Went at lunch time for carry out. Web site does not work so I left pictures of the lunch menu. I ordered the green curry chicken. It was good and the spice level was on point. The parking is a little tough at lunch time but you should definitely give it a try. I'll be back. read more

I like to consider myself an Asian food connoisseur; this may or may not be accurate, but one thing is certain: I LOVE Bangkok. The pad thai and pineapple fried rice are awesome dishes. The spring rolls are crispy and fresh and the paired sauce tastes very upscale. You get huge portions here AND it's BYOB. It's a great place for a date. It's a great place to take a bottle of wine and a couple of good friends. And it's a really great place to take your parents or UT friends when they're visiting and question Waco's cuisine choices. read more

Meh to good. Service was a little slow to start with, but the food was fine. Not amazing, not terrible, but good for Waco. Thom ka soup was good, entrees were fine. I got the cashew dish with pineapple, was a bit too sweet for me and the sauce quite over powering. I think I have a thing for Thai fried rice. No, it's not pad Thai or curry, so feel free to write me off as a non-Thai-purist, or whatever. But I will keep going back for my spicy Thai fried rice until my belly becomes round and I attain total enlightenment. Little tip: I think they don't spice the fried rice normally here, so you have to ask for it. And as always, when you do, ask for the minimum amount of spice, or you will pay the price. Stopped by here while driving back from Austin. Nice decor and friendly staff, the food was also pretty nice. Not the most original Thai, but definitely tasty. I had one of the noodles (I believe it was the somewhat thick ones) and it was pretty tasty. The fried rice was great! Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. read more

But, must say that the service, although prompt enough away from lunch hour, is borderline nasty / unfriendly at times -- a net negative for the place, but not enough to keep me away but it does, at times, detract from the experience. read more

Food and service are both great. When I was a freshman, the restaurant use to be located right across Baylor. The portions then were much bigger and a little cheaper. The atmosphere is nicely decorated, and their food is just yummmmo~ If you like curry, this is one place you gotta stop! read more

This place is a must for Waco, considering the "best" alternative is Pei Wei. You're better off driving an hour and a half in either direction on I-35 if you want something better. Me and my wife were on a road trip. Probably wasn't a good idea to stop here when we had a time schedule. But here goes the review. We sat at the table we were assigned for 20 min. Given this was Friday during peak, so service is kinda busy. We can understand that. It took them another 10 min after we started seeking eye contact to grab someone's attention. Waitress takes our orders. We order our food and 2 Thai Ice Teas. We tell our waitress we are in a bit of a hurry so give us the check as the food comes. We wait another 30 more minutes and call it then and there. We rush up to the counter, pay for our teas and book it. It would have been nice to actually taste the food, but when you keep expressing your in a hurry and they make you wait for an hour with no communication, I'm sorry but that's plain horrible service. The only time we ever saw the waiter/waitress was when we were led to our table and when she took the order. I can see why there are so many negatives reviews about the service here. You can't just hire college kids off the streets and expect them to actually serve people. Please hire those that are willing to work with customers, or those that are experienced enough to train others. Thank you. read more

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Once you walk in, this place is very nice and modern inside. It was about 1:30 and it looked like the ending lunch crowd was still lingering. I was seated immediately. Ordered my standard Thai fare for the first visit, yellow curry with tofu. When it arrived I was pleased with the presentation. The portion could have been just a bit more, even for lunch. The quality of the curry and tofu were both good. I was pleased and will certainly return. It's not too far off I-35. read more

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Waco. The food is consistently good and I have worked my way through nearly all of the menu without any bad dishes. Ask for the "beef salad" for your entree, it comes with rice and when eaten together it tastes AMAZING. The service is a little slow and probably deserves 4 stars instead but I've used that to my advantage for date nights with my wife, business meetings or interview dinners. read more

We travel often between Dallas and Austin and now have family at Baylor. We checked this place out on our way home because we were in the mood for Thai and it is not far from 35. Bangkok Royal was a surprisingly good experience! I had the Pad Thai and my husband had the Pad Kana- both delicious! The spring rolls were also very good and fresh. The service was a bit slower than we would have liked, but probably because we walked in with several other groups at the same time. Te atmosphere was good as we're the prices. We've frequented Bangkok Royal since they were located on the other side of I-35, probably 12 years ago, and have always had positive experiences with the staff, restaurant and food. The Chang Mai Garlic with beef or the Pad Khana are my favorites (try for at least a couple stars). Now that I've moved away from Waco, I try to make a point of visiting whenever I'm back in town. Royal Bangkok Thai is a great restaurant for the Waco community. It's fancy enough to bring a job candidate, cozy enough for a date, and big enough for a large group. Tonight I brought a group of honor students for an induction dinner. We got a nice long table in a quiet corner, cheerful service, all meals delivered at the same time, and it cost less than $20 per person. The food is consistently good. Tonight I tried the Phuket Delight (#50), which has a variety of seafood and vegetables in a mildly spicy sauce. The scallops, mussels, squid and shrimp were all cooked well. For my surprise, it was really really good! The curry was full of flavor and the coconut sauce didn't overwhelm the curry flavor, I give that dish 8 out of 10. We have been here on multiple occasions and I have enjoyed it each time. The ginger chicken soup/ chili sauce is so good. When dining in you get a choice of soup or salad, trust me pick the soup the salad will disappoint you. I still have my favorite dish which is the Bangkok noddles w/tofu, but this time I tried the Pad Kee Mao w/tofu and it was really good the only difference I seen in the two dishes was it came spicy versus me always adding spice, and the noodles are different. My co worker had the Bangkok cashew w/tofu and she really enjoyed it also. read more

Came to Waco for a short girls trip. We were surprised that everything (literally EVERYTHING) closes at 6! Luckily yelp helped us find this gem that is open until 9. That place was more busy than I thought it would be, but still not overcrowded. Ordered water and spring rolls to start with. Te spring rolls were pretty good nothing to complain about. Since I am an Indian fanatic, I asked my waitress what would be about the equivalent to Tikki Masala, she advised me to order the Yellow Curry which I did. It came out with a side of rice. The dish had a lot of potatoes and and onions in it and very small portion if chicken in the whole thing. Over I give it 2 stars just cause it was bland and not enough food for the price. The Tom Kha Kai was delicious, and I enjoyed my green curry as much as my boyfriend enjoyed his Pad Kee Mow.
