Ever since they close the a pasco branch, I've had to struggle. I use to do all my credit payments…read moreover with this account, now my husband wants us to close our account with them. I hate that we don't have a branch in my city. I never had a problem with this bank till now. I went in to add some new documents for my account, and all of the employees were what I thought it was a meeting, but no. They were just welcoming a new member to this branch, meanwhile this was at 10 am. And I was not the only one waiting. They had people waiting for a teller and another 3 plus me wait. I just don't know what to do. Changing banks it's hard. Hope they can bring one back to pasco, with the same employees they had, I made with acquaintances.

This is my bank. I didn't really pick this place because it was greater than any place else (in…read morehindsight, I probably should have went with a local credit union, but changing banks just seems like too much of a pain). The tellers here ARE super nice. They've taken care of me when I've needed more-than-ATM service. Lately, they've had a person in the lobby whose purpose is to welcome you, ask how they can help, and make small talk. Yeah, I don't really need this. The lobby in this bank is HUGE! I wonder if this place was something else in another time....perhaps it was the previous Justice League Of America fortress?? I don't know. The artwork depicting the sub-atomic world (we are near Hanford) is chuckle-worthy.

HAPO Community Credit Union

HAPO Community Credit Union

I've banked with HAPO Community Credit Union for over 15 years. I disputed a charge where a…read moremerchant failed to deliver merchandise and did not issue a refund. Despite providing documentation and my history as a member, HAPO denied the dispute and sided with the merchant. The funds were not credited back to me, and I never received the merchandise. This experience seriously damaged my trust in the institution. Based on this outcome, I cannot recommend HAPO if you expect strong consumer protection when a dispute arises.

HAPO has lost its soul and they've forgotten where they came from…read more Found out from my CAR INSURANCE company that a NexisLexis score was affecting my insurance rates! Contacted NexisLexis and found out it was a late payment from HAPO affecting my score. Dug into it and discovered many years back when I paid off a HAPO credit card online (using the posted full amount due!) that my online payment didn't include the daily accrued interest! So, we were thinking it was paid off and really a $13 interest had built up in just the first 5 days of that month! Several months went by and a nice lady called me up telling me about the late payment fees that were accruing. I paid the $13 and they removed all the fees. But they didn't remove my Experian late payment record! So, years later, and thanks to WA state now connecting LexisNexis risk analyses to our insurance analytics, I have a red flag that will stay on my record for 10 years! I called up HAPO, showed them the proof of payments, the statements, including the month prior showing how much was owed. I implored that it was obvious that I had intended to pay it off because the two payments added up to the total amount owed on the statement sent out less than ten days before. Management agreed it was ridiculous. But in the end, they "couldn't" remove the record because "it was technically correct." I was faced with the reality that with HAPO, I was just a number. They were more concerned with this incident being "technically a late payment" than with helping their customer. Were they right? Meh. Was I right? Doesn't matter. Their online payment system remains vague and still doesn't warn or address this issue. Management told me that the only way to pay the full amount, including interest, is to call up a rep. No online warnings. No nothing. You tell me, if you weren't a corporation that was too large for your neighborhood, would you have cleared this record? $13! And now my insurance will be impacted for ten years!

Gesa Credit Union - Richland Branch

Gesa Credit Union

The daunting task of switching money-storing-institutions was always a scary ghost story…read moreproposition, but Gesa helped cushion the blow with a fluffy pillow. I recently endeavored to leave my banking institution of 13yrs, Bank of America; this was before they announced the $5/month fee, but nonetheless, I'd been contemplating a switch to a credit union for some time----just the idea of switching everything over sounded like too much of a pain. The woman who helped me open my account was super nice. She answered all of my questions. She wasn't pushy. She was thorough in explaining everything I needed to know. There are some cool perks that I'm waiting to check out, such as being reimbursed for any ATM fees incurred from using other ATMs, and also seeing the nice interest rates on both my checking and savings account. The online experience (Gesa@Home) has a little bit to be desired so far, but I've called their Help Line and had a real person help me out. So yeah, credit union vs. bank? The verdict is still out, but I must say I'm happy with my credit union experience at Gesa thus far.

She put not ein my file to send receipts each time. Now Its Feb- no receipt came for another deposit.. I had to call again. They didn't send one so it will come sometime. This time the supervisor is going to be sure there is a note in my account! They also want to push me to driving 15 miles away in Seattle area to deposit in person. I like to believe people and trust. however things do not get better with them.
