I had my tires delivered from tirebuyer.com and the delivery process started off okay…read more I knew I needed an alignment when I got my tires put on, that's why I needed new tires in the first place. I told them that I was on a budget when I got there and they didn't want to work with me much, they made it sound good by saying they would check my allignment, and we could go from there. They proceeded to charge me to check the alignment, said that I needed a cam bolt ordered and installed in order to align the rear tires....I told them to hold off, I'd see if my dad could order and install the parts because he is a mechanic. I took my vehicle over to my dad's garage and the rear camera bolts hadn't even been touched (those are the parts that came stock on the vehicle that Bangor Auto & Truck said I needed to order and install) I was so embarrassed, and pissed because they made a fool out of me because I didn't know any better. I then proceeded to drive even further on my new, unaligned tires another 35 minutes both ways to my uncle's shop, who I know and trust and should have gone in the first place, Autoworks in Eddington. They did the allignment just fine with no additional parts or labor. Bottom line, Bangor Auto & Truck lied to my face, tried to take advantage of me, and I will tell as many people as I can about it because I don't want anyone else to have to buy parts that they don't need, or pay for unnecessary labor. I don't know how they are still in business. They are crooks, lier's and shouldn't be a deliveey option on tirebuyer.com Don't do it!

I even called again on Wednesday and was assured once again it would be done by Friday as my family and I were flying out of town and absolutely needed it back the next Monday. So... fast forward to Monday the return of our trip, my wife and I, 3 kids and 6 bags of luggage land back in Bangor. Upon landing I call... no answer. Call again, no answer. Again, no answer. So, we figure maybe they are busy and cram the 5 of us and 6 bags into an UberXL and head over to try to reach them that way. No one there. At all. Lights off, no one home. Luckily we had the Uber driver wait so she took us to Dysarts to eat. I called. No answer. Tried alternate numbers. Nothing. As we were supposed to be heading out to Sugarloaf for the week I had to rent a car at $120/day. Well, because of the late start and the storm that rolled in, the roads were washed out, so we overnighted in our seasonal camp in 24 degree weather. I stayed up all night feeding the fire so the others could sleep. By morning I was not a "happy camper"! I called mid morning and they answer telling me they were sick. (Please note the other google review given the same excuse, take from that what you will.) I tell them I am 2 hours away at sugarloaf will it be ready by 12:30? Otherwise I have to pay another day for the rental car. "No, end of day." I don't even bother asking the obvious question on why it wasn't already finished. One more night in our 20 degree cabin one more night without sleep. One more $120 rental car. Wednesday comes, at least the roads to sugarloaf are open so I take my family to the warmth and showers of where we were supposed to be staying. I call on the way once again to see if it would be finished by 12:30 or if I need to once again pay for another day of rental car. Guess what? Nope. Not gonna be finished. End of day they tell me once again. So Thursday comes it's finally finished. So, as my family enjoys their day on the slopes, my non-refundable lift ticket goes unused. I head over to drop off the rental car and Uber over to SilverFox. I ask them if they could apply the 10% discount they advertise on their website for a good review. (The mechanic did a good job was thorough and very nice). Todd the owner replies "You can use that on your next visit." Hahaha ya okay Todd, after: $500 for rental car $200 in extra Ubers $150 lift ticket $XXX.XX for staying awake 2 nights stuck in our 20 degree camp -- you can't even do 10% off? Not a Foxing chance buddy. So here's the full review. -20 stars if I could.

They cost a little more than some other local places, but it's worth it in peace-of-mind, great service, and the fact that they stand behind their work. My only minor complaint would be that sometimes the repairs seem to take awhile, so make sure to ask if the repair will take longer than a day.

Upon the garage inspection they informed me of a few problems resulting in inspection failure, including an exhaust manifold leak, ABS system failure, noise from my rear left tire, and a loose head light. I asked for a quote on the exhaust manifold leak, and was told "At least $700 for the part not including labor". Apparently the shop did not know I was a USCG licensed Marine Engineer. I did not have time to do the work myself, and brought the car to another mechanic. There was no exhaust leak, he fixed the head light and ABS system, and slapped on a new inspection sticker for $100. DO NOT proceed with repairs from this garage unless you have the mechanical aptitude to realize that what they are charging is or is not fair. What a scam.

