Had to add a rib from costco because they barely gave me any meat.

Was very optimistic this place would be good but the sauce and quality of food wasn't there. The fresh roll wasn't fresh and the peanut sauce tasted like water. The pork noodle salad had barely any pork that I had to add the leftover ribs I had from costco. Definitely not worth it.

What I got, very decently priced and the portions very big.

Have been trying to go here the last few weeks, the first time the restaurant was packed, earlier this week was closed for vacation (we all need those), today I understand why it was packed my first time I went. All the staff was very friendly. The food was amazing and they have such a large selection of things to try from there menu. The inside was clean and dinner style when you first enter then they have other rooms that are more restaurant mom and pop type place.

It's been a while since I had Vietnamese food and this restaurant reminded me of how much I missed it. The spring rolls were served very quickly and tasted great! The pho was delicious- flavorful broth, good amount of meat, etc. It was also my friend's first time eating pho and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well. On the side, my friend and I shared a Vietnamese coffee which was another great choice since we had a long road trip ahead of us. The servers were fast and friendly which made our dining experience even better. Will be coming back if I ever swing by Fort Wayne again.

Food was okay; wonton soup was not the best tasting. I'll give this one another chance in the future. Service and space was amazing though.

It was a chilly Friday and all four of us were off work and school. We needed some warm lunch and a big bowl of Pho was just the thing. The tables were spread apart and they were taking every precaution to keep customers safe. The warm egg rolls were spot on and will be some of the best you ever taste. The menu is gigantic with several different varieties for every tastebud. The broth always makes the Pho dish and Saigon's is one of the best. Nice amounts of bean sprouts, limes and jalapenos were offered on the side. Great local "dive" for when you're downtown and there is a chill in the air.

Restaurant review FORT WAYNE BEST: VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT I had tempered my expectations after another experience at a different Vietnamese restaurant that had rave reviews on Yelp, but I was not disappointed. This is a traditional hole in the wall restaurant with great authentic Vietnamese food. I was surprised how friendly the staff was when we came in with a large group, they quickly rearranged two tables to sit our larger party. The server was quite friendly and took our menu orders without any problems. Food was served promptly and most of all the Pho soup was amazing. Clear, complex, and not too salty or sweet. It did not seem to be flavored by MSG soup mix where you leave feeling super thirsty. My number 13 pho had eye round steak, well done flank, fat brisket, and tender tripe was simply amazing with the right balance of protein and noodles. The noodles themselves were cooked well without being congealed into one brick and I drank every last drop of the soup. To top off my meal, I had the Vietnamese sweeten ice coffee, I made sure to ask if it came in a can and they told me it was fresh drip-brew. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was brought to the table still dripping. My only problem was getting it into the other cup of ice. I can't even describe in words how amazing the taste of the coffee! Pros: friendly staff, amazing pho broth, fresh ingredients Cons: bathrooms that are not so clean, street parking limited Hidden deals: None

The decor is typical 60s Chinese restaurant with red lanterns and murals, but it does have a great fish tank in the center. The staff are all super friendly. You will find the typical menu items but prepared better than you've had before. All the meals come with soup, both the egg drop and tomato beef choices are very good. I'm always here with my family and we finally learned to order a few entree's and a few appetizers because we usually ended up with far too much food. Some menu highlights are the General Tsao chicken, the pineapple chicken, the crispy rice soup for two is excellent. They also offer Vietnamese selections, several varieties of Pho, and pan fried noodles. If you're ever in Fort Wayne I highly recommend you stop in.

I will say that these reviews led me to believe that the Hainan House provided a premium-gourmet product like Han Dynasty and Wu's Chinese. Hainan isn't in that top tier where the product WOWS you. But rather, Hainan is in that next tier down where some things are better than others. I ordered take out versus dinning in. The two elderly employees I interfaced with were very kind and helpful. The facility is easy to find as it is in the same complex as The Clyde. The building is older, in good repair and nicely decorated with Chinese decor (see pictures). Parking surrounds the building in an awkward manner - you will figure it out. The menu is very large (see pictures) as it is at most Chinese restaurants. Prices were fairly reasonable. My order was prepared quickly..so no waiting! The fried pot stickers were fairly standard compared with other Chinese restaurants. Not over cooked. Slightly oily. Tender wrapper and pork insides. It came with a dip that added flavor and moisture. The General Tso's sauce was very tasty. It was moderately thick, slightly sweet, a little spicy and stuck to the breading nicely. Nice taste without being sappy sweet or spicy hot! The chicken pieces were larger than bite size. This made it difficult to eat as I had to cut each piece into small enough pieces to eat with the rice. I found the chicken to be somewhat over cooked and slightly tough. The breading was thick and absorbed the seasoned sauce taste perfectly. The Happy Family sauce was very bland. It coated the meat and vegetables nicely keeping them moist. However it really didn't do much to accent these items. The vegetables were nicely cooked with a slight crisp. I was disappointed in the amount of meat placed in this dish. It felt like I was lucky to get more than one piece of each seafood item. These meats were cooked to expectation - moist and tender. Overall this dish was bland and didn't impress. The white rice was cooked to expectation. Slightly moist. It was easy to pick up with the entree bites. Overall, make sure you understand the product you are getting. I expected a premium product which disappointed me. I might have a different rating if I dined in and selected items that fit the "next tier" level of taste.

We looked up all the boba shops around, not expecting to find too much in the area, when we came upon Hoshi Hoshi. As soon as we saw "Mango Sticky Rice Frappe," we knew we had to go. It's great to see a really creative boba shop in Fort Wayne, especially one that (I think) is Thai owned, which is a big departure from the mostly Vietnamese, Chinese, and Taiwanese owned shops through the US. When we first walked in on a early weekend afternoon, there were no other customers in the shop, but as we waited for our drinks, more and more people started walking in until the place was completely full. I'm glad we were at the start of the rush rather than during it! Milk Tea, 50% Sweet w/ Boba ($6.95) - Toppings are $1 each which is kind of on the expensive side. The tea is pretty good for this type of drink, mellow with perfect sweetness at 50%. The boba is a bit too soft, resulting in a disintegrating exterior that's rough and craggy. The bubbles are quite uniformly chewy throughout and resemble more of a jelly than typical tapioca balls. (3/5) Mango Sticky Rice Frappe w/ Jelly Mango ($9.95) - This drink consists of a mango and cream smoothie topped with sweet coconut infused sticky rice, diced mango, and a salty cream cheese topping. The drink is like a creamsicle leaning more towards the mango flavor instead of the cream flavor. The mango jelly sinks to the bottom of the drink, allowing you to get a piece every couple of sips. I was kind of nervous that if the rice was intermixed with the ice that it would be hard and gross, but thankfully they constructed this drink pretty well. Super delicious overall. (5/5) There was one puzzling thing - the barista asked us if we were okay with Jelly Mango in the drink and when we asked if it was included she said yes. Then she went ahead and charged an extra dollar for the topping. Either that, or the drink is not labeled corrected in the menu at $8.95. Bizarre in either case. Bathrooms: None that are customer accessible. I was really surprised by Hoshi Hoshi. I didn't expect to see this kind of place in Fort Wayne. This is a definite visit next time we are in the area.
