I don't even want to bother typing out the long winded details of how awful everything is. In addition, the front desk staff said they would cancel my wellness plan to not auto renew at the last terrible experience there, which I expressed my immense dissatisfaction right then in person asked for it not to auto renew. I check back to my account - He did not do that. SO I clicked for it to not auto renew on my online account. I called the vet a few days later to confirm this and they said on their end it will still auto renew and that I can ONLY call a specific number to cancel. I call the number,. While they have their good aspects, we would definitely not recommend Banfield, at least not anymore! The Good: Every veterinarian we've had there has been very kind, and several were particularly caring and attentive. No shade to the vets themselves, they're why we stuck with this location so long. The Bad: Disorganized, hard to get your pet's records, sometimes chart notes aren't written down or checked. Front desk has gone downhill in recent years; some interactions were just bizarre. If you ask about a medication prescribed there in the past they might not be able to find their record of it. Upwards of 80% of our visits had something miscommunicated between front desk and vet, either forgetting to give us a medication or mistakes in communicating the symptoms we reported. That alone makes you nervous when your pet is in their care. If you log in on the app, you can find your pet's lab results but not the narrative chart notes. They don't always seem to check chart notes so you have to keep re-explaining things. The Ugly: Banfield as a chain has had a few class action lawsuits in years past; I'd recommend looking it up. Their Optimum Wellness Plan is scammy - do NOT sign up for it! These are some of the scuzzy aspects of it: -They act like every bit of care your pet gets from them is now at a "discount" since you have the OWP. So if you try to cancel at any time, they look back through the year and say, well if you're cancelling we will retroactively remove the discount on all care your pet already got, and you have to pay for the whole past year's visits at the higher rate. So it's like $300-400 to cancel the plan. (So let's say you're paying like $50 a month for the plan from Jan thru August, plus you had two $300 visits in that time. In Sept, you want to cancel the plan. So they say, ok, those two visits that were $300 at the time are now retroactively $500 each. So you owe us the $400 to make up the difference, or else you can't cancel. The $50 a month you were paying doesn't count for anything.) -Because of this incentive, they put your pet down for their checkup visit as often as possible, even if you didn't ask for it, or consent to it. (That way if you cancel, you've received more expensive care and they can charge more for it.) So even if you took your cat in for, say, an itchy ear, they will run the full checkup labs without asking you. -Let's say you have the OWP plus dental (more expensive than the plain OWP). But then your cat loses all her teeth, so you reduce your tier of OWP to the lower priced level (since you don't need dental anymore, obviously). Well, when your plan auto-renews, they will auto-renew it at the highest tier you've ever had, NOT at the level you're at when it renews! That's not even a mistake, it's their policy. So if you remove the dental plan, it will start right back up at renewal time and they will charge you the higher price for it. I guess they're hoping you won't notice. Finally, ever since 2020 they have tried to prevent owners coming in with their pets. For years (until 2022!) they claimed this was because of COVID, even though everyone was already vaccinated. Now they're admitting it's so they can see more pets per day. Which, while a fine motive on the surface, is not what's best for your animal. If your pet needs a 15 minute consult to check out its paw, now instead of arriving at 10:00, being seen, and leaving at 10:15, they will make you drop off your pet at, say, 7am, and then do that 15 minute visit (without you there, which is how they run the labs you didn't consent to for the checkup you didn't consent to) many hours later, then call you to pick up your pet before closing. This isn't just stressful for pets, it can be dangerous. Some cats are too nervous to use the litter when they're in a kennel at the vet, and if male cats hold their urine too long, they can obstruct, which is a life-threatening emergency. So having to drop them off and leave them stressed and confused for 5-6 hours instead of letting the owner come in at the appointment time for a 15 minute visit is not an acceptable policy. We switched to a vet practice which isn't associated with PetSmart, a chain responsible for a lot of animal cruelty. It cost us hundreds of dollars to extract ourselves from this financially predatory scheme. I want to reiterate that I think all the veterinarians working there are kind and attentive people. But we don't feel safe taking our boy here anymore. read more

