Stopped by for lunch on our way down to the Redwoods…read more There's plenty of parking right outside in the lot. The restaurant overlooks the water so there's a nice view from inside. The restaurant itself is small, clean, with a good amount of seating. We came in when the machine was broken so they only took cash. Thankfully, there's an ATM in the Bandon cafe down the street so it wasn't much of an issue. I ordered the dungeness crab and shrimp sandwich at market price which was around $21. A little pricey for a sandwich, but worth it. The sandwich was packed to the brim with fresh crab and shrimp. You have the option of coleslaw or fries. I chose the fries which were fresh and flavorful with a nice crunch. The sandwich was extremely filling and can easily be split between 2 people. I'm tempted to come back again one day to try their fish and chips and clam chowder as well.

Not terrible. Everything came piping hot except the coleslaw it was chilled. The batter was a little thicker than I prefer and even cooked to a deep brown (not burnt) there were clumps against the fish that was still uncooked doughy batter. The batter had interesting seasoning that was a bit on the sweet side but overall tasty. Six big nuggets of fish. I forgot to get a picture right away but pulled two out. Lots of fries. Under seasoned but for health reasons of various people that is understandable. Coleslaw was not bad, had dried cranberries which was different. Not bad but not life changing. Overall a good meal.

I opted for the fish tacos and boy they did not disappoint. Lightly fried tortilla and fresh fish with plenty of cabbage and onions and cilantro. I was a little worried about the TNT sauce on the side, but it was da bomb sauce! Order 2! I was stuffed but I got them down. Would absolutely recommend. While I was eating a few kids came in with their parents and the man who greeted me, bright or a crab and was giving the kids a lesson about crabs. They were so enthralled and I lived hearing their little voices asking questions. What an amazing local experience. Great job!!

One half looked like a low rent tourist shop and the other half was a tiny window and only a few spots to sit. Definitely not what I was expecting. The fish looked like cat food, all chopped up and mixed in with the cabbage and cream that tasted so much like mayo I thought I was served tuna salad for a second. They were then served on the most anemic looking tortillas ever with the blandest pico de gallo ever. No salt, all mayo flavor. Tacos like this are why people say there aren't any good tacos in Oregon. The staff was ok I guess, however when I was a little confused on the menu the kid behind the counter smirked and talked to me like I was 5 instead of just answering my question. I definitely won't be back to this spot...... #onthehuntforgoodfishtacosinoregon

A reasonably good grocery store for a small rural town in Oregon, but still missing many things I'm…read morelooking for. For example, I was looking for tzatziki, and no store employee I talked to even knew what it is. That said, you can get almost anything you need there, just not everything you want. The produce department is small, but reasonably well stocked. The butcher counter has almost everything you might seek, but you won't find the normal coolers filled with prepackaged meat and poultry (that's not necessarily bad, just unusual). They have a good selection of many items, and very few of some others. One complaint: It's clear that many of the items are stocked by distributors, not store employees, so different brands of the same item are often not found together -- which makes comparing what's available a pain in the tail -- not cool. That means you can search all over, not find exactly what you're looking for, settle for something less than ideal, only to find the similar item which is what you really wanted later in a different location. Argh!! My experience in Bandon is that I have to go to both McKay's and Ray's in order to get the things I need on any given grocery run -- there's always something that one store doesn't have, that I hope the other does.

We found what we needed for dinner, including a Rotisserie chicken. This is a review on the Rotisserie chicken: I wanted crispy chicken, not greasy unhealthy chicken, that something we can snack on or have for lunch, while in the car, on our way home. We put it back in the oven, & re-roasted it for another 20 minutes. It still not cooked enough, the leg was bleeding! I ate just the wing. Hubby froze the chicken, and when we drove back home 8 hours later (with ice pack in our cooler), the chicken was still very cold. We put the chicken in the toaster oven, and broiled the remaining pieces for 15 mins. and only then, the chicken became BETTER, FINGER-LICKING GOOD, and perfectly done - crispy how we like it!

Honestly, the name is a bit deceptive. Sure, they have cranberry sweets, but they also have sweets…read morein just about every other fruit you can name. And wine or beer sweets. And chocolate. And snacks. And bath and body items...okay, you get the idea. As far as the sugary goods go, their pate de fruit is oft spotted at specialty stores around Oregon, and the treat that originally introduced me to Cranberry Sweets. It is excellent! They offer plenty of prepackaged varieties and mixes, but since you're at the store, take advantage of the counter where they have near 20 flavors you can mix and match, many not available elsewhere! I especially love the raspberry and Marionberry flavors, but you'll be pleased with any. They even have a few sour tart varieties. They also sell chocolates, again with the option of prepackaged or choose your own. I especially enjoyed their well made caramel and truffles. They had a little "oops" section in the back corner with discounted treats, and the right hand side of the store has non-edibles like soaps, lotions, kitchen items like towels, plates, and mugs, and just all sorts of goodies! There are samples out and I didn't try one bad thing except the cheddar fudge, but...well, you can't create hits all the time, and it did make me laugh! Prices are reasonable, employees are friendly, and while parking is only available along the street, we easily found a spot and you should be good except at the height of tourist season. Besides, this is a darling little downtown, so if you have to park far away no biggie - you can explore the other cute shops in the area. Overall, a visit to Bandon ought to include a stop at Cranberry Sweets. Treat yourself and grab some goodies as gifts, too!
