Jan's is a staple in Costa Mesa, so I'm happy I got to try it! I ordered Jan's Classic Sandwich with chicken salad, and chips on the side. Was a solid sandwich, and would likely get it again, but nothing super special about it. A good sandwich, and even better when eaten on the beach. I liked how there were 3 side options: chips, fruit, and pasta. I especially liked that the chips were tortilla chips served with salsa! The chicken in the chicken salad was chopped/minced super finely and had good flavor. It's large enough to share with someone or you can be greedy and enjoy every bit of it your self!!! The cheese and broccoli is boss as well as their peanut butter banana date shake. This dish came with avocado, carrots, cucumber, sprouts and Cherry tomatoes. It was on top of a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce, but I wish they gave the option for field greens. The spring roll was such a unique idea and a perfect for a quick bite on the go. Both were nourishing, tasty dishes. Service was good, as cashier was friendly and my order was ready promptly. Ambiance is okay, patio outside is decent, but kind of a small and can only fit a few people. Parking in this lot is a pain since there is a lot of traffic in this area, but I'm grateful for free parking. read more

Today I ordered a large smoothie split in to two cups. What I got was two medium cups, one 1/2 full, the other 2/3rd full. I poured the 1/2 full one into the other one and it went to the top. I asked to see a large cup so I could pour the medium into it and it only went about 3/4 full. I was dropping these off to my daughter's work & ended up just giving her the big one with 1/4 missing. Another disappointment was it hardly had any flavor & was watery. I just spent $14 with tip for a mediocre drink.