Please do not take your pet here. Please do not opt into their Wellness Plan. I purchased the Wellness Plan for my cat of April of 2022, and have not been able to bring him in. I brought him in with a quote of $260, I ended up being FURIOUS with the upcharges, so I took him home. I tried to cancel my plan AND I OWE $871???? FOR WHAT??? I also had just changed my second cat to Banfield, and the doctor on staff did not complete my cat's seizure medication, and he was unable to take his medication that night, resulting in a seizure. The next day I went in and had them fill in the missing part, but SURPRISE CVS told me it STILL wasn't filled out correctly. How am I supposed to trust a doctor that doesn't know how to fill out a prescription, and the doctor had a shockingly calm attitude about my cat not being able to take his brain meds for over a day, which neurologists strongly say you should not due, as it can cause a build up in their brain. Banfield is painfully sketchy. They won't let me cancel my plan, yet they won't see my cat without some "random" snafu happening. Broken drill? Misquote? Oops we lost your dental X-Rays and now we need to do new ones for $370? No thanks. Banfield can get f*cked. read more

Do not sign up for the optimum wellness plan for a year they don't explain that you will be billed continuously past your one year subscription from a puppy plan to who knows what plan after that! That is a scam business tactic in my book they say the text email mail you when your plans expiring I got nothing they continued to bill me I wan under the impression it was a one year deal and then you re up to a different plan if you choose especially going from puppy plans to adult plans with two different ones to choose from not cool at all! They will then proceed to tell you it's in the fine print when you call upset that they are billing you after the year of services you agreed to for that year only . It included spay neuter unlimited visits and discounts on some procedures NOT ALL and medications not worth it I'm pissed sent out a bbb compliant disputing with bank as I thought this was canceled after a year and didn't used it at all going into the second year that they suck you into another contract on top of it. Not good business at all! Sign up for a years plan split into payments you pay those it should just cut off and be offered to continue with another plan of your choosing and that's with them as a company reaching out via email phone call text mailer that would be the proper way to do this. I've been going to Banfield because it's close by, and in general, I appreciate the work of the ladies and female doctors there. They are nice, caring and hard-working. However, there's something I've noticed about some of the younger guys - they can come off as a tad judgmental and rude. Once, when I was trying to schedule an appointment for my pet, a young guy assumed I was booking unnecessary post-surgery follow-ups. He questioned me when was my last visit and asked me not to make an appointment again with an angry-parents-scolding-a-kid tone since I had been there a week before. He misunderstood the situation, so I told him my pet needed to see a doctor for a different issue, not for a follow-up this time. Oddly, even after he realized his misunderstanding, there wasn't an apology for his rude attitude. I have experienced similar things several times there before. It feels like they might be going for minimal service. For example, there's a doctor who seems a bit rushed during appointments. He wrapped up my slot by saying everything was good and to handle any issues on the next visit. I wasn't even informed about what he checked on my pet in the backroom. I sensed he wanted to wrap up the talk and want me to go home, making it feel awkward to ask questions at the reception. I hope it's helpful in some way. read more

