I ordered the chicken pho and a boba milk tea to be delivered. The pho arrived with the broth poured directly into the bag (once I untied the plastic bag and unstapled the paper bag, I found the broth cup uncapped inside as if the liquid would magically stay put). This is one of my two go-tos for Vietnamese food in the neighborhood. There aren't a lot of vegan options on their menu but there are the tofu rolls, tofu salad, and tofu vermicelli bowl that I can get (and I get peanut sauce instead of the regular dressing) - and luckily, I really enjoy them. The bubble teas are also some of my favorites, and they have non-dairy creamer as their "milk" or non-milk teas as well. It's too bad their pho isn't vegetarian or vegan - the broth is not veggie-friendly, even for the tofu pho. Also, the tacos use flour tortillas, so I can't eat those either. They have a huge Banhmigos sign on the wall that is cute. The ambiance was nice. It also looks like it might have outdoor space in the front when it gets a little warmer out. (That might be nice on a spring day) The service was great. I was greeted when i walked in. My order was taken fast, the food came out within a few mins, and i was thanked on my way out. (I'm a stickler for customer service). I was happy with my purchase, as well as the food. The sandwich: I've only tried the roast pork banh mi, and again, it was perfection! The meat is so good! The crispy veggies compliment the sandwich so well. The Mayo, or sauce they put on it was a great addition. I opt out of the level of spice they can add to the sandwich. I keep it simple on mine. I would highly recommend as anyone looking for a banh mi sandwich for the first time. The price is $8 with cash (they charge a bit more using a card) and it's perfect. Ordered delivery from here because I was craving Viet food and the name amused me. It was an easy transaction during the pandemic. Got the traditional banh mi, the beef short rib tacos (because I figured I should try something fusion from the menu given the name, and the poached shrimp rolls as appetizers with extra peanut sauce. The extra sauce was so worth it -- I love a good peanut sauce and the rolls were complemented by it quite well (a bit bland without, as is their nature, so don't skimp on the sauce). I thought the structural integrity of the tacos was hard to work with -- relative to a baguette, a tortilla is understandably flimsy. The flavor of the tortilla didn't mesh well either, so the fusion aspect was a miss for me. Was difficult to enjoy the filling because it got lost in the tortilla. Their traditional banh mi is not authentic, so I don't care for getting their version, but I do love their short rib banh mi. This place was a bit out of the way from Atlantic Avenue but it was well worth the trek over! When first entering, you'll notice the establishment isn't too big, but it does give you a cozy home feeling. There is also outdoor seating available since it's warm out currently. So on to the food! The wait wasn't long at all, our food was all out within 15 minutes. The grilled pork had great flavor and it was a pretty generous portion. The summer rolls had 4 large shrimps and was also pretty hefty. As other reviewers have noted, their peanut sauce was quite addicting. My girlfriend almost finished one serving of their sauce on one roll. The prices were also very fair and affordable. The staff was extremely friendly, always asking if we needed a refill on our drink and how their food was. The owner definitely wanted our feedback. Should have been rolled with other greens as well like cilantro, carrots, cucumber. Oh well! The peanut hoisin sauce needed for hoisin sauce to my taste. Usually the color is black, not brown. Thai tea- perfectly soft, tiny tapioca bubbles and not loaded with ice. A bit pricey for a small 12oz size where I can get even more at Kung fu tea for the same. Viet iced coffee- good balance of sweet and boldness. Staff was friendly and and food and drinks were served at appropriate times. Lotsa table and bar seatings. $10 minimum for credit card use.
