Amazing pho

Amazing food! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service and very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend the tea as well. Kumquat is grand on chilling day after a long flight. Clean plate club for both of our thoughts

Outstanding Pho joint... We've been here a few have times now, and have been to the family's downtown location... Both are amazing, but the customer service at Banh Mi Barista so much better. The owner is super friendly and makes everyone feel welcomed as soon as they walk-in and always says "goodbye" and "thank you." It's a small place, but nicely setup and very clean. As for the food... Awesome Pho and their Korean banh mi sandwich is absolutely next level - So good. We'll continue to frequent, because there's nothing to not dislike about Banh Mi Barista - Two thumbs up.

Korean barbecue banh mi

I love their Korean barbecue sandwich. The flavors were on point, with the sweetness of the barbecue sauce perfectly complementing the savory fillings. It was exactly the kind of sweetness I love, without being overwhelming. Although the second time I went and got the same thing, a few pieces of my meat was burnt.

I'll be the first to admit that I know practically nothing when it comes to Vietnamese food, but man am I obsessed now! This shop is tucked in a tiny strip and easy to miss, but offers both dine in and carry out options. I decided on the Viet special Bahn Mi and it packed SO much flavor. The meat was seasoned so well and the fresh veggies piled on the sandwich were the perfect compliment! Definitely ask for the fresh sliced jalapeños and snag one of the dozens of milk tea or bubble tea options to go with it.

Not a lot of parking but I love this little hidden gem. One of the Best Pho in the Fort. And for $11.00 you get a huge bowl of Pho! Every food item on there menu is super delicious!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]You get a Kind of diner feel when you enter and the staff are friendly and helpful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Frontage of building a outdoor seating

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Private parking lot with about 4 tables of outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though it's located on coldwater road the noise from the traffic wasn't that bad.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Went inside to order and since I hadn't been there before I asked them what Bahn mi was the best they suggested the double pork one. I opted for that one and make it spicy without the carrots. I also ordered with it the summer rolls which should have had shrimp and pork. We sat down and they delivered the food to our table very quickly along with siracha sauce and houisen sauce. Upon looking at my sandwich and comparing it to my friends sandwich I noticed that hers was stuffed with ingredients I did have, we ordered the same thing, including the jalapeños to make it spicy. So I took it back in and the persons who prepared it admitted she didn't add anything because it said no carrots she thought it meant no veggies just meat. After they fixed it and I aWhen I looked at it more closely and I ate a few bites I noticed it was only one pork on it. I took it back again and they said they forgot the second pork. So they gave it to me on the side. So far not impressed. After I finally got it assembled the way it should have came it was a disappointment. The pork was tough and chewy and overcooked. It didn't have any flavor and the only spice that came from it was siracha sauce that I applied to it. For a better bahn mi I'd rather have gone to my favorite Vietnamese Place. The same rang true of the summer roll. After I took out the massive pile of carrots all it had was leaf lettuce and shrimp. Zero pork or Noodles or cucumber. Again better at the other place. It came with a sweet dipping sauce which was decent. It was also more expensive than my other spot I eat at usually but it's always nice to try new places and locally owned. They were very busy with carry out orders and dine in eaters. I can't say it was the worst place I've eaten at and the food looked way better than it tasted. Would I go again? Prob not. Wo up of I recommend it, of course cause I think we should try new to us local places when we have a chance. We may end up loving it. Employees were friendly and accommodating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was decently clean but small with just anger tables to dine in and eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small counter to order from that is packed with trinkets and we had to ask for silverware.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Food came out on paper plates and were given plastic eatery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We didn't get checked on since we sat outside and we didn't get refills on our drinks. Very limited menu.

Vietnamese sandwich, spring rolls, passion fruit bubble tea

WOW I wish I lived closer to this place! I've been trying to convince my gf to like bubble tea and this is the place that finally did it. I got her passion fruit with mango boba and now she's hooked! It feels like primarily a bubble tea shop with how customizable their teas are but they also make a delicious sandwich.

Shrimp Spring roll

I got a Vietnamese salad, shrimp spring roles and milk tea with popping boba!!! It was delicious and well prepared! I asked for only shrimp and no pork. They did as I asked and the peanut sauce the spring rolls is so good. I don't know if the sauce is made in house but it taste like it is. The milk tea is always good and their salads never disappoint. Definitely a great place and every time I come back it is good.

I've wanted to try the Hainan House for years. I've read their good reviews and made it a must…read moretry. I will say that these reviews led me to believe that the Hainan House provided a premium-gourmet product like Han Dynasty and Wu's Chinese. Hainan isn't in that top tier where the product WOWS you. But rather, Hainan is in that next tier down where some things are better than others. I ordered take out versus dinning in. The two elderly employees I interfaced with were very kind and helpful. The facility is easy to find as it is in the same complex as The Clyde. The building is older, in good repair and nicely decorated with Chinese decor (see pictures). Parking surrounds the building in an awkward manner - you will figure it out. The menu is very large (see pictures) as it is at most Chinese restaurants. Prices were fairly reasonable. My order was prepared quickly..so no waiting! The fried pot stickers were fairly standard compared with other Chinese restaurants. Not over cooked. Slightly oily. Tender wrapper and pork insides. It came with a dip that added flavor and moisture. The General Tso's sauce was very tasty. It was moderately thick, slightly sweet, a little spicy and stuck to the breading nicely. Nice taste without being sappy sweet or spicy hot! The chicken pieces were larger than bite size. This made it difficult to eat as I had to cut each piece into small enough pieces to eat with the rice. I found the chicken to be somewhat over cooked and slightly tough. The breading was thick and absorbed the seasoned sauce taste perfectly. The Happy Family sauce was very bland. It coated the meat and vegetables nicely keeping them moist. However it really didn't do much to accent these items. The vegetables were nicely cooked with a slight crisp. I was disappointed in the amount of meat placed in this dish. It felt like I was lucky to get more than one piece of each seafood item. These meats were cooked to expectation - moist and tender. Overall this dish was bland and didn't impress. The white rice was cooked to expectation. Slightly moist. It was easy to pick up with the entree bites. Overall, make sure you understand the product you are getting. I expected a premium product which disappointed me. I might have a different rating if I dined in and selected items that fit the "next tier" level of taste.

There was one older woman at the cash register who was to seat guests, take money, get the to orders taken care of and answer the phone. The latter due to the volume of takeout orders took precedence over seating people standing in line who were ignored and there were empty tables. After almost 40 minutes of standing and a group of 8 who had reservations that the restaurant wasn't set up for-it was a mess and a bad experience for them...we were seated. We weren't waited on for awhile as there were only two people waiting tables bringing out one dish at a time to the tables. They put out a bowl of rice that sat before their food came. Customers were angry and two stood and complained loudly at the service...a woman waiting for carry out was there for two hours! We received our bland food, cold appetizers after 8pm. Some customers waited and then got up and left before their meals arrived. They ended up setting the party of 8 by the entrance door and bathroom...I'm not sure if my family would be returning or not when they are empty of customers. Our waiter kept complaining that the customers were complaining to us...
