OK, perhaps I'm just not as inclined to be as rough on a place that, relatively speaking, just opened, or maybe I just had a pretty good time. It wasn't perfect, but was definitely tasty, and I'll be back. Service was a little slow, but we were there when they were packed, on a Friday night. There was live music, which with the acoustics of the place meant for a very loud dining experience - but again, that's perhaps what they're going for. Next time, I'll probably just try to go a bit earlier in the night, and sit somewhere farther from the band. ;) Food: was really rather good! I was worried, given the other reviews, but my burger was a perfect medium rare, though a little cooler than I'd have liked. The pretzel roll was wonderful, and grilled, which made it nicely crispy. The garlic aoili was good, though *really* garlicky, so almost overpowered things - next time, I'll probably skip it and go with a different condiment. With a burger, you have the option of small portions of some of their appetizers for $2/ea, which is nice - I got the tempura pickled green beans, which were awesome, and a perfectly respectable side salad for $3. I snacked on one of my companion's fries, and they were also very good, with a nice ?red pepper aoili? dipping sauce. As far as expensive, it really wasn't too bad - for my burger, plus salad and side, plus coffee w/ Bailey's, it was an even $20, which ain't bad at all. Especially given that it's Niman ranch beef, which is some damn fine stuff. :) Also, it is a really nicely designed place, open & airy, with a nice ambience. Myself and two friends went for dinner earlier this week. Our server was the most darling lady! She was super friendly and recommended martinis on Wednesday! I had a burger that was really good and the only thing i didn't rate 5 stars is the fries. They taste fine, but when it says "truffle" fries, i guess i had higher expectations. I've been to Bar 145 several times over the years and overall my experiences have been slightly inconsistent. We stopped the night before Thanksgiving while being back in Toledo for the holiday and knowing it would likely be busy made a reservation in person the night before for a party of 5. When we arrived the restaurant had no reservation for us and we had to wait for about 30 minutes. Issues happen but the hostess who handled it didn't seem to be apologetic about the issue. The restaurant was packed so once we were seated it still took awhile to get a drink order in and see our waitress. She was incredibly nice and trying hard to keep up with everything. Our table ordered several different burgers some from the build your own and a few specialty as well. The build your own sandwhich option is always a great way to make sure you get what you want. The food was pretty decent and outside of the truffle fries being cold we were pleased with our food overall. I would say my experiences at Bar 145 average from a 3 to a 4 star but based on last night's overall experience am rating it a 3. It's a great place to get drinks though and they have a lot of live music worth checking out! read more

How is it possible that this place is getting some mixed reviews? Let me assure everyone...it is excellent! I am a total foodie, tried many of the famous burger joints all over the country, and Bar 145 certainly holds its own on flavor, juiciness, presentation & fabulous taste! My customized burger (beef/medium, provolone cheese, fried egg, avocado and Heinz ketchup for dipping) was OUTSTANDING. The server (who was wonderful/very pleasant) told us all about how various ingredients are locally grown and how the beef is only grass fed. I had the mac & gouda for my side item and I am still thinking about it the next day - WOW...so good. Price-wise, I am not sure what everyone is complaining about...this isn't fast food burgers so you aren't going to pay fast food prices. For what you get, the price is very reasonable. My friend got the fried green beans. They had some kind of drizzle sauce that was so delicious - total YUM. Will be back - absolutely. read more

First time at Bar 145, we arrived about 20 minutes after opening. The server, Evelyn, seemed cool at first. They listed they had brunch on the website and the sign outside, but when we asked for brunch menus we were told they didn't do it anymore. Whatever, no biggie. I was in a group of 4, 2 of us black (me included) and 2 of us white. All of us had 2 drinks each. When we got our checks, Evelyn had given the 2 white people in our group their drinks for free, while my other black friend and I paid for both our drinks. Further, the patty melt I ordered was raw and lukewarm. The cheese wasn't even melted. Truffle fries were okay. After reading some other reviews, it seems this bar has race issues in addition to mediocre food. Neither is good for business. read more

