I went to Tommy back in 2021 before I moved to Japan. I had let my hair go a bit between services and I really wanted it cut pretty short. I had been coloring it and bleaching it and yeah, it was in a state. Tommy undertook the process of my hair and was really good and patient with me even when I was being unclear about hair length for my haircut. I was just dodgy over how short I wanted it but he was patient every time I asked for a little bit more off. I felt bad for being so wishy-washy! @.@ Now that I'm back in the States temporarily, I wanted to get it redone by him because even in Japan I felt it wasn't done very well. I'm so confused. My husband made appointments for my daughter and me. We were both going in for a color and cut. I had about 8 inches taken off my hair. It was a straight up cut, no layers or anything else. It is a straight cut that is one length, just past my shoulder. I also had one all over color done. I have natural medium brown hair that was not colored at the time. I had it colored to a violet red. My hair was washed. I did not have my hair dried or styled at all, I Ieft the salon with my hair wet. While my stylist was nice, there was a language barrier that made it difficult for us to converse. Explaining what I was there for was somewhat difficult and very frustrating for me. I was frustrated because my husband booked these appointments and was very clear what I was booking for. My appointment was for a cut and color. My stylist was not the stylist I was originally booked for. She was in a BIG HURRY the entire time. It was an experience I have not had before. She was rough when she washed and conditioned my hair(only when washing and conditioning). It did not take her more than four minutes to do both, I checked the time on my way to the sink. Having my hair colored was an experience and one that was very different than my experiences before. She had to come back a second time to apply a different color of dye because she said it wasn't right. I asked her how long the color should sit, she said she had no idea. The building was nothing like images online. It was a salon but when I requested an eyebrow wax, I was told they do not offer that service. Online it is listed as well as a variety of other similar services SUPPOSEDLY (?) offered. I would almost believe we were looking at the wrong website but the address, phone number and email were listed on the site that differed greatly from our surroundings and expected/received services. Not only was it a rushed, uncomfortable, slightly painful, confusing and poorly done experience, it was overpriced for what was received. We paid $250 before tip (my cost alone) for a basic haircut (straight cut only) and an all over single color. Remember, absolutely no blow dry or styling after my hair was washed and conditioned like it was a race and she certainly did not have a delicate touch. It was a very poor experience for me and I will not be returning. Such basic services should not have gone how it did nor cost what we paid. read more

Not very happy at all me and my daughter got a perm yesterday, I'm posting my pictures on Facebook a lot of people told me that the  Stylist should have known not perm bleach hair or  He should have done a testran!!   I'm very upset after what I've heard because I knew that it was destroyed destroyed when he was unraveling the curls.. Tommy is a scam! I was coming here for a few years to see Tommy for Japanese hair straightening treatments, first few times were good and I paid $320 every time even when I needed to just get my roots touched up. Last time the treatment was not even done correctly. He even sold me products that was not even good for my hair after permanent treatment. I dont mind spending when my hair is being done correctly, he even started to up-charge me a few times and when I asked why he responded "well you always pay the amount I ask". Little did I know I was being scammed, would have never known if my last treatment didnt go bad. I now go to a new place that charged the full amount first time and only $200 for touch ups. They said I should have never been paying the same amount each time and are actually doing the treatment correctly. I have done this process many times before and I have to say, this was the first time I had a hair dresser who checked every foil multiple of times. I trusted Tommy with my hair for a Japanese Hair Straightening treatment. I was from out of town but headed to vacation (and got engaged!) in Europe and wasn't going to have time to go to my trusted salon back home in Washington DC. They were very kind and friendly. It's a very cute salon. However make sure you are very specific about the type of style and cut you are asking for. I showed my assigned stylist a picture and I described what I was wanting. However that was not the haircut I walked out with. I didn't realize how much I was disappointed until I tried to fix my hair for myself the next day. Parts of my hair were cut to short while other parts were to long. I was in town for a wedding and needed my hair and makeup done. I showed the stylist what I thought was a very simple hairstyle (curled and a loose ponytail) and it turned out to be a complete fail. As for my makeup....once she finished caking on the foundation and applying eyeshadow, she informed me that she did not have eyeliner or mascara and that I could apply myself at home. I was SHOCKED, and disappointed that I was not told prior to the appointment that I would need to supply these items. I returned to my hotel mortified and immediately took my hair out (most of the curls had already fallen out anyway) and contemplated washing the makeup off my face but decided not to. I had high hopes for this place. I had done my research on using Olaplex for bleaching hair and found their location on the Olaplex website. I booked the appointment as a color correction and was assured that the product would prevent damage to my hair. I spent 4 hours in the salon only to walk out with damaged hair, paid full price but asked to come back in 2 weeks to try and "fix" it. I went back 2weeks later and walked out with more damage than before. I called Shaune a week later and tried to discuss the damage and how horrible it was and she offered nothing, nor was she apologetic. I had to go somewhere else to get the damage fixed. The person that fixed it said "my hair was atrocious!!!". The stylist that did my hair acted as if she didn't know anything. She was receiving directions the entire time on both occasions. Save your money and don't waste it on Olaplex and avoid people who claim that it prevents damage and last but not least pay someone that knows what they are doing! read more

Used to love going to this salon every time my mom visited me from NY this was her to go place for hair cut and trust me my mom is very picky ‍ it was owned by different management that time very talented and educated stylists on top of that price was very very reasonable and staff was awesome now this place is under new management any way I have very long and heavy hair up to my waist line I wanted to get hair color and just simple trim nothing fancy I know it will cost more than normal price for my hair that's why I called the owner spoke with him and told him I just want single process color and trim I made an appointment so he can see my hair can give me a quote I made an appointment went the salon and showed my hair he said it will be $140 for both color n cut I made an appointment and asked him to take $50 deposit which he did not asked for I paid by Amex I went to the salon ‍ on the day of my appointment he came to me n said your hair are really damaged you need olaplex and it will cost $25 extra on top of $150 that we decided I was surprised I said it was $140 and i paid $50 already now I only owe you $90 he said no it was $150 it's just $10 not a big deal but I asked him so it includes haircut and color n on top for olaplex another $25 correct he said that we never talked about haircut I was flabbergasted I trusted him didn't get anything in writing luckily I paid by card so refunded me my $50 but he made me look like a crazy woman and lair even though I did everything to make sure what exactly he's going to charge me for haircut n single process color.
