Came by on a Sunday to try their rolls since they are half off then. Huge restaurant with lots of seating and good for a date. Service was friendly. We ordered the rainbow roll, ba ba bu, salmon lover (forgot the name), and big tempura (also forgot the exact name). Rolls were not amazing and not bad either. Quite westernized and good as an intro to sushi for those not familiar. Likely won't return but glad we got to try it!

We came here for a Father's Day dinner because they offer a pre made menu and everything seemed to be going great initially. We ordered our cocktails and they came out normal time. We were also the only ones in the restaurant at 5pm. We ordered two baby high chairs and mentioned it in the ressy as well. One of the severs took one of the chairs away thinking we weren't using it and never asked before they took it, so now we had to feed one of the babies on our lap. We also requested if they could find another one and they only have 2 high chairs and one booster. Why does this well known restaurant only have 1 booster and 2 high chairs. Anyways, that's the least of the unfortunate events that occurred during this time. We had two servers simultaneously coming to take orders and then we addressed this with the one server that took the main dinner order; he comes around and says I'm not your server, meanwhile, the main lady that is working the floor said that they are all helping each other. We ordered our apps right away and they came out in time and as soon as we wanted to place our main course we couldn't find any of the servers. We had to wait and wait and wait until someone listened to us and finally came out to take our order. The table across from us there were 14 people being served back to back with their orders. None of them had to call the severs and were being served instantly. I am not here to make any allegations on how they are treating their customers but we were being constantly ignored and dismissed. The main lady keeps saying we are sorry and came back to confirm our order because the two tickets we had before apparently she wanted to confirm with while another server said they only had one ticket for us. We have 4 little ones and cannot imagine if we waited to feed them here how hangryyyy they would have been. We are currently waiting 2 hours for our three sushi rolls. This is a live review because clearly I have all the time in the world to write this while I wait for my sushi. The food is good, nothing against it but the SERVICE, god damn the service is a minus 0. It's so bad when you enter the restaurant at 5pm for your reservation and do not get your food until 7:30. We asked for the WiFi for the kids iPad since they have been waiting for so long and the lady did not want to give us the WiFi. You'd think she would understand given how long we have been waiting for. The only response we kept getting is we are sorry, we are sorry. We also wanted to order another round of drinks and now did not because our food is taking a forever to come out and we are honestly just trying to leave at this point. When we received one of the rolls, we got two of the same ones and the rest of the 4 rolls were "lost in translation" apparently cause the server that dropped off an extra roll didn't know that it was suppose to go to the table across from us and then said " you've got ur order right? This whole experience was a joke honestly, I cannot fathom all of the mishaps that occurred and do not know how they operate and are still open. Towards the end, one of the servers said come again and we said probably not.... The server goes OK thank you. This just shows they do not value their customers and the type of experience you have.

What a nice little upscale sushi bar! I was instantly blown away by the posh and sleek interior, and the hostess was so sweet as we were instantly sat down. The candlelit lighting was beautiful and accentuated by the decor and bar lights inside the restaurant. I ordered the Ba Ba Bu roll (which was half off during happy hour!) and the 5 Sashimi platter (15 pieces in total, 3 of each). Fish was fresh and delicious, melting in my mouth basically. The Ba Ba Bu roll had a delightfully bright note with the lemon! Overall, such a great experience. Would definitely recommend!

My best friend and I randomly chose monkey 68 on a Friday night when we couldn't decide what to eat (and everywhere else needed reservations at 7:30). We did call ahead but didn't make reservations. It was right near downtown Alpharetta, but tucked away a few blocks ahead with its own parking lot. It was pretty crowded (again peak time on a Friday night) but we were sat at a high top without any reservations. We ordered two rolls (Ba ba bu and one whose name I forgot) and the bang bang shrimp. If I could eat that bang bang shrimp has the only meal for the rest of my life, I would.

