They will cook your crab for you.

Tony's is a must stop place if you're in Bandon. We enjoyed creamy clam chowder, a delish lobster roll with plenty of lobster in, steamer clams in a rich broth deserving of dipping their garlicky bread into, oysters on the half shell (they were a little too big and mushy for us and we have eaten a lot of oysters), and rockfish tacos. Unfortunately they were out of Dungeness crab, so that was a bummer, but it wasn't something under their control. You can also rent crabbing equipment and bait right from their store and harvest your own crabs from the dock just behind the restaurant. They'll even cook it for you for a very reasonable price. The staff were working hard and the service was prompt.

Loved our experience here and Brooklynn's Smile and attitude made it even better. Yummy crab sand-which, clam chowder , fish tacos and Sauv Blanc was awesome. This family is crushing it

Tacos were delicious. Shell was lightly fried and fish was fresh

Greeted right away by a friendly old guy with a great vibe. Super nice! Showed me the menus and specials and said the girl at the window can take my order when I'm ready. I opted for the fish tacos and boy they did not disappoint. Lightly fried tortilla and fresh fish with plenty of cabbage and onions and cilantro. I was a little worried about the TNT sauce on the side, but it was da bomb sauce! Order 2! I was stuffed but I got them down. Would absolutely recommend. While I was eating a few kids came in with their parents and the man who greeted me, bright or a crab and was giving the kids a lesson about crabs. They were so enthralled and I lived hearing their little voices asking questions. What an amazing local experience. Great job!!

My tacos were very good and my meal was even hand delivered with a song. Can't beat that service! I wanted to try the carb cakes but they don't have them due to a supply issue with the seasoning. I look forward to coming back again and hope that they will be on the menu next time.

Well... meh. Maybe I caught the early-season order-taker dude. He didn't know where my clams came from. They clams came on a paper plate, but at least it was a thick paper plate. The best part of my meal was the bread sopping up the garlic/ butter! It was not a bad place! But it was mediocre. My 1 pound of steam clams was only about 20 small bay clams. I wish it came with a scoop of coleslaw or even just a slice lemon.

I was told to try this spot and it was not a let down, I wish I had gone sooner. There is minimal seating indoor, it's a small shop but ample seating outdoors. If you do sit indoors just be aware, people will be lined up and standing right by you while you're eating! Doesn't bug me, but I know some people might not want that experience. The line was long but it moved quickly, food was out quickly as well both times. That lobster roll is elite, I wish there was more every time I finished. The bun is buttery and airy, the lobster is so rich and delicious. The only downside was the coleslaw, that was dry and not my favorite. I do prefer a wetter coleslaw so that may just be my preference. The oysters were so large and so tasty, the horseradish with them gives the best kick. I can't say enough good things about this spot. It's a bit pricey, but it's so totally worth it. If you're in the area crabbing they'll cook your crabs for you as well, so I thought that was a cool touch! Frankly I'm between 4 and 5. Not quite a 5. Nice cool local place since 1995. Feels very authentic. Some inside seating, ample tables outside. I ordered the Famous crab sandwich and upgraded my side dish to Clam chowder. Both were delicious!! Lots of clams in the chowda, lots of crab between perfectly buttery San Francisco style toast on the sandwich. My friend ordered fish tacos, which she loved. The gentleman who brought our food, and later cleared our plates (John I think) was very friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. If I'm ever in Bandon again, I would definitely come back!

Super good food and a fun authentic setting. Outdoor seating means bring a raincoat if it's overcast. We were there shortly before closing at 7pm so they were out of a few things on the menu. Note to self - eat an early dinner or late lunch. The line is always out the door anytime we've driven past. The food was excellent. We tried a little of everything, fish tacos, crab cakes, crab sandwich, and halibut. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The experience is worth it but the food makes it even better.

Stopped by on my Oregon / NorCal road trip and this was a food highlight. No frills, go in, order your food, and enjoy. I ate at the picnic tables outside, and was extremely happy even with the cold wind threatening to blow my hat off.

Tony's Crab Shack was one of the first spots that popped up when I searched for restaurants in Bandon, so we decided to give it a try. I came in craving a whole Dungeness crab, shell and all, because I really enjoy the rich crab butter (tomalley) inside the head. Unfortunately, they do not serve it that way here and the crab comes pre-split in half. I ordered the crab sandwich with clam chowder and three oysters while my husband got the halibut sandwich. The crab sandwich was just okay with not much flavor and not worth the $29 price tag. The oysters were also disappointing. The halibut sandwich, according to my husband, was excellent. The clam chowder was the star which was rich, creamy and delicious. They also have an outdoor seating area that is dog friendly, which was nice.

We went to Bandon for Mother's Day. My son wanted to stop by Tony's Crab Shack. We got a whole crab and a bunch of crab sandwiches. Definitely need to stop by if you're in Bandon! I poured butter onto my sandwich and loved it! The owner came over with a crab for the kids to see- so cool!

