I discovered Cencalli from a Yelp event and really enjoyed their birria tacos. We met another…read morecouple at their downtown Littleton location for a fun date night. We arrived early at 5pm and it was already packed! The secret is out! Service was friendly. Margs were delicious. Good was great. Loved that the Burria tacos are crispy and not so oily that so many places get wrong. Chips, salsa and guacamole were great. Breakfast burritos all day which made my friend and husband very happy. I would probably get the tacos next time. We will definitely be back! Parking was easy to find on the street.

I don't remember what I ordered though so at the time it just wasn't very stand out-ish. I recently went back with some friends because I told them I was in the mood for tacos. I tried a few different ones, the Carnitas, the Barbacoa, and the Lengua. I was full with three, but it was so good. I ordered a fourth and my husband who normally gets my leftovers - didn't get any leftovers from me this time! He got a couple different tacos from what I had largely. We ordered about the same, but he got the shrimp which he said was delicious as well. I also tried the signature, Bellanova margarita - I must say that was a little unexpected, not your traditional margarita it was very sweet, so probably not something I'd order again since I prefer stronger tasting drinks, but the coconut flavor in it was delicious if you like coconut. The service was excellent! When we arrived, the interior was super packed and super loud so I was very relieved when we got to sit on the back patio, which turned out great because even though there was a little noise there, we were able to hear each other much better. The server was excellent. She kept checking on us. She answered all our questions and was very kind and accommodating. I've been thinking about the tacos since then, it's been about a week, I can't wait to go back.

Oh, and that wonderful live guitar music? Trickery to get you to spend a little more time and maybe order a nice mezcalrita and some of their chips and salsa. The wait staff is very attentive too and happy to find quieter seating when the main area gets too loud, which only prompts me to tip well. As sneaky as it is tasty.

Once it cooled it became thick and coagulated. Not super appealing. I ordered 1 pescado and 1 vegan, not normally my jam but I thought I'd try it. One bite and had to set it back down. Tasted old refrigerator -- and no salt. It was quite disgusting. The Pescado was ok - pretty much what I would have expected. Not warm though. My wife ordered 1 al Pastor and 1 carnitas taco. Both were room temperature. Told the waitress and she brought another Al Pastor and it was the same temperature. The carnitas appeared to be yesterday's meat so hard and inedible. -- she lost her appetite and didn't eat anything else. Long story short, we won't be returning to Palenque ( note: the mgr removed the al pastor from the bill )

One thing I really appreciate is the fast service and how quickly the food comes out, even when they're busy. The service is impressively fast. The ambience is great and there's plenty of seating, so even though it's popular, it never feels cramped. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Los Dos Portillos is consistently good. I've been to multiple locations, and the quality is just as good every time. Occasionally, you'll even catch a mariachi band, which adds a really fun, authentic vibe. One time they even humored me and played "Poco Loco," which thoroughly delighted me. There will almost always be a wait on Friday and Saturday nights, but honestly, it's a reflection of how popular the place is, and it's worth it. I grew up in an area with a high Hispanic population, so my standards for Mexican food are pretty high. This place absolutely delivers. It's one of those spots I keep coming back to, and I'm never disappointed.

To start, we were seated right next to the back door with an alarm peeping the entire time, despite the restaurant being practically empty. The service was disappointing from the beginning. It took quite a while for our server to greet and take our order, and we didn't receive enough menus or water for everyone at the table. Once the order was placed our server disappeared. No follow-up, no check-ins and the when food finally arrived meals and bills were mixed up. I had hope to place a to-go order, but the lengthy wait left me out of time. I later return specifically to place that to-go order hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately it was more of the same. The constant "honey" " darling" and "sweetheart" felt force and insincere, almost mocking . Which only added to the frustration. If you are looking for good Mexican food and don't mind poor service or less-than pleasant dining experience, this is the place for you! If customer service matters you might want look elsewhere
