This place is a great find in a small residential area strip mall. Once you're inside, you feel like you've stepped into a modern urban cafe in a big city. The staff is always great, genuine smiles, and always offering help if you ever have a question. The craft cocktails are very creative and deserve a try if you stop in. Great presentations! Been meaning to try this and the time has finally come! I love Arepas! We went during a quiet mid-day Wednesday and only a few people were either having late lunch or early dinner. Don't let the exterior of the building fool you, once you enter it's another vibe. The ambiance and vibe were chill with a lounge area next to the bar or you can opt for a quieter spot on the other side (not that the bar was loud). Our waiter was attentive and took the time to explain the items when I asked. Thanks to a fellow yelper, I was able to order the Arepa Pabellano - it's not on the menu. At least I didn't see it. It has plantains, fresca queso and black beans with shredded beef. I opt out on the beans, but it was still very delicious. The portion is humongous! Our party of four arrived around 5:30 PM on a Wednesday and were the first ones there; things picked up after 6:00 PM, though it remained comfortably busy. Finding the place was a bit tricky--thanks, Google Maps--but the experience was well worth it. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and every single one exceeded expectations. The appetizers, mains, and desserts were fantastic--highlights included the Camarones al Ajillo, Salmon, and Al Pastor. The Tequenos and Fried Plantains were great starters, but the desserts stole the show: the Churros were decadently filled with cream and paired with ice cream, the Pistachio Cloud tart was delicious, and the Quesillo tasted just like my mom's. Not the best location in terms of outdoor ambiance. Also the service was pretty bad, although we had someone on their first week maybe who did not know the menu and perhaps did not understand our questions. All good though the food was amazing! We kind of struggled to get our check and leave, but maybe this was on purpose??? I know in Europe when you have the table it's yours for the night. We didn't mind and when we were ready to go we caught their attention. I would probably come back again to try more of their very unique and varied menu. If you've never had Venezuelan food, you are missing out! Don't expect it to be like Mexican because it is not. This was our first time here but I have seen their food trucks and advertising and wanted to give them a try. It honestly doesn't look like much from the outside and the location seems a bit off the beaten path but I'm not from Renton and don't know the area. The interior looks nothing like the exterior. It is very clean and inviting with plenty of seating plus a bar area. We were met right away and seated and when it came time to order, I asked our server to give us recommendations. She told us we should try two of the appetizers plus three main courses which we did. Everything was AMAZING and delicious! The service was excellent and we really enjoyed our time. From the moment you walk in you're swept into a different time and place - they really created a beautiful atmosphere; whether it's the couch while you're waiting for your table, the intimate quaint bar that feels like you're in another country, and the chairs at the dining tables. I've been waiting to try this since I know the Kent location has very positive reviews! This location didn't have online pickup when I tried it (it does now), but parking and ordering was very simple. It's located on the side of the Cascade Shopping Center that is mostly vacant, so there's lots of places to park. It's 100% of a sit-down restaurant and there's lots of seating available, including a bar area. It had a pretty cozy feeling with the warm-colored lights and natural lighting. It really did seem like it was expected for people to dine in because there's no counter per-say for quick to-go ordering. I waited a minute at the entrance because there wasn't a place to go to and ask if I can just get it to-go, and there was only employee going around servicing diners. I did just end up going to a table to wait and they gave me an acknowledging smile before getting my order a couple of minutes later. I ordered the Beef Arepa and the Reina Pepiada Arepa (chicken salad + avocado) and it took about 10-15 minutes to come out. The attendant did ask what sauces I wanted (spicy, curry, and cilantro) and I opted for the latter two. It was my first time having an arepa and it did a really good job of holding in the moisture of the fillings while having a dense, not very starchy taste. It's a bit hard to describe because there wasn't much of a taste to it (not a bad thing) but it complimented the fillings really well. The beef and reina pepiada arepas, I believe, were intentionally cooked without much seasoning so people could use the sauces to match their tastes. The beef arepa was more seasoned than the reina pepiada arepa, though the latter had a bit more natural sweetness. I think what was a shame was that their cilantro sauce is definitely a stand-out. It matched well with both arepas that I wish there was an option to have them pre-coat them in it before packaging. So it did end up leaving much more to be desired because the sauce packet is tiny and isn't enough for one arepa, let alone two. The curry sauce was fine. It was a very faint curry taste that didn't add much to the arepa flavors. So overall, I could see myself going here and the prices, serving sizes, and service were all reasonable. I hope that they can implement an ordering counter for non-dine-in customers (and a couple of stray chairs for people to sit in) and a self-serve counter for sauces in the future! read more

Definitely not something you could easily cook at home. Everything was full of flavor, cooked to perfection, and worth the money. We sampled the ceviche, the salmon, the arepas, and the camarones. We also went for the rum flight (full shots btw) and some of the dulce de leche infused dessert (can't remember the name unfortunately) Amazing. Ambiance was way more intimate and classy than you would expect from the surrounding neighborhood but seems like a welcome addition. Only problem is they had seemingly one waitress working her hardest to take care of the customers so service was slow unfortunately. I feel like we waited a total of an extra 45 minutes kind of waiting for service and check ins but our food was fast and hot and always served with a smile an apologies. That aside I'll still be willing to bring out of towners and other non locals to this restaurant for a nice place to eat, but I may just consider take out on a day where I'm rushing. read more
