The only reason it gets a 1 star is because the receptionist and the physicians assistant who took my vitals was nice. The doctor (Sheryl Bacon) was horrible. Wouldn't let me get a word in when trying to ask me questions or explain how I was feeling and then got into politics and brought up the good Donald Trump did and how the current administration is bad. That is not something I want to talk about when I go to get checked out while sick. Also said how I didn't have a fever but when the assistant took my temp it said 100.1?! And when I brought that up she said "yeah well that's not something to actually be concerned enough about". I also had an appointment at 5:40, didn't get called back until 6:40, and didn't end up leaving until 7:45. Overall, horrible experience. I went in on a Wednesday after feeling sick since Monday.. doctor told me it was just a cold and to take Zyrtec.. well a week later, still wasn't feeling better so I went to my doctor office. They strep tested me there, came up negative, but after looking at my throat determined it is some kind of bacterial infection and gave me steroids. If the doctor at urgent care would've just believed me when I said it was more than a cold, I may not be sick over a week later, had a gotten the medicine prescribed the first doctor visit. I'll give it 2 stars, because it was quick service and I didn't have to wait very long in the lobby, it was also 7 pm and no one else was there. read more

Today I made an appointment at 9:00 am for 1:45 pm. After waiting for hours, at 12:30 they texted and said my appointment would be canceled "due to staffing". We waited all day for a much needed appointment, only to have our appointment canceled right before. When I tried calling this location, no one answered and the phone just stopped ringing each time. Went to the clinic back on April 27th and they still have not billed the visit to my insurance. They over charged me on my co-pay and needed to wait for my EOB to request the refund. Tried calling the clinic and they are closed for staffing. Urgent care billing said they can't help me as the clinic has not submitted anything to they to send to my insurance and to call the clinic. Can't get anywhere and everyone is transferring me to someone else. Just want my claim submitted. Horrible customer service. read more

Pour some water in it.... Seriously. So last Wednesday my girlfriend took our 16 month old to this facility to get checked for a bad cough. We were visiting AZ and it was local- kids get sick.... After waiting for an hour in an empty lobby (there was one other couple) and 45 mins in a back room a Dr. Finally came in and assisted. Nothing "urgent" about this place so far...a steroid shot and a prescription later and they headed out. Good to know they can handle prescriptions in house and you don't have to go and shuttle around a sick baby to Walgreens. "Give her this, twice a day for ten days" simple enough, right? Not so much....on the morning of the 7th day we realized that there was no way this medicine was going to last for 10 days- it was going to run out today, day seven. So we drove back down in hopes of getting enough medication to finish the prescribed remedy. Upon arriving we were told they would have to call billing??? Billing didn't help and didn't care. We had two choices...buy another FULL prescription, or as the nurse at the front counter suggested..."maybe you can pour some water in it." This was her suggestion. No thank you. I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure that's not how your supposed to go about it. Needless to say, we will just take our daughter to a pediatrician in the morning. Kind of reminded me of scrapping my knees when I was a kid and having my Dad tell me, "rub some dirt on it!" Not exactly sound medical advise :( read more

It was after normal business hours on a weekday, and I needed somewhere to take my 4 year old to confirm my suspicions about him having strep throat. Normally, we go to he's pediatrician but his suffering couldn't wait until tomorrow. I used the yelp app, and sought out this urgent care based on the reviews and the incentive that said if I "checked in" I would receive a voucher for an "in-house prescription". Done. So I buckled up the kids and drove over, checked in and the nurse practitioner confirmed that he would need antibiotics to fight off his bacterial infection. She asked if I wanted to have them fill his prescription there. Sure! That's convenient! I even told her that I had this voucher from yelp, and she said I could show it when I checked out to redeem it. On the track to a five star review so far.... Then... I get to the check out desk and show my voucher, and the girl tells me that because I had been to their urgent care before (once 3 years ago) I was not eligible for the voucher. She was firm on this and didn't bother to get a manager, or show any concern at all. It wasn't as if I had already used this voucher and I was trying to double dip or abuse the system. I felt like I was doing them a favor by checking in, promoting their business and was prepared to write an outstanding review after my appointment but then they blindside me with this awful ending. And for that reason, I will make a point to never return to this dishonest urgent care. They lure you in, and then don't follow through with offers they extend through the very app that consumers use to rate them! Was scheduled for a COVID test as part of my pre op and was told a COVID test prior to surgery was a must. I was told the COVID test was free and thus an appointment was set up at Banner Urgency Care in Gilbert. Went to scheduled appointment and had the COVID Test completed. While there, again asked if the test was free and the technician answered absolutely. Test was completed around 3rd week of September. Surgery was performed around 4th week of September. Fast forward to November and I get a bill in the mail for 50.00 and told I am late. First notice. Called "mydocbill.com/bucs to dispute the bill as directed on the bill/notice sent. Called 6 times, sent 2 emails requesting a call back or response to emails over a 3 week time. Each time I called I hung up after a 30 minute wait. Never got a response to my email requests. Finally, after 7th phone call and an hour and fifteen minute wait I was connected to a service rep. Explained the issue/concern and was immediately transferred to a supervisor which entailed another 30 minute wait. The business model for Banner is obviously set up this way to intentionally frustrate consumers in the hope most will simple hang up, give up and pay the minimal fee instead of trying to correct the deliberate mistake. No way 6 phone calls 2 emails should go unanswered or to not get a call back. Their business model is set up this way!!! I feel so sorry for the service representatives who are positioned to be verbally abused or insulted for such pathetic customer service!!!!/business model. Horrible service and all companies can be judged on how well they implement service response times and resolving customer service issues/disputes. Front end is easy peasy; back end requires commitment, integrity and commitment to customer service. This company fails. Do not use if all possible. read more

