Adj: Lackluster First time trying Banh Mi House for take out since there's no dining in, and unfortunately, it was quite mediocre and definitely nothing to write home about. We got a few spring rolls, as well as a grilled chicken and a grilled pork and split them so we can all try both flavors. First off, the spring rolls were flavorless, so it needed a ton of the sauce which was ok, but even the sauce lacked flavor, it had some taste to it, but no depth if that makes sense, so that was disappointing. Next I tried the grilled pork and it was dry, the sauce used was pretty good, some kind of BBQ sauce, but I tasted almost no butter on the bread and no pate at all. Not sure if that's how the grilled meats banh mi's are supposed to be (no pate). The bread overwhelmed the sandwich, there was quite a bit of veggies and a respectable amounts of meat, but the bread was just huge in comparison to the fillings and it was kind of hard and didn't seem all that fresh. Maybe fresh from the morning, but been sitting out. We got this in the early evening for dinner, so they were kind of hard. Mostly I noticed the lack of pate. Main issue w/this banh mi was that the grilled pork was dry and relied on the BBQ (or whatever) sauce which was asking too much of the sauce. Onto the grilled chicken banh mi and it was more flavorful and not as dry, but again, didn't see much if any butter and no pate either. Also both sandwiches were very spicy and my heat index is already pretty high. The sauce was hot and they put a lot of jalapeno's in it, so we need to remember to ask them to hold that, or lighter on the peppers. However, this one was more tasty overall. The pickled vegetables were plentiful, but maybe not pickled long enough as they needed more flavor which I've never experienced from Huong Lan, whose pickled veggies are incredibly delicious. I see that the reviews for other banh mi options are better, so maybe we should've picked different flavors like the Roast Pork Belly which sounds yummy. It is good that they have so many choices here (almost too many, haha). Overall, Banh Mi House was ok for the several items we tried, maybe their other kinds of Banh Mi would be better, so we'll plan to give them another try, but for now I prefer Huong Lan's consistency in quality and quantity.

I've been here once before after they became banh mi house. This place used to be Thanh Huong hot food to go before then. The new rebrand and style of restaurant is a great addition and it's working out for them. I'm not sure if it is still the same owners, but they seem to be doing something right since they are getting a lot more business. I've had the meatball banh mi and the roast pork banh mi here. I also got egg rolls since I hear they are good. First, the egg rolls were decent. I did get here a few minutes before closing and they had a few left, so it did not taste fresh. I wish there was more filling as well. The flavor was good however. I still think homemade egg rolls are the best followed by Long Sandwich's egg rolls. This would be third on my list in the area. I would probably try to get them fresh and believe that would make them taste better. For the banh mi's, I remember the meatball was good. The roasted pork belly was good also, but again, it felt like they skimp on the toppings. For $9, I expected more. When I ordered the same item at Banh Mi Mi, they packed the sandwich full and gave 2x as much pork. It costs more there, but not by much so it's more worth it to get it from over there. I'll be sticking to just the regular fillings here moving forward. The restaurant itself is nice. They have a wide selection of prepared foods you can buy to go and prepackaged for convenience. They also have fridges with frozen foods and dessert you can purchase. There's chairs you can sit down at as you wait for your order. There are no tables and really no place to dine in, but if you don't want to wait, they're are plenty of folding chairs against the wall where you can eat banh mi or handheld foods. Customer service was good. The cashier/gentleman who took my order was polite and friendly. Parking can get crowded during peak hours so beware and it can get...cramped and dangerous since a lot of drivers like to rush through the lot. Overall, a good alternative to Duc Huong, but DH is still the number one spot to be in the area. Especially since prices are comparable. This one just has less of a crowd and wait if you're in a hurry.

    banh mi cha ca (#8)

Banh Mi House is the place to go when you want a simple banh mi without the long wait! I ordered the banh mi thit nuong (#2) and the banh mi cha ca (#8). Both were absolutely delicious. The thit nuong was incredibly flavorful and juicy, which made the whole sandwich taste so heavenly with the fresh veggies and crispy bread. My husband went with the cha ca (fish cake) banh mi and he loved it just as much. You can also ask for extra everything, which we will have to do next time we come! One thing that really stood out was the service. We ordered and got our food almost immediately, and they actually brought it out to us instead of having us go up to grab it. Such a small gesture but so thoughtful. They also have a ton of snacks and drinks available, so I will definitely be trying more items next time.

