It's the rudeness! If I ask about a cost Im treated like someone off the street! Found a more loving Vet for my baby!

Recently switched vets after getting out of my contract here. I had to not have a negative balance to leave my contract. To be fair I have two rescue pets a cat and a dog. If I had pets that liked the vet everything probably would be ok. TBH I believe they over medicated my pets. My dog for instance they wanted me to give a drowsy Med for her and there she would be given a shot to make her sleepy. My cat was always medicated. It was time for my cats shot so I went to another vet and they gave my cat an exam shot and everything and my cat was just fine w/o anything to calm her. I will bring my dog there in June and don't anticipate any problems for her on that front either. read more

Banfield is a bad place to take your fur babies to .I wish I hadn't taken my two babies there .When I got there I made two veterinary appointments for both of my fur babies.And the woman told me that they only can see one not both of them and I was pissed off .And they weigh one of my fur baby not the other one until I said are you going to take her weight to so the woman got mad and took my baby and weight her but they didn't see my Boston Terrier they only seen my Chihuahua the doctor saw her and examining her and told that she had a mass on her paw and it will cost me $1,000 .And I had to pay them $64.00 in which they did nothing I wanted both of my fur babies to have their nails cut and there glands cleaned out .They didn't get any of those things done to them .. I was so upset I will not come back to that horrible place anymore.The woman behind the counter was so rude the one took my card and threw it back at me with the yellow scrubs how rude of her .I will not come back ever again.That $64.00 that they charge me I want my money back. Love the staff, they always take such great Care of my pets! The doctors are very friendly and answer all of my questions.

Compared to other vets here in Waco, Banfield is much more courteous, professional, and transparent. Banfield got me in today for my dog's ear infection despite my not having an appointment; and made a point of explaining to me all of my options when it came to treatment. They were fully transparent with prices, a quality that I very much appreciate. read more

Absolutely the most amazing experience. These people care. They are attentive and they want to help. We rushed from another vet in town who wanted to euthanize our kittens to Banfield. There was a team waiting for us at the door when we got there. Kittens were saved, everyone was professional and courteous and just so dang nice. I took my dog to the Waco location several times. They were more interested in running unnecessary tests and never diagnosed the problem. Around the 6th visit they finally figured out my wonderful dog had a fungal infection. Soon after we had to put her to sleep. They were going to do the procedure on the floor. I had to ask them to use the table. To add to our grief we have a health maintenance plan which costs 27 dollars a month. I have since tried to cancel but Banfield has refused. They have said it's a contract and we still have to pay 6 more months on the plan yet my dog is no longer alive. I will never ever use Banfield again. It is a horrible company and provides awful care. read more

I have been going to Banfield since before I could remember. I love that they have locations everywhere as I travel often. My pup has been on the optimum wellness plan several years ago and I currently put him back on it as I love that it keeps him protected. This Banfield is not the greatest though. The front desk staff is generally too busy talking to each other to check me and my dog in. I frequently fly with my dog and need a health certificate within 10 days of the flight in order to fly. I have extremely limited availability so I booked my visit almost a month in advance to ensure id be seen. Less that 24 hours before my visit I get a phone call that I need to come in another day because "the doctor in that day doesn't do health certificates". Okay, well now with 7 days before my flight and it being almost impossible to find another vet to see my dog within 24 hours I am screwed. In addition, one time I called frantically because my dog ate an entire bag of calming chews and was curious what to do. I told them the ingredients and the brand. The only response I got back was "well its up to you. if you're worried you can take him to the emergency pet hospital or you can just wait, but you can't bring him here". Despite the fact that I pay them every month just to bring my dog there, gotta go somewhere else. Love it. I will say I did have one vet tech who was AMAZING and is the only reason I come back. The cool thing is their insurance policy applies to all of the offices, so if you don't like the current one you can go to the one an hour away. read more

My poor dog! The vet recommended they clip is nails and 3 out of his 4 were clipped too short and the vet was so gracious enough to let us know they had to restrain him while doing it, hmm wonder why. My dog is 5 and has always had his nails clipped by groomers at petsmart with no problem. We move every 3 months for my job and we have a plan with Banfield but we won't be going here the rest of our time in Waco! read more

