Bangkok BAR is located inside Industry City. My commute from Queens to Sunset Park was about 2 hours. It was less than a 10-minute walk from the 36 St subway station. The weather was in the high 70s today. My good friend Cynthia Z. and I decided to try Bangkok BAR. The ambiance was perfect for our lunch date. I told the cashier about my food allergies. Drinks Cynthia Z. - Thai Iced Tea Me - Poland Spring Water Noodles Cynthia Z. - Pad Thai (GF) + Shrimp Me - Pad See Ew + Shrimp: The Pad See Ew was my favorite Thai noodle dish stir-fried with shrimp, egg, Chinese broccoli, and sweet soy sauce. One word: Scrumptious Bookmark this spot to try!

Located inside Industry City, this spot feels like a hole-in-the-wall bar with a Southeast Asia vibe on a hot summer day - perfect for a quick, authentic eat. The food was fresh, delicious, and true to its roots. I was thinking of ordering Khao Soy but it's no longer on the menu and their mango sticky rice is seasonal as always. ORDERED: Me: Pad Thai & Thai Ice Tea: the Pad Thai was so fresh and delicious in every bit. The portion was so decently sized that i was so full after. The Thai iced tea was perfect. Anna: Pad See Ew & bottle water They accept cash, credit card, and Apple Pay. All in order, I recommend this place and would come back again.

Leave it to Brooklyn to totally nail it on the Thai food! While visiting NYC we trekked out to Brooklyn to pick up some household things, and this small eatery was nearby. It is located in a building that houses many open air restaurants. We had a hard time deciding which to choose.... But as soon as I took my first bite of my chicken pad Thai I knew we had chosen wisely. I'm fussy about the quality of the peanuts, the sauce ratio, and the proper "hint of lime" in my pad Thai. My tastebuds were thrilled that this dish needing absolutely no adjusting.

Cool little Thai spot in Industry City. If you're looking for a quick, fresh bite, I'd definitely recommend Bangkok Bar. The seating here is limited but I love that you can see your food being made if you sit by their bar area. I was looking for a quick snack/lighter lunch and opted to try their Fried Shrimp Rolls. They were ready in a flash and were served piping hot, with a sweet plum sauce on the side. The perfect option if you're looking for something quick and not overly filling. While the wintery weather wouldn't allow for it, I did spy a cute outdoor seating area which is a nice option for the warmer months. Service was fast and friendly, and the open kitchen area was spotless. Would definitely stop in and try their noodle dishes in the future.

What a pleasant surprise. I came here for an early dinner after work and I was greeted by the sweetest guy. His energy was infectious and made me feel comfortable after a long day of driving and dealing with crazies. Now the food: no funny, this is the best pad see ew I've ever had. There was an abundance of beef (pause) and the flavor was delicious. So tasty. I really cannot wait to go back and try other dishes! Also, the seating area was perfect. It was peaceful and the decor was super cool.

All I can say is that the two dishes my niece and I had (Pad Thai and Mango sticky rice) were DELICIOUS! The service was welcoming and the setting was small but relaxing and comfortable. I highly recommend trying this place.

Very impressed by their flavorful curry dishes, and very friendly service! Would absolutely come back to try more of their menu! 4.5/5 Massaman Curry -- loved the spices in this curry (very mildly spicy - especially great for those who have a lower spice tolerance), roasted peanuts and fried onions were a very nice touch as well. 4.2/5 Penang Curry -- also very flavorful, 2/5 on the spicy scale, tons of beef and veggies Barstool counter seating with quick service and attentive staff members!

Got takeout and tried a few new dishes. Garlic chicken with white rice and Tom Kha (Coconut Soup) which is Coconut milk, galangal, lemongrass, mushroom, onion, and cilantro. Love the fresh garlic with a slight sweetness to it, as well as the thin carrot slices. The member who was taking orders was able to tell me right away whether the dish contained an ingredient that I'm allergic to which I greatly appreciated! Service was quick and efficient, you can sit at the bar or take it to go. All the bright colors reminds me of being in Thailand.