The waitress didn't come to our table after we sat down for at least 45 minutes. She came and took our drink orders only to return to tell us they cannot serve us food because the kitchen was to close in two minutes, and sorry for the extremely long wait they are short staffed. I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism that was represented to us. Even though she took the FOOD order of the Caucasian couple that came in and were seated after us. We came for the burgers but we stayed for the eggs. Driving around like two zombies, moaning for FOOOOOOOOOOD but not sure where to go, we ended up on Monroe street looking for something different. We noticed the parking lot was full at Bar 145 and figured it was a good sign. The set up was a little confusing. Other than the obvious buffet spread being laid out, there was no signage or menu explaining our options or pricing. We had hoped to order burgers, but the only thing we were able to order was a custom omelette or mac&cheese. I opted for the omelette and the wife tried the mac. My omelette was ok, but as far as presentation goes it was pretty awful looking being haphazardly flopped into a bowl like plate. My wife's mac&cheese was good, but it came out 15 minutes after my order which was a little frustrating from a pacing point of view. While she waited for her order, she hit the buffet and brought back a little bit of everything. Conceptually the chicken and waffles were great, but suffered from the "buffet effect" of being a little over cooked and dried out. I think if they offered made to order fried chicken and waffles, they'd have a real hit on their hands. It was really busy while we were there, and they clearly have a good thing on their hands. I think if I had known going in that it was only breakfast I would have probably enjoyed myself more. Something about going to a burger joint for a burger only to end up with some locks and cream cheese and a bagel is just a little weird. My only real complaint was the service. It took 20 minutes to get a refill on my tea, which was frustrating. Over all it was an interesting experience and we'll be back. Went on a Monday night so it wasnt really busy so the wait staff was great. Excellent menu, build your own burgers are always incredible, and we received discounted/free additional certain toppings, again, because it was a Monday, so that was a plus. Fried green tomato caprese was to die for. Cauliflower steaks were delicious. My black bean burger and sriracha fries, awesome. My 2 drinks...dont even think there was alcohol in them. Just because it was a Monday doesn't mean I wasnt trying to get my being-out-without- my-baby party on. So the past week I have been there twice with 6-8 people. The food is good, drinks are good but service is seriously lacking. It's disappointing to have to seek out the server more than once, especially when they're hardly busy (half the place was empty both times). Plenty of staff walking around, something tells me management needs to remind them that customers keep the lights on, not long drawn out conversations with coworkers instead of taking care of the tables. If you go before dinner, there's hardly ever a wait and you can also jump next door to Reset to play free arcade games no problem. Building your own burger might have been the original highlight of the menu, but all of their food is amazing. Truffle fries are always my favorite. The pretzel bites and cheese curds are perfect appetizers. The macaroni and soups are fantastic and don't taste bland or out of the can. Let me preface by saying that this review is based solely on their truffle fries. I used to love coming for their truffle fries. 145 is a few blocks from where I live and i craved it all the time. But as of late, and I mean the last 12 times I've been, the truffle fries gets worse and worse each time I go. If you are gonna name a dish by the ingredient, it should have the ingredient in it. I'm a huge truffle lover so I have a taste for it. However, these fries LACK all things truffle. They mind as well call them Parmesan fries since all the do is coat them with 3 pounds of Parmesan it seems like. I've always have had a good experience however on Sunday, 12/12/2021 at 1:30 pm I entered the restaurant and waited to be seated "per the sign." We were standing right in front of the door for 5 min. During this time, 3 waitresses, 1 cook, and 1 bar tender all made eye contact with us yet not one person said a word or acknowledged us. Very disappointed in the service. read more

