This place offers a lot of different options. Everything from sandwiches, soups, drinks, snacks, hot egg rolls and more. There are even a lot of fresh made, packaged items that you can grab and go. We came for the banh mi sandwiches but ended up loving the fried egg rolls even more. We were greeted by friendly staff who took our sandwich orders and made them very quickly. We chose a bbq pork banh mi and a chicken banh mi. Both were very good. Crunchy crusted and soft inside bread. Nicely seasoned meats. Tasty pickled veggies. We also grabbed a couple of fried egg rolls from the hot case. Those were delicious! It's nicely organized to accommodate all that's displayed but there isn't much for seating available. Really it's just 1 two seater table. I would consider it more of a to go cafe. Since it's located in a large shopping center there is plenty of easy parking. BMF is a sister restaurant to Binh Minh Sandwiches, which IYKYK is the absolute best (and underrated) traditional banh mi in Portland. What really sets Banh Mi Fresh and Binh Minh from all the other banh mi shops is how perfect their bread/baguette is. While they both look the same, a Viet baguette is actually different from a French baguette. The Viet one has been adapted from the French version to be lighter with a crispier crust, while the French version has a thicker and crunchier crust. BMF's baguette takes the classic elements of a Viet baguette and maximizes every element relative to every banh mi shop with the exception of their sister restaurant. *Crisp crust *Flakey crust *Lightness *Pillowly soft interior *Satisfying mouth feel Their bread is either in the top tier or in the S tier (stands alone by itself in Portland) in each of these categories. BMF has a wide variety of items for sale akin to a small convenience store with a large selection of refrigerated sodas and Asian drinks, housemade Viet meat pies called Pate Chaud (fantastic!), egg rolls, various Viet pastries, desserts, snacks, and pantry staples. I also ordered an avocado smoothie aka Sinh To Bo and it was thick, and perfectly sweet and satisfying while "healthier" than a boba tea I bet, or at least that's what I will tell myself. In an age where all things avocados are so trendy and sought after, I really believe that the Viet Avocado Smoothie is really slept on and should be on your bucket list at any Viet restaurant, and you can't go wrong ordering it here at Banh Mi Fresh. read more

This strip mall Vietnamese place is one of the best and offers a good variety of other Viet foods as you can see in the various pictures that others have posted. Of course that meant I spent a lot more then I planned when I just came in for Bahn Mi. I was feeding a crowd so got 4 different kinds and they were all excellent and price was spot on. The best thing I had was the egg rolls, very meaty with hardly any filler. I was not expecting such a good roll for only 1.25 and regret not buying them all. I feel it is very easy to get subpar rolls so I can be a bit cautious when trying a new place. I am looking forward to coming back. Place is small so most people get food to go. read more

My husband and I came here around 6pm. I've always wanted to try this place and heard good things. I ordered number 1(7.00) and he ordered the beef stew ($13.00) We got home and my sandwich had barely anything inside. The bread was old to touch by holding it. I figured inside will be better but it was even sadder. I should have taken a pic but there wasn't any veggies some green stuff that I questioned if it was a jalapeno or not.... No carrots or daikon, no big slices of jalapenos. I figured it was late and ran out of ingredients because mine definitely didn't look like other people's reviews.. The beef stew came with a baguette. Cost $13. It was salty barely any meat. They didn't include any cilantro, carrots or jalapenos... wasn't worth the price. The best baguette tastes better and is half the price. My husband also threw my sandwich and his loaf in the oven to toast up and it became so much better. I wouldn't eat this without going home and toasting it... I wouldn't come back here. Maybe for the drinks, which I haven't tried yet. The ratio of bread to filling is perfect. Usually my go to is usually banh mi dac biet, but the grill pork banh mi was the best out of ones I tried. If you are looking for a savory drink and enjoy coconut or taro, try the Pandan milk! I've been here twice within the past couple of weeks, and plan to be back in the future. We love Banh Mi fresh for their banh mi (the special and the xiu mai are our two favorites), their pâté chaud (meat pie) and also their pandan Vietnamese honeycomb cake! Always looking for good salad rolls, I came across this place while in the area visiting Penzey's and Michaels. When I stepped up to the counter and asked if they had salad rolls, I was greeted by the biggest smile and a "I just made some!" from the woman behind the counter. I ordered a Thai iced tea to go with them and left with the freshest salad rolls I've had in a long time. #ThankYouThursday Happy Thanksgiving Day here at Portland, staying at hotel nearby and it was already after 1pm, deciding on where to eat that's opened, no luck since most of businesses were closed, Even fast food biz! There are lots of goodies here besides Banh Mi, at Banh Mi Fresh, mochi rice, drinks, Vietnamese desserts, bao, groceries & snacks. We got the combination Banh Mi, Bao, Spring rolls, Vietnamese Ice coffee with condense milk, total spent $15.50, Wow, so Cheap! $5.50 for combo Banh mi, its around $10. back on Oahu! I could taste the the bread so fresh & freshness from the ingredients. The bread from the Bao is so soft, I miss eating these! The spring rolls were a little oily and missing a dipping sauce. The coffee was very nice and strong! For sweets we got honeycomb pandan desserts. Needed something sweet, I love Pandan so this hit the spot! There are 2 tables at Banh Mi Fresh, which was perfect to enjoy our meals. I noticed there were lots of walk in customers, this place is getting popular since they just opened. Just moved here from Las Vegas, I was instantly concerned about where to get fresh authentic Banh Mi. I was fortunate enough to move to the Happy Valley area of Clackamas and found Banh Mi Fresh! I have been waiting for this establishment to open for quite some time and finally gotten the opportunity to try it out. The owners are super kind and friendly. They are able to answer any questions you have and explain what ingredients are inside the sandwiches. The prices for sandwiches are slightly higher compare to other banh mi shops. The amount of stuffing is very minimal and extremely thin. The bread is smaller compare to others. I like the fact it was not crumbly compare to most banh mi breads. I also tried their pate chaud. Banh Mi Fresh is owned by a mother and daughter and we had the privilege to speak to them in order to find this out! When we first arrived to the store, it was on a whim because we live nearby and wanted to try some place new. They definitely supply more than just banh mi's and I found it super exciting. They offer other entrees, Asian snacks, desserts, drinks, etc. We personally enjoy the #1 and #5 banh mi's, but I definitely want to be back to try their other entrees! Every time we stop in, we grab a dessert offered on their front counter. Amazing banh mi spot in Portland! I rarely go to this side of Portland for Vietnamese food, but after seeing it on Yelp and being in the area, I decided to give it a try. The inside of the shop is pretty small, but there's some seating. They sell a variety of Vietnamese snacks (both packaged and made in-house), drinks, desserts, and (of course) banh mi. They've had one of the best and biggest variety of banh mi that I've seen and from the ones I've tried, they've all been amazing. The bread is warm, proteins are delicious, and the veggies are fresh. I ordered a banh mi dac biet which was $5.50. The cashier was friendly and chatted with my mom for a while too. They add pickled daikon, radish, cilantro, and cucumber, then they toast the sandwich after you order, so it comes out hot. This place bakes their bread with a light coat of butter that keeps the crust soft but still crispy. Not roof-shatteringly dry. They also have a bunch of canned drinks, including Sting, Foco brand nectars, and everyday soft drinks. They sell homemade egg rolls, flan, banh pate so, banh tet/banh chung, iced coffee, milk tea, sugarcane juice, and more.
