Bang bang kitchen is a very vegetarian friendly restaurant located in the Beacon Hill area of Seattle. I love their decor and lots of seating options. However parking was pain. All street parking was full for blocks so we parked a few blocks away and walked. Only when we entered did we notice they validate parking for restaurant guests at the nearby parking garage. We were there in time for evening happy hour and they had a lot of choices for food and drink but to be honest, I thought the prices for happy hour were not that cheap and compared to other restaurants. Our server did a great job answering our questions and bringing out our food and drinks. We ordered zucchini fries and nachos. The zucchini fries were delicious and perfectly crunchy with the batter on top. We really enjoyed those. The nachos were flavorful too but the cheese wasn't what we were expecting. It was a green chili queso but it seemed very runny vs a thicker cheese. It was still delicious but just something different than we expected. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and happy hour and had a pleasant time. Parking is easy since you're able to validate it in the restaurant using a QR code or something similar (I forget) on the table which was super convenient. We got seated right away. Food came out quickly. Our server was very friendly as well. Checked up on us often and was very warm. We ordered a couple drinks. They were solid and got me a bit tipsy lol. We ordered queso fries as our appetizer. It was my favorite thing we ate there. Fries were warm, crunchy, and soft in the inside. The sauce and meat tasted great too. We also ordered corn dogs off the happy hour menu - the cornbread around the dog itself was thinner than I'm used to in a normal corn dog, which I liked! It was a good bread to meat ratio and the sauce was excellent. For our main, we got the bang bang burrito and the birria tacos. The burrito was delicious. Super flavorful and the side salad was good too. Loved the dressing. The birria tacos were not the best I've ever had. The tacos themselves were good, and the side of beans was solid. I went here for a Sunday dinner for happy hour. There's a decent selection but the happy hour prices are about the same as regular price at other places. We instead focused on the Plate of Nations menu which was $35 serves 2 people - basically the MLK neighborhood version of restaurant week. - Chips and salsa and queso - the chips were decent but the salsa was thick in texture, which is not really my preference. I liked the cheese and wish they gave more than just a small sauce cup - Chicken wings - we got the honey butter and it was great - Fried Brussels sprouts - also very delicious. Amazing execution of the appetizers - Enchiladas - this is where it went downhill. The sauce was bitter and the chicken was a bit dry - Tacos - basically kind of like Taco Bell but with fresher ingredients. Happy hour it's like $12 for 2 tacos which is quite a ripoff (and extra $4-5 surcharge for other proteins beyond ground beef and chicken...) - Rice was good but I was barely able to eat the beans as it was not that good I got the raspberry mint caipirinha for the cocktail and it was really refreshing. I loved the muddled fruit that I decided to pour water into the cup as an infused water after finishing the drink In addition we had the tajin-dusted fried zucchini and that was good. I love the creamy green chile sauce which acted as a nice dip for the chips because they were so stingy with the queso dip. For dessert we tried the sopapillas which is quite airy and it's nice to try it sweet instead of savory. Service is really slow. Came here for Father's Day. We were quickly seated. My dad got the chile relleno and I got the enchiladas with chicken. The chile relleno was delicious. It was filled with cheese that spilled out upon being cut. My enchiladas were pretty good. I feel like there could've been more flavor to them. Both dishes came with a size of rice and beans. The rice and beans were small and also could've been a little better. Both seemed a bit dry. We also split a guacamole and we were given a basket of chips for a tiny thing of guacamole. Where has New Mexican food been all my life?? In New Mexico, I guess. Finally tried this spot after moving south to the neighborhood a few months ago, and it instantly became our new go-to brunch spot. Came here Ona date brunch with my wife, and we'll definitely be bringing the kids next time. The cornbread pancakes and chicken wings and breakfast torta all hit the spot. It's a beautiful cross between TexMex and a hint of Southern cuisine, a wonderful mixture of flavors that were at once familiar and novel to us. They have a beautiful restaurant on Othello with lots of space for groups of varying sizes, and they have validated parking in garage behind the restaurant. Spent a lot of time on such a small menu to decide what we wanted as some items seems peculiar, like vegan Mac&cheese and pancakes w/ wings so we ordered queso and chips along with some drinks as we continued to browse the menu and look up pictures to catch their vibe but we both landed on enchiladas. Dish comes with 3 enchiladas but you cannot mix the meat so we got 3 chicken and 3 brisket, both with red & green sauce. I went for brunch this time and will certainly be back for dinner! Bang Bang isn't veg*n, but they are very friendly and many of the menu items can be easily modified to be either vegan or vegetarian. I went with the breakfast burrito, sub soyrizo to make it veggie friendly. It was really good and filling! The green sauce was definitely my favourite of the two. To drink I got a Berry the Hatchet, which was perfect! The restaurant was beautifully clean, the service was great, and they have a bar section. Great establishment!! I ran in one rainy night for some chips, guacamole, and a Margarita. It was 3 minutes to 6:00, and Happy Hour was ending. Lovely ambiance with fun lights, tables, and booths. The hostess and waiter were both very friendly and attentive. The food was GREAT overall. We started with sopapillas and honey -- wow. Bang Bang Kitchen is my favorite place for Mexican food in Seattle. Hatch Green Chilies? You've got me! I love the everything I've eaten here but my favs are the tacos and the enchiladas with Christmas sauce (half red and half green chili). Unfortunately, the prices have really increased and the serving size has decreased. When we first started going here a couple of years ago, you would get 3 enchiladas= rice and beans for $19. Now you get 2 enchiladas + rice and beans for $23. That's $11.50 per enchilada. In all honesty, 2 enchiladas is enough for me but more $ for less food is tough. Shrinkflation strikes again! I still love this place and we still go, albeit not as often as we used to, but we forgo the trio dip and alcoholic beverages. read more

The food: a solid 9/10. The chicken wings were exquisite because it was not over seasoned and perfectly crispy. The vegan Mac blew my mind because you wouldn't know it didn't have any dairy in it. Lactose intolerance people rejoice. If you order the tacos it comes with the salsa. Take your wings and dip it in the ancho salsa and you got a winning combination. Remember this: wings and salsa. The cooks in the back are definitely understand what they are doing because the food flavors and textures are masterful. The owners really pay attention to your order. Don't like something? My Girlfriend and I chose this place because she is New Mexico born and raised and moved out her last year. So when we saw this listed as "New Mexican Cuisine" we felt that this was a must try. For Drinks: I do have to say this was my fault for not looking up what a shrub drink is, it has a base of apple cider vinegar. Which I myself do not like. If you don't like ACV, I would suggest you avoid it, cause the vinegar taste is definitely not masked by the pear rosemary flavor. For Starters: We shared a Frito Pie w/ground beef. She gave it a 9/10, very much had the taste of home. It was my first time trying one, and I will definitely try to make these at home, so good. For Entrees: She had the Stuffed Sopapillas w/ ground beef. She would rate it a 7/10, because the bread was more like a fried tortilla because it was just so thin and not like a true sopapilla. She did like the "christmas style" of the chile, she just wished there was more of the red chile. I had the huevos rancheros w/ green chile chicken, she gave it a solid 10/10. I've tried Bang Bang Kitchen twice now and I've had the bang bang burrito both times. It comes with beans, rice, cheese, green and red Chile sauce, and I've ordered it with chicken each time. The portion size of the burrito is large but not too large that it is overwhelming. It definitely fills you up. You can get green or red Chile or a half and half of both on the top. I have always gotten the burritos to go so I can't say anything on the service, but they have always been prompt about having my food ready when they say it is when I order.