I really don't need to take my dog in for them to tell me she is healthy. in two years I have had two vaccine appts would have cost me 100 but really cost me 1200.00 . They lied to me about her teeth cleaning which said would be covered on the program but not true I have to keep paying the 50.00 a month until the teeth cleaning is paid off. and when you ask Banfield about they"re insurance you find out its another company that you have to deal with. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!! THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY WITHOUT EVEN HELPING YOUR PET!!!! I would like to start off with how much my poor Rottweiler was and still is in discomfort with his ears as he had a yeast infection according to Dr. High. When I arrived they were very friendly and of course very expensive; ~$150+ for his ear test to verify what was the problem and ear medication. When I first received the medication I searched online to gather information on this medication and pricing were very much cheaper than for what a paid for here at Banfield. (Prices were almost double - I would have bought this but you need a prescription which would be much of a hassle and should be able to give customers a more affordable price. This was NOT the main issue as I was okay with the pricing as long if it works of course, but this wasn't the case! I followed the instructions and it seemed like it was working as he had stopped shaking his head but as soon I was advised to stop medication and also ran out his ears started to bother him again. So in my mind I would just call Banfield for a possible stronger medication or a refill. When I called they said they need to reschedule an appointment redo everything they already done plus the medication!!! This pricing would be averaging ~$250 AGAIN!!! (The first time i had a free consultation since he is a new patient here at Banfield) This is unfair and I will never return to this location or any other Banfield in the future!!!! The primary reason for this review is the banfield wellness plan, so take that into consideration. I used banfield for a few years after moving to Seattle with my senior dog. I have had other vets in the past that I preferred more but found banfield to be a serviceable option and pretty convenient to my apartment. At the time of her passing, I had some gripes about whether banfield could've done more to help identify the issues sooner and extend my dogs life, but as I mentioned, she was a senior dog and I had to take that into consideration. However, as a member of the "wellness plan" what was most shocking to me about the service at banfield was that they continued to charge me on the plan even after my dog passed. Assuming this was a clerical error, I called them up but found out that it was in fact intentional and I would be billed another 4 months until the term of the plan ran up. Maybe something I should've seen in the fine print, but felt pretty cold and inconsiderate to hold me on a plan paying $50 a month for a dog that has passed away. Wouldn't return here again, and certainly wouldn't recommend that plan to any current customers. I would add that this seems to be a corporate policy, so not this branch specifically but rather a general banfield complaint. read more

If you were thinking of taking your pet here, definitely think long and hard about that decision. We took our cat (who had been to a few appointments at the Carkeek location) in after we noticed she had begun to use the litterbox frequently. We had her examined and provided a urinalysis sample to be sent for evaluation. Rating 1 star because the doctor who called me to discuss the urinalysis results not only spoke extremely fast but listening to him was very confusing and provided no clarity on what we could do for our cat. They wanted to continue more costly testing and even redo the urinalysis to confirm the results were accurate. I politely asked the doctor for an email (which I still have yet to receive) summarizing the conversation and the results of the tests along with treatment options. I have had to call them back multiple times to get information, when it should really be the other way around. I have had nothing bad to say about the Carkeek location but our visit to QA exposed Banfield for what they are, a corporate vet clinic. They are more concerned about soaking you for what they can by poorly explaining test results and pushing you to authorize more tests. I realize now that you get what you pay for in terms of care and communication, and QA has certainly fallen short in both of those areas. The fact that I have had to initiate contact multiple times with them to ask for communication should tell you exactly the kind of experience you're in for if you choose to bring your pet here. It continues. At our last visit I clarified twice the total costs, and future costs for vaccines. I was told both times by the receptionist that I had already paid for them and was good to go. Shockingly (sarcasm), she was wrong.. I go in today for boosters and am hit with a $123 charge when I'm expecting none because I was told harshly at our last visit that it was already paid for. This was no misunderstanding- I ask specifically what our second visit would cost and was told both times that it was already paid the day of our first visit. This is actually the ONLY reason we returned here and had not gone elsewhere- because it was already purchased and I didn't want to have to repurchase at a new clinic. I wanted to wrap up needed shots with what I was told I had already paid for and then be done with this place. While the tech we were paired with this time was much better and could treat my dog with the decency and dignity he deserves, the administrative support continues to lower the bar. A charge of $123 is massive when you are expecting none and made prior attempts to adequately prepare for cost. Absolutely incompetent clinic that endangered and mistreated my pet, and completely mislead me in the financial aspect. Astoundingly disappointing. read more

