    Açaí smoothie
    Grace K.

Let's start by stating, this is one of those spots you go to when the vibes are already high, you're enjoying the beach and walk in wearing your bathing suit, a little cover up, and definitely covered in sand and probably a little sunburnt! It's located at the Newport/Balboa pier by the surfer statue, the interior is tight but manageable as the drinks come out pretty quickly. There's plenty of tables set outside to be shared amongst the other small food spots around. I visited on a Saturday morning after taking a walk up and down the pier with my pup. The line was a few folks out the door but I was at the counter ordering within a few minutes. The menu is straight and to the point, prices are what you'd expect from any coffee shop in the OC (I would think the baseline is $6-$8 per drink) They also offer smoothies and açaí bowls as well. I see that they had an açaí smoothie on the menu and was intrigued! Once I received my smoothie, I could tell just by visuals it was a premade frozen açaí blend of some sort that was re-blended. It tasted pretty close to the single serve frozen açaí pouches you can buy at Costco. And speaking of, the consistency was exactly like your Costco berry smoothie (and dare I say.. even the taste? lol) except of course the Costco smoothie is only $3. It wasn't great. It wasn't bad. It wasn't cheap ($8) but, it was a cold drink on a hot day that was artificially sweet and went down easy. And also, served by the nicest staff!! Next time I'll try their matcha (which is what I was going to order but then I had to get spontaneous lol)

Matcha so delicious, I had it two days in a row! What a cute coffee spot. Definitely can tell this is a favorite of the locals for sure as it seemed like there were a lot of regulars there. They have a little bit of seating inside, but outside there's more seating available. I loved that they had a wall of poloroids of dogs that come in haha. And you can tell the staff LOVES dogs. A man walked in with a husky puppy and they all stopped to say hi ahha it was so cute. We walked down from our Airbnb when we were on vacation this past weekend. The girl helping us was really nice. They had a variety of teas and my husband loves tea so he got the peach tea. It was sooo good! I ordered the matcha and that was delicious! WOW! I literally had to have it two days in a row because it was soooo good. Such a cute coffee shop to grab coffee and go walk down the pier, which is what we did. It was perfect. Highly recommend this coffee spot!

Good Lattes and matcha. I got a latte with almond milk and my husband got an iced matcha with coconut milk and asked for it to not be too sweet. We both loved our drinks and really enjoyed them. I had mine with a maple donut from the donut shop nearby. Service was friendly and I found her super helpful with us and everyone else. I do think that during their busy periods they should either ask for your name or assign numbers. I accidentally grabbed someone else's drink then someone accidentally grabbed my drink. The menu is not super extensive so it is highly like that there are multiple of the same orders and that makes it kind of confusing. There is very little seating to enjoy your drink but you can definitely find a bench somewhere along the beach of course.

Solid coffee near Newport Beach Pier - we stopped by this afternoon and ordered a variety of beverages and gelatos, which we enjoyed on one of their tables. Service was quick and friendly. My vanilla flavored Matcha Latte was excellent. Bill was about $22. Will be back.

Stopped by here after needing a coffee to at the end of our little beach day! Enjoyed an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and thought this place was cute inside and pretty consistently busy! Would def go again

    Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew

Walked in at around 6:45 after a morning beach jog! The place is nice with seating inside and outside! The girl who took my order was so sweet and gave great customer service! I got a drink off the gal menu! The cinnamon roll cold brew basically a cold brew with a cold foam! Well I enjoyed it! The cold foam was great! I always like a cold foam that isn't too thin or too thick and this one was just right! The iced americano is also great just black! I see they are opening up a second location closer to my house so I'm excited for that!!!

    The featured Samoa iced latte

I finally made it down to Newport Coffee Company, and it was worth the wait! This small but adorable store is a gem in an area I adore, having grown up visiting Balboa frequently. The ambiance is inviting, and they even offer some fun merchandise. I decided to try one of their featured drinks--the Samoa latte. While it was a bit sweet for my taste, the quality of the coffee was impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy working together, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. Their menu includes other intriguing Girl Scout-themed drinks like the Thin Mint and Tagalong. I appreciate their variety of milk options, and next time, I plan to try something with macadamia nut or coconut milk, reminiscent of a delightful macadamia nut latte I once had in Hawaii. Visiting on a beautiful Friday morning was perfect; it wasn't busy at all, and I walked right in. A special touch I loved was the feature wall for adoptable dogs in the area--what a wonderful community gesture! If you're in the area, definitely check it out!

    maple Matcha Latte

Really friendly service I feel bad leaving a poor review but the matcha had no matcha flavor. My friends latte was even paler than mine. I got the maple matcha latte with almond milk and we agreed it was like drinking iced milk because there was no matcha or maple flavor. Maybe the coffee is better, would not recommend if you're a matcha fan.

