When a restaurant offers up a lot of different options, it can be tricky to review especially if you don't opt for one of their specialty items because they will naturally make some dishes better than others. Given that their offerings include both japanese staples such as ramen, udon, sushi, and katsu and korean staples such as bibimbap and bulgogi, I was a little skeptical going into it that they would be able to make all of these well. My thoughts were justified when I got my food 40 minutes later (with probably about 5-6 people's orders ahead of me). Not only did it take a little too long to get my food, but the food I received wasn't particularly great. I had gotten one of the spicy pork plates and opted to upgrade to fried rice. Presentation was nice but while the taste was passable, paying more than $20 for the plate was just too much for it to only be okay. Each bite didn't entice me to want to eat more like many other spicy pork plates do at other restaurants. Instead, I found myself finishing the plate only for the sake of not being hungry later that afternoon. The avocado smoothie was fine and probably the highlight of my meal.

If I had written this review after my first visit in 2021, it would have been a solid 5 stars! The katsu was PICTURE PERFECT and fried to super crispy PERFECTION but still light and not too greasy. After my most recent, I would say the katsu is still good, but not as delicate and refined as my first experience. Bang Bang Katsu House is connected to Cafe Bora - the cash registers are right next to each other and the receipt will still show Cafe Bora. Order a drink and dessert from Cafe Bora after your meal from Bang Bang Katsu House. The Bang Bang Katsu plate is a MUST - and be sure to ask for the spicy BB sauce. The katsu was perfectly crispy and came out perfectly the first time I ordered it in 2021. 2022 and 2023 katsu? Not so much. The cutlet doubled in size and the breading seemed different, but was still tasty. The corn nuggets were also surprisingly tasty. I've also tried the bang bang sandwich - not bad, although I prefer the katsu plate. The chicken katsu cup bob wasn't bad but seemed like a rice heavy version of the katsu plate. Just depends what you're looking for. Overall, whenever I'm craving a katsu, I would still stop in to Bang Bang Katsu House. However, I wouldn't expect what I initially ordered in 2021 now.

Wow, this place is so good and the portions are HUGE. You truly get a bang for your buck here! The pork tonkatsu is perfectly crispy yet juicy and tender and pairs wonderfully with the rice, cabbage, and corn. The service here is also phenomenal. This establishment is connected to a dessert and tea place as well and I've received great service from both. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of each side is unique to their speciality and they are always coming out with new intriguing meals to try.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The parking can get a bit tight in front of the restaurant but there's ample parking in the back of the building.

Starting off, drinks weren't even filled all the way. Like seriously...I work at a boba shop it's not that stingy to have the appearance of a full cup for customers. So big downside for them. Food was decent, all of us enjoyed our food except for the chicken teriyaki with fried rice. Complaints about the chicken and rice being dry were prominent. The katsu though was good, breading and flavor is solid. [[HIGHLIGHT]]AC felt like it was out in there? Outside felt cooler than being in the place and it was a hot day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is one of the places I'd go once just to try and not again sadly.

We have been wanting to try this restaurant as it has some of our favorite food items: Katsu + Ramen. These classic Japanese/Asian cuisines bring back lots of memories from our honeymoon to Japan to just classic comfort food. I was a bit disappointed that this restaurant did not deliver. Ambiance: 5/5 --in general, this restaurant decor is very cute, clean and neat. The girls at the register/cooking were very engaging and attentive (letting us know what each dish would contain/waiting on us). It is self service: you get a buzzer and go get your food once it is ready. Food: 2.5-3/5 -- we ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen + side of Katsu ($6) and the Pork Katsu. The ramen is one of the most distasteful ramen I have ever had... from the broth to the noodles. The broth is a creamy, peppery and smoky flavor with thin rice-like noodles. I took a first sip + there was a bland creamy taste. I was really surprised and then ended up mixing up the bowl and discovered discolored brown noodles at the bottom with all the seasoning. (See picture). It appeared as if they had placed all the seasoning/soy sauce on the bottom of the dish + forgot to mix. The only good thing about this dish was the side katsu (which was the same size as the katsu dish) Katsu plate: $6 ramen katsu was the same exact size as the one on the plate ... only difference, the sides: rice, cabbage salad, couple pickles, small sauce (extra sauce is $0.50) and a dried fried dumpling... the katsu was not bad. Not the worst I have tried -- not the best. It was disappointing that some of my pieces that breading that was falling off so the full crunch was not there. In general, we are very glad to have tried a new restaurant but I personally did not like the food enough to come back. The ramen was the absolute mood killer -- from the noodles to the broth. I know why they call themselves bangbangKATSU because that seems to be their specialty. But I would not pay the full $$ for the plate as the sides are very mediocre. The best deal was the katsu side with the ramen -- but again the ramen was 2.5/5 for me so I don't think it will be worth getting that as well.