I dealt with it because I don't have a car and it's close to home but now I will gladly pay for a uber to go anywhere else. 1. During annual exam they repeatedly ask me to join the dog health care plan. I said no.. six times. The vet repeatedly ask and I finally had to get firm and say... no, for the seventh time are you going to ask me anything about my dog. 2. I gave them my dogs records when I scheduled the appointment. When I arrived at the appointment, they couldn't find them. Luckily, I had them on my phone. 3. ZERO STARS. ZERO. I dropped off my dog Saturday morning and got rudely scolded by the front desk lady J** for being late (i apologized). That's gold considering they've made me wait outside with my dog in the cold rain for multiple appointments and I never got a "sorry for making you wait in the cold rain".Like I said, I thought this was a drop off because that was what was texted to me, but was told that I have to wait 30 minutes because it was an appointment instead. The vet acted like it was my fault for not knowing it was an appointment when they were the ones who sent me a text saying it was a drop off. Well I had been waiting in my car for over an hour.... So i called and they told me that I have to pick my dog up in the afternoon. Get you f*cking sh*t together. You guys have some audacity giving me a lecture on being late when you're out here disrespecting my time. I used to like this place when I first came in 2018. They were super helpful and I even put my dog on their wellness plan. Well come to find out a couple years later, my charges on my wellness plan increased with no warning. I pay $65 a month for my healthy low maintenance dog for this place to do the absolute minimum and this is what i get?? It's honestly laughable. I'm leaving Banfield and you should too. My dog has been a patient of Dr. Anna Uhl, DVM at this location since 7/16/2018 under a wellness plan. On August 27, 2018 my dog received her first shot of the Lyme vaccine, which was later proven ineffective and recalled. Her injection site was sore, but she was fine. In December 2018, I received notice of this recall. I returned my dog in order for her to receive a new round of the vaccine. On January 9th, 2019 she returned for her booster shot, which is where our hell with Banfield began. The evening after the final shot, she woke us up in the night at 3am on the 10th with a horrendous yelp. Naturally, I assumed that she was sore from the shot administration and returned to bed and hoped for improvement. The next day on the 11th of January, 2019 she showed no interest whatsoever in her food. She acted weak, lethargic, and pained. She had difficulty returning to her feet post-urination. I returned her to Banfield Friday January 11th, 2019. Dr. Man-Sum Yau, DVM offered Meloxicam for pain and lethargy and listed her musculoskeletal and general neurological as "normal." They said Dr. Anna Uhl was not in that day and that if her symptoms do not improve they could do more diagnostic work when Dr. Anna Uhl returns. $54.85 for the medication. I returned her to Banfield Monday January 13th, 2019 and was seen by Dr. Anna Uhl. After assuming I had rolled on her while I was sleeping and trying to find other cause in anything that wasn't the shot, I was told that her symptoms would not likely be a side-effect of the vaccine or it's administration. They offered to do X-Rays and bloodwork, which was covered in her monthly wellness plan. However, like the medication, I would have to pay extra to have the images viewed by a radiologist --a fact not disclosed at the plan enrollment. Yet, I agreed to this. The visit ended up costing $259.81. Upon viewing the X-rays with Dr. Anna Uhl after having them analyzed by a radiologist, I was told that everything looks fine, but the space in between her disks looked narrow. I was also told that the cause for her yelping and malaise episode could be IVDD. However, in the same breath, she also told me that IVDD cannot be diagnosed via X-Ray. IVDD can only be diagnosed via MRI. In addition, certain breeds, such as pugs and beagles -my dog's parents- are often born with narrower spaces between their spinal disks, which is generally of no medical concern. The resulting impact of Dr. Anna Uhl's irresponsible diagnosis--given to us without the proper diagnostic tests performed or any empirical evidence--caused us great emotional distress. The following days and hours after the visit Sunday night were spent in complete emotional devastation. I had to miss work because the potential loss of my dog was so heartbreaking I could not perform my duties. The shadowy depths of a Google black hole sucked us in. In the search results, I was greeted by images of dogs in wheelchairs, videos of paralyzed puggles, and anecdotes about dogs who needed to be put down because their owners could not afford the several-thousand-dollars-worth of surgeries. This was emotional abuse brought on by Dr. Anna Uhl. Dr. Anna Uhl of Banfield Pet Hospital in Queen Anne put this arbitrary diagnosis of IVDD down in her medical record as a possible cause for her symptoms without offering a differential diagnosis. The level of certainty to that was conveyed regarding the diagnosis of IVDD by the self-admittedly junior veterinarian was stubborn at best, and boastfully prideful at worst. The following day on January 14th, 2019 I returned to Banfield to have a conversation with Dr. Anna Uhl about the ethics of her diagnosis. As soon as I mentioned looking into pet insurance to the doctor, I was told that this was now a pre-existing condition which would no longer be covered by most all insurance. When I argued this unethical practice of creating an arbitrary diagnosis to deny insurance coverage, she accused me of attempting to commit fraud. Purely disgusting --an absolutely deplorable accusation-- and completely unprofessional. Shame on Dr. Anna Uhl! The most ethically dubious part of this whole ordeal is that Banfield is telling us that our dog now has a pre-existing condition, which has not even been diagnosed! She is now unable to be insured against the possibility of this potentially crippling disease appearing in the future, despite the fact that the MRI--which, I reiterate, IS necessary for a proper diagnosis--was never performed! Yet, with astounding certainty, Dr. Anna Uhl believes it is IVDD. After receiving two conflicting second opinions supporting my case, I have filed formal complaints with Banfield Corporate, BBB, and the WA DOH Veterinary Board of Governors. Banfield responded saying they cannot fix the errors Dr. Anna Uhl made. Medical records are "set in stone." FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!! I called today (Sunday) at about 3:30 pm to schedule a surgery appointment for my cat per the vet (who is wonderful and also works at another Banfield clinic location) and asked that I call this Queen Anne facility. The woman tech who answered the phone was rude and unprofessional and claimed that the facility had absolutely NO available appointments now or in the future. Absolutely NONE - after stating this, she gave no alternative options. Just silence. She sounded peeved to answer basic questions about appointment availability and had a really bad attitude. It was evident she didn't want to work and/or didn't care about working at Banfield. Not sure why this individual is hired to answer phones as it's apparent she has no people skills or desire to work and gets off on being as rude as possible with customers. Banfield of Queen Ann - please be aware of the bad and unprofessional service to callers. It's a disservice to the good vet doctors you have working there and to the Banfield name. read more

