This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. We have ate here for over 6 years. But for the last few months it has took a serious decline. We usually come in during lunch and we always ask for Nichole. She has been there for a very long time. And we have never had a problem with her service. Unfortunately the past 4-6 times we have came in there has always been a problem with the food. The spice level we choose was either to hot or not even put in the dish. Or they dont have something we want. For instance with last week no spring rolls. Which is stated on the menu that it's included with the meal. Nichole always explains and apologizes to us that there is a staff shortage. With a complete look of embarrassment on her face. Well last night we came in. Which we have never come in at night. We saw that Nichole was at the bar. But neither of us drink. And we like to sit in a booth. Big mistake. We sat there for almost 15 mins before our server approached us. Then another person brought us our drinks. Then nearly 45 mins later we get our food delived again yet by another person. And of course the spice was not correct. We didn't complain at that moment because the server did explain the chilis had changed. But we bucked up and braved through it. The problem was our drinks were not being filled. Server after server just walked by us. No one asked how we are doing. My husband got up and went to the rest room. When he came back. He said he saw our server in the little soda area. And she was texting on her phone. So i finally flagged someone down to bring us drink refills. But still our server did not return to the table. Then we asked where the owners are the young lady told us cooking. Then we asked for our check. Again not delivered by our server. At this point we had no idea who was really waiting on us. The check said Jena. We left cash for a tip and only 10%. I used to be a server and I understand that the server has to tip out to hostess, bartender, expediter ect...I'm not saying we won't ever return, but it will be a long time. I would first like to say we still give a five star rating. Do to the fact we love this place. We typically sit it the bar area due to the fact the Bartender gives us the best service. She attends to our every want and need. And we can't not forget Steve the owner takes great pride in running his facility. But our experience this time was not so good. The new Bartender seemed aggravated at the fact he was even there. We couldn't help but over hear him talking to his friends about how slow the bar was, and he just wanted to get out of there to start his Birthday weekend. This made us feel a little unappreciated. For now on when we feel like some Thai food. Which is the freshest in Spartan burg. We will simply ask for our favorite girl. Sit in the dinning room or grab Togo. This place has the BEST Thai food in Spartanburg! The owner, Steven, is so nice! He has a great staff. And the food is ALWAYS good. I have been here at least 30+ times and I have NEVER been disappointed. Try it, you will love it. My recommendations: Go during lunch. They have AMAZING specials. Lunch includes soup and a spring roll and your dish. It is the best deal in town. Try their soup. My favorite is the wonton and the tom yum (chicken). The tom yum has a nice spice to it. When I want something mild so my son can eat a bite, I get the wonton. It is WAY better than the wonton soup you get at chinese restaurants! Get the basil chicken stir fry. Man this place was Incredible. We was having a rough day and was looking for a little comfort . We definitely found it here. Our server Nicole was so nice and took her time explaining the menu and gave some of her favorites as a recommendation. It was our first time so we had a lot of questions. The food was excellent. It's not a combination that's directly available on the website (unable to choose lo mein noodles in lieu of fried rice) but it is available if you put it in the special notes section on the checkout page before submitting. I haven't had takeout in a while but this was incredible. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, and crispy on the outside while still being juicy on the inside. I don't order lo mein often due to have being burned before by takeout spots either from lacking flavor, or being undercooked. These noodles were everything needed for a redemption in my eyes. The egg roll was shockingly large while still being a quality roll. They give you a handful of different sauce packets in the bag with your meal which I would usually gravitate towards as egg rolls can be a bit dry but I found myself not needing anything extra. I will say this place gets bonus points for putting their food in these recyclable(?) non styrofoam containers. A lot more sturdy, a nicer feel and no weird grating sound when your fork hits the bottom of the container grabbing the last couple pieces of chicken. There's no option to eat inside the restaurant, which is fine as it's a takeout restaurant, but just as a heads up for anyone looking for that. Service was quick and easy, able to get in, get the food and head out within a couple minutes.
