The people seemed nice, so I'm being kind by giving them two stars. The service was very slow and inefficient. The "Tex-Mex" was neither Tex nor Mex. The refried beans tasted like they were straight from a can. The carnitas was subpar. There were hard, inedible pieces and the primary flavor was salt. The burritos were covered in so much cheese, you couldn't tell what was in it. The restaurant was very tired looking and not very neat or clean. I live a mile from here, but won't be back. read more

Oh boy this is my favorite little Mexican restaurant. I like this place as the green chili is really good I tell ya. I asked my wife what she thinks of this place and she said, "it's ok." I know my wife doesn't like this place like I do. Then I asked her, "what is your favorite Mexican restaurant?" and she said, "I don't know." I thought that was an interesting answer, but all I said was, "Oh." Her favorite food is sushi FYI. Not only do I like eating Bandido's, I like eating sushi with her too. Well, it wasn't inedible, but my high school cafeteria had better tacos than this. Overall I'd say it was disappointing and bland.

This was our first time at the restaurant and the food was pretty good however the taco meat was a bit runny and the rice seem to be a little old. We also had a pretty long wait for our food (about 35 minutes from ordering). However the staff was very friendly and apologetic. Considering the prices (about $12 a person including drink) this was not a bad restaurant. However to be completely honest I really doubt that they will earn my business again only because of their lack of originality on their menu and the lack of distinct taste that would differentiate this restaurant from any other Mexican restaurant. read more

Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a sign asking us to wait to be seated. This is not normally an issue at all unless a guest stands there for 3 minutes while making eye contact with various staff members during that period before being verbally greeted. The customary salsa and chips brought to the table was a disappointment. How hard is it to make sure salsa isn't half water? I fear that the quality presented to us is a harbinger of further disappointment. I ordered a bandido burrito with chicken. I received a flat uninspired lump. A large tortilla not even half full drenched in a bland green chili. The house margarita required a search and rescue team to locate the tequila that was supposed to be hiding within. Bandidos is an old favorite. It's food is authentic and reliably good. I wish it had a more inviting bar setup because the one that's there has about only three or four seats in the end of the bar appears to be used as a counter for management to clutter up and work on. Unfortunately, the demographic of Bandidos consists of white, suburban, middle class Americans who do not have a reference as to what good Mexican food is. Therefore they believe this "food" is the greatest. This not the case. Sopapillas should never be served with cheap honey packets. Food has no flavor. read more

My parents had been mentioning this little restaurant for quite some time so we decided to join them last Saturday after a trip to the Denver Auto Show. Bandido's is tucked away on a little strip mall off of Kipling just south of Quincy. It truly is a little neighborhood gem if there ever is one. While the cuisine is good and tasty, I give the establishment 2 stars because 1) it doesn't really stand out from any of the other Mexican food places that I have visited and as a matter of fact lacks in several areas and 2) granted it was a busy Saturday evening but it took a very long time to get our check at the end of our meal even after saying we were finished with the meal and our plates had been cleared. One other gripe, though it wasn't relevant to my entree was my Dad ordered the fajitas and while they brought plenty of meat and onions/peppers, the condiments were a tad scarce (small plate of cheese, guac, sour cream, and pico) and he only received 3-4 very small tortillas. My girlfriend was generous enough to give up half of her much larger tortilla so he could finish off his fixin's. As for my meal, I got the Bandiburger which is a double burger smothered with green chili. The chili is good but not at all spicy. The meat however was very flavorful and really stood out in the mixture going on on the plate. My girlfriend had a combo plate (chili relleno) which looked good and my mom had a Mexican hamburger which was very similar to my meal sans the bun and French Fries. The other thing that makes this restaurant a bit below the other places we've been to is that they charge an extra $2.00 for rice and beans on their combo meals and an extra $0.99 for extra chips and salsa (which are cold and seemed to be either store bought or made in the morning and left out all day). Overall the food is good, but I feel one can definitely get a better experience for the buck elsewhere. read more

Delicious! I called ahead to order food so I could pick it up after a long day of yard work! When I got there, it wasn't quite ready yet, so I had a margarita at the bar while I waited. It was good. The dining area isn't HUGE, but adequate. Staff was friendly. The food was delicious and hot even when I got home. It's in a small shopping strip off Kipling, and I imagine it's not real busy... My family has been visiting Bandidos for 20 years. The food is very consistent, always fresh, and wait staff are pleasant. Portions are good and you can ask for spicy chili if that's what you like. They had the best flan for dessert for a long time, but it isn't offered anymore. I will continue to go here as one can always get a tasty hot meal in a quiet neighborhood atmosphere. read more

Bandido's is big enough and open enough to fit a large group, but quiet and cozy enough to have a conversation at your booth with your friends. the food is good, and priced fairly. 3 beers on tap is nice, more would be better, but at least they have beer! Took over an hour to get lunch. Place wasn't that busy. Food was stale. Plate was super hot so you could tell it was ready and just sitting under a heat lamp waiting for the server. I ordered the taco and tostada lunch combo. Apparently taco only comes with meat and cheese. Not hot sauces were offered or available for food. When we arrived a table near the door was not bussed and when we left that same table still hadn't been bussed. Would not recommend or return. read more

If you're expecting authentic Mexican food, this place is not for you. Maybe it's just me but when I go to a Mexican restaurant and order a taco I don't expect a hard shell taco. I feel safe saying that Taco Hell has better hard shell tacos. To add on top of that the service was not very good either. We felt forgotten most of the time. Queso was the best part of dinner but the chips could have been fresher or warmed. The relleno looked good but it wasn't cleaned properly and it was full of seeds and core. The waitress said that's the way they do all of them which to me says lazy cook. Ruined the entire relleno. Green chilli was more like gravy but it had good flavor. Bandido's is my local Mexican place and my family and I go quite often. I always get a smothered bean burrito because I love their beans and green chile. However, while really good in flavor the green chile is not at all spicy, so if that is something you need then this is not the place for you. (For great, spicy pork green chile in the same area, try Maria's over by Bear Creek High School.) Other good items are the enchiladas and flautas. I love the staff here too. They are always very friendly and attentive, but not overly so. It's a nice, quiet, simple Mexican restaurant and I recommend it. read more