Arrived just as the kitchen was closing. The staff kindly accepted our order. LOVED my pad see ew with crispy duck. Flavorful noodles, vegetables (but not an overwhelming amount--just right), and crispy but not dry duck. Noodles were nice and smooth and flavorful.

Bangkok B.A.R. is inside the Industry City Food Hall. Ordered the Gai Yang "Grilled Chicken" (which is the lemongrass marinated chicken with lettuce chunks over jasmine rice & chili tamarind sauce on the side. Costs $17+ something w/ the tax altogether; reasonable for Industry City. Menus with descriptions of the different dishes on clipboards are placed on the cashier counter. Love all the colorful Thai movie posters as decorations plastered on the wall as I look up to glance at them while digging into my meal. Didn't get to take pics of the movie posters since I'm too busy finishing up my meal before they're closed for the day at 7pm. They close a little too early in my opinion but it's been like that since pandemic times. Staff who work there are friendly, at least the one taking my order at the cashier is. Service is fast also by the way. They accept cash and credit/debit card as payment. Wished they've mentioned/included that the lemongrass chicken is in the form of drumsticks in the menu and not boneless unlike how other restaurants prepare it because the meat is attached to the bone. Can get messy if you don't like to use your hands to eat outside. I like that they don't skimp you on the meat and does actually give lots of meat in the rice platter box to accommodate the hefty price. Meat is tender and tasty. Flavor is a bit salty but it's mostly on the skin, so it should be alright if you don't eat it. It's hard to eat the chicken without using your hands so in the end I did have to use my hands. Luckily, there's a restroom right around the corner to wash my hands. Pretty clean for the most part. Since Industry City is a bit on the farther side of Brooklyn and I don't usually trek down there unless there's something going on like an event, I would still probably visit this Thai eatery the next time I come to this neighborhood. Not too bad of a walk from the D/R/N trains like 7 mins from 4th Ave to 3rd Ave.

Went to this place on a whim walking around Industry City. Very small restaurant that operates more like a "to-go" spot rather than a proper sit-down (despite the seating). Not many stools available on a Saturday afternoon, though things open up quickly as people don't spend a lot of time inside. Order up front first before sitting down. Menu has a handy spice level guide (chili peppers) to determine what to get. Decided on the Crying Tiger ($18), which only had one spicy pepper next to its name. They do not lie here about there, even if it's "dry" heat. The rub on the steak is astonishingly hot, but not overwhelming. Steak is cooked well and plentiful, which is always a plus. Had to get through a few waters and a side of rice ($3) to finish the meal. No frills place that's efficient and tasty. Would recommend if looking for a satisfyingly spicy meal.

OMG. The massaman curry is to die forrrr. The other curry was too spicy for me even though I can handle spice really well. They really have a strong punch of flavor. It's even hard to sit by the kitchen sometimes since it is really strong. Never tried their alcohol but the food is bomb.

Our group of 4 started with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a few appetizers to share, namely: Som tum papaya salad and dumplings curry. For the main entree, my eyes caught the attention of clay pot mix-fried rice with shrimp, chicken, sweet sausage, and my partner chose shrimp pad thai. Nothing really stood out with the dishes; I found it to be a bit Americanized, having eaten in so many Thai restaurants around New York City. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here; our food came in timely fashion, and the customer service is good as well, but it's probably not your place if you are seeking a more authentic Thai-style cooking.