The baristas were very sweet and welcoming. Coffee took about 5 minutes to get. I got the cinnamon roll latte and my dad got pumpkin spice and they were both good but nothing over the top great. This is a perfect spot to get a little pick me up by the beach.

    Pitaya Smoothie
    Daniella P.

There were so many good options to choose from. I ended up going with a Pitaya Smoothie which was sweet, refreshing, and gave me a natural energy kick. It was the perfect drink to have on a hot summer day at the beach. Great place!

The best Sundays include a combination of the Newport Beach Farmers Market and Newport Coffee. This local farmers market has easily become a weekly tradition. It sits pier side every Sunday in Newport from 9am-2pm. I love to start the morning with a drink from Newport Coffee, browse local produce, and a beach walk. My most recent drink order was a hazelnut latte with oat milk. Their coffee is served strong and not over powered by milk and flavoring. The inside has a few seats available, but this cafe is really meant for to-go orders. They also have a wide assortment of beautiful baked goods. Sadly I haven't tried any yet, but the orange cranberry muffin has been calling my name. There's a large paid parking lot nearby, making it really easy to snag a spot.

Samoa Iced Latte with Cold Foam
    Marisol M.

I visited on a Sunday and tried their Samoa Iced Latte with added cold foam--it did not disappoint. It was rich in flavor and pleasantly not overly sweet. The staff was friendly, and the décor is charming. Although I didn't get the chance to try it, their gelato looked amazing. I'll definitely be returning to give it a try.

It's a local hangout for sure; patrons working on lap tops, friends greeting each other and barista's acknowledging prior customers. Super cool spot situated on the main thoroughfare on Lido and only steps to a view of the marina. The Coffee itself was excellent; great flavor, well made and the service was equally as good. The outside patio reminded me of something you'd find in Europe; the walls are covered in vines and it's situated right on the the street where it was a great place to people watch etc.. My wife and I did a simple iced latte and cappuccino both with whole milk. The coffee was great with no sour taste to them. My wife also wanted the croissant, so we ordered one. It was good, but nothing too special. It does get really busy here and for a good reason. It's in a great location in the Lido Marina Village. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. I did get confused with the restrooms but there was one across the street (public restroom). Just to note, I don't think there was a policy for dogs since many people with dogs were coming in and out that were for sure not service animals. I didn't mind since I love dogs, but can be an issue for those with sensitivities. The baristas were all very nice, no issue with customer service. I was basically the only asian dude there the whole time, but there was no issue. Everyone was nice :)

When you enter, the location is huge! Tons of tables and seating. Nice! People are working, hanging out, and enjoying their food and drinks. I ordered a churro latte half sweet and a deluxe avocado toast. The latte was delicious. Sweetness level was just right for me. I don't like super sweet drinks. The avocado toast was also great. There was so much flavor from the egg and bacon and seasonings. It was a little hard to eat out of the to go container, but I made it work. It could easily be shared depending how hungry you are. I love that I didn't feel rushed here. It seems they expect people to come and hang out for awhile. Can't wait to return! I'm eyeing the biscuit and a matcha next time.

Inside is a café inspired by natural accents with an industrial flair giving a rustic character with modern style. The vibe inside is chill with plenty of seating for groups or singles. They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.

I liked the toffee latte more cause it had bits of toffee in it but I also liked the spanish latte as it tasted lighter than the toffee latte. It gave the drinks more of a balance when I started taking sips from both of them. I do really like how the top layer of the lattes were blue, which gives off a great aesthetic. The only downside for me was that the toffee latte lost a good amount of its flavor after some of the ice melted-- some cafes still have a strong coffee taste even after the ice melts & that's usually what I like as far as preference. As for the sunbliss blend smoothie, it definitely had that taste of the 100% real fruit in it and was a refreshing drink to sip on when I walked at the beach.
