This is my dog Abbey who almost lost her life to bladder stones.
    Megan C.

It has taken me a long time to be able to write this review. I want to say before I tell my story, all the staff I worked with prior to this incident was very friendly and helpful. Up until this incident we had excellent service with this location. What I learned is it's a good place to take your pet for an annual exam or vaccine updates, but godforbid something other than that happens.... This happened between the time period of August - October 2020. Starting in August my husband and I noticed our 6 year old corgi mix was peeing MUCH more than normal. We made an appointment and they took a urine sample. It showed blood crystals, which they said indicated a UTI. A common one week dose of antibiotics was prescribed. She seemed to get better until we ran out of antibiotics. This time we noticed actual blood in her urine. Which is very alarming as a pet owner. We took her in again, another urine sample was taken, again blood crystals were found, and she was prescribed the same antibiotics for two weeks this time. This time around the antibiotics seemed to do nothing. She was peeing so often, and it was disturbing how much blood was in her pee. I was starting to get frantic. When I called for the third time and voiced my concerns they said they were busy but could get her in as a drop off. We dropped her off at 7:30 or 8:30 right before they opened. We did not hear back from them. I called at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm to get updates. It makes me cringe knowing my pup was in a cage all day in her condition. When I went to pick her up the vet said again blood crystals in her urine. We could do an X-ray which would cost hundreds of dollars or the cheaper route would to do a different type of test to see which bacteria was in her urine. He recommended starting there. So that's what I did. The next day things went downhill quick. She was peeing inside, which is not like her at all. Vomiting. Whining. She was in pain. I called in a panic asking for help. No one knew what to do and said the vet wasn't in. I was not offered an alternate solution other than wait until 3 days when the vet comes in. I knew something was very wrong, so I decided to take her to the emergency vet in Lynwood. THANK GOD I DID. It turns out she had 9 blaster stones, and one was clogging her urethra...hence why she couldn't pee. She had a kidney infection from her bladder being so full. And needed immediate surgery. The vet in Lynwood said the urine test showed the signs of bladder stones when she received the records (not sure if this is true or not, just what she said). However, what really upset me was the day after my pup had her surgery the vet from BF called me back. I told him what happened and he felt it was necessary to say "well we should've done those X-rays". In a cynical tone...it was very upsetting. I almost lost my best friend because of this. If it was caught in August it could have been addressed immediately. After10K and being prescribed medicated food for the rest of her life, she's okay. It's an expensive lesson to learn. I'm not trying to sway anyone's opinion. I just want to tell my story.

Winchester, who very happy he won't have to ever go back to Banfield Pet Hospital in Bothell again.

UPDATE: I waited until I was less upset to write this…read moreupdate. Time didn't really help, I'm still angry. Your response is insulting and only reinforces my concern about this practice. Instead of engaging with the substance of what I experienced, you've chosen to focus on technicalities and imply I'm mistaken or confused. Who the owner was is completely beside the point. I was a long-term client, and I know exactly who I was dealing with and the guidance I received. An employee told me the vet who assisted me was the owner. Attempting to discredit my experience over that detail feels evasive rather than accountable. Dismissing my account as "erroneous" without addressing the actual outcomes is troubling. I was given advice, that I later learned through a second opinion, was inappropriate and ridiculous... and in at least one case, dangerously wrong. That is not a misunderstanding; that is a failure in the care Inglemoor provided. Yes, I have the correct location. Anything incorrect I said was because it was information given to me by your employees. You state that you don't "insist" on treatments, yet the pressure I experienced happened. You claim not to offer or promote certain therapies, yet they were explicitly presented to me. You describe medications as readily available and inexpensive, yet I repeatedly struggled to obtain them and saw poor results while being told the condition was effectively "untreated." These are not abstract complaints, these are my experiences. Rather than acknowledging that I may have had a genuinely poor and even harmful experience, your response suggests I must be wrong. That lack of reflection is exactly why I will continue to compel others to seek care elsewhere. I did not write my review lightly. I wrote it after losing my cat under circumstances that, according to another veterinarian, involved missed or incorrect diagnoses, and after seeing a clear improvement in care with my surviving cat once I left your practice. If you truly take negative feedback seriously, then start by considering that not every uncomfortable review is "erroneous." Do better. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I caution everyone against considering Inglemoor Animal Hospital. My cats suffered needlessly and I strongly feel I was misled and pressured into unnecessary, inappropriate treatments and costs. Not everyone can afford a 2nd opinion but I'm glad I could. While some vets at Inglemoor were kind and well-meaning over the years... the owner, who was my primary vet, gave advice that was not only unhelpful but may have caused serious harm to my cats. She pushed pseudoscientific treatments like acupuncture, misdiagnosed dental issues (recommending unnecessary surgery), and dismissed the need for special kidney diet food for my elderly cat who did in fact have kidney disease, (which was later confirmed by another vet.) They insisted on radioactive iodine treatment for my elderly cat's hyperthyroidism. But due to the cat's advanced age, I went with the less invasive option of medicating daily. Getting it was a pain (at times it was out of stock,) the expensive medication did not control the issue as expected. After many months, I was told her condition was being documented as untreated. That statement made me furious, and finally decide to go elsewhere for care. I got a second opinion from a far more competent veterinarian who corrected these misdiagnoses and actually demonstrated the reasoning behind their care plan. I'm deeply frustrated I had to go elsewhere to get proper help. The cat with hyperthyroidism passed away from extensive undiagnosed cancer shortly after their first exam with the new vet. It was too late for them to help. My surviving cat is having a much better time under the care of a different vet.

