    Traditional Banh Mi Sandwich

I've my fair share of banh mis and this one was up there! Crispy baguette, seasoned meat, tangy pickled carrot, mayo, jalapeños (for 10 cents) - the traditional banh mi checked all the boxes in my book! Would return if I find myself in the area and would recommend for a quick meal!

Usually we love ordering but today not sure what happened and the fact that the phone number goes to voice mail is stressing me out! Whoever packed this should take some time to make sure it's actually closed and whoever is responsible for the phone should make sure people can actually reach them and setup the voicemail. Very disappointing.

The Taro bubble tea was out of this world. So incredibly delicious. I would absolutely come back again just for that! They also have delicious banh-mi that I've admittedly only door-dashed from. They have a few spots to sit indoors. All in all a lovely establishment and super friendly staff. I would absolutely return and order from here again and again!

This is how they package their broth. In an unsealed cup that poured into the bag, creating a nightmare of a mess and an inedible dish.

I ordered the chicken pho and a boba milk tea to be delivered. The pho arrived with the broth poured directly into the bag (once I untied the plastic bag and unstapled the paper bag, I found the broth cup uncapped inside as if the liquid would magically stay put). It made an absolute mess in my home, the pho itself was already inedible without broth but the chicken tasted disgusting and like it was days old. The boba milk tea cup was coated with the broth fat and had a gamey smell. DoorDash didn't issue a refund, but I'll be contesting it with my bank.

This is my my go to local Vietnamese takeout spot. I highly recommend the beef short rib banh mi, I never finish it in one sitting and always have left overs. If you order through a special affiliate link from the restaurant you get 10% back that can be used towards free items on future purchases. The beef short rib pho is also delicious, it is my favorite thing to order in the winter when it's cold. It comes with more than enough noodles, and you have the option to add extra meat. The shrimp or duck summer rolls are my go-to for a quick healthy lunch. Only $6.50 for two rolls which is a decent deal. It comes with a peanut sauce which is perfect with the rolls. I recommend ordering ahead, the wait can take a while if you place an order in store since there are so many takeout orders.

I'm absolutely in love with banh mi sandwiches! Lol. It's kinda becoming an addiction at this point which is so bad. They're so good tho! Omg! I ventured to this location, as it is close enough to my home for a delicious roast pork banh mi sandwich. After having my first one at the other location a few weeks ago, i have had a craving since. This location is a lot closer to my home, so i made the trip. Walking in around 1230ish and it was quiet. The location is a lot bigger than the one on Lincoln place. It has a huge table in the middle, and a few tables on the side along with a window seating area table. It was fairly empty, there were two guys enjoying their meal. They have a huge Banhmigos sign on the wall that is cute. The ambiance was nice. It also looks like it might have outdoor space in the front when it gets a little warmer out. (That might be nice on a spring day) The service was great. I was greeted when i walked in. My order was taken fast, the food came out within a few mins, and i was thanked on my way out. (I'm a stickler for customer service). I was happy with my purchase, as well as the food. The sandwich: I've only tried the roast pork banh mi, and again, it was perfection! The meat is so good! The crispy veggies compliment the sandwich so well. The Mayo, or sauce they put on it was a great addition. I opt out of the level of spice they can add to the sandwich. I keep it simple on mine. I would highly recommend as anyone looking for a banh mi sandwich for the first time. The price is $8 with cash (they charge a bit more using a card) and it's perfect. You can add more meat for an extra $2 as well (which i might do next time). I will return. Unfortunately i finished the sandwich before i could capture its photo. But, check out my photo from my last review of Banhmigos if you're interested in seeing the deliciousness. Update 6/13/19**** Omg!! Y'all!! Y'all!! They have Bahn mi tacos!! Omg! Omg! Omg! Amazing! Amazing!

Traditional Banh Mi Sandwich, Poached Shrimp Rolls, beef Beef Short Ribs Tacos
    Khanh N.

Ordered delivery from here because I was craving Viet food and the name amused me. It was an easy transaction during the pandemic. Got the traditional banh mi, the beef short rib tacos (because I figured I should try something fusion from the menu given the name, and the poached shrimp rolls as appetizers with extra peanut sauce. The extra sauce was so worth it -- I love a good peanut sauce and the rolls were complemented by it quite well (a bit bland without, as is their nature, so don't skimp on the sauce). I thought the structural integrity of the tacos was hard to work with -- relative to a baguette, a tortilla is understandably flimsy. The flavor of the tortilla didn't mesh well either, so the fusion aspect was a miss for me. Was difficult to enjoy the filling because it got lost in the tortilla. On the other hand, classic banh mi was delicious and exactly what I wanted. Would come back an order again, though I'll stick to the classics next time. Portions were solid and I had leftovers but was definitely better the first time around.

Close up of the Pho with Beef Short Ribs to go.

The grass jelly was very minimal for paucity - total dismay. The entire drink was embedded with lime, lime pulp and fresh pieces of peach fruit. I wanted the supporting cast to be grass jelly and the lead to be Jasmine green tea, but this lime and heavy lime pulp were aggravating annoyance that stole the spotlight. I decribe the amount of herbal jelly topping to be scant, conveying insufficiency or minimalism. There were absolutely nothing alleged special of this peach sauce. I have chosen my default 30% sugar which highly counteracted with the lime. The lime and lime pulp were very strong. My drink tasted intensely sour, albeit refreshing. A lime drink is not my desideratum. Lime is not my interest. The woman cashier/ server Mattie was attentive, friendly welcoming who served with warm hospitality and patience for customer service. She permitted me to take a lot of photos for this review without any complaints as I could not resist this very cute adorable Shiba theme. If I could suggest to the owner for change of this drink ingredients either to remove of this lime and lime pulp, or significantly decreased the amount inputted. If I could, I could. For $0.75 as a paid topping it is my prerogative to have one quarter quantity of the drink size. The full ice melted entirely, but my drink sustained its coolness and was still chilled during my long-haul subway ride home. Disappointedly, there are no takeout drink menus.

This place not only sells drinks but sandwiches and small bites. Their crispy chicken sandwich is recommendable. The sauce is yummy and the chicken is usually juicy. I usually get the combos so I can takoyaki or curly fries with the sandwich. Recently, I tried their egg waffles, which seems to be a newer offer here. They have very enticing flavors, but it's kind of pricey considering it doesn't come with ice cream, like some other egg waffle shops. I tried the pork floss with seaweed but it tasted too fishy. I also tried the mochi biscoff flavor but the biscoff is not very obvious. It is softer and chewier than the pork floss and seaweed, and I think it's because of the mochi. I prefer my egg waffles crispier