We love Banfield, they're so helpful and have been great with our new pup through his youth, neutering, and beyond. Their wellness plan is great, especially when you have a puppy and need shots every month or just want to take in your dog for a quick question or look at...it's saved us hundreds overall. If you can't afford or don't want a preventative plan for your dog, you probably shouldn't have a dog in the first place. The staff is friendly, and the recognize our dog right away - we've even ran into them in the neighborhood and they're equally as nice out of work. One of the staff even stayed with our dog, all day, after his neutering to make sure he wouldn't fear and hate their office - that's the kind of service we've experienced there. 5 stars for sure! read more

GOOD LORD DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. I brought my lovely puppy here because of their payment plans. The first visit, I complained of a rash on his foot and excessive itching. They told me his foot was fine, and the itching was likely caused by a yeast infection in his years. I specifically asked about allergies, to which they replied 'eh, puppies don't get allergies.' The second time I brought my pup here, I mentioned the foot AGAIN. They said it would be a quick in and out (he was only there for vaccines,) and I waited OUTSIDE (COVID didn't allow me to go inside, but I would have gone home should I knew it would be so long) for 3 hours. They told me that it would be $300, because they were testing for a bunch of different infections and he needed a cone, special shampoo, etc. After getting home, I discovered another rashy/scab patch on his back that they hadn't caught (I'm talking pool ball sized circle of rash, not a small little bump.) I waited 5 days to hear the results of his testing, and they never called. I called them, just to be told 'oh, yeah we told you the results but I guess we will tell you again (they hadn't, I assure you). After 10 days of using shampoo as directed, his foot STILL wasn't better. After bringing him to a different vet, we were told that what they prescribed is basically just antibacterial, like hand soap, so it wouldn't have fought any fungal or other skin infections. Lastly, they NEVER communicate with each other. Every appointment I've had, I've explained my concerns over the phone, proactively submitted a DETAILED appointment form via email to highlight every concern I have and sent him in with a printed copy of the same form. Every time I drop him off, the nurse asks why I am bringing him in. Then, whenever the doctor gets to him, he calls and asks AGAIN what concerns I have. read more