We were visiting from out of town and were on a mission to find some yummy crab. Thankfully Tony's Crab Shack delivered! We had our dogs with us and it was great that there was plenty of seating outdoors for all of us. We ordered from the friendly staff members inside, and our food was brought out to us very timely. We ordered the crab sandwich with clam chowder, and the crab cakes with coleslaw. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious - maybe the best crab sandwich and cakes we've ever had?! Great work!

In my experience, the best fish and chips comes from a small, family run joint next to the ocean…read morethat operates on a shoestring budget, and has lines that stretch down the block. There are notable exceptions like Barrel Mountain Brewing and Kells Irish Pub (look them up if you are in Oregon or Washington). Bandon Bait, true to its name, also sells bait and tackle, and the first time I drove past, it sported a line that ran the length of the building. I have reviewed fish and chips at many restaurants over the years, so I have a lot to compare these with. So, here goes. First, the breading has an herbal flavor, and is delicate without being self-unwrapping. It stays on, which is good. The fish is fresh, and cooked properly. I tend to favor battered fish, as opposed to breaded, though. Still, while it is not my favorite on the Oregon Coast, it has a lot going for it. I'm comparing these fish and chips to the results of a 30 year quest to find the best ones on the Oregon Coast, so not all of them are going to knock my socks off, but that doesn't mean that they are not excellent. They give a little dish of bay shrimp cocktail with each serving. That was nice. My wife had the prawns, and she liked them while remarking that the dill pickle in the cocktail sauce was strange, but seemed to be okay. The fries were shoestring, and got cold quickly in the prevailing gales that buffeted the outdoor tables. I have long hair, and it really wanted to join the clam chowder on the spoon, but that was the appetizer, and will be addressed soon. Back to the fries. They were okay. They had a seasoned salt of unknown origin on them that was pleasant. The chowder was above average. The portion was decent, and it wasn't too thin. It tasted nice, but had an unadventurous flavor. It's the kind you want when you have been disappointed by a previous chowder, and just need something familiar. It tastes good, but not ecstatically good. All in all, it was a serviceable meal. Don't let the mild criticisms lead you to think I was disappointed, or would not recommend stopping in. Just because something is not the best, it doesn't mean that it's not delicious.

When I asked for no feta cheese on my gyro she informed me that it was also in the tzatziki (I really appreciated the heads up) and she also clarified if this was a food allergy or preference (I appreciate her concern in the case that this was an allergy to dairy). She was also quick with bringing me ketchup and hot sauce and anything else I asked for. She really made both meals excellent :) The food was just as good as the service! My Traditional Breakfast really hit the spot! Thanks again to Kat for recommending the bacon. My gyro was a little plain, because I got mine without cheese and tzatziki. BUT the chicken was super flavorful and the veggies were fresh and crispy. I added a splash of lime juice and this was perfect for me. And I must say these are some of the BEST French fries I've ever had!! I'm not sure if they're considered double fried or beer battered (?) but it is definitely worth the $3 upgrade to get them! I only wish they would just put the dang bottle of ketchup on the table instead of bringing it to you in a small metal cup (which they did at both meals). Odd policy IMO; seems like it makes more work for the servers. But that is a very small complaint for an overall very great restaurant!

Whether you're watching the waves roll in or just soaking up the Oregon coast, it's one of those places where you find yourself lingering a little longer because the setting is just that beautiful. It was absolutely incredible. The sauce was rich and packed with flavor without overpowering the fresh crab, and the garlic toast made sure none of that delicious sauce went to waste. Lord Bennett's was still high in the ratings and since my wife and I almost always split our entrees, we went here. We don't mind a split fee in the $4-$5 range, especially when they do it for us, and many places then give you a little more of the side (in this case fresh veggies). Not only did they not charge a split fee, they split it for us. We started with a small Caesar Salad and a bowl of Clam Chowder. Both were excellent. We paired it all with a glass of King Estate Pinot Noir, one of our favorites (we're from Eugene, so we're biased). The main entree we split was the Pasta with Applewood House-Smoked Salmon. It was in a creamy white cheddar sauce with bow-tie pasta and was phenomenal. There is one other place we went that had a similar dish in Port Angeles. Fresh salmon and house-smoked is what does it, I think. Our server was attentive, but we were not rushed. She checked in periodically and never made us feel like they wanted us to just eat and go. The restaurant is also oriented to the Pacific Ocean and almost every table has an ocean view. Highly recommend. (One two-star review from a few months ago said they were "not impressed but if it were half the price it would have been good." We disagree). We felt the prices were VERY much in line with a nice dining experience, which this was. The salmon was $33, the small Caesar was $9, the Chowder was $8 and each glass of wine was $16.