I came here a couple months ago with friends, and honestly had the worst experience from a restaurant in a long time. Seated ourselves at a table, waited over half an hour for a waitress, and even then, the only reason we got one was because someone from our group showed up late, asked why we hadn't been served yet, and then tracked down someone to ask for service. Our waitress had been serving the table next to us, and KNEW we were there, but then decided to ignore us instead of serve us. When we finally did get our waitress at our table, she took one persons order and then walked away, and then got an attitude with us when she came back and other people wanted to order. At this point, she demanded my credit card from me, saying she needed it for a tab, even though I was only ordering food. I tried telling her that my order was separate from the other order at our table, and she told me she'd figure it out later. When she came back, she threw my card on the table, and then walked away. The rest of the "service" was pretty on par with this. After her horrible attitude and service, we decided to go next door to reset for a few minutes to get drinks and check out the games (since the two buildings are connected). We left our to-go box on the table to let her know we were coming back, since she hadn't checked back at our table since bringing us the box (she brought it without being asked about five minutes after getting our food, as if she was urging us to leave). It was probably about twenty minutes later when I told our group I was going to go pay my bill. I found our waitress and she told me she needed to know what food was mine (because she hasn't listened when we told her the first time). She took me over to the POS to show her, and when she pulled up our order, it was labeled as THESE BITCHES KEEP ORDERING SHIT. I ended up being charged BEFORE I could find a manager to speak to about this. I went and told my friends what had happened, and we asked to speak with a manager. The manager apologized, and offered to buy us drinks, but at this point, we were getting ready to leave and didn't want to order anything else. She then asked for my receipt and left, coming back and telling us that our order was taken care of. The other person in our group hadn't paid yet, and I had. The manager however said it was taken care of, and that we were good to go. My credit card company takes forever to process transactions, and even longer to process refunds, so I figured that when I got charged it would just eventually fall off and didn't think anything much of it. But after a couple of weeks, I STILL hadn't received a refund. Not only that, but I no longer had a receipt either, so I had no reference back to that night to call them with. But honestly I was just ticked off that I got charged $20 for absolutely abysmal service. I was going to post this review shortly after that, but never did. Then a friend of mine recently told me about how Bar 145 had someone working in blackface on Halloween, and honestly, it doesn't shock me. Clearly management doesn't care what people think of their restaurant or how awful their service is, and doesn't care about offending anyone of having people leave satisfied with their experience. I've told plenty of people about our crappy experience there, and after reading other reviews here, I'm not surprised that I'm not the only one who's had a less than stellar experience here. read more

I really liked the atmosphere in here, it didn't feel like it was in a strip in toledo! I really liked the build your own burger option, they had so many unique options. Our server (I think Breanna?) was really kind and courteous! Unfortunately our food took a while to come out ( about 45 mins for 5 burgers) But we were totally understanding and patient. Most places are under staffed right now! I also appreciate that they were not over seating the dining room so they would not overwhelm the wait staff and kitchen. The patio looked fun too! This is just your average place to eat. If anything, I would say it is on the pricey side for what you get. Bar 145 is said to be a 'burger bar' where you can create your own meal or go for one of their set burgers. Since I was having dinner there with a friend, I didn't want to waste time and create so I went for their blue-cheese burger. It was good - not great. The sandwich alone was about nine or ten dollars, and did not come with anything but the burger. Most places would give you fries with your meal, but if you want a side - be prepared to shell out a couple more bucks for a fairly small order of crispy string fries (which are pretty good). From the points above, it probably sounds like I am just bashing the place. I don't hate it - just did not think it was better than your average burger place. I think you could honestly go down the way to the corner of Central and Secor and go to Five Guys and get a bigger burger and more fries than you can imagine for a little smaller dent in your pocket. While the qualities of the burgers, if put neck to neck, would favor Bar 145, I think the overall package serves Five Guys. I have also gone to Bar 145 on a Friday night, and that is probably their mainstay (or at least it should be). The crowd was large, it was not your college crowd either. The people were of a professional nature, and the music was live and keeping people on their feet. The age of the crowd seemed to be everything from people in their mid to upper-20's to mid-50's. There is not a lot of seating around the place, and it seems like a lot of people want that as folks sit all around the bar. In this, when all the stools are taken it makes it quite tough to order a drink - not the end of the world, but it does make the whole bar idea a little tougher when you're 10 feet away from the edge of the bar trying to catch the bartender's eye to try and yell your order across 15 people between you. Overall - go on a bar night for the best Bar 145 has to offer. (Also, not all of the staff members know why it's called Bar 145. Just for a point of information, 145 apparently is the temperature most cooks would say makes the perfect burger.) read more

