Lucy's isn't your traditional Vietnamese restaurant, but with a Texas twist. So you won't find your typical Vietnamese meats, but pho and banh mi made with smoked brisket, tofu, or lemongrass chicken. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Pho ($16.95) and Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi ($14.95). Of course this is more than enough food for two, but I wanted to try both items. The pho was perfect on a winter day. You can really taste the spices in the broth and the smokiness from the tender brisket. On the other hand, I thought the banh mi was just ok --I definitely prefer the traditional Vietnamese meat for this one, but the brisket probably would've been better too. This felt a bit too Americanized for me. Overall, definitely recommend any item with the smoked brisket here. Also, loved the customer service when they helped me packed my leftovers. P.S. I was in the mood for a Chicken Banh Mi sandwich today and I really love Lucy's! I visited the Bushwick location a few years back during an Elite Event and loved the experience. Today's delivery was equally exceptional. The banh mi was packed with chicken, cilantro, daikon and mayo, mildly spicy on a toasted baguette. Totally scrumptious! I also ordered a chicken vermicelli salad for work lunch and their delicious bottled Black Lemon tea . I got a BOGO on the tea. After leaving another restaurant disappointed, I was so relieved to catch this spot just before closing--and honestly, it hit the spot. Food: 4/5 I ordered the beef bánh mì for my husband and pho for myself. One thing I found really interesting was how this place focuses on vegan Vietnamese cuisine--but still offers meat options. Really excited to have discovered this Vietnamese spot in the neighborhood! My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here, chicken pho with extra vegetables, extra broth and extra noodles. Normally, I don't love chicken pho and would opt for another protein alternative but this chicken was really tender and flavorful. The noodles were a little too chewy for my preference but did hold their shape well for leftovers. Vegetables were fresh and tasty. Their broth had a slight tang to it that wasn't my favorite but we still really enjoyed our dinner from here and would order from here again. They have vegetarian meat alternatives on the menu and I plan to try these soon. read more

This is a cute and comfy location, appeared to be very clean. Friendly environment and service. I had the Vegan Ginger Chick'n vermicelli, my first time trying a Vietnamese dish. I liked it, it was light and fresh. Veggies were crisp and the vegan chicken was very flavored. I wasn't crazy about the summer roll, I would have preferred less noodles and more veggies with the shrimp. And shrimp could have been cleaned more thoroughly. I came here for lunch on a rainy Sunday. They had outdoor seating but only two tables inside. One table had bench seating and one had stools. I had the tofu pho. It was delicious. Tasty, hearty, and filling. The flavors were subtle, but they provided sriracha chili sauce which gave it a nice kick. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. I also had the vegan ginger chick'n spring roll. It's rare and awesome to find a Vietnamese restaurant with vegan meat options. However, they put the chick'n roll on the same tray as my partner's chicken roll. We had to ask which was which so if you are vegan/vegetarian and sensitive to this, make sure to ask for separate platings. The roll had a bit too much noodle and not much of the other ingredients. I didn't taste any ginger on the chicken. Still, I enjoyed it, especially with the accompanying peanut sauce, which was sweet and savory. read more

This may be the first time I've given a place 5 stars immediately after I ate and Lucy's Vietnamese - Bedford Stuyvesant deserves every star. To start off, you can smell the delicious food as you pass by. That and the neon ground sign was what caught my attention about this place. I hadn't heard of it before but a quick check of its Yelp stats let me know that it might be worth a stop, the next time that I passed. Sure enough, I popped inside two days later on my way to the bus. I saw the Smoked Brisket Pho on the menu and was sold. No exaggeration, my order was ready in less than 5 minutes and my server was very sweet. Once I arrived home, I devoured the Pho and immediately started drafting this review. The Smoked Brisket Pho blew me away and I've already reordered it 2 more times. I really came to tell y'all how good their pho issssss. The brisket is super flavorful my goodness!! My grandmother had the brisket Bàhn Mí and she enjoyed it, just had a lot of carrots/cilantro. I enjoyed my lemongrass chicken bowl, I'm not usually a fan of mushrooms but I love that they cut it up small where it didn't bother me. Lovedddd everything here! & the workers were nice plus inside was comfortable. They also have seating outside if the seats inside are occupied. Had a Banh Mi, it was ok. If I were given a multiple choice test on the chicken (on the sandwich) and the two options were "grilled" and "microwaved" I would have checked the latter. Best pho I've had in brooklyn by far. The dish has lots of meat and tofu. The broth was flavorful and mouth watering. Easily the best pho in this part of Brooklyn, and maybe in all of Brooklyn together with the other Lucy's locations? Just wish it were closer to me. The brisket pho is so good and very filling. If you are very hungry, add one summer roll and you will be totally full and happy, but the pho by itself is enough for most people. Generous amount of brisket in there. I like that it's not fancy and just counter service. Get in and get out. Or I imagine most of their business is take-out, but I like to sit in there. It's cozy and has all the extra things I need for a banging bowl of pho. read more

Man. This place has become the local hangout after my friends and I go to a two-hour dance class. Whether you get the Pho, the Bánh Mi, or anything else, it's delicious (I've only had those two, but I also hear that the Summer Rolls are great!). If you're not too hungry and you ask nicely, you can even get just a side of the smoked brisket for around $5. The interior is a little small for our group of six, so we usually eat outside in their outdoor seating area. The staff is all super friendly. I love Lucy's over in Bushwick so I was excited to try out this location. They have outdoor seating and will serve you in bowls (unlike in Bed-Stuy). The staff are friendly and they offer discounts for military, first responders, and healthcare workers - great for that community. I ordered the smoked brisket and tofu pho. Both were great and filled with lots of protein, noodles, and veggies. I also appreciate that they had custom lining, and silverware packaging. Although I am not thrilled at their use of one-time use silverware here. I appreciate their commitment to custom branding. Everything about the pho were great, though I would say that I found the broth here bit lacking in flavor in depth. I'm not sure if it was an off day for them, but the broth over in bushwick was head over heels superior than the one here. I'll need to come back and find out if it was a fluke or not. read more

I am so in love with their pho, the meat is crazy tender. I also really love their to-go bottled Vietnamese coffee! Wow! I love this place. I ordered my first order ever throw Uber eats and they had such an attention to detail for the pho delivery, with the soup, meat/noodles, fixings all separated. They even had packets of sriracha and hoisin sauce. So good. The lemongrass chicken was a delicious addition to the soup, making it flavorful and not overpowering (Im fighting a cold and didn't opt for the delicious sounding brisket pho). We ordered takeout at this restaurant recently and was disappointed in the quality of the food. We ordered the lemongrass chicken pho and several spring rolls as appetizers. The spring rolls were delicious,especially with the peanut sauce. However the chicken didn't taste fresh. It may have been marinated in a sauce to preserve it. The texture and color of the chicken was off and strange. We couldn't finish our meals. Perhaps their vegan options are better. I would not order the chicken there. read more

The most interesting mix. The brisket pho is literally like southern brisket from Texas mixed with pho. The southern brisket still retains its BBQ taste. I looked up the history of that meal and apparently the owner used to work at a brisket place. I think it's cool that he did that, but be aware that when you come here that it's not traditional pho. Personally, I didn't mind, but people who are here for that strong spirit pho will find it elsewhere. It is hard to start businesses so definitely wishing him the best. read more

On a Sunday stroll through my neighborhood dying of hunger and I walked past Lucy's. I was contemplating on whether I should get my lunch from here, however, I am glad that I did. This sandwich was very light and tasty. I did wait quit a while for my food, but I was then informed by one of the kitchen staff that my sandwich had to be remade due to him burning my bread.