I'm a huge fan of Chirori so I was excited to try Chef Jackie's new restaurant, Monkey 68 Kitchen & Bar in Alpharetta. Apparently, there's a Monkey 68 in Roswell as well so don't make the same mistake I did & go to the right location lmao. I visited last night, which happened to be Alpharetta Restaurant Week & tried their tasting menu. OMG, everything was soooo goood & I left feeling full & satisfied. My fav new drink is the Matcha Highball, Japanese Whiskey & Matcha is a match made in heaven!! The Iheartdogs cocktail is very refreshing as well!! Do yourself a favor & come check it out (: you def won't be disappointed! Thank you Chef Jackie, Misty & Daniel for your hospitality & impeccable service. I've always had a great experience with Chef Jackie & his team. Food, service & ambiance always on point! Can't wait to come back to try their other menus as well! ^^

Stopped in because I had sushi on my mind all week. This place had great decor and was very cute. Would be a great place for a date or girls night out. It was not packed at all but the service was a little slow. However, my server was very polite and attentive. The ramen bowl was really good. The sushi was okay.

    Omakase

This is definitely a hidden gem. The ambiance is surprisingly nice. A must try omakase experience that is to die for. I went for double the omakase experience and instead of one choice I got both choices. It's absolutely a restaurant you must try in Alpharetta. Allen and Jess were very knowledge and kept me entertained the whole time I was there.

Wow, what an unbelievable afternoon of a culinary delight. I finally got an opportunity to go see my favorite sushi chef, chef Jackie Chang, at his new sushi restaurant Monkey 68 Kitchen And Bar in Alpharetta along with my mom, Ron, Chef Aaron Phillips of Lazy Betty and his lovely wife Lai. Chef Jackie's Omakase course was bar none the best I have ever had; Chef Aaron even joked that Chef Jackie was working towards a Michelin star and that would not be an understatement. Thank you, Chef Jackie, and Misty for your incredible hospitality and for accommodating my eating time window and opening an hour earlier than the usual business hours. Cannot wait for our next get together to explore more exotic culinary concoctions.

Brand new management and went to the soft opening today. Chef Jackie has proven himself as a savior of restaurants because the service and food quality we got tonight was above superb. Shoutout to Swan and Ethan who took so much care of us tonight! The music and the finishes of the restaurant was such a vibe. When dining here you feel like you are part of the upper echelon without breaking the bank. The parking is easy just make sure you enter from the front entrance as there is a furniture store entrance that can get confusing. Overall amazing experience. DRINKS WERE SOME OF THE BEST IVE HAD! They have zodiac drinks, so my goal is to try the entire calendar!

TLDR ; food was not bad, experience was facepalm ‍ It had been a few months since we've been to monkey 68, but we heard it was under new management so we decided to give it a try. I understand new restaurants go through growing pains but what we experienced was pretty rough. We were sat promptly on a Saturday night but we were only given 1 menu for 3 people to share. The drinks were lacking, the same cocktail menu as the previous owner, but far less tasty, and weak. The food came out extremely slowly, the first orders showed up about 42 minutes after we placed our order. I timed it . Some of our food didn't show up so we had to ask another waiter to check on it, and 20 minutes later the rest of our food arrived. Small restaurant but it seemed extremely overbooked and understaffed. I hate to leave bad reviews but the experience we had was not pleasant. The food was definitely not bad, but the service left much to be desired

Sex & the City Roll Super crunch roll

Enjoyed a delicious dinner tonight at Monkey 68 in Alpharetta. The wagyu dumpling special was very tasty. We loved the rolls, especially Sex in the City, New Spiderman, and Love Me Tender. Can't wait to come again and try more rolls. Service was outstanding!

There are so many thoughtful little details in the décor that make it feel special. Every server and staff member was genuinely kind and impressively hospitable, offering a level of service that honestly surpasses some higher-end restaurants I've been to. Now, the food. Their ginger salad might be the best I've ever had. They use romaine and green leaf lettuce instead of the typical iceberg, which gives it far more flavor and texture. The dressing was smooth and creamy--not broken, watery, or overly acidic like so many ginger dressings tend to be. The miso soup also had more depth of flavor than most versions I've tried. A bonus surprise: they have more lunch options than what's listed online, and the in-person prices are actually cheaper. So don't rely on the website--come in and look for yourself. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and sushi roll combo. They offer a generous selection of rolls to choose from, and I went with the Alaskan roll. The filling was plentiful and well-balanced. The rice on the outside was slightly thin in a few bites where the seaweed peeked through, but the overall flavor was excellent. The chicken teriyaki was outstanding--juicy, tender, perfectly seared, and full of rich teriyaki flavor. I also appreciated the unexpected cold bean sprout salad on the side, which added a nice contrast to the meal. Overall, this was a wonderful lunch at a very fair price--only $15. I'd happily return and highly recommend stopping in rather than making assumptions based on appearances or online listings.