A big welcome to this new BANH MI shop that replaced the previous occupant Thanh Huong banh mi shop! Food: Banh mi dac biet (special) - 5/5 - this shop has a unique spin to this Vietnamese classic of the special combination featuring more than most other places Banh mi ga nuong (grilled chicken) - 5/5 - good healthy option; grilled chicken has a sweet marinade Banh mi thit heo nuong (grilled pork) - 5/5 - grilled pork sweet marinade Banh mi heo quay (crispy pork belly) - 5/5 - super delicious Banh mi bo la lot (grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves) - 5/5 - most expensive option and of course it's so delicious Banh mi cha ca (fish cake) - 3.5/5 - is it possible that something can be too fishy? Haha ... I guess I got what I was asking for. I would recommend that they make a banh mi with shrimp cake (like chao tom) instead. Cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) - 5/5 - nice and strong taste Ambience: A straightforward to-go banh mi shop with wide menu screens Service: Fast and friendly

I came by on a Sunday morning at around 8:30 and a decent amount of people already inside waiting on orders. They have three registers and take card payments which requires a $10 minimum order. I like that they are open pretty early! There are freezers on the left for premade foods you can heat up. The middle of the store has tables with premade foods like shrimp spring rolls (goi cuon) and steamed rice sheets (rolls) filled with pork (banh cuon) with some slices of steamed pork paste (cha lua). I ate them so quickly that I forgot to take photos of them for Yelp. I also bought two baguettes and cha lua which comes covered in banana leaves as this is what they steam/cook the pork paste in. I also asked if they sell the pickled daikon and carrot mix (do chua) as a side so I could make cha lua sandwiches at home. They sell them as 1/2 pound or 1 pound increments it seems. There were lots of parking spots in the early morning but at peak hours during lunch and dinner, the entire plaza is usually always packed and I've found it difficult to find parking spots. Overall I enjoyed all the food I got and would definitely come back!

Banh Mi House is exactly the kind of spot I love finding--quick, no hassle, and seriously good food. We stopped by for a quick bite, and everything was super smooth from start to finish. Ordering was easy, service was fast, and the food came out quicker than expected. Perfect when you're hungry and don't want to wait around. The banh mi itself was really good -- fresh bread with a nice crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and fillings that were flavorful and well-balanced. Nothing overcomplicated, just done right. It's one of those sandwiches you finish and immediately think about getting another. The staff was friendly and efficient, which made the whole experience even better. Best for: Quick lunches, grab-and-go meals, or when you want something satisfying without the wait. Simple, fast, and delicious--easy 5 stars for me. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

Tried banh mi house for the first time today. Got 2 of the pork belly banh mi. In my opinion, there was too much bread, not enough veggies or meat ratio. I was disappointed. Not generous on portions, I didn't like the proportioning. I took photos of the inside of the sandwich as well. If you're craving a pork belly banh mi, believe it or not, Sam's Cafe in south Sacramento has the best one. It's a packed sandwich and does not lack in flavor. The flavor profile of the sandwich here was definitely there, but for it to be dubbed banh mi house-- I was expecting much more.

They did a large group order for an event and we ordered many different types of sandwiches for the group. I tried to vegetarian tofu banh mi and it was very good. The tofu was broken into small pieces and there were some noodles. However, there could have been a little more tofu and more flavor there -- didn't feel super satiated with the amount of tofu in the sandwich. There was a good amount of veggies in the sandwich though. The best part of the sandwich was probably the bread. It was very soft, crunchy, and had great flavor -- what you would expect when eating a banh mi. Overall, a solid banh mi lunch spot.