I signed up for the first free pet exam because I knew my dog had an ear infection and was hoping to get that checked along with his other general health. The appointment with my vet took a total of 10 minutes, it involves a quick 5 minute pat down and a few questions, checked my dogs weight and the vet left. Then they charged me $80 for the same prescription that I could find elsewhere at 1/4th the cost online. Then they kept pushing their wellness plan on me. The vet was cold and showed no care or interest in really checking up my dog. I went home later to see a red rash under his belly in which the vet never even noticed. worst experience ever had. I was trying to sign my pet up for their wellness plan. I did everything online, got an email saying that I need a vet check to finalize the plan. I made the appointment, and later on got a phone call from Dr. Wu saying that I don't actually need to bring my dog in for the check, then she cancelled the appointment and gave me a number to call. I called the number, waited for 30 mins for them to told me I actually do need the check up in order to proceed. I had to call the vet clinic again, waited, and they are still saying I don't need the checkup. It feel like the receptionist just can't wait to turn away a potential customer. We have been to this Banfield about 4 or 5 times now. Every single time, even when we have a scheduled appointment we are asked to wait 15-20 minutes. We always arrive early or on time but we are never seen on time. The staff is hit or miss as to how helpful/friendly they are. We've experienced one doctor who was patient and kind and another who was poor in relating to humans. They are over priced and we will not be returning. read more

While I like the staff, the hours, and the convenience, I'm really not into the constant pressure to add a plan, do this, but that. I am specifically writing about the Queen Anne location and Dr. Yun Yew Yung. I took my 12 year old dog here for some skin issues mostly because it is close to home and I was able to get in within 48 hours. Scheduling online was easy. Communication was easy (i.e. - someone picked up the phone every time I have called). I had not looked at any reviews prior to taking my dog there. AFTER taking him, I did look as I'm looking into purchasing one of their Wellness Plans. I was really surprised to see so many single stars. From the ease of scheduling, to the quick and friendly response, to my interactions with the vet (via phone), Dr. Yun Yew Yong and the VT (in person), Tim, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about these people and this establishment. Because of covid protocols, I was not allowed to go back into the appointment room but I can say the entryway was very clean. Dr. Yong spent at least 20 minutes on the phone with me going over Eddie's health and answering any questions that I had quite thoroughly. When I picked Eddie up, he seemed calm and happy and in no rush to get out of there. I will keep going here and if my rating or experience changes, I'll be sure to update my review! read more