PLEASE get the mango stick rice cocktail omg it was gone in like 5 sips because it was so good. The tuna ceviche was so refreshing and the sauce had a little kick to it which I absolutely loved! It was like a sprinkle of Thai on a classic tuna ceviche. Note the taro chips are a little thicker than a typical chip! The pork jowl wasn't as crispy as I expected but it was still flavorful and the portion size was huge, considering how it was an appetizer. We got pineapple lychee crispy duck, crab fried rice, and kana crispy pork over rice as our entree. ALL WERE SO GOOD! The curry for the pineapple lychee crispy duck was so creamy and flavorful, with the duck portion being huge and being the perfect texture. I loved that it was crispy and didn't get soggy fast in the curry. The crab fried rice was top tier as there were SO MANY HUGE CRAB PIECES!! You can definitely tell that it had flavors of seafood/crab.. they did not skimp out! We ordered quite a bit and honestly, everything was on point: · Lychee Thai Iced Tea & Yuzu Pop - both refreshing and not too sweet (huge plus for me since I don't have a big sweet tooth). · Moo Ping - solid start to the meal. · Salmon Mango (GF) - the salmon was cooked through (which I asked for), and the mango salad underneath was light and tangy. The sweet fruit with the savory fish worked way better than I expected. · Pineapple Fried Rice - came with shrimp, nice wok aroma, and that perfect sweet-tangy pineapple kick. · Pineapple Lychee Crispy Duck (GF) - duck skin was nice and crispy, and the coconut-based sauce with lychee and pineapple kept it from feeling heavy or greasy. · Branzino Chili Lime (GF) - came out piping hot, classic Thai-style sour broth that paired perfectly with the fish. No fishy taste at all, and the texture was tender. Even the drinks and dessert weren't overly sweet, which was a pleasant surprise. Lunch in Brooklyn during in-between meetings of my professional duties of a Wednesday afternoon…read moresummons Thai cuisine. Pad Kee Mao (aka Drunken Noodles), chicken $15.00 Stir-fried flat rice noodle, bamboo shoots, garlic, basil, fresh chili, onion, carrot, string bean, bell pepper, long hot chili The flat rice noodle quantity was sufficient, but minimal and there were too much onion, insufficient string bean, two paucity pieces of carrot. I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. Samyan is a Thai cafe located in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, NYC and accessible via MTA NYC Transit C local train at Clinton-Washington subway station. My partner was running late, and even though the place is clearly very popular right now, they still accommodated us with a table. The staff explained every unfamiliar dish we asked about, always with a smile. I usually avoid the standard NYC Thai restaurant lineup of pad thai + generic curry situations and look for places that feel more regional and authentic. The menu here had a bunch of dishes I didn't recognize, which immediately made me excited. They even have a spice guide though the icons don't necessarily mean increasing spice levels. As I understood it, different symbols represent different types of heat. Three chili emojis and three meteor emojis may be equally spicy, but they hit differently. They recommended not to order the pad krapow nuer, and honestly, fair enough. Instead, we got the chicken khao soi, which was far better than versions I've had elsewhere - deeply flavorful, spicy, rich with umami. My partner was crying. I, meanwhile, was at "this is perfect and I'm having a great time." One Huge chunk of chicken cooked exactly right. Mix everything thoroughly before eating. Then came the kua kling which arrived with another warning. That dish became my personal challenge to impress the server, and apparently I succeeded because now they've promised that next time they won't discourage me from ordering the nuer. They kept refilling cabbage and cucumber for us to cool down from the heat. The kua kling itself was incredible. That dry curry heat was everything. It builds slowly, then suddenly punches you in the face - but alongside all that spice is an insane amount of flavor. They also recommended to order a non-spicy side dish to have a balanced meal and spice level, but we skipped it because it would've been too much food. Honestly, this is the kind of place where going with at least four people is ideal so you can try more dishes and balance the spice levels. And if you're unsure what to order, trust the servers - their recommendations were spot on. Also: really great ciders and beers. We were really happy with both choices. Overall, even though it's far from the city for me, I'd absolutely go back.

The restaurant is tiny, so be sure to make a reservation. As a lover of spicy food, the spiciness in the dishes really brought out such a great flavor. Since my friend didn't eat as spicy, we found a happy medium getting just slightly spicy dishes which were all fantastic. We ordered the Khao Soi ($33) and Pla Tod Nam Pla ($40). The khao soi wasn't too spicy, especially since the broth has a creaminess and the spicies are on the side before mixing, which you can exclude. The chicken was so tender, but did come with bone so this can be trickier to share. Then the pla tod really surprised me, but I can definitely see why it's the best seller. It is a fried branzino with a marinated fish sauce which goes so nicely with all the crunch. There are a few remaining pieces of bone, so be careful. The fish had a nice balance of fish meat and crunchy skin. If you're looking for a unique Thai spot, this is it. Also, perfect spot for spicy lovers too. They also offer a huge selection of alcohol.
