getting full. This despite coming here for lunch and for my first meal of the day. A suggestion which came after the fact was it would have been enough even if we had started with an Appetizer and shared my burger. Something to consider if you're not both heavy weight when it comes to eating. Our server was amazing and kept regularly checking up on us. In addition to this she was quite personable and engaging. One menu item she brought up that caught my attention was this special poutine that apparently is like 12 lbs! I'm definitely going to try that one next time! Went here for the brunch buffet on Christmas day. The selection was very limited and the options that were there were nothing to write home about. I would have figured that because it's Christmas, they'd have some relevant menu items but it was really only: eggs benedict (my favourite item there), potatos, ham, bacon, salmon and a bunch of salads etc. Desserts were also just ok. I remember going here around Thanksgiving in 2012 and they had cranberry/turkey etc which I really enjoyed. I also remember there being more options otherwise. Wow. When Noah K and I decided to spend Valentine's Day at Casino Lac Leamy, I had no idea I would have such an amazing meal. I figured, okay, great, likely a buffet with some decent food, but I was blown away by the food here, as well as the service. We came around 6:30 p.m. on Valentine's Day without a reservation, so I had no idea how busy it would be. We checked out the three main restaurants, and decided this was more our style and budget. We were greeted by a friendly young lady who told us it would be about a 45 minute wait, and we decided to go for it. We were given a ticket, and went to play some slots. After winning some money and a short wait, we returned upstairs and were seated almost immediately. The restaurant was buzzing and was pretty crowded, but the service was pretty flawless. The only thing that wasn't super awesome was how close the tables were (we could all hear each other's conversations...but I found that kind of interesting, haha!). They had a special Valentine's Day buffet for $40, but we decided to check out the menu, and thought we might not eat that much food (or we WOULD eat that much food and be so stuffed we would want to go home to bed, hahaha). We ordered a poutine to split, not knowing that the poutine was GIANT, and probably could have been our whole meal. It was basically like a small bucket of delicious fries, mounds of fresh curds and gravy. It was divine. Some of the best poutine I have ever had. We shoveled that in, and by the time our mains arrived, we were already fairly full. Nevertheless, I chowed down on my chicken wrap with coleslaw and fries, and it was fantastic. I know it's a simple thing, but every bite was delicious. We also ordered two of their special cocktails ($5) which were lychee berry, cranberry juice and vodka. Delish! We are trying to figure out how to make it at home and achieve the same results. Noah K had the Tex Mex burger which looked amazing, and I am sure he will tell you all about it in his review. Our server was pleasant and attentive and never let our water glasses go empty. Despite the crowd, we never felt rushed. I'd love to come back sometime and try their brunch buffet. I hate feeling like an out-of- towner, not knowing where to eat, going to the closest thing to our hotel. We were at the Hilton and wanted to try the Surf and Turf buffet prominently displayed in front of the restaurant. There was very little surf and only one kind of turf, small pre-cut steak slices. The food was very bland, no high end items like smoked salmon, it's about $30 for the night buffet, so was definitely expecting better. The Montreal Casino buffet is miles ahead of this one. read more

We arrived as a group of five people on a Thursday in June at about 430pm. The place was practically empty. We were greeted by unfriendly, unhelpful staff who explicitly told us we could only sit if we were going to order food. We arrived to order some drinks while sitting at the bar, and at only 430pm we were not quite hungry for dinner. (Incidentally, we had not started drinking beforehand, so it was not as if the staff were rude because we were intoxicated). I'm sure an hour or two later, we would have had an appetite to order food, but not at 430pm. The unfriendly staff asked us to leave if we would not immediately order food. They said it was their policy. I asked to see the policy, and was shown no such policy. Moral of the story. Be nice and accommodating to customers, and they will probably order multiple rounds of Drinks, as well as food, and will tip well, but we were not given the chance, so we had to leave. Ironically, we went to the bar downstairs in this same casino property, were allowed to order drinks without food, and were even offered free snack mix with our drinks. read more

I have never encountered such terrible service. I wished to celebrate my birthday with friends and had the necessary reservations made a week prior and provided a small warning that an additional table may be necessary. It all started going south when we were seated 30 minutes later than the agreed time. The hostess did apologize, which was fine. As we arrive to our table, I realized that three additional chairs were needed. I politely asked the waitress and the hostess if they could arrange to add the chairs to the end of our table to which they proceeded in saying "you had made reservation for x amount of people!" A rude response to which I added that I had warned an additional table may be necessary. The waitress was very vocal on how she was annoyed, a huge lack of professionalism. Additionally, when the food arrived, a waiter who was helping kept complaining out loud how he didn't know who's food was who rather than politely ask to whom it belonged. A huge disappointment was when a friend of mine, who is gluten intolerant, requested no croutons on her salad. Her salad came to the table....with croutons! She politely said that this was not what she had ordered. The waiter said "just pick them off...." It is quite lovely to know that the staff of Banco Bistro does not take food allergies in a serious manner. I was horrified, felt humiliated. I always come here for holidays with my family and we get the buffet, it's one of our favourite places to go together. Unfortunately after our trip yesterday for Easter I don't think so I'm a vegetarian which means there aren't many options, but I'm happy with the ones they do have, it's no big deal. I asked one of the waiters if the potato salad had any meat in it and he said no, for sure not because they would have labeled it if there was meat. Guess what happened when I took a bite? Big piece of bacon in my mouth. I was disgusted, mortified and so upset When I brought it up to my waiter he just said oh sorry and walked away. What if I had an allergy? Server ardenzai got our order wrong tried to tell us it wasn't wrong then caught an attitude and tried to tell us not to come back and kept poking his fingers aggressively in my friends face. Who does this to a group of girls coming for a night out??! Terrible!!! Good service up until we kindly asked him to fixed the orders and he got defensive. Not even worth the special anniversary ticket of $9.99 for the lunch buffet. There was only four or five other tables, so I don't know when the other reviewer dined there. Lots of pasta, overcooked meat and jello. They should market this special as 3pm dinner for the older folks. It was sad :o( read more

The à la carte dining experience was perfect!! They also offer a buffet, but I've never tried it because the food from the à la carte is amazing. If you're a fan of Bâton Rouge but wish to try something different then this is the place for you. For desert, the "tarte au sucre" is delishhhh. read more