Sadly, our recent experience surrounding the care of our beloved dog left us deeply disappointed. After his passing, we reached out to discuss our concerns and to request a partial refund for services that had been provided. We understood that the clinic might not agree with our request, but we had hoped for a more compassionate and understanding response given our long history as clients and the difficult circumstances our family was facing. Instead, we left the conversation feeling dismissed and unsupported during an incredibly painful time. Losing a pet is heartbreaking. What has made this experience even more difficult is feeling unheard by a clinic we trusted for over two decades. We hope our feedback encourages reflection and a greater commitment to compassionate communication and client care in the future.

Subject: Formal Complaint and Medical Records Request - Poppy…read more I have made multiple attempts to reach the clinic and requested contact from management without response. I am submitting a formal complaint regarding concerns about Poppy's handling and the carrier used after arrival. I brought her in secured in a box where she could not climb. She was transferred into a carrier provided by the clinic, and I am concerned this contributed to worsening injury and eventual complete loss of her upper beak. Also in the middle of an emergency the velvet tech tried to sell us on behavioral services multiple times. 1. It was not the appropriate time for this at all, period. 2. The vet tech has no idea how I house or care for my birds. A lot of incorrect and inappropriate assumptions were made, that wasted precious time. 3. I wasn't given any discharge information. They went over how to draw up her meds, but not what to do about the metal cast just placed on my birds beak. I was told on my second visit when her beak fell off completely that they were really busy. What occurred with my bird was wrong on so many levels. I have filed a complaint at the clinic, called all day today and asked for a call back and was told the managers were in meetings and would get back with me today. It's now 6pm and I've not heard from them. I am requesting a response from the Practice Manager or Medical Director and a copy of all medical records, including exam notes, technician notes, radiographs, and discharge documentation.

My experience has been the opposite of the one-star reviews here. I had been going to another vet…read morein Bothell and really liked them. I started going here to board my dogs, and after several years of going between one vet that I really liked, to Canyon Park, I finally committed to this one so their shots could coincide with their boarding. The first time I came, I read the reviews and braced myself for an unpleasant encounter. Dr. Vaughn's first visit with my dog lasted 25 minutes, much longer than the 15 minute exam my other vet took (who I still like a lot.) . Dr. Vaughn took her time examining my dog, explained everything in detail, answered all my questions, and gave me advice on the breed and my own dog. She was pleasant to me and gentle with my dog. With her extreme knowledge and detailed answers to my questions, I felt like I was going to a specialist but paying for a regular vet exam. My second experience was when I thought my dog was choking. (turns out she had a reverse sneeze, but I'd never heard of it before. ) I rushed her to Canyon park without an appointment. Because they are so concerned about kennel cough, they told me to wait outside. The doctor came out within 10 minutes in full scrubs (in case it was kennel cough, to protect other dogs. Because I had poked my head in to let them know I was here, the staff disinfected the entire front room, including the door, just in case.) Dr. Vaughn came out, examined her thoroughly, and said she appeared fine, then educated me about kennel cough sounds. She was right in her diagnosis. The price for the emergency visit? No charge. When we moved to Woodinville, I went to another vet for convenience. They upsold me on several things for three of my dogs. But the 4th one, they found a very dangerous mass cell tumor that needed to removed asap, and that they could schedule me for 6 weeks out. I called Canyon Park the next morning, and they fit me in as an emergency visit that day. Dr. Vaughn confirmed the diagnosis and though the place is extremely busy, they scheduled her for surgery within 3 days. Eight months post Covid, my other vet was still requiring that the owners stay outside and the exam be conducted by the doctor only. The information I got when the doctor came out? "She's fine." I then took my other dog for an exam with Dr. Vaughn. I was let into the room, and again, given 25 minutes for a detailed exam of my dog and a detailed explanation of the results. That was when I finally stopped with the other vet for good. I know...it took a while. The most recent visit I took my dog for a regular exam, and told her that my 10-year-old dog was slowing down significantly, that she couldn't get upstairs and was slowing down on walks. I expected her to say that this was expected for her age. Instead she examined her and found a back injury. She suggested immediate bed rest (keep in kennel for 3-5 days, restricted movement) and gave me steroids and muscle relaxers. She recommended delaying her expensive teeth cleaning coming up. Instead of trying to upsell me on xrays or an mri, she highly recommended this strategy, saying she'd seen miraculous results. We're in the midst of that right now, and my dog is so much better that she's desperate to get out of that kennel. (she has another two days to go, poor thing.) They have never tried to upsell me, as other vets have. For boarding, it's the cheapest around. They don't get to run like other places with runs. They are walked briefly twice a day with other dogs of their size, and except at night, hang out with other dogs in the open room. It's nothing special but it is a safe place for them to be. If you have a high energy dog, I'd recommend a place with a bigger area for them to run. They know all four of my dogs well and have been gentle with them. Once during boarding my greyhound's eye was injured on a walk while boarding (probably on a tall blade of grass, they think.) Because it was a vet's office, they treated him, gave him antibiotics, and constantly monitored him. Beyond the free treatment (obviously) they notified me they were waiving the entire boarding visit of three weeks -- at least $900. During covid when tons of people got dogs, it was very hard to get in to many vets, including this one. At that time, it was very difficult to get through to them by phone. They have since hired more front desk staff, and fixed the phones to accommodate the high volume of calls they get every day. They have hired new staff, and they are friendly and greet you. I do recall in the past, having to wait to be acknowledged. That is no longer the case. Forgot to say that they save some openings for emergency visits. So if you have an emergency, call right when they open and they can probably fit you in.
