Rice Noodle with Crispy Meat Sauce, Cucumber Salad
    Ingrid H.

Had a lovely and affordable lunch here As others have mentioned, the "Rice noodles with crispy meat sauce" come with a topping of thinly sliced pork intestines. I have never tried this before but was surprised to actually enjoy it. They were surprisingly tender, I think this preparation of the intestines sliced so thinly makes it more palatable to someone who is trying this for the first time. It has a second topping also of crispy pork bits which provided a nice textural contrast. The broth is rich with a shimmering layer of fat on top and the noodles are soft and slippery, carrying much of the savory flavor from the soup. The cucumber salad is well balanced and refreshing. The waitstaff is friendly and speaks English well, they were able to answer any of my questions about the menu and make recommendations. This is a great place for a quick meal.

Absolutely amazing takeout. The people who work here are super nice and remember their regulars. It's a quaint noodle house with room to eat and definitely family owned vibes. The flavor of the soup in the rice noodle bowls are so flavorful and especially the hot and sour soup with the dumplings (which were my favorite dish!) For the rice noodle bowls we got the lamb and the ground beef one. I really enjoy the lamb since I love a good stewed lamb. It's definitely not as tender as you think it is but it's super flavorful and yummy. The texture of the rice noodle is so refreshing and nice to bite. I definitely will be back and cannot recommend this more! The bowls are extremely large portion and worth my money!

Great flavors and portions Tasty noodles with a good kick. They have dry noodles and soup noodles available. Can't go wrong with any of the choices Quick service and friendly staff Inside has a a couple of big tables. You may end up sharing tables with others as they have more big tables than smaller ones

Delicious noodles and cheap eats in sunset park. We tried both their classic soup noodle as well as the dry noodles. We also got the wonton soup as well. It's perfect on a cold rainy day. I personally prefer the dry noodle better. Warning : the portion sizes are huge!

Another hidden spot on the 8th Ave. The inside is clean and spacious. #11 crispy pork noodle is featured on a paper you must try! The dish is pretty authentic and cheap but great. Oh you definitely ask to make it spicy if you like. They can speak English you can ask the questions they are very nice! Also is comes with some cilantros which I love! The traditional rice noodle is like a soft spaghetti. Would love to try the regular noodle or other meal!

This is a cozy little restaurant my bf took me to on Tuesday. Honestly to say when you go inside you think the food wouldn't be up to par but trust me it's worth it coming here. The owner made us some soup made from scratch with his best selling cucumber with chili oil. He was very sweet and the food was amazing. The broth was fresh with fish, beef, cilantro and green onion and paired really well with the cucumber since that was cold. Service was great and Definitely will be a favorite in Chinatown Brooklyn. Will come back :)

I have been hankering for good Yunnan rice noodle for months, and this hole-in-the-wall noodle spot finally indulged my cravings. They really need to hire a better person to translate their menu into English properly... #9 Rice Noodle w/ Lu Mein 滷米線 $8.25 The first one is dry noodle with braised pork and cilantro, and it was right up my alley with its flavorful sauce. Few months ago you def won't catch me eating cilantro, but now I have higher acceptance of its pungent taste. I added some chilli oil yet it wasn't spicy enough and only gave a slight numbing sensation. #11 Rice Noodle w/ Crispy Meat Sauce 脆腸米線 $8.75 The second bowl is rice noodle soup with crispy pork intestine. I don't eat intestines, but my company had high praise on them, saying they were clean and crispy. Their rice noodles were perfectly cooked and carried a bouncy texture. We were surprised that we didn't feel thirsty after slurping the entire bowl, which means their rice noodles weren't salty and didn't have MSG.

Traveled over 1.5 hours to check this spot out and was not disappointed. Got both their lamb and beef crossing the bridge noodles which were so fresh and abundantly flavorful. Was too full to try their dumplings but will have to next time as they also looked so good! The place was packed when we came despite it being a pretty late lunch. The entire time we were there, there was a revolving line of people coming in, waiting to be seated, getting takeout, so you know this place is happening!!! The noodles took maybe 15 or so min to prep given the place was so busy. They give you all the ingredients to mix in separately (meat, veggies, noodle, etc.). The soup then came in a piping hot bowl with waiters bringing them out using rubber gloves. I think you're supposed to add the ingredients in yourself but we looked confused so someone came and helped us - for future reference you add all the meats and veggies and mix and then quickly add in the noodles. Everything was so flavorful and had a strong white pepper flavor. If you're not a fan of pepper maybe get a different noodle but I loved it. Reminded me a bit of pho but I loved it way more (and learned Yunan is near Vietnam haha). It's definitely got hole-in-the-wall vibes and is a no frills spot but they care a lot about their food and it definitely shows. Love love this spot and will definitely be back!