This place is The Distillery for Sylvania, Ottawa Hills, Westfield Shoppers, yupsters, Cougars, and the flamboyant. One time I even saw some of those kids in colorful clothing, and white, flat-brimmed baseball caps. If this Jersey Shore/Bieber/high school crowd starts to be the norm I'll never come back. If you know The Distillery in the South End of Toledo then you know what to expect- except that everything at Bar 145 is just a little more refined when it comes to the look and feel of the place. They have a great bar, and an atmosphere to match. It gets loud and crowded on the weekends, but this is to be expected with live bands and people on the prowl. The food? It was good the first time, but got progressively worse the more times I dined there. You can create your own burgers with all kinds of toppings, and this is a nice twist; however, the burgers are just okay. The sides and appetizers are nothing to write home about either. They always try to push the pretzel wedges as an appetizer, and I found them to be dry, bland, and boring. I have a feeling this place will be more known for its night life, than for its food. With this, I just hope it doesn't get run down and close like many bars in T-Town. This will depend on how they keep up their prices and quality so they can maintain the clientele (see above: Jersey Shore/Bieber/high school crowd) The service? This also subtracted from my experiences. The girls who served us had kind of an attitude on a couple of occasions. One in particular seemed like she was annoyed at having to work, and would have rather been drinking with the crowd. I've been to Bar 145 three times now, the first time the food was great and each time it continues to get better. Each time I've done the "build your own burger" with different combinations that turn out great. The smoked salmon and garlic flatbread appetizer is also pretty amazing. I'd probably give this place higher marks if the interior and crowd didn't annoy the hell out of me. Bar 145 looks great from the outside and the bar area is nice, as is the patio. The interior is wide open (see "faux industrial") with nothing to stop the sound from echoing around. As it gets more crowded at night you'll find yourself screaming at the person next to you - and that's before the band starts to play. The crowd is mixed dependent on the night but in the evening you'll generally see your fair share of suburban divorcees hungrily eyeing one another, with some Jersey Shore wannabes thrown in the mix. Um, HELL YES. This bar is a win for Toledo. Ambience? HELL YES! Band rocking out on stage so hard you must end your phone conversation with the beat in your chest. HELL YES! Good food? HELL YES! Cool staff? HELL YES! Will I be back? HELL YES! Okay, okay enough with the hell yessing. I found this bar on Yelp on a whim, because as a typical fat American I had a taste for a good burger. And no, not the kind from Good Burger. Pulling up to the bar with keys still in the ignition and the radio off, I could feel the bass rattling the metal on my Chevy. Then almost abruptly the song ended and the vocalist began to croon out Dobie Gray's "Drift Away". I wanted to hold up a lighter in my car and sway back and forth. I'm no smoker though. The second thing I noticed was a packed outside patio seating area at 10pm on a Thursday. There was ample seating however, and very few people, if any were standing. I liked this place already. Upon entering the building the colored lights and young guys on stage take you by storm. They didn't look a day older than the first day after college, but they rocked out anyway to a mixed crowd, young, middle aged, and just plain old. As for the food, I created a "stack your own" burger which included the natural beef, American cheese, pickle chips, red onions, artisan lettuce, aioli sauce, honey mustard and a side of truffle fries. Hey, I told you I wanted a burger, no adventures tonight. My burger was just as I ordered it, well. It was not pink nor was it burnt, I appreciated that. I also appreciated the $10 price tag. It was an adequate size (another review claimed there were small burgers), as I did not finish it all. My food was in hand about 20 minutes after ordering, but when you're watching a live show time flies and you may not want to leave. I also appreciated that someone, who I only could assume was the manager or owner because they weren't wearing a "Bar 145" shirt brought out my food. I also appreciate the tight shirts of the guys at the bar. The girls wear the same shirts too, if thats of any importance to you. My only complaint is that the band is literally rocking out so hard that they can not hear you on the phone. I tried to order over the phone before arriving but it was extremely difficult and a lot of repeating because of the noise. Move the phones to the back or a separate area. I will be back Bar 145. I've dined at Bar 145 twice now and it may be awhile before I return again. The first experience was during their first week of being open, so I naturally expected some things not be up to par. The decor is great, it feels very open and contemporary. We were not greeted upon walking in and it took a few minutes for the server to stop by our table. Upon looking at the menu, I was intrigued by the "build your own burger" style. Closer examination of the items confused me a little. I dine out often, and cook frequently and I had no idea what more than half of the cheeses or breads were. The menu offers no descriptions for any of these cheeses or breads. The waitress stopped back and I inquired about some of the breads and cheeses and got the "I'm not real sure, its only my second day." Well ok, understandable, they just opened. I just winged it and took a gamble. Once the burger came out, it appears small, the presentation of the food was wonderful, but the beef patty was small. For a beer, burger, and side of fries it was $19 before tip. This was very overpriced for the food that I received during the first visit. My 2nd visit was just a week ago. Two of my best friends were in town and we decided to meet up there for lunch at 11am (when they opened). We were greeted this time upon entering but the entire place just felt off. Most of the staff was still performing opening duties (taking chairs down, turning tvs on, and vacuuming.) This didn't really bother me except for the fact that the vacuuming continued well over 30 minutes into our dining experience. I was still curious about the breads and cheeses so I inquired again. This time I got "do you like goat cheese?" I replied no, then she said "Well you wont like any of these 4 cheeses then." Really? Thats not much of an explanation. If your not going to train the waitresses about the different types of breads, cheeses and other menu items, then please place a description on the menu. When the food came out, the burger was much larger than the one I had during the first visit. It was tasty, but over cooked for what I selected. I selected the 145 (medium rare temp) and the center of the burger was not pink at all. My final gripe, was I attempted to use a $2 off coupon from toledosnightout.com. I pulled the coupon up and clicked download on my phone. I showed it to the waitress, she had never seen the coupon before but said "I'm sure I can take it off, I'm just not sure how." A few minutes later she returned and said "No, I'm sorry, I asked the owner and he said you have to print it out and bring it in. Really? Its $2 and your a newer business. I own a business and I would never turn away a coupon, especially a small $2 coupon. To sum it up, I generally received poor service, and the food is overpriced. Its a good burger, but at $14 it should be amazing. I probably wont be returning anytime soon, and probably won't be recommending it to friends or my customers that come into my business (just 1/4 mile from Bar 145). read more