I am so beyond satisfied with the care that I have received at this location! My dog suffered from a dog bite that turned into a pretty bad infection. She was only 6 weeks old at the time and it was so scary watching her go through this. We had almost daily appointments to deal with issues for about a week. The staff was so kind (even when I had moments where I was not) and worked with me to not only manage Peppers wounds but to also avoid any unnecessary procedures due to her young age. I have the puppy wellness plan and its more than paid for itself. i love being able to take her in whenever I have a concern without worrying about a charge. All of her preventative is covered as well as her spaying (note that this is not insurance! but a great addition to have) and it even includes "Vet Chat" which is an online service that lets you chat and send photos and videos to a vet as needed. The communications end up going to your vet at Banfield which I didn't realize until Dr. Wu called me one day to follow up on a Vet Chat discussion I had had. So thoughtful! Every time I drop Pepper off the team welcomes her with smiles and lets me know they are so happy to see her and when I pick her up it seems like they don't want to let her go. I booked appointments for my cats and was having a hard time getting them in at the same time with the online system. I reached out to the hospital and was also having really hard time with Callie, her poor customer service skills and sour attitude. I was able to reach out to the manager and get things figured out but, I was shown that unprofessionalism and poor customer service is not exclusive to this one employee. Amanda(the manager) was able to get both my cats booked back-to-back on Sunday, September 19th at 4pm and 4:30. On September 8th, I got a voicemail that offered other times the were available and I didn't reply because it sounded optional. On September 18th, I got a confirmation voicemail for my appointment. On September 19th, the same day of my appointment, I got a call at 11:30 asking if I could bring my cats in at 1pm because my 4pm appointment was no longer available. I live an hour away, I wasn't home and my car was being serviced at the time. The only other option offered to me was September 30th even though I explained that I was concerned about one of my cats. I was told my appointment was no longer available because there was a euthanasia happening at the same time and no one would be available. I was told that they left a voicemail on the 8th to move my appointment but, didn't want to say that my 4pm was no longer available in the message they left on the 8th. I don't want to be insensitive but, if my appointment had to be moved for ANY reason that needs to be said ahead of time and more should have been done to get my cats in sooner. The person who I spoke to said she wasn't suppose to tell me why but, it was because everyone had to be there for the euthanasia. I did reach out to the banfield cares team and all that happened was Amanda called me back and explained your appointment can be canceled anytime because end of life services take priority over everyone else. My cat's weight loss was not a concern to them. read more

This place is terrible. I think the vets and staff are trained as part of Banfield's business model to upsell everything possible. If I went in just to get a rabies shot for the dog, then all of a sudden he needs tests for a whole bunch of other made up ailments that he does not have. They always tried to squeeze me dry and guilt trip me into buying extra services and tests for my dog. Do yourself a favor and go to Mercer Street Vet Clinic instead. They have a more holistic approach to vet care and they don't try to do a bunch of unnecessary tests just to get more money out of you. read more

My dog was originally seen at the Banfield in Capitol Hill but earlier this year, he needed an urgent surgery to remove bladder stones and Capitol Hill was booked up. The Queen Anne location had availability, so we went there for his surgery and follow up, and have continued to go there because the staff is very nice and it's much less busy than the Capitol Hill location. Dr. Yau is very good with my nervous old dog and we've had nothing but good experiences here. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABY HERE!!! They stuck our kitty twice with needles instead of once as required, for no reason. Also, our kitty had liquid poop all over her when she was returned to us. They didn't even try to clean her up at all! She has been throwing up ever since she returned home, and I'll be sure to the Pet ER if it continues. I won't be sleeping tonight to make sure she's okay. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!! read more

I would rate zero stars if it was possible. Do Not take your pet here if you want input on your pet's healthcare. They forced shots on my dog without my consent. I am not a believer in giving every vaccine known to man just because a commission incentivized vet says so. I understand the need to take precautions during this pandemic BUT they should have called me before subjecting my puppy to their potentially lethal cocktail. They lost my trust after that....then they say my puppy has ear mites just like the person I overheard being checked out before me. He has had no symptoms and I was not offered any holistic method for treatment. They were reluctant to return my dog to me when I refused to pay for things I didn't authorize. They brought him to me only after I threatened to call 911. This place is a disaster and should be avoided at all cost....on a separate note; I found plenty of holistic solutions for ear mite treatment...olive oil and green tea. If he had them he's still never shown any symptoms. read more

Called several vets this morning after a stressful morning of every vet being too full to see my dog for a cytopoint injection. The gentleman on the phone when I called Banfield was so nice and helpful he called me back within the hour to say that they could squeeze me in. I had someone from my own vet be very rude to me over the phone. I know working in the veterinary field is very stressful, I just wanted to say I highly appreciated your excellent customer service on a rough day! read more