Whenever I'm craving delicious Japanese cuisine I always love to visit here. To my surprise they have recently unveiled their new menu items, the cupbop line. Staff: the front end staff greeted us courteously and were very friendly and attentive. Interior: I've always loved the interior design of bang bang, with bright colors that pop it is always a refreshing experience dining in. They recently put up Christmas decorations for the holiday seasons which really gets you in the holiday spirit. Food: We ordered the pork katsu cupbop and the spicy ramen. The cupbop was the perfect portion and I enjoyed the combination of fresh vegetables, crispy fried pork, and steamed white rice. The spicy ramen was also delicious and extra spicy, just the way we like it. Bang bang never fails to satisfy my craving for delicious and easy Japanese food, and I will continue coming back to see what new items they come out with!

Looking for dinner after 9 (close to our hotel) was a failing effort and then we saw Bang Bang Katsu House. We decided that we had nothing to lose and would give it a try. It literally turned into being one of the best things we EVER eaten. I'm not sure what's going on here, but I like it! The food is seasoned exceptionally well. It is burring with flavor. And the people were super nice.

My knowledge of Bang Bang Katsu House was by takeout and delivery. To be honest, I haven't written anything until now because it didn't really do it for me. Having had a chance to actually eat there, I have to say, the katsu is pretty good when it's right out of the fryer. With the recent addition of ramen, I had to go try it. Given it's not the usual place you would go for noodles, I know the game... so I set my expectations low and prepared myself to be disappointed. What disappointed me was they didn't disappoint me, I guess. I just got the plain ol' tonkatsu ramen. I didn't want it hidden in spicy heat or toppings. It's not on the level of Ramen Bar, but for something that I'd say is close enough to be neighborhood, it's a good find. The broth is creamy and rich, the noodles had a good consistency. Wash it all down with a good milk tea!

Great place to go for lunch if you're a day job'r and on a time crunch. You walk in, greeted quickly, usually not a line, and even though the food is made to order (which is a good thing) it's only about five minutes or so. The vibe is casual for sure but the dishes are real so you do not feel rushed The food is top quality. I've only had the bowls but had the chicken and the namesake and both are winner-winner.

It's a restaurant shared with another dessert place but easy to find on Windward parkway. I walked in and was greeted immediately and ordered my meal. Got my number and a drink and sat down. All orders are freshly made but the wait wasn't long at all. I got the original signature pork katsu w rice combo. It comes w 1 gyoza dumpling as well. The pork cutlet was crispy and juicy inside. Perfect !! I loved all of my meal and finished it but it's plentiful so I left pretty full. The restaurant is fairly new and everything is clean inside. They also have other options on their menu but not many. I'm so happy this has came to Alpharetta for more of a variety In restaurants.

