The server was quick to welcome us, taking our drink orders, and providing us with more time with the menu due to our first visit. The menu is extensive and has the standard offerings of other local Mexican restaurants. Lunch included the Chimichanga with green chili and sides of rice and beans, and the other a combo plate of the Beef Burrito, Cheese Enchilada and Pork Tamale. The server asked if we wanted mild, medium or hot green chili, which was a nice offering. For us the hot green chili was very good, with enough heat to make us "sweat", but not overpower our taste buds. The medium was just about right for nice flavorful meal with the lingering heat. All the meals were served quickly and piping hot and had nice flavor all around. Overall, the lunch was good and service excellent, and parking was great with plenty of off-street parking. I would not hesitate to return when in the mood for some consistent and comfort Mexican food, and great service. Tips for your visit: Lunch time is a slower time for them, so both times I visited we were able to sit and visit with friends without feeling rushed.

Since we also always tip heavier during the holidays, it brought LUNCH to nearly $80.00. This same meal a year ago was about 38.00 - which was still pricey but ok. The year before it was about 32.00. I double checked the receipt because I figured it must be a mistake but, nope, it wasn't. So, my friends at Mi Cocina, I've really enjoyed being a VERY regular customer for you for many years (at least 2-3 times a month) but must say goodbye, those prices are just too insane for standard Mexican fare.