I ended up here a couple of weeks or so ago because I was violently ill with what I thought was either the stomach flu or food poisoning. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't get relief, and I was desperate. This was the only urgent care my insurance -- at the time -- would cover. I booked a time in advance on their website and came shortly before my time. They got me in rather quickly, thankfully. However, the experience with the NP was less than stellar. I didn't even know that she was the one seeing me because the NP just walked in, didn't introduce herself, and started going. She was very cold and curt, and the "care" she gave was stuff I could've done at home for the most part. She pretty much told me that there was a bug going around and that I should take some Pepto Bismol and she'd prescribe me Zofran. I told her I already had Zofran at home and had taken it prior to vomiting and it did nothing for my nausea. She didn't listen to me and kept pushing for the Zofran anyway. I was severely dehydrated due to nonstop illness and they didn't do an IV to give me fluids. I've gone to Dignity Health urgent care a few times before and they'll do an IV to give fluids and antibiotics as well. That was never offered, even though I had a fever, they saw how dehydrated I was when I gave my urine sample, and I had been up for over 24 hours straight with no stopping the illness. I had to practically beg for the nausea shot so I could finally sleep. She was pretty rough giving the shot and made me bleed a lot, but honestly I was just grateful to finally be tired and get several hours of sleep. I would've went to the Dignity Health urgent care (which I've had great experiences at) but my temporary insurance only covered the Banner urgent cares. I almost wish I got sick a little later since my new insurance started on April 1st and of course I got sick the 29th of March. The name of my NP according to the papers from my visit was Shuntelle Hawk. I'd recommend going to another urgent care overall though, I just had no other choice. read more

I've gone to multiple urgent care centers before and consistently have had pretty bad experiences. No one typically wants to be working, so staff is rude. Wait times are usually terrible. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted in a pleasant manner by the receptionist. Was in and out very quickly and the staff were professional. This experience is what I would expect from all urgent cares. Even though this location is not close to my house I would come here if I had an urgent care related matter again in the future. Terrible. Got some metal in my eye at work so boss man brought me here. The dr was awful. I felt like I was imposing on him for going in. My eye was just a little irritated, I went at my boss' request. After looking at my eye for the metal, he used a tweezer like tool to pull it out. After prodding my eye like crazy he tells me he cant get it out and I need to go somewhere else. As I went immediately to ER, the numbing began to wear off and my eye quickly became very painful. When I pulled the eye patch off, I realized everything was very hazy. (I had full 20/20 when the assistant had me read a chart just before the doctor's "attempt".) The ER doctor took only 5mins to realize the metal was gone and there was a large injury to my cornea. Turns out I was having part of my eye being ripped apart. read more

If I could give zero I would. Horrible doctor experience. A family member went in for an asthma attack and saw Dr Ledesma who claimed she didn't feel comfortable prescribing an inhaler. Instead he got a breathing treatment and walked out with and allergy pill. An allergy pill for an asthmatic who has had this their entire life. Absolutely shameful!!! We went to Primary Care Walk-In, in Gilbert, (the same day) was charged less because they felt awful for the previous urgent care experience earlier in the day and they have nothing to do with Banner. We will NEVER go back to any Banner especially this one on Guadalupe. read more

Wow. I cannot begin to tell you how much Urgent Care Extra has come through for me. After moving to AZ, I got hit with a MAJOR case of allergies. No exaggeration, I had never ever been that sick in my life with any kind of illness as I was with these allergies. I seriously thought this was the end. I was greeted immediately upon walking in and after a few sheets of paperwork, I was on my way back to see the provider. They got me all fixed up and within a couple of days of using the medication prescribed, I was on the road to recovery. $50 gets you in to see a doctor and $15 will cover each prescription if necessary. This is a GREAT deal especially if you don;t have insurance coverage. (fyi, use the yelp check in offer for a free prescription to save a few extra bucks). I would highly recommend this location if you are in need of immediate medical assistance. read more