The front end staff was helpful and fine. If you can afford it, see a private clinic with personalized care as I was educated better and enlightened on by an animal loving group. Also take your pet in for annual checkups bc things can sneak up even if they are read as good health for years, things still can go undetected. Did not inform me that my dog was dying from heartworms, and informed me only of symptoms and saying nothing they could do about it. Somehow my dog showed a jump of strength temporarily, so not sure what went on behind closed doors,maybe gave it a boost and likely stressed it out even more. Don't rush to stimulate a severely ill dog, gently bring up it's strength first. In hindsight, my dog needed an IV to gain strength and eat first before trying any procedure. That's my 2 cents. Then the dr, who looked kinda young to be a vet dr and seemed a bit inexperienced, referred me to somewhere hours away as an emergency. Meaning skipping tons of other local and nearby clinics, doesn't sound logical at all. Sounds like a financial incentive idea. My dog didn't make it there. Rip to my beautiful, sweet, smart lil friend. Listen your dog may never show a severe illness until the last minute -- so please do those annual checkups and in a caring, personalized environment, if you can do so. read more

I attempted to make a Saturday appointment for a sick kitten I have started fostering. The clerk who answered took all my information and put me on hold. She later picks up the phone to tell me they had no Saturday openings. So I ask why was it necessary to take all my information and put me on hold if you already knew you were full! She claims she has to check with Doctor. Why are they screening their patients to pick and choose who they will see on Saturdays. I don't have a balance and haven't been there in several years. Unfortunately after taking our spaniel in for an itchy skin problem we were very disappointed in the insincere effort that their vet made in diagnosing the problem. Their vet was concerned more about selling us expensive products than actually examining our dog! They must be working on commission it seemed to us! After the exam and high price medicine we got out of there, after refusing several other items they were trying to sell us, for $161.00 with the exam being free, where elsewhere it would have been half that much. read more

Thorough exams, knowledgable staff, they will waive the office visit price sometimes if you haven't been there before. Also there's no office visit fee on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2pm and 4pm.. unless your pet is considered to be ill. This is basically for preventative care. read more

I have been taking our pride and joy there since the day we got him, Absolutely love the pet insurance, and never having to worry about having money available if he needs the doctor, since we are retired and on a fixed income and with the insurance all office visits are no charge They have taken excellent care of our Forrest or Boom as we mostly call him, because he is a very active little dog and reminds us of a boomerang about 90% of the time read more

The vet and tech's here are amazing! They have treated my pup like royal and always made sure he was comfortable and taken care of. I have moved out of town, but still try to take him up here for his check ups and call when he has an issue. They are always more than happy to help with any of our needs, no matter what. We have had a few visits in the last month and each time they exceed expectation in providing assistance to me and loving care to my dog. I started taking my dog here when I first adopted him. I was not really impressed. The doctors and staff were very impersonal, they didn't seem to really care about my animal or enjoy their dog. OMG what a rip off!!! First the vet nurse was rude... but then I meet the vet herself (Carter) and she was rude to me and my dog. Not only that, I was there 2 hours. They tested my dog for things she didnt even need to be tested for and charged me 3 times what I would have paid at our normal vet. You may get a free office visit your first time, but trust me they will get that money from you. My dog has a skin allergy... she tried to convience me to do a 300.00+ treatment that is not needed. I have done much research on the issue since then and she does'nt need half of what they said. THEY WILL LIE AND RUN UNESSESARY TEST TO GET ALL THE MONEY OUT OF YOU THEY CAN!!! Over priced, and I'd rather use a local vet who I know is going to be here in Waco for the long haul. I don't get that feel at Banfield.

went in for last and final check-up to ban field, made me wait 30 minutes with an appointment, I told the vets that my dog had a neck injury stupid vet pulled him so hard that after I brought him home he can't even sleep properly yelping every time he gets up, I am doing you guys a favor by writing this review just Please don't take you animal here if you love them, they have no respect for your animals they only tell you what you want to hear. read more