    The Shop Inc

    The Shop Inc

Webb's RV Center--…read more It is very disappointing having to write this review because everyone at The Shop, Inc. has been professional and responsive. Ryan, the service manager of The Shop, Inc., is fantastic. This review has to do with Frankie, the owner of The Shop, Inc.'s inability to accept that he made a mistake diagnosing a vehicle, causing further damage. We bought a 2020 Hyundai Kona at auction with known engine problems. We called The Shop, Inc. because the vehicle had a rattling noise when the motor started. When we drove the vehicle to the shop, we explicitly told Frankie to do whatever it takes to fix the vehicle. Once we brought him the vehicle, he proceeded to diagnose it, saying it needed a timing chain. It did not; it needed a motor. This is where the problem starts with Frankie. We were asked to go to The Shop, Inc. to inspect the vehicle after Frankie claimed the work was done and the bill was due. Upon inspecting the vehicle after the timing chain was installed and being charged over $3,000.00 worth of parts and labor, the vehicle was started to test the motor. Upon starting the vehicle, it was apparent the rattling noise was still occurring. To document this, a phone recording was started to record the noise of the motor. Within four seconds, the vehicle was heard misfiring and then the motor proceeded to blow altogether. When we brought our concern to Frankie, he made a comment saying, "Do you want me to work for free?", and would not budge at all on the bill. We brought him a running vehicle and he left it for us to pick up with a tow truck, along with the existing problem still at hand: the vehicle needs a new motor. It is very disappointing that after sending him other jobs and referring multiple people each week to his shop from our dealership, this is how we are treated. More than likely, Frankie will respond back to this review, and he will say his scan tool had code # P0017. He will say the timing chain was loose and even go as far to say that his work didn't cause the motor to blow. What he will not do is admit that he was explicitly told to put a motor in the vehicle if it needed one. We wasted more than just $3,000.00 in parts and labor; we wasted our time in putting trust in Frankie and The Shop, Inc. by bringing him the vehicle in the first place. Ultimately, Frankie should have dug deeper into the vehicle, more than just reading off his scan tool. Webb's RV Center would have paid a steep diagnostic fee if that's what it would have taken to figure out what was truly wrong with the vehicle, like I told him preemptively. So no, Frankie I do not want you to work for free, as you asked me before. I want you to understand that we put trust in you and your team to fix a vehicle. When the work you completed did not fix the vehicle, and in fact made it 10x worse, you REFUSED to do anything. We paid the bill, and we were respectful to you during all of this. You will never hear from us again and we will never send another customer to you.

Toyota claims the ATF need not be serviced for the lifetime of the transmission (whatever that means!), but common sense and experience says otherwise. Replacing the ATF is not intuitive nor easily accomplished on these sealed Toyota transmissions, so I chose Harold's to perform this crucial service. Rob assured me they were quite familiar with these sealed transmissions. They performed a complete ATF replacement including dropping the pan and replacing the filter/screen for a reasonable price (much cheaper than Downeast Toyota!). Unfortunately I soon discovered my car's transmission was leaking from the drain pan seal soon after service. Apparently the new drain pan gasket was incorrectly installed, causing the slow drippy leak. Upon this discovery, I immediately contacted Harold's. They were extremely concerned, apologized and scheduled me to come in immediately. They quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the gasket, properly adding additional Toyota ATF (btw don't use anything but Toyota branded ATF on these transmissions!). This corrective service was performed to my satisfaction quickly and at no additional charge (except for my precious time). Despite this problem, which could have been worse had I not discovered the leaky seal soon at my car's required annual inspection, I will return to Harold's for subsequent drain and fill of my car's ATF or other transmission service. Sometimes mistakes happen, but in this case Harold's provided a quick effective remedy without hassle. My car shifts soo smoothly now - like a new car! Harold's is apparently the go-to transmission repair shop in this area, and I will continue to patronize them for any and all transmission work on my vehicles. I'd give them 5 stars if it hadn't been for the leaking gasket.
