I feel like you can't really tell what this place is from the outside, but once inside you'll see it's a mini food court with one food ordering counter, one bar and dessert display up front. For food, we got honey butter french fries, fried dumplings, a soy garlic chicken bulgogi bowl and a spicy chicken bulgogi bowl. French fries were drizzled with honey butter sauce- the flavor combo wasn't my favorite but i can see it going really well with a nice beer :) The fried dumplings were juicy and crispy- not the typical gyoza shaped ones, Bokki's are triangular and made with a wonton wrapper. Fried to crispy perfection, be careful when you bite in- these dumplings are HOT and will shoot out meat juice. Chicken bulgogi bowls were super good- great portions (it was two meals for me!) The bowls are topped with pickled cucumbers, carrots and onions. They help with cutting the heavier taste of the meat. I'll be back to try the fried chicken!

These are the nicest people ever! And the food is cheap and tasty... What more could you really ask for? I'd like some more sauce annnd more saucy sauce options but I'm a weirdo. Great new spot I'm happy is open

I was in the area for Jury Duty which is never fun. I decided to make sure my lunch was interesting though. While the Starbucks and fast food locations nearby were packed, I wanted to try something different. Bokki's menu looked really promising so I walked over to check it out. The door to Bokki is a bit hidden on the side street, and currently under a construction awning. When I opened the door, I was greeted by the owner and could see directly into the kitchen which I thought was so interesting. There's no dine-in here. You place your order for takeout or delivery only. But that's the charm about it, for me. You truly feel like you are in someone's home kitchen. I ordered the Honey Garlic Shrimp Bowl, and in under 10 minutes it was brought out to me by the owner - piping hot and extra fresh. I'm usually not a fan of filling up too much during lunch, but I cleaned this bowl up nicely. Every bite was perfect. I really hope Bokki gets the traction and attention it deserves. The quality here is amazing. Don't skip it.

This place is buried under the scaffolding on pearl street. If it wasn't for yelp I don't think I'd have know aboutit. I decided to give it a try even it looks like the back of the kitchen kinda place based on yelp reviews. There's no much space to stand inside so you order and wait for your food outside, which I don't mind in covid times. The menú is not very extensive. Something I like in small restaurants because you know they specialize of a few things. I ordered the honey garlic shrimps over brown rice. It was delicious and very flavorful. The wait was a bit longer than anticipated so if you can call and order in advance. The owner came out and offered me a mango moctail to apologize for the wait. One drawback I have from this place is portion. The bowl was really small.

2 stars for the honey butter fries. The black pepper garlic chicken was the best flavored (out of the three) but then we found MOLDY chicken pieces and nearly threw up. Waste of money....

Korean shrimp over salad soooo good!

Went here after an event at Trinity Church. It was about an 8 minute walk and worth it. Looks like they are under renovation as they only had to go and two small tables out front. There was not much of a view just across the street from the Brooklyn Friends School ‍. Anyway on to the food. Bangin!! Orrrr we were starving not sure what made it so good. Moderately priced and we had dumplings, fried chicken, shrimp bowl and the garlic butter fries. I was stuffed from picking at that "buffet!" Go here!

I ordered beef bulgogi bowl with salad but got rice. They offer to correct the mistake but I was under a time crunch and hate wasting food. I would consider the potion to be small considering the price. Beef tasted good. Vegetable were not fresh and needs a little seasoning. Rice was cold and a little hard. Ambiance was simply and empty at lunch time. Using a recycle bin as a trash does not scream high class. This place needs work before I can recommend but I'll certainly give them another chance.

Don't let the location fool you. In fact, it gives more meaning to "hole in the wall" vibes with delicious food and a friendly host to match! I ordered the Honey Garlic Shrimp bowl with a mix of brown rice/salad. The shrimp was unexpectedly flavorful and a good balance with the brown rice/salad mix. The wait time wasn't long and I received a complimentary side of kimchee. Unlike most restaurants, their kimchee is fresh! Take my money, Bokki. I'm coming back. Special thanks to those shrimps for sacrificing themselves for my appetite.

Delicious Honey Garlic Shrimp with Brown Rice! Very crispy, hot, and flavorful. The owner was extremely hospitable and friendly. He gave me and my friend free barley drinks that had a hint of watermelon. It was super refreshing, especially on a 95 degree weather day. Definitely recommend coming here!

This place is easy to miss with all the construction going around their restaurant, but don't let that tear you away from how delicious their food is. On top of their "celebrity chef" from Chopped, they have an amazing staff! They serve generous portions for a fair price. And depending on what your order, they usually throw in a sample of their different types of kimchi. If you love Korean comfort food, this is the place to go!

Since I was staying in Brooklyn for work, Haenyeo was an easy choice for a date night dinner. We went on a Thursday evening around 8pm. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately without a wait. The restaurant was fairly busy; if you're planning ahead I would consider making a reservation. We started with an order of the Japchae. Then we ordered the Bibimbop with chicken and the Bulgogi. The Japchae was underwhelming. Not a strong flavor profile, leaned sort of bland. The entrees were much better. The rice in the Bibimbop had a really yummy crispy layer. When all mixed together, it's a great melody of flavors and textures. The Bulgogi was equally enjoyable. Definitely recommend the red spicy sauce it comes with. We shared both entrees among 2 people and felt the portions sizes were decent - neither left hungry. The service was okay. We didn't seem to have a dedicated server. It felt like all the wait staff takes care of everyone simultaneously? Everyone was friendly; there was just a long wait for someone to come for our food order. If you're looking for an authentic experience with Korean food, this may be the spot for you.

Happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised! Almost everything we ordered was delicious! Both Korean Fried Chicken orders had good flavor and great for sharing. I rarely see Soy Ginger as an option (usually it's Soy Garlic) but I like the slight sharpness it added to each bite. The Seafood Pancake was crispy, loaded with seafood, and paired nicely with the ponzu. The Slow Loris Roll was incredible! The rice ratio was just right, there was a good variety of fish and it was all fresh, the avocado and sauces added nice creaminess, and torching the roll was the cherry on top. The Spicy Bulgogi Fried Rice with Cheese was super savory, the sunnyside egg was cooked perfectly, and the portion was solid. I didn't care for the cheese and honestly could've done without and not noticed. It did need something to cut through the richness. I did enjoy the Beef Galbi much more!