I went into this place really excited and I really, really wanted to like the place. But it turns out that a lot of the dishes didn't fit my taste buds- not that they weren't good, but just not prepared how I usually like my food. Keeping with the build your own burger theme, all sides are a la cart- i.e. no free fries with your burger. A small sides of fries, fried green beans, and mac & gouda were $2 each (I think). My friend got the Po' boy burger which he wasn't very impressed with. He asked for it to be cooked medium-well but it ended up being more like medium-rare. Not a big deal since he's not picky, but still.... if you ask for medium-well, it should be closer to well than it is to rare. The fries were small, seasoned shoestring fries and while I love all types of fries, I like shoestring fries the least (I still eat them, but I usually prefer thicker fries) The fried green beans came with some sweet sauce poured over them. I thought that both were good. But I'm not a fan of sweet and salty so had I known that sauce came on them, I would've asked for the sauce on the side. The mac & gouda was not hot enough by the time I tried it so the cheese wasn't very melted. Plus it was a bit oily, which kind of reminded me of fettucini alfredo- which I am also not a fan of because of the oily taste. But the seasonings of the Mac & gouda were tasty. Also, I ordered my build-a-burger with a fried egg on top. Turns out that the fried egg is served sunny side up- which is my least favorite way to eat an egg. So as you can see, the things that I didn't like aren't necessarily bad things, but just opposite of what my taste buds like. I just know that if I come here again to ask for sauces on the side and fully cooked eggs/burgers. For the appetizer, the pretzel & melted Gouda tasted very similar to spinach artichoke dip. The pretzel bread was soft and yummy. I really like the build a burger option because you can get what you want, but it can get pretty pricey depending on how many items you put on. For example, you pay $1 for any cheese. And only 3 toppings are included so if you like pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and onions on your burger, you're already having to pay extra. Not to mention any other additives like fried eggs, avocados, etc. But the concept is great because you get what you want as long as you're willing to pay for it. Plus, the service was great. The host was really nice and even stopped by our table to see if we liked our meals. And we had a really nice, bubbly waitress. She was really great at bringing refills for our drinks and offered to take the meals back cause she could tell it wasn't exactly what we were expecting. But I hate sending things back so we didn't. But I give them points for their willingness to get things right! The end verdict is that this is a great burger place but the bill can easily add up if you get appetizers and sides and a lot of toppings on your burger. I know that reading this review, people are going to think that I don't like this place but that's not true! I actually really liked it here! I just think that I'll have to figure out the menu so that when I come again, I'll be able to get what I like. NOTE: When they bring out the burgers, ask them what burger is what. They just placed the burgers in front of each of us and we assumed it was our burger without even noticing. But turns out that they switched our burgers. I still can't believe a place like this has opened in Toledo. A great atmosphere, beer selection, menu, music, decor, etc. I fear this place won't make it long with Toledoans reluctance to try anything that isn't a chain restaurant. I have always liked the concept of their build you own burgers. I usually switch it up to get different tastes. However, I always get the brioche bun. The last visit I ordered the brioche bun but was served a plain hamburger bun and a cheap, skimpy one at that. When restaurants start cutting corners it's time to dine elsewhere. Quick update. Today I had a hamburger at one of the three fast food burger giants. The one that starts with a "W." Their bun was vastly better than the one in the above review by a mile (maybe two.) read more