There was a moving line when we arrived late Saturday afternoon. Its a small place but they had a few chairs for waiting. We ordered and waited for about 5 minutes. The staff were nice and friendly. I enjoyed the banh mi, but I felt like it could have been filled a bit more. The restaurant had a variety of banh mi, but we just got our usual this time. I'd come back and try the other ones. Its a great deal for a lunch sandwich compared to subway. This place had a lot of to go food such as the cha, crispy rice and che. It looked good and seemed pretty popular.

**This review is solely about the party tray of 100 egg rolls I ordered for Thanksgiving.** I've been ordering egg rolls from this location for many years, and after some time away, I decided to place a large order for Thanksgiving 2025. When I walked in, I noticed the restaurant had been completely remodeled and was operating under a new name. I asked the staff about their party trays and catering options, and the person at the register pointed me to the wall menu, which now had a much more limited selection than before. I proceeded to order 100 pork egg rolls at $1.10 each and prepaid in full. I clearly requested a Thanksgiving Day pickup at 11:00 AM, and the staff confirmed it would be ready. On Thanksgiving morning, my husband arrived with the receipt to pick up the order. The person at the counter seemed confused and had to ask others for help. He then came back and said, "You know this order is for Thursday at 11 AM?!" My husband replied, "Yes... today is Thursday, and it's 11:01 AM." The employee scrambled around trying to locate our order, and my husband ended up waiting about 15 minutes before the food was finally brought out. Unfortunately, the disappointment didn't end there. The egg rolls tasted stale and old--as if they had been sitting for a day or longer. We're unsure what was rushed together in the back, but they were definitely not freshly made. I was honestly embarrassed to serve them to our guests. Some people tried putting them in the air fryer to crisp them up, but even then, the flavor wasn't the same. To top it off, they also forgot to include the dipping sauce that we were told would come with the catering order. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing, especially for a holiday order we were excited about. I hope the new management addresses these issues so future customers don't experience the same.

A new-ish banh mi place located in close proximity of Huong Lan and Duc Huong. Decided to give this place a try. Came here Friday morning and there wasn't any line. I ordered #1 special, #2 grilled pork, #7 roast pork belly, pate chaud and egg rolls. It took a while for my sandwiches to be ready. There wasn't a long line but I still waited for 15 minutes. The special banh mi had pork floss which is something different from other banh mi shops. The flavors were alright but felt it was too peppery. Grilled pork was lacking a bit of flavor. Lemongrass taste was too much. Roast pork belly, omg, it was delicious. It was juicy, skin was crunchy. Definitely my favorite so far from this place. Their bread was fresh and comparable to duc huong's in my opinion. They have chairs for customers to use while waiting. No indoor dining, only take outs. They were clean and seemed organized.

Planned to order Banh Mi sandwiches for the family from another spot in the Arden Fair area, but to due a potentially long wait time. That led me to Banh Mi House for the first time. I called and was told it would be maybe a 15 minute wait , so I went ahead and ordered 3 Port Banh Mi Sandwiches to go. I'm seeing more and more Vietnamese/Bahn Mi Sandwich restaurants going with a cubed/chopped pork style meat preparation. Which has come to be my favorite way to have my Bahn Mi's prepared. Banh Mi House' sandwich was nice and fresh, with crunchy pickled Carrots & Daikon, fresh cilantro and nicely sliced Jalapeños. In my experience I've found some places slice the Jalapeños too slick which doesn't make them enjoyable in the sandwich. The cubed pork was also nice and favorable, and the sandwich bread wasn't overbaked. Overall: Fresh delicious sandwiches made to order, and priced better than many of the other more popular Banh Mi sandwich spots in Town.

I love how Sacramento's been getting more banh mi options ! Banh mi house is little Saigon's newest addition ! The space is clean and inviting and they've got pre packaged food out and ready to be purchased . I heard their banh uot is the best . There egg rolls looked hot and fresh . I got to try a chicken egg roll and thought it was good . Their bread is soft and chewy, which I loved! However, their chicken was too stringy and the marinade was a bit overwhelming. Overall, I'd come back to try more of what they have to offer. If you're looking for a new banh mi spot to try, this is it!
