I was quite pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. Went on a whim, as I was hungry and in the area, and I am glad I did. Staff was smiling, fast, helpful, and kind. The service is very friendly, Maria was our server and we really liked her! The restaurant is extremely clean and well taken care of. Our meals were good, but also very bland. My husband ordered the carnitas burrito and the green chile had no flavor; it literally didn't taste like anything at all somehow. I ordered carnitas sopes - let me tell you, their beans are GOOD!! - but not much here either by way of flavor either. And skip the tomatillo salsa; it is actually truly not good and opt instead for more of their red salsa. The red salsa is not spicy at all, but has a lot of really good flavor! Just got into town and we wanted to grab a quick dinner, so decided to check this neighborhood spot out. My friend who lives In the area has driven by it a million times! It was a great vibe inside....nice size bar, plenty of TVs with Thursday Night Football and very clean. Our server was great and very attentive. Food was pretty good and all of their meats were seasoned well. I didn't get a pic of the Birria tacos but let me tell you....their consome was delish as well as the Birria. I've been eyeing Old Santa Fe for a while. The dining room is clean and nicely decorated. I thought the music a little loud, which hindered conversation a bit. The good was excellent. Combo #4 let me try a little bit of many items. The crispy chile relleno was excellent. The tamale and shredded beef enchiladas were also very good, although I would have liked more sauce in the tamale. The ground beef enchilada was just ok. I thought it was a bit bland because it lacked the flavor of the other items. Our server was good. He was generally attentive, although we did have to flag him down to order. After that, he and his colleagues checked our table regularly for more chips and water refills. Overall, only a a couple minor things that kept this from being an outstanding visit. But I don't think those kept this from being a 5-star visit. I look forward to dining again and trying more dishes. read more

Ate there last night on Father's Day. Great as always. Again the house Margaritas are really good.

We took a chance and came here on Cinco de Mayo at 6pm. The whole restaurant was packed. Which was both a good sign and also a dread. We hoped to get seated and luckly we did right away! We were greeted with complimentary chips and salsa. We looked over the extensive menu and waited. We finished the chips and salsa before we had our drink orders taken. Then waited again to have our food orders taken. It's been awhile since we encountered a super packed restaurant so we were patient and enjoyed the liveliness. I then ordered the Chile rellenos and my bf ordered the chimichanga. Our food probably took about 45 minutes to be made so altogether we waited about a little over an hour since being seated. The food came out piping hot and I knew I had to try their green Chile sauce before it got cold. Immediately had bursts of delicious flavors. I was very pleased. Not only because we were hungry, but because it was really good. Now I've had Chile rellenos before and usually it's a stuffed pepper. This was more like a fried egg roll filled with cut green peppers and cheese. Probably would love something else on the menu, but I'm glad I tried it. The fried dishes were not crispy due to the sauces. The rice and beans were really good and comes with most of their entrees. I'd come back again but definitely on an off night. read more

We had a taste for Mexican food while driving down Broadway from downtown Denver. I remembered a Taco place near the ARC store on Littleton Boulevard. I got in the turn lane for the Taco place when my wife decided it didn't look like a place she wanted to go. So I pulled into the ARC parking lot to turn around. That's when I saw the Old Sante Fe sign in the strip mall behind ARC. The place is bigger than I expected, yet it still has a cozy feel to it. The lighting is not obnoxiously bright like some places. The insides are colorful and comfortable. When we were seated we got complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa isn't very spicy which is good. (Sometimes the salsa is so spicy my tongue is numb by the time my food comes.) The menu is filled with every imaginable Mexican meal and they even serve burgers in case someone in your party doesn't feel like Mexican. I tried the smothered burrito and my wife had chicken tacos. It was all delicious. We also asked for a little sample of their mole. It was very good. Being as this was our first time, our server was very patient and helpful. We'd come back to eat here in a heartbeat! read more

We loved everything on our visit. We had the sweetest and most helpful server too! It was clean, cozy and welcoming. And started to fill up as dinner hours emerged. We got there a little early. The food was great. Had chorizo with queso and the chorizo was so yummy! Very fresh tasting, usually I find chorizo has a mildly unpleasant old fat taste and don't like it. This was delicious and I keep going back for a bite. I got fajitas, mixed, and found the price really inviting and the portion generous and yummy. It was nicely grilled but not burned (been served half burned fajitas a lot lately for some reason). The beans and rice were simple but hearty and I enjoyed the rice with a drizzle of the queso over it. I tried their homemade salsa verde and loved it! Highly recommend that too. Chips and salsa were complimentary and refilled also for free. I think we found our new favorite Mexican place nearby. I usually drive all the way down to Castle Rock for good Mexican and kind service but I love having a closer and delicious option. Husband got a pork burrito and even that was amazing and I don't enjoy burritos a ton. I will say it wasn't one of those massive forearm sized burritos, but he was totally full and happy with his dinner and he has a bigger appetite so it was plenty. 10/10 would recommend! This restaurant was one of our favorites that we went to at least every other week. After the last two visits I have experienced there, I think I am ready to find a different Mexican restaurant to go to. The owner use to be around more often or his brother during the week, and in my opinion it made a difference. The service is not at all what I am used to when I have been there lately. They also use to have pretty decent drinks in their bar for happy hour. Tonight was the worst because the bartender has no idea what he is doing back there, and unfortunately he was also our waiter for the second time in the last two weeks. I think he needs a little more training in how to make drinks and wait on tables . Also now they are adding some type of an additional fee on the bill if you don't pay in cash and use a credit card. I really want to support small business, but when these type of things happen it is hard to do so. Hopefully they can get their bartender situation under control and train their staff a little better, and go back to the way they use to be. read more

I have been a regular patron since moving to Littleton and have been quite pleased. Yesterday I had a terrible experience. It was off beginning from seating. We ordered the usual Diet Coke with lime. It came with lemon. We again asked for lime. 3 requests later we got 2 dried up pieces of lime. Our Queso Blanco arrived cold, no flavor, no heat no salt. We tried added the salsa to the queso. It didn't work. Our fajitas arrived with raw vegetables. Our sides were also cold. Not once did anyone question why the food was not eating. Our server was mostly missing in action. A staff member came by to clear the plates. We told her it was terrible and she replied "I'm glad you liked it". I said "no". It was awful. She replied "I'll bring you a bag". Clearly there was a language barrier. Not one person wanted to know why there was a full table of food. I left a message on the ticket to call... no call... They have mole. That's all I needed to know in order to march myself right in the front door for dinner one night. Apparently, mole is hard to come by in this area and while I keep looking for it, Old Santa Fe had it and it was pretty good. It's sweet, smoky, spicy and almost exactly what I was looking for. I had chicken mole enchiladas and they were very, very good. Here's the catch. I don't really remember anything else. Service was good because I didn't whine to my husband. I think they had very large cups for water or pop. The chips and salsa were average as I recollect. But that mole...just go try it. read more