The burgers were small, and the menu was confusing. I was hoping there would be more specialty selections on the menu, but we decided to make our own instead. Our burgers were ok, but for the price, they were totally unacceptable. Definitely not the best burger I've had in Toledo. I was expecting a lot more from this restaurant. It was more like a sports bar on the inside than anything else, but the patio seating was nice. We had multiple waitresses check on us, but our food still took longer than I expected. Overall, the food was too pricey. We might go back if this place stays in business a few months from now. Don't get the potato waffle. We were looking forward to this, but it was sweet and not very good because they use waffle batter. Yuck! read more

Oh, Bar 145, where to begin? Their food is DELICIOUS. If I was voting on food alone, I would give them five stars but this is for the overall experience. I made my own burger with beef, sharp cheddar, onion straws, pickles, lettuces, tomato, bbq sauce with an onion bun. It was the best burger bun I have ever had. I know that may sound strange but I've had some bad buns before. The meat was cooked just like I ordered, medium. The fries were good and came with a "fancy" sauce. My husband ordered the mac and cheese which left something to be desired. Overall, great meal. Our waitress was extremely overloaded but made us feel at home and like "one of her friends". It was really nice and speedy service. I wish I would have gone before 7 on a Saturday night. This place turns into a club after 7. To get a table, we waited an hour and a half after being told an hour. The bar area is crowded so there's no place to really stand and wait as there is no lobby either. Before our meal came, the lights dimmed to more a club lighting. The band was supposed to start at 10:30p but began tuning and warming up at about 8:30p. When we left at around 9:30, they were charging a COVER! FOR A RESTAURANT? I know it has "bar" in it's name and Doc Watson's charges covers too after a certain time but if your kitchen is still open, you shouldn't charge a cover. Bar 145's kitchen is open until 10p. I will go again but for lunch, not dinner. Their food definitely warrants a second visit. As far as going to it as a bar for a drink, it's like a "classier" version of the Bier Stube. This place was great. It was my first time in Toledo and was super impressed. The food was delicious and the beer selection was great. The Loaded Fries were crazy good. I had a standard burger and thought it was tasty, but the two locals I was with ordered the meatloaf. Man was I jealous when their plates came out. Next time I'm getting the meatloaf. I suppose if you live in Ohio you might think the food is overpriced but coming from NY I thought the prices were great. If you're from out-of-town and don't have kids, hit this place up. I bet the summer time with the garage doors and whatnot is a lot of fun. read more