The most blatant medical rip off establishment I've ever experienced. I have very good coverage for urgent care, but because the copay for urgent care wasn't visible ON my card... the guy at the desk was going to charge me twice the copay. I asked him to call (not ONE patient in the entire building), but "not his job". I very obviously left because even tho I could've paid their $75.... I refused to. I went in with urinary tract issues and he diagnosed me with an infection and told me to go to either a Gyno or a urologist the same day so that they could possibly diagnose me with kidney stones. So I made an appt and went to my gyno.....they told me there is nothing they could do and that I had to see a urologist. I called back to complain that the doctor was wrong and that my ONLY choice was a urologist and they basically told me, too bad so sad, go to a urologist. What a joke. Never go here. read more

Left frustrated today - if you are going to be condescending and dismissive you should have a LOT more initials in front of your name than just PA. As a Business owner I do not allow my employees to treat customers that way. This is on top of a visit last fall where they never phoned in my prescription after an allergic reaction and I had to go back in on another day to get it. I had looked up in their payment scheduling posted online that it would be $57. So I asked the girl at the front desk to check into it and she said "no, I have never heard that before so it will be $150" So I said it wasnt following their stated procedures and she again said "No, I cant do that, I have never heard it before." So of course we left and will NOT go there again even if they cleared up their own training and we could be seen for $57. SERVICE is everything people. read more

Please take my advice and seek medical attention elsewhere, especially with your precious children. My 3 yr old son fell off a playground onto his arm/elbow and the PCH UC up the road was not open until 5pm on April 13th 2018. We were directed elsewhere for an x-ray & landed at this Banner Urgent Care who had an x-ray tech on staff. They performed an x-ray of his arm, said my son was holding and presenting as a nursemaid's elbow, which was NOT confirmed on x-ray. The doctor attempted to reduce it THREE times unsuccessfully and this was no gentle reduction, during which my son screamed bloody murder and was shaking the entire time. We were told to monitor and treat with ibuprofen. They sent us home with it wrapped and advised if pain did not decrease we should seek additional care. After 36 hours of my son not allowing us to touch him on his arm, at all, we went to PCH UC only to find out that his left humerus was broken, right above the elbow. I instantly felt ill that my son had to experience such excruciating pain at the hands of an uninformed doctor. The PCH UC doctor told us that Nursemaid's elbow is rarely caused by a fall and if a child injures the elbow when falling onto an outstretched hand or directly onto the elbow, it may be a broken bone rather than nursemaid's elbow. I called the Banner UC that day we found out it was broken and left a message with the receptionist. I called back 3 days later to request my son's medical records and x-rays. I spoke with the office manager who assured me that every clinical protocol was followed and that, in fact, a full x-ray of the entire arm was performed (this was untrue) and that she would be taking it up the chain for further review. She also said, that if anything, this was a "learning opportunity". She assured me that she would keep me updated every step of the way. Wrong. I called after a week of no updates only to find out that the office manager was "no longer with Banner". I asked for my message to be forwarded on to the replacement and it has been 5 days with no return call/follow up. Also, I received the x-rays, nothing was taken above the elbow, only the elbow joint down to his finger tips were visible. A nursemaid's elbow is visible on an x-ray and if it cannot be seen then no child should endure 3 reduction attempts without sending the child on for a second opinion. Had they informed us that they were unsure of the correct diagnosis, we would have taken our son to the ER. I plan to continue my follow ups so that this will not happen again to another child. read more

Been to this urgent care 3 times. All 3 went very well. Great customer service. The best thing is the docs don't pressure you to take a bunch of meds. If you're the holistic medicine type they respect that and know some knowledge of home remedies and alternate routes to cure. The only reason 4 not 5 stars is that the wait was quite long. The NP was terrible! I have never been belittled by a healthcare provider. When I told him what was wrong with me, since he asked I told him my lungs were tight and I had a horrible cough. He told me my lungs were fine and that there wasn't much they could do for a virus. I understand viruses but I have asthma and I am subject to bronchitis. I won't be returning to this urgent care anytime soon. On top of all that they put the wrong name on my prescription. read more

Visited on a Sunday. The staff was quite friendly but I was not pleased with the care I received. I went to see my own Dr. the following day who confirmed that what was done was not the best solution for the problem. The Nurse Practitioner who worked on me suggested that I return to them for follow up treatment. I have never been told that by an Urgent Care facility person before. staff was friendly. but when i took everything into account, i can't say that i have a very high opinion of this place. it should have been cleaner for a med facility. if you aren't looking too hard, it may appear fine, but take a closer look and you can tell it needs improvement. if i see blood anywhere, and i did, i feel it's a failure. the paperwork i received reflected only one symptom of the reason i showed up and the discharge paper explaining that one issue had really nothing to do with the actual problem. if this is part of intake/reception and they are not medically trained at all, they need to review personnel that may not have the detailed note taking skills necessary for the position. also received an injection that was not noted on my paperwork. since i was advised to go to the er for further assessment and treatment with my paperwork, it seems like that would be an important thing to have notated. that could have been a major health and safety issue if something happened. read more