When I first had their ramen that's all I could think about when we visited Atl. I asked for spicy Sichuan pepper sauce on side and all it was doing with a tiny bit in my ramen was making my tongue tingle the whole time. It kind of ruined my appetite. I had this better and not sure why that happened. I was charged extra without being informed of this and I gave her the whole sauce back after telling the server about this. So I love this spot. It did not miss. There were some things that I would have liked but it was so…read moregood that I don't even bother with that. It's still gonna get a five-star rating from me. It's in a shopping center area in Dora Ville so there's no paid parking. It's a free lot but around that specific part of the building it may be packed but there's parking everywhere. You'll come in and the outside of the building looks drastically different from the inside because inside it looks very rustic Japanese decor. You'll find a lot of wood and a lot of decorations that go to that time period but still great, still very nice and appeasing to look at. The staff was super patient with me and that definitely made me nod my head to the customer service. I needed more time for some things and they were patient. They kept my glass full and I was also very appreciated, especially with that hot spicy soup that I got lol. Super great staff. Spicy gyoza soup - so the soup was really good. My only thing was the fact that they brought it out hotter than lava lol. You will need another bowl there so that you could eat the soup and hopefully it'll cool down because you don't want it to burn through your mouth. The flavor in there was really good and the dumplings in there were great. Ooba maki (delicious pork roll) - so you get a few of these on a skewer and you get two skewers of meat and it was really good. You can taste the distinct pork flavor and it was seasoned very well. You don't really get the leaves, which is what it's wrapped in, but I guess you wouldn't taste that. No this was a really good snack and it's just enough for an appetizer to get you hungry. Yakitori Chicken - this is a go-to no. If it's this type of Japanese spot, I'm going to get the Yakitori. It comes on a couple of skewers and it was very flavorful. I got my teriyaki style but this was a hit. It's very simple but it's direct. Scallop and bacon - the scallop and bacon was really good. Like everything else it came on a few skewers and you get a few pieces on the skewers. It was actually really tasty and I would get it again. The only thing is the bacon kind of overshadowed everything else but bacon does that so I can't hold that against them. Miso Pork belly - the pork belly was okay. I don't want to say that like it was bad because it was actually really good but of the other things this might have been the thing that was the most decent. It wasn't necessarily because of the flavor per se. It was more so that some of the consistency was a little weird. Not in a bad way because I would order it again but it just felt like you have part of it that was melting in your mouth. The other part was a little bit more chewy than it needed to be but that could be for any reason. It was still good. Vegetable tempura - the vegetable tempura was okay. It came with very large vegetables and it came with a sauce that had a little sweetness to it. It kind of tried to balance out with the deep-fried food and the sweet on the side. Atsigiti bacon - The bacon was okay. It really was just as they cut bacon so it really wasn't anything special or major about it. But it got quite a bit of the in the bowl. Chicken wasabi - The chicken lasagna is basically the chicken yakitori with wasabi sauce drizzle. If that don't get me wrong. The chicken is always good but some really creep up on you here LOL. It was a solid choice. Pork belly - the pork belly was good.... I got it teriyaki style. When I got it the first time I got the miso styles but both of it was actually really good. Honestly, there's not a whole lot of difference except for the only sweetness but it's still great. Overall I will 102% be coming back to this kind of spot. The fact that it's closer than my other spot, which is in Midtown, really is a plus for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the time here.

We wanted some ketchup for the fries but the server never came back after dropping off our entrees, so my husband had to get up to ask for some, then he brought the smallest container I've ever seen, for 2 people to share.