Menu - very focused selection - a great sign!

On a rare occasion we decided to explore the original Brooklyn Chinatown in Sunset Park despite the horrific BQE congestion. After traversing the entire length of 8th Ave within the Chinatown, we ended up here for a light meal. Yunnan is a province in southern China, bordering the Southeast Asian countries. So it's no surprise that its signature noodle dishes are reminiscent of Vietnamese pho. Yep, that's my impression anyway after trying their menu item #1, Crossing The Bridge Rice Noodle $12. It's like pho, the broth is clear but more gingery, the rice noodle is round - not flat, the proteins shredded instead of whole slices. The takeout version came with 2 separate big containers of broth one of which is a souped up chicken broth. I found it quite odd but Not complaining. I think I was supposed to mix them into the same bowl, but I simply dunk rice noodle into one and never get to the second broth as I'd finished the rice noodle. I ended up drinking the second broth on my next meal. Both broth were beyond delicious. The proteins were way too little however. The rice noodle had a unique and intriguing texture. My family also tried #3 - the beef & lamb version of #1 for $2 more, #5 - Rice Noodle with Beef Stew $8.50, and #14 Noodle with Lamb Stew $9.25. They were good. From what I gathered, I would recommend the latter 2 even though they are not their signature soups. They came with noticeably more protein and thus much better value.

Crossing The Bridge Rice Noodles with Beef / Lamb Pieces Rice Stick with Spicy Meat Sauce

A very solid spot with great value for the amount of food you get. The rice noodles had an amazingly bouncy texture, which was a highlight. The broth and meat were decent--not mind-blowing, but satisfying. The pig ears, tongue, ox sinews, and tendon were served with a wonderfully fragrant mala sauce that really stood out. If you decide to try the crossing-the-bridge noodles, I'd recommend sticking with a single meat option--the dual meat upgrade didn't feel worth the extra five dollars for just a few additional pieces.

Been going here for years, since they moved there from down the street. The owner is very nice . The noodles with the meats sauce is excellent. Very tasty.always bring my friends here , all of them love it.didn't try the the new restaurant cross the street yet but going soon

    Crossing the Bridge Noodles
    Pamela L.

The ingredients come on a plate - a quail egg, slices of pork, 4 pieces of black chicken, bean sprouts and dried tofu skins. The cooked noodles are served in a bowl. Then a large bowl of piping hot broth follows. The ingredients are put into the broth bowl. Once the meat is cooked to your liking, then you are ready to eat. It's like eating a bowl of hot pot.

The brown sugar is missing some caramelized flavor. So it is a sweet rice ball. 5/10 I think the temperature inside would be fine if you go during a cool day. When it's a hot day, the restaurant could get very hot even if they turn on both ACs. With just 2 ACs insides, and eating a hot bowl of spicy soup noodle, we were all sweating inside. Though the food is good, I would not return during summertime. It's just too hot to enjoy a good bowl of hot soup noodle.

I also ordered their new dish with has abalone and sea cucumber; this is not part of a set meal. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has that umami sweetness that comes from a great soup base and the noodles are delicious as usual. The abalone was tender, the sea cucumber had a bite to it. There was fish maw and wood ear in there as well.

We walked into a simple, fast casual setup that focuses more on the food than the atmosphere, with a clean, functional space designed for quick meals and takeout rather than lingering. The ordering counter is straightforward, and the staff moves efficiently, keeping the flow moving even during busy lunch periods. The hand pulled noodles are the biggest highlight, with thick, chewy strands that have a satisfying texture and hold onto the sauces well. We ordered a few different noodle dishes, and the flavors leaned bold with chili oil, spices, and savory seasonings that give the dishes their signature Shaanxi style profile. The stewed pork and beef options were both generous and filling, but the lamb dishes stood out with a strong cumin flavor that brought a deeper, more aromatic taste to the table. The lamb burger is another unique item, combining seasoned lamb with a crispy, handheld format that feels different from typical restaurant offerings. The noodles themselves are the main draw, but the lamb burger is worth adding to the order if you want to try something beyond the bowl. Service is quick and efficient, making it a convenient option for lunch or a casual dinner. Portions are generous for the price, and the menu has enough variety to try different dishes across multiple visits. The spice level can be adjusted, but many dishes naturally lean toward bold and spicy flavors, so keeping that in mind is worth it if you prefer milder food. Xi'an Famous Foods is a reliable spot for anyone craving hand pulled noodles and strong, flavorful Chinese dishes. The chewy noodles, cumin lamb, and unique menu items make it stand out from more traditional Chinese restaurants, especially for a quick meal that still feels distinctive and satisfying. It is not a place for a long, leisurely dinner, but for a fast, flavorful bowl of noodles that delivers on texture and spice, it hits the mark well.

It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute.