Searching for something new to try, and after hearing good things from a couple of friends, we decided to head to Bar 145. Seems like everyone is talking about this new place. I was leary in heading there, as I hate to wait to be seated, but we got right in on a Thursday evening. We decided to sit at the bar, as there appeared to be a wait if we chose to sit at a table. It looked like the seating was not very efficient as it appeared all they have were tables and booths for four. We noticed a lot of unused seats as they're forced to sit a group of two at a table for four. Beer selection was okay, nothing really stellar. Our burgers came cooked perfectly, except mine was not spruced up exactly as ordered (they added a topping I didn't request, and omitted one I had requested). Between the two of us we had two beers (@ $6.50/beer for Goose Island, which I thought was way over priced), a mixed drink, two burgers, and fries, and our bill came out to $55 (without tip). I feel it was a little steep for what we got. In my opinion, "fancy" and "burgers" don't really go together. I can now say that I went there, but would probably not go back. read more

My husband and I visited for lunch after purchasing a Groupon. I'd heard great things about this place, and after looking at the menu online first I saw items I would like as a vegetarian, plus of course items my meat eating husband would like as well. I was disappointed! First, the bathroom was horrendous. It looked like dried urine was all over the seats and they hadn't cleaned them in a long time. There was also other AHEM... "stuff" sticking to the inside and outside of the bowls. Gross! There were two soap dispensers, and one was empty. I got the black bean panini, which was supposed to be a homemade patty on grilled focaccia. The patty was bland and flavorless, and the bread was not grilled but toasted to the point that it was like eating a giant crouton. The entire sandwich felt like it was missing something. On the flip side, my husband liked the build your own burger he created. He also liked the fries. I guess if you look at this place as more of a bar than a restaurant, you could overlook the disgusting bathroom and less than stellar food. I just wanted lunch, not to drink, so I was disappointed. A buddy and I stopped in Bar 145 during the lunch hour recently. I thought the service was great and the place appeared quite clean. I took advantage of the build your own burger option. The burger was quite good, but - honestly - it wasn't fantastic. I ordered Brie cheese and either they used very little or it completely melted off before it reached my table. Still, it was a tasty burger that was cooked perfectly. And, the fries were good, although the portion was tiny. I would have likely given Bar 145 four stars, but having visited Burger Bar 419 recently, I dropped this review to three stars - because Burger Bar 419 is quite a bit better. read more

I wasn't really sure what to think when I walked into this place. It's like The Counter (Custom-Built Burgers) had a baby with the hipster version of LoneStar Steak House). While their burgers are the best in toledo, the drinks aren't anything special and the customer service is not terrific. Worth checking out if you are in the mood for a burger and not too tired to deal with a place that's just a little too cool for school. read more

We popped in on Wednesday evening, and they were quite busy ($5 burger night). We had to sit at the bar, not my favorite, but I didn't want to wait for a table. Initial attention was very good, but my husband's glass was empty for 10 minutes before we caught the bartender's eye. The sandwiches were made to order, and quite good, but the truffle fries were lukewarm. Looking at the kitchen, you can see several servings just sitting there, waiting to be ordered - no wonder the fries weren't hot. I wouldn't mind waiting a few extra minutes for hot, made to order fries (we chose NOT to go out for fast food, after all). Bottom line: not impressed, and won't be going back any time soon. read more

The food is great. Service is a little slow. Seems like they don't have enough help for the size crowd. Have returned at least 5 times and have never had a bad meal. The service has always been a little slow but not terrible. I will continue to stop here for a decent burger in Toledo. read more

We had a great time on Saturday! The bar was clean, up dated and staff was busy but friendly. The band was amazing. Our food was good, hot and came out quickly for them being so busy. I would recommend this place and plan to return again. read more

Being from California, I really didnt expect much when i went to Toledo; but i was pleasantly suprised by this bar. Moder, crowded, live music and a good crowd. Different crowd than the one you see walking around the malls! haha We came one night and there was a live band which was actually fun to listen to! Then came on the weekend when it was a lot busier, but got a seat at the bar and had a very nice bartender at our service! Thanks for making my visit to Toledo not horribly boring! :) read more
