This is a small shop with a huge menu, it was almost overwhelming to look at. I got Off the Wall acai bowl in small. It comes in a large container and depending on if you get a small or large determines how much acai goes in the container. The acai was pretty refreshing and very fresh. The wait took a while though, to order and to get our acai. They only had 2 staff for a weekend afternoon and it was pretty busy. They were constantly making orders. read more

Popped in here because we were craving açaí bowls. I got the Banzai Bowl which had a variety fruit such as strawberries , blueberries, bananas and kiwis as the topping. Also came with bee pollen, granola, and coconut flakes. The size is pretty big and it took two of us to finish it! I would say it was pretty good for the price. My order was made wrong as I asked for no mango and no granola (I'm allergic to mango and I have celiac) they messed up my order and put granola but the girl offered to remake it BUT the man started bad mouthing me as I was standing right behind him "that granola is not an allergy." He then walked to the back and I spoke up and said I have a gluten allergy. Only then did someone else say the granola was gluten free. This man was super rude and insensitive. Growing up in Newport, I used to frequent the location on 17th but stopped going bc the wait was so long, the prices seemed too high and it just wasn't worth the hype. Fast forward and I was at the beach and so hungry. Saw Banzai Bowls and thought, "why not?". My low expectations were thrown out of the water! Delicious, fresh, and bright. And the price was so much better than I remembered. The two young adult men working there were moving quickly through the orders - even tho it was just the two of them - and they were so positive. I've never been to Hawaii but I have had many açai bowls and haven't been the biggest fan. This is the best açai bowl I've had so far. I actually really enjoyed it - I think I even loved it. I love that the base didnt taste diluted with water or juice. It was thick, flavorful and every single element of the bowl tasted fresh! The large was MASSIVE. There was a good amount of fresh fruit toppings. We added pineapple chunks to ours and I was so pleasantly surprised to see that they were actual cut chunks of fresh ripe pineapple - not canned, not days old cut chunks of pineapple. And the strawberry toppings were also super good, fresh and ripe. The blueberries were big, still had the natural whiteish grey dust that very fresh blueberries have. I'm not the biggest fan of granola but this granola...it was really good. Tasted like it was recently made/toasted because it had a reallllly nice crispy crunch to it. I can see why this place is consistently busy - they have a really high quality açai bowl. From what I experienced - they clearly hold high standards and stick to them. **Review for Newport Beach 22nd Street Store - Banzibowls** Date of Visit: 7/8/24 Time: 8:40 AM I had a very disappointing experience at the Newport Beach 22nd Street store. I ordered two Banzibowls online and paid an extra $1.50 per bowl to replace the granola with almond slices. When my wife and I received the bowls, they were completely melted. The guy who handed them over looked at them with disgust, clearly recognizing they were not up to standard. Moreover, the bowls were missing the almond slices we had paid extra for. When my wife brought this up with one of the young women behind the counter, she was told we didn't pay for them and would need to pay an additional $3.00. Unfortunately, we had prepaid online and didn't have our phone with the email receipt to show her. Despite our attempts to explain, we were dismissed and had to leave with our melted, subpar Banzibowls. After returning home and confirming our receipt indeed showed the $3.00 charge for almond slices, I went back to the store later that day to request a reimbursement. A group of young employees gathered behind the register as I explained the situation. One young lady smirked and almost laughed when she incredulously asked, "You want your $1.50 back?" This experience was not about the $1.50 per bowl. It was about the principle and the extremely poor service we received. We were given melted smoothie bowls, treated dismissively, and then practically laughed at when I returned to address the issue. My order accidentally processed twice because of a glitch in the app, I get to the store and they tell me that I have two orders and I say that I only meant to order one. I was charged twice on my card. I asked if I could have the bowls that they made extra since I PAID for them already and they said NO, but said I could get a refund if I called them later??? I ended up calling a week later and they told me that there was nothing they could do about it and that they couldn't get me a refund at all and I'd have to refute the payment with my bank??? needless to say my bank wasn't able to do anything about it so I lost $30 on two extra bowls that I didn't even receive. And they never offered me a store credit or anything. The worst part is I know the employees either ate those bowls i paid for after their shift or threw them out. A waste of my money.