Katsu house is attached to cafe Bora but have separate billing They're both in a strip mall with a ton of parking and other stores They have indoor and outdoor seating & staff was friendly. Katsu house has a few ramen options or katsu options and maybe a few more items on the menu. The pork katsu plate was $12 and a must try! We got the spicy bang bang sauce and it comes with a side salad & rice But the katsu. The crunch. The tender meat inside. The tangy sauce. Such a great stop on our way home! We split one for a light dinner with our bingsoo from next door but I probably could've eaten a whole one myself. Definitely recommend coming by

Decided to get takeout from here for dinner because it's very conveniently located on Windward Parkway with plenty of parking. When you walk in, BB Katsu shares the same store space as Cafe Bora so it was a little confusing at first. I came in at peak dinner time so I expected a little wait, but they were severely understaffed. It took several minutes before someone acknowledged me and took my order. It then took a very long time for my order to be made. Luckily there was plenty of seating and the store is very clean and cute to look at, but was definitely frustrated by how long it took. My food itself was pretty good. I had the chicken Katsu plate with the Bang Bang sauce. The plate comes with a sizeable fillet, rice, salad with house dressing (thousand island), and a little dumpling. I loved how crispy the chicken was and the sides were good. The sauce reminded me of the sweet and sour sauce at McDonald's honestly, but it was super tasty! I would try the spicy sauce next time and also probably get an additional side as I was still a little hungry. Overall, it's a cool concept and good food, just definitely order ahead and this place needs more staffing to be more convenient! Edit: I ended up calling back the next day because I needed a copy of my receipt and the employee and manager I spoke to on the phone were very helpful and kind and sent me a copy right away! Thanks for the great customer service!

Tucked in a small plaza sandwiched between a orthodontists office and a salon is this little tiny joint off Webb Bridge road off Kimball Bridge in Alpharetta. So when you walk into the place, it's got the vibe of a night market where you're sitting in the street of Hong Kong or Beijing eating local fare. The decor reflects that the art of the place gives it that night market feeling. There isn't much in terms of service as it's a small operation but that's all you really need is a front of house greeter/host and someone to deliver the food and someone to cook it and Haochi has it! Now let's talk food... I had gotten their char sui pork bao (they named it chashu like the Japanese pork used in Tonkatsu ramen), Taiwanese fried chicken, and the HongKong wonton noodle soup... and let me tell you! It's all great! The Taiwanese fried chicken is crispy yet the chicken is so juicy and flavorful. Seasoned beautifully with a hint of that Chinese 5 spice in the batter recipe and served popcorn style with a sweet and sour dipping sauce makes for a very good starter The bao bun is light. Not much of a fan of the char sui pork as it was cut bologne thin yet held almost no flavor and the cucumber used was a bit off putting so wasn't a fan of the bao, at least not the chashu version. The HongKong wonton Noodle soup is amazing!!! The broth was savory, rich, yet seeing that the base of the broth is wonton soup broth, it was also light and super clean and deeply flavorful. Maybe it's the MSG but that's an Asian staple seasoning. They did give large chunks of roast pork and about 4 shumai dumplings in the broth. The noodles were thin and cooked to perfection. What set this right even more so was the addition of chili oil. Bummed they didn't have Chinese black vinegar but I think that's just me being snobby. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experience at Haochi and it's definitely fusion but not in the way that it satisfies the western taste as there is still a prominent nod to the Chinese and South East Asian flavors. Worth hitting up for a lunch spot or a hang with friends.

This left an impression and we returned. Our second experience was disappointing to say the least. The menu changed, portion sizes were different and the service was awful. The female server made all effort and enthusiasm to compliment the table behind us. She made comments about the gentleman at that table who looked like a CEO (hint folks, he wasn't and he was obviously from a different demographic than us - ps this reviewer is from the East Asian diaspora). We were never asked if we wanted more water, the sushi rolls came out after we finished the main entree and when asked when it would come out the server blew us off saying that it is coming. Because we finished our meal before the sushi rolls came out, we were too full to eat them. When we asked if they could be wrapped up to go, she literally threw the box at us and walked away. Needless to say we won't be returning. Our family likes to support small businesses. We understand how difficult it is to sustain a restaurant in this economy and thin margins for the food industry. But at least try. Don't make your implicit bias and preference for who you guess is an important person so obvious that it detracts others. You have no idea what another customer might actually do for a living either. Super disappointing. If you are a POC not considered the preferred class - don't patronize this business. You will likely be disappointed and treated poorly. Also - the food is overpriced.
